Costa Coffee in Bolton

I love this newly renovated Costa, it's the nicest one I have visited. This is now my regular one. I much prefer this costa to the one over in next as they can make a decent drink and I never have any issues with my order! I find the staff at this shop very friendly. Erika is so lovely and patient, she's the stand out member of the team to me. The bright lights are the only taking away from the atmosphere in the new store in my opinion. It has lost it's cosy feel that it used to have.

Called in for a coffee after a little shop, people watching as you do and the lady behind the counter by the name of carly is a credit to this buisness she's lively friendly and I've been watching she's time of day for everyone. Pleasure to be in here today thankyou carly for lovely service

Called in for a latte with my husband before doing our food shop, was served pretty quick ,the shop is light and airey and just a few people in .

Star rating is for customer service and experience. Approximately 5 mins standing at the counter, next to be served, 3 staff behind the counter, all ignored me, after staring at all 3 people, 1 person looked put out to actually serve me. No greeting just 'yeah' without eye contact. After going away from the counter before coming back to get my drink (a large queue had now formed) I tried to check the drink on the counter was mine and again was stared at like I was an inconvenience. This is first time I have had a bad experience with costa. Please put the staff who worked this morning on some customer service training.

Omg. So slow. Think the staff need extra caffeine to get them working at an acceptable speed.

What makes this particular Costa is the staff, all absolute top of their game, service is quick and polite, they keep the place clean, it's a five star rating well deserved.

I hate these places but go due to my partner. The coffees are massively overpriced, the service takes forever as the 'barristas' flow of work system is mind bogglingly bad - for instance the queue was out the door and one 'barrista' just stood at the food microwave/oven and waited for 1 toastie to be cooked, likewise for the other employees. The atmosphere is also terrible as you can never find a table because selfish people go and sit and 'save' a table whilst waiting to be served which can be upto 20-25minutes, so you have people sat on a table not drinking coffee 'saving' it for the time it would take other people to have a coffee and leave - there should be a rule that you can only sit after being served unless disabled (which I am, I have MS but I don't have a problem standing waiting) Get it sorted

Decent enough to come for a relaxing coffee and chat in the afternoon. Cakes were quite tasty

A tired looking coffee cafe in need of a redecorating

Ordered a medium iced mango bubble tea and it was tasteless and had 3 bits of ice in it so was warm and majorly under filled, was too busy to bother complaining after waiting for 10minutes before actually ordering. Once ordered the wait time wasn’t too long however for the price you pay you’d expect quality to match it and definitely was not the costa standard I was expecting. Beyond dissatisfied and disappointed.

The place needs a bit of TLC on a numerous ways

Have a coffee cup end relax half hour. Feel the life.

I like this Costa because the staff are cheerful & friendly,my only criticism is the cost of the coffees now,i always have a medium skinny latte extra hot,it seems tobe going up in price every week!

Place was full, not enough seats to sit, we had to sit outside in Feb weather.

It's a busy little Costa, and as a chain, pretty much as you'd expect. Food is limited to overpriced toasties mainly, but if you're like me, it's just a coffee stop when in need and no independent alternative is available nearby. So, it's clean and the staff are great - professional and seem to enjoy their work. Atmosphere is that coffee shop vibe, a hubub of mixed conversations in various languages, with very quiet muzak underneath. Smells nice obviously. I had a cortado which hit the perfect balance needed to negate the need for any sugar. Nice artwork topped it off. Nothing spectacular but certainly a lot better than I could manage. You know what to expect, but the staff here make it an above average branch.

Great staff always happy to help with great snacks and coffees. Costa prices creeping up though far too often.

Wish they had more options for vegan cakes/desserts. Don't know why I got asked when I ordered soy milk for my coffee, was it a personal or dietary choice?

Need to make bigger and more facilities. Never room when I go and always a que.

Shocking!!! Had a Vegan cheese toastie and as it came out of the oven the lad behind the counter decided not only cut it on the meat “yellow” board but same knife and then tried to hand it over as if it was normal. With a stupid face on said “I can make another”. No apology no manners, had it not been for morning rush and children present he’d be in for some customer service training. Disgusting, such behaviour is allowed and clearly spoke to his colleagues whom all chose to ignore me like nothing happened.

