What an absolute fabulous team we are so thankful for there help and care.we were stranded at the services following an engine fire to our car 25/3 on a trip up to Northumberland. We had been left at the services with the contents of our fully loaded car including our family pet Hugo a GSP. We had previously enquired if we could leave our luggage etc at the hotel on-site who had to decline in a friendly manner. We were in the entrance with our luggage when a member of the Costa team came to our rescue and brought us inside to a section that they had cornered off and even gave Hugo a treat after helping us in with the contents of our car.Big shout out to you all at Costa Durham services. We were then rescued by family and was able to have a fabulous holiday in Northumberland after such a stressful time.THANKYOU 🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👍

Impromptu work meeting here, with seasonal hot chocolates. Plenty of tables and chairs and the standard costa fare.

Met with a couple of workmates for a catch up. The service was nice the bacon roll lovely and the decaf latte was good. This is upstairs in Next and has views of the shop, the car park and the garages out the back on Abbey Road. We felt completely at ease discussing what we needed to. There were a few mums on maternity leave with little ones and a few other business users busy on laptops. Very convenient.

This pub is ok when they actually have food on they advertise a carvery till 8 we turned up at 5.30 it was our 35 wedding anniversary and we wanted to go out for a special dinner we were going to have all three courses and a few drinks only to be told they didn’t have any carvery left really bad management to run out of food two and a half hours before closing we ended off coming home and our special meal was beans on toast it’s a ok pub for a quick meal but don’t go there for any special occasion they will just let you down

Ordered BBQ chicken loaded fries and was served frozen chips not fries with frozen strips of chicken covered with cheese and a squirt of BBQ sauce. Husband had pie of the day, said the pie was nice but the gravy was lumpy and too thick won’t be going back there again

Discussed pint Guinness gone upto £5.90 a pint, said to staff, cost gone down and owner has put up Guinnes to a very high price, even the staff agreed really hike up price, they too thought it was pure greed. Will not use this pub again.

Visited first time after lock down (I believe it’s opened under new management) on a Saturday afternoon. Booked a table for food and glad we did as it was very busy. The service was slow but this was mentioned on our arrival as they were under staffed and didn’t predict how busy it would be. However, the atmosphere was fab (lively, sport on the TV and a range of music was been played) and at the time we hardly noticed the wait between drinks and food! We ordered three different meals (Yorkshire Pudding, Cheeseburger and chicken and cheese baguette) portions were huge (for £6.95 each) and delicious. Lager and cider were reasonably prices too. Hopefully the place gets a well needed refurb under new management as it is the only negative - but I appreciate the pub has just recently reopened and Rome wasn’t built in a day! We’ll definitely be back.
