Costa Coffee in Stockport

Lovely little place the staff are very friendly and polite I had the chicken and spice toasted sandwich very nice would definitely visit again when I the area.👍👍

Earlier reviews are mostly really out of date, so you need a fresh snapshot. The fare is your typically Costa spread of things, popular for a reason. Staff at Marple are lively and fun. They do a real good job of juggling a steady throughput of orders, keeping customers and each other jollied along and fielding fielding banter very professionally from regulars such as me.

A really nice costa with very lovely and kind staff, delicious coffee as always and lots of seating. Parking is very close by, and the atmosphere inside is great

Hakf the frappe splot order wring and took forever waste of money not happy last time I'l be ordering again from costa, costa bomb.

Typical Costa. Outside seating a welcome bonus. Disabled friendly entrance, but not a lot of room inside the cafe for wheels. Guy who served us was polite, but pushy about us buying extras. Toilets were well equipped but definitely needed a clean. Reasonably priced car park a short walk away. Only bought coffees so can't comment on the food.

I like it here. Nice coffee but the whole place is badly in need of a refurbishment.

Had a blueberry frappe and it was very well made, really enjoyed it.

Yusuf was smiley, friendly and polite when he served me . Lovely team. The chocolate crispie cakes were delicious.

It is a great place to have lunch and a perfect cup of coffee, well relaxing and recommended..

Enough is enough! Yet another price hike. The franchise is really testing the loyalty of their customers. Were I to continue with my daily Flat White, I would be spending close to £100 a month on coffee! Ridiculous in these straitened times. A shame, as the staff are hard working and friendly.

Occasionally go here... it's so busy at peak times. For me the coffee is not strong enough but I don't like strong coffee so maybe ask for an extra shot. Possibly a Costa thing in general, not sure. Service is about as good as it can be but there are so many customers overwhelming the staff. Some nice Vegan options available.

Atmosphere could be cut with a knife: it seems that a whip-round is needed to raise the cost of turning on the air-conditioning. The store smells, as do the toilets. The furniture is tired and there is a general feeling of neglect. The staff are good, but appear to being let-down by their employer. This used to be a good place to visit - not any more!

Worst place for coffee bland and poor quality food poor and poor display

Very busy had to wait about 45 mins to get served. But it was hot.

Dirty, toilet leaking, no potwasher so everything in takeaway cups, ripped furniture. A really poor ambassador for the Costa brand.

As Usual as a busy spot for a little Costa. Service was super friendly and quick. Didn't have in everything we wanted but then it is close to Christmas.

Service was awful, staff stood around chatting and discussing staff members whilst customers were waiting.

Disgusting filthy place from tables to floor. Eventually found a table without pots but it was sticky and covered in crumbs. I Couldn’t wait to get out !!!

Very friendly staff even though they were rushed off their feet they took the time to make sure your order was correct. Their teamwork is 2nd to none.

The coffee machine was out of action and my drink of choice is an americano so not the best time to visit

I'm autistic and nonverbal; the staff here have been amazing at accomodating me and the staff had my order memorised even before I was an actual regular so I didn't have to struggle communicating it again. Makes my day any time I come in

Sat outside this store nice inside very busy

Used to be a good place to visit but has changed almost out of recognition. Air conditioning not switched on, so the atmosphere could have been cut with a knife - extremely unhygienic.

Visited with a friend , sat on one of the padded seats by the door, it was ripped and had so many stains on it, I felt uncomfortable sitting down, only other choice was hard wooden chairs, most of the tables needed clearing and wiping , we wiped the one we sat at ourselves ! Needs a good overhaul as let’s face it eating and drinking in there is not cheap, least they could offer is a clean, comfortable environment

I visit here quite often and I find the Marple Costa one of the best Costas. Always feel relaxed and the team are always nice and smiley.

Lots of empty cups left on tables and tables were not wiped down . Prices are quite expensive to have to sit at a dirty table

Great service staff always welcoming

A great place to meet others, excellent customer service. I was greeted by a friendly smile and didn't have to wait long for my Latte; found a quiet area by myself as I'd had a busy day so it was well worth it.