Popped in to get 3 take out drinks. Big handwritten sign on the door saying 'Card payment only' store was very quiet for a large retail park and the atmosphere in the store reflected this. The only member of staff was efficient but not so friendly, she made 3 great drinks which were hot and well made.

This place has really good coffee and great customer service it also has a great amount of parking however the decor could do with a bit of a tidy or paint. The reason I like this place so much is it in the middle of a retail park so there is much to do before and after your coffee ☕

Friday 24th March and we visited this Branch of Costa which is located in Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park alongside the University of Bolton Stadium. At the time of our visit it was not very busy and our order was taken almost immediately. We ordered two flat whites, £3.15 each. Once the coffees were prepared, we found a table in the window area, which we had to clear before we could use it. We did notice a large number of tables that needed to be cleared but the staff appeared to have no inclination to do so. Maybe it is because the tables have been washed down so much, in recent times, that the varnish has been washed away, leaving the tables looking a bit shabby. Tables need a bit of attention, a sand down and coat of varnish. It was a good flavoursome cup of coffee, well prepared and correct temperature. Perhaps if the tables had been cleared up, it might have felt a bit more inviting.

Great service here as always, had my coffee and cake taken to my table as I use a walking stick. Service with a smile. The role hot chocolate was lovely as was the chocolate and caramel loaf cake.

Every time you go there, you have to clean the table yourself, unfriendly staff, not a good cafe!

Always enjoy visiting this Costa, the staff are very attentive & pleasant towards customers. I go there regularly, keep up the good work.

Very little interaction from the staff, very automated speech. Busy in the seating area as usual in the shop but chose to take away as the laptop users were taking up 1 of 4 seats at tables with plugs close by. I get we all work on the move but sat with what appears to be a tea or water doesn't warrant you a table for 4.

Very busy only had mostly Vegan food left. Not as much chocolate in the hot chocolate as there used to be. Come on Costa... don't put your prices up AND scimp on the product, that's not fair.

Decent Costa coffee it was exactly how you would expect it to be really. The stink of coffee beans and the hubbub of chatter from the customers. I had a black coffee americano and it was tasty to be honest.

Coffee shop was clean and tidy, all empty tables were cleared of any plates, cups & saucers etc. Drinks nice and hot, cake delicious as normal. Staff were pleasant and dressed in uniform. Plenty of carparking spaces. Toilet was clean and smelt nice.

This is my go to Costa whilst on maternity leave and the staff are wonderful! Always smiling and so very helpful! As always drinks and food on point too. Thank you to the staff for making my solo and baby trips out better.

Went to middlebrook today to start Xmas shopping and did quite well so needed a nice drink eventually. The place was busy so there was a short wait but we did get a seat. The hot chocolate wasn't hot but it was nice but the cake was quite delicious. One black mark was that tables didn't get cleaned as they were vacated. Come on folks, Covid is still here.

Went to Costa coffee today for a festive drink and I wasn't disappointed, I had the Terry's chocolate orange hot chocolate complete with whipped cream and a segment of Terry's chocolate, it was the most yummy hot chocolate ever, just what you need to get you in the festive mood and to warm you up on the cold winter months to come .

Friendly knowledgeable staff , my partner ordered a " Dry Latte " ??? " How dry " was the response ? Great tasting coffee !!

Consistent poor experience from this Costa. If you are going to replace multiple sausage sandwiches with bacon sandwiches, not put chocolate chips in a "mint chocolate chip frapp" and give us a melted cooler, don't accept the order. Cretinous behaviour.

Coffee is okay however i was disappointed for them to not be participating in the 50% off all food items (Monday-Wednesday) as its advertised everywhere including the Costa app.

Based in Europe’s largest retail and leisure park “Middlebrook”. Also home to Bolton Wanderers Football Club in the same grounds.

As always a good coffee. Working hard in tier 3 keeping things clean and serving up a great coffee and food.
