Costa Coffee in Ballymena

I have used this particular coffee shop a few times now due to the fact that there are very few coffee shops open in town. Had a coffee and a large tea on Sat afternoon 16th Jan and was very impressed by the service of the young chap on duty. Took a time for my wife to choose her tray bake and this was not bother. Had both nealy placed in seperate paper bags. The young girl made our drinks with my wife being quite specific on what she wanted and this was promptly attended to. Was offered a carrying tray for the drinks and I noted that the young girl was very Covid aware as to how the tops were placed/put on the drinks. A very good experience - congratulations for a job well done. The tray bakes were excellent too I might add.

my husband ordered coffee and ginger biscuits. the thin male server who wore glasses made my husband feel like a second class citizen!!!! he practically threw the tray at him. it was absolutely disgusting the way my husband was treated by this member of staff. the only reason i gave 1 star was for the coffee which was adequate. definitely NOT the service. if i could i would give a rating of MINUS 50. that is how strongly i feel. the young male who served us should be severely reprimanded and taught manners. the person in charge of this place should be sacked...either that or ordered to give their staff a course on good manners. the shutters were pulled down at the end where the till is before 5.30p.m. i went to the rest room before we left and the toilet was rotten....i smelt it before i even went in. what kind of signal does that give to anyone?? whoever owns this place----get your act together!!

Dark,dreary and not overly clean, flies on traybakes and cake. The fella serving us was lovely, but unfortunately cant see us returning.

The staff do not like it here if you like adding your own milk ten out of ten for eye rolling and a tut added.

Called in mid morning with a friend for cuppa. Ordered a scone which I asked to be heated. Cutting through the scone it was very tough and certainly wasn't fresh, so disappointing as I couldn't eat it. The coffee shop itself was so cold and the fact that the wide cups aren't warmed, my tea was cold before I had half of the cup drunk. Costa need to up their game as there's plenty of other place to get fresh food and hot beverages.

Went in today for coffee and traybake but ended up only coffee as witnessed 2 flies (not tiny flies but normal size flies) crawling over all the uncovered buns/tray bakes. Glad I seen it as easily could have come along when flies had moved on and wouldn’t have known. Informed staff but nothing seemed to have happened. Then while having coffee at table fly was flying around - same fly/different fly? I’ve no idea but I did leave wondering why a coffee shop in Oct has flies and not just one? Really off putting and yet rest of coffee shop nice with lovely coffee and nice seating area.

Visit here quite a lot and love the coffee. The staff are friendly. My only complaint is that the service sometimes can be a bit on the slow side.

Out with a friend thinking we would go for a warm drink and a sit down. Customer service was standard to begin with. Served by a young girl with brown hair in a ponytail who was making our white HOT chocolates which appeared to be cold by the time we had sat at the table - disgrace. Presentation was awful and I would be utterly embarrassed to serve that to anyone. Also, whilst visiting the toilet it did not appear that they had looked at it at all throughout the day. Floor was soaking I’m lucky I didn’t fall and there were dirty tissues in the sink that I was expected to wash my hands in.Overall a very disappointing experience and I will never be back in a Costa coffee shop again if that is the standard of work they will accept.

This is meant to be a white hot chocolate... which is cold. Tastes like water it’s so bland absolutely awful for £3:40!!

Called in on Saturday and ordered coffee and tea. Asked for sugar. Sorry we don't have any white sugar was the answer!!!None delivered. Couldn't believe it. Why not buy a bag of sugar I thought. Also the food stocks were poor. Last time I will use that outlet.

I was in tonight had a lovely cup of tea and piece of banana loaf. Nice peaceful atmosphere, a change from too bright and noisey music!! Staff were helpful and cheery too 😊

Went in for a wee rest with my mum! Not impressed! The place is so dark, dreary and just lacks ANY atmosphere! Plus the counter is SO far away from the entrance! Tray we got our coffee on was boggin with sticky stains and wet! Napkins were soaked! I was given a saucer with my cup as they didn't have any clean ones!! Horrible visit!! Gettin the lowest rating available... a zero option should be there!!!

i love costa and try never to go anywhere else on my travels. this one is unlike any other i have ever been in throughout the uk. dark, grubby, dirty, uninterested staff. variety of food out of date . dishwater out of the sink would have been better and probably warmer. staff just want to chat with each other and play on their phones instead of keeping the tables cleared. the only way i would visit here again is if it was the last liquid available on earth

Called today and was so disappointed.

Coffee break with friend. Long slow queue, staff slow and inefficient. Variety of eats not great, all look as if they have sat for days. Beautiful space with huge potential but needs better menu and improved staff training.

Music was too loud and intrusive. Who wants it, would there be an outcry from customers if it were turned down or even off? I doubt it.

This was out first visit to Tower Centre Costa but will be in no hurry to go back. The sloppy barista wiping her nose on back of her hand, less than interested service, fingers in cups before making coffee and dirty tables isn’t a good start.

had coffee today In Costa, tower Center, Ballymena. It wasn't very busy but the staff were very slow in making the coffee. I looked for a clean table but none available. Dirty dishes sitting around and still like that when I left.

Very disappointed with costa. Staff more interested in chatting than working. Trays still sitting on tables with dirty dishes on them. My cup was dirty!! Will be a long time before I'm back.

Better than average Costa and certainly better than its sister outlet located near the cinema. Staff pleasant and polite and obviously better trained.

Great tasting coffee. Been here a few times now and have enjoyed sitting chilling though I have been in nicer Costa cafes. Staff were pleasant and I received fast service.

Large spacious cafe, generous portions of coffee but music can be a little too loud if you want a bit of peace and quiet.

I went to Costa Coffee in the Tower Centre on Wednesday 5th April. I ordered a decaf Hazelnut cappuccino and a croissant....each and every server that I encountered was equally professional, efficient and friendly. I was most thankful to the only girl that was on the staff that day as seeing that I was pregnant did not hesitate in offering to carry my try down to my table for me... being tired and uncomfortable I really appreciated this. The place was clean and tidy and all the staff seemed to do a good job clearing up tables promptly as it was quite busy. Will definitely be back, the coffee was perfect also!!

Met old work friend for coffee, busy cafe. Staff fast and efficient. Had a great sandwich and lemon tartlet. Sat for a long time chatting, very relaxed. Easy parking.

Recently visited this establishment for coffee. Staff were more interested in talking to each other than serving customers. The guy had trouble finding a clean teaspoon. When he did find two he lifted them by the bowl end not the handle. Disappointing

This is the new branch of Costa in Ballymena. While it looks like a majority of the Costa shops out there. This one isn't as good, service is poor and the seating isn't very good. Tables were clean enough. Service sadly isn't the quickest.