RUDE! The lady with blonde hair refused to let me use the toilet unless I purchased something first!? I fully intended on buying something but I needed to use the loo before I did. What a total disgrace. I suspect this was because I was wearing a hi-vis jacket at the time. If I’d have been wearing a suit I doubt I’d have been questioned. I won’t go here again. Pretentious, rude and overpriced. Spend your money elsewhere, like the Locks up the road. Much nicer coffee and you can use the loo at any point during your visit 👍.

My experience today was rude and unacceptable, i brought my own food in as i do not enjoy the choice of the M&S selection in-store. Unsure of the name, A woman with white/grey hair on the older side quite small approached me and my partner and told us we could not eat in here although we had spent £10 on just 2 coffee’s, i proceeded to ask why and she just said because we sell food in here. This was very rude in my opinion as i don’t feel asif they sell food to cater everybody and their dietary needs. We then sat outside ate our food and came back in to drink our coffee, having to sit outside to eat my food although i purchased a coffee in store was humiliating and degrading to say the least. I took a sip out of my coffee and realised i couldn’t taste any caramel after paying extra for caramel syrup. I then went and politely asked if i could have some more caramel as i couldn’t taste it. A forgein woman maybe chinese/phillepino said that i should’ve stirred it and added more pumps in, as i walked off the older lady with grey hair and the chinese lady both laughed as they was muttering quietly under there breath. As a barista myself at a competitive store, i would never ever want to make a customer feel the way i felt and i will most definitely not be returning.

Very helpful and efficient service. Reusable cups selling at half price so took advantage of the offer.

We went here a couple of weeks ago, I’m not sure if they were short staffed but the inside looked untidy, maybe something could be put in place so the customer could through there rubbish away when leaving to help the staff out

Went in on a Monday, lady who seemed to be managing was lovely and the customer service was second to none. Can park outside on main road for a quick takeaway , If staying you have Asda at the back or the ace park as well a couple of minutes away.

Great choice of cakes at end of the afternoon and very good service including tea served in a tea pot - rare these days when so often it’s a tea bag in a paper cup of milky water.

Ridiculous asked for a take away cup as didn't want to drink the whole coffee there and they said they can't that you have to drink what you want then come back in and then they will give you a takeaway cup. Eh no just give me a takeaway cup. Staff are well there are no words 🤣

Never order a frostino unless the manageress is in. No explanation to why it looked like and tasted the way it did today. Very poor and no effort made.

Costa marple. Coffee was a little weak. Staff very polite. Efficient and helpfull. BUT. The room needs painting. The walls were dirty with fingerprints etc. A coat of paint would bring it to life. But don"t be put off. It's still worth a visit. Here we are back in 2021 My wife now suffers from parkinsons The staff noticed and were unbelievably helpfull. Cant praise them enough.

OOga Booga - You cant fly to Columbia due to covid . Also have you never been to any coffee shop chain before ? costa , starbucks or nero? or in fact ever bought a take away coffee full stop ? I think youre living in some alternate universe where coffee is free and we can fly without restrictions, covid is a made up word and were supposed to believe your not a BOT .

Slower than other Costa stores, but the quality of the coffee is good as the others around

I went into the shop to no queue. I got served immediately. My questions answered. I ordered two hot chocolates, with cream and marshmallows which were enjoyed by my wife and, son along with flakes. I had a good decaff latte. Pleasant service and a, good experience.

For the price of one coffee I could have flown to Columbia, found the beans, ground the beans, put them in a cup, paid the locals to boil the water for me and flown back Probably would have been quicker as well.

Really unfriendly staff, I am 6 months pregnant and during a long walk I bobbed in to ask if I could use the loo. Three female barristers chatting behind the counter, all looked up at me as I walked in. No “hello”...no “how can I help you?” I just got three death stares. I asked politely if there was any chance I could use the toilet, my protruding stomach is a little bit of a give away so I assumed they would be a little more accommodating. Instead the response was “well toilets are for customers only”. I told them no problem and left to which I’m sure they probably sniggered and continued chatting. Quite honestly, they made me feel as if I’d just been caught stealing a toastie. If they had politely declined they would have been completely justified but they were arrogant and rude. Instead of frequenting marple Costa in future I will opt for a small locally run coffee shop who I’m sure will appreciate my custom during these difficult times. It’s the littlest things that can help people get by each day at the moment and a smile/some kindness really goes a long way.

