I've been coming to this place for years and the food is always delicious 😋

14/07/24 collected a simple common Dish, with boiled rice. The Chicken pieces were rock hard, burnt, dry, the veg was virtually raw. To hard work to eat, cardboard like dry burnt chicken, went in the bin. This used to be the A++ Chinese, had a few bad meals now so not a one off!, I’ll find another takeaway, from now on!!!

We ordered our food, took it home and the food was disgusting. The chow mein was dry, the gravy was bland, the cheese tasted plastic and the scraps were burnt. We payed 17 pounds for a disgusting meal, when I called I started the phone call (intending to ask for a refund) with: "Hi I'm so sorry but I just ordered here and wasn't satisfied with the meal and was hoping to get a refund" the man on the other line immediately started yelling, cutting me off, and telling me I didn't know what i was talking about and was trying to get a refund even though there is nothing wrong with his amazing food. He even insulted where I am from judging my accent and making rude comments. His attitude was just as disgusting as the food and this place is a disappointing scam. Stay clear.

This place has gone down hill. 3 chippy meals ordered all 3 complained. Gravy gloopy and salty. Potions small. Fish was ok. Not a pleasant experience. Think we will be trying somewhere else in future.

Very disappointing, unfaithful restaurants, they charge me extra money, I only realised later. Food is not tasty, very expensive than all other Chinese restaurants and so small, Bad experience.

My missus has just been in and they charged £1 for using cash card. This is pathetic and day light robbery. I wouldn't have paid it myself. Please explain the reason for this golden House.

Best lightily battered fish and chips i had in a while . All fresh in resonable price. Loved it.

Very friendly, very helpfull, very tastey and good size portions. Always talkative with good humor when I go. I eat here at least once a week. I fully recomend the Golden House to everyone, I used this takeaway for years never any complaints. I recommend anything you like, you wont be disappointed very good cooks.

Absolutely vile will never eat here again the chips was raw 🤮 and the gravy most of it was on the outside of the tray!!

Here’s a tip; try changing your oil once in a while. The slight doughnut smell should be a giveaway. Chips were a little on the raw side, fish was nicely cooked but the crispy batter had a tiny of just verging on being off oil. Everything else was acceptable, just on the verge of being justifiable given the cost.

Food is fresh and tasty, the portions are always good.

Service is brilliant can’t fault it but when you get food what’s burnt it’s a big no go.

Been coming here for years and never had a bad meal but tonight I ordered beef in Cantonese sauce, I asked for pieces and it came shredded , it was inedible , the beef was like gristle, I couldn't chew it , rang up and the lady said I ordered strips which I certainly did not , she did offer to replace it but it would mean going all the way back to farnworth from westhoughton, we don't think we will order from here again ,had to throw it all in the bin .

Best Chinese chippy this side of the river croal been going for years and stand has never dropped highly recommended

Nice food ,little pricy for quality/ quantity ,friendly and helpfull staff, we will return to try more of the menu :)

Use to use this chippy regular back in the 1990s.remember the owners first taking over .food has always been good and not changed.really enjoyed seeing Paul when used to serve me back then and still serving up good chippy and Chinese food.A1.ill be back .

Chicken curry absolutely disgusting inedible missed part of our order for collection picked order up then had to go back for missing items phoned to give feedback the member of staff needs sacking very rude £25 pounds down the drain DONT GO HERE lots of decent Chinese restaurants around

Sorry no pictures it went straight in the bin. £8.50 for a handful of chips & non descript rock hard battered items. Politely called to give the place feedback just to be told I was wrong. No customer service. Don't waste your hard earned money. £17 quid on what was supposed to be a treat on a Friday night.

Great chippy, great service. If you ask for a sausage dinner you get 2 small sausage, chips, peas, gravy and fried onions all for £3.50.

Just made our very last visit to golden House, very disappointed, I don't know what has happened to the potions, but they are pathetic.. I used to love this place... Its gone down in my estimation !!👎 😔

Food wasnt nice tonite...Fresh fish had half a fish fillet in it the rest was all batter...The chips were scraps and black and hard...wont be going there again

Got the order wrong.. took everything back and asked for it to be replaced to the correct order.. they refused AND refused a refund.. after about 30 minutes we finally got a refund but we are now banned 🤦🏻‍♀️

Really nice food get plenty too and the special dried rice is awwwww so good nowhere else does the special fried rice as here trust me it's the best

Wanted haddock and chips, they only have cod. Decided to have pie instead it wad too dry, microwaved into oblivion. Very disappointing but curry sauce was fab so might try Chinese food next time

Been going to this takeaway for years and NEVER had a bad meal yet

Poor customer service. They supplied special fried rice with a wet sauce on top and I wasn't asked initially if I wanted the sauce. They refused to take responsibility instead blamed me for not telling them how to make the fried rice. I have never bought such appalling special fried rice from other places, it's a no brainier that a fried rice should be fried and not wet. Please do avoid this place if you don't want to be disappointed with the food .