Coffee was bog standard, but my main gripe was the poor attitude from the miserable old blonde woman behind the counter, it's unwarranted how rude she was. Word of advice, learn how to speak to people, it's kind of an important aspect of general customer service. Felt very unwelcome from the offset, I recommend giving your money to an establishment which deserves it.

Stopped there today for 2 drinks and a couple of toasted teacakes, I won't bother going again. Well over 20 minutes waiting time with only 3 people in the queue and 1 person being served plus 4 staff, not brilliant and some customers gave up queueing. Then when the teacakes arrived they were not buttered. I was given rock hard butter 2 flimsy plastic knives and the advice to use the public bench outside as a table to place my food on, whilst I buttered it, as I could not use any where inside. Also according to the staff it would be against the law for them to butter it for me. I felt that this statement was very strange considering they were preparing plenty of food for delivery. During the recent lockdown I have been to several takeaway places, all of whom have buttered my teacakes. I appreciate that times are difficult and we all have make allowances. But how a company treats you now is how you will judge them.

Good as can be thanks to the staff who do there best in these difficult times. Not as friendly as was you can't meet and talk.

Having used Costa in the past I will not be doing so again. I was treated very badly by one member of staff who very curtly informed me I couldn't use the loo unless I bought a coffee... Which I was about to do. I was using my phone and wearing my mask at the time as I was holding on for the RAC,which I explained to her. I approached the loo for which you need a key. When I asked her for the key she said very abruptly that I couldn't have it. Her attitude was appalling!! Fortunately the RAC delivered. Costa did not. So much for customer care!! I won't be back.

Not over impressed, on entry sign says wait for someone to show you your table. We waited for a while, then were told just to take any seat. We weren't sure if it was table service, no one said which so we went to the counter. Only dirty tables available with other people's mugs etc left on table, 4 staff and still wasn't cleaned by the time we finished our drinks and left. Won't be going back for a while.

There are staff in this Costa who do not value their customer's. We are all living in difficult times so why do you treat your customers like they are pests who you would rather not be bothered by?

Rudest staff I've ever come across, one was staring at us through the window as we sat outside, she came out and asked us if we had used the contact tracing app, her manner was very aggressive, felt like a criminal, next time I will go to the cafe in the square, much better polite service, I'll keep away from the chains, they don't need our money

Everyone that walks through the door seems to offend the staff based on the expression on their faces.

Usual coffee choices but wow, the manager is so curt and miserable she spoils the experience. Been in there a few times recently since it opened and she just never smiles, never says thank you or indeed is pleasant. I’d rather go to a petrol station and get the Costa machine option! What a shame!!

Amazing branch. Staff are really friendly. As for dirty tables yes there are some but perhaps if people took their pots to the counter for the staff it would help them as they are always busy serving customers. I always take my pots back as it's polite. Something which seems to be lacking in this day and age...

Vile coffee. Tea passable. Some staff are pleasant but one of two are rude and unhelpful. After asking one of them, who was muttering at me, to speak a little clearer without any luck, I explained that I was deaf as the result in a fall from a horse. Much tossing of head and she SHOUTED as loud as possible, followed by "Did you hear THAT?" The only thing to be said of the place is that it's a warm place to wait for the bus!!

I'd love to understand the attraction of these places. Staff are lovely but the coffee is served in vast containers, far more than you need, its tasteless and expensive and these chains suck the life out of the locality. Find a local owned one PLEASE

A bit cramped if you've got prams but otherwise, clean, tidy, warm and cosy. Decent coffee, served by polite friendly staff. Much like all Costa Coffees, a bit expensive for coffee and cake but nice cake and nice coffee plus the discount for using a reusable cup for takeout is handy.

Pleasant staff and coffee always good

I popped in here for a drink with my son. A very long and slow queue. Eventually took my order. i ordered a pleasant enough black forest hot chocolate. My son did not mind his tea. Comfortable chairs. A number of tables had not been cleared.Poor experience overall.

Woefully awfully croissants, seriously worst ever!! If it wasn't for the super cute bernese puppy in there it would have been one star.

This is a fairly generic chain coffee shop. Slowish but reasonable service. Loads of comfortable seats. Some cups needed clearing away. Decent latte. Overall good experience.
