Costa Coffee in Bridgend

I prefer independent coffee shops, but return here again and again as its the only place in Porthcawl with real consistency. It's always a nice atmosphere with cheerful staff, who are clearly longterm as many of the local older people are friendly with them. Nice clean environment that has been updated over last few years and drinks are always made up to a good standard. Does what it says on the tin, with a warm welcome.

Urgh not good! The place is run down and scruffy. The staff seem miserable no smiles or welcomes. Coffee was very average for the price. Needs a revamp of decor and staff

Oh dear what a flop! This was not the worst cost I’ve ever been to, but it was close! Miserable staff, bland coffee Extortionate prices. Unfortunately, I found it quite dirty too not the best Costa. You need to pull your finger out and higher your standards.

Bought a surprise bag for £3.50 at night should have been £11.00 worth of food that was not sold in the day all i got was a sandwich and 3 cookies not worh the money never buy here again

Although the service and the coffee was good, the actual place is very unclean rundown good job I had my hand sanitiser & wipes With me which I felt I needed to clean the chair on the tables before I sat down very overpriced £10 for two coffees will not be coming here again

Popped here for a coffee and it was ok! Costa is very overpriced these days for average coffee. We had cake too brownie , lemon tart, bakewell tart so for 4 of us can to £34. Very expensive

Called in on 20 4 24 Charged £9.60 for two decaf flat white coffees! What a rip off! Next time I'm in the area, I'll be sorting you out! By the way, get that stupid system of going to the toilet sorted, old people can see codes or code machines!

Always good service, sometimes hard to find seating. No problems otherwise. Always clean, pleasant environment to enjoy coffee/snack

Good coffee, great staff but they lose a point on cleanliness. It's not that they don't try but it's often too busy for anyone to clear up properly.

We called here last week. The tables were very dirty, and there appeared to be no available staff to clean them, let alone the rubbish on the floor. Prices were extortionate, and staff were really stretched.

Ideal for a chatty get together! In the middle of town, so easy to get to when your feet are tired! Roomy, good for push chairs and wheel chair users. Lovely, lovely staff! Don't forget to bring your own cup for money off!!

Visiting porthcawl wanted a coffee called into Costa.wanted to sit outside. Only 2 tables out side one in use other table still with previous customers cups etc .had to clear table ourselves and take to counter .(tables out of sight out if mind). Coffee not that bad but they need to ensure tables are ready for use.

I drink at Costa a lot. You'd imagine a chain should produce fairly uniform product but nothing could be further from the truth with Costa; coffee quality varies immensely from one day to the next in the same shop. Beans, Baristas, etc. I also use independent coffee shops, Neros, and pride myself on making a pretty good double-espresso at home. I don't patronise Starbucks! I called into Porthcawl Costa's recently, was served by 2 guys with names beginning with K, (I think 'Ken' was the Barista?) Probably just total fluke, Beans, Baristas, etc. but I was sold this smooth intense espresso which was absolute perfection, (and the like of which I have never been served before anywhere, as a long-standing espressoholic).

Popular with the locals. really tasty cappuccinos but latte? not so sure. Snacks good choice not cheap but you have quality biscuits etc. Love the location and comfortable of this venue can eat outside in small area.

Great staff nothing to much trouble ,can get very busy . Good coffee tables were cleaned ,and a child had tipped her drink the staff came over and cleaned up ,told the little girl that was with her family ,don’t worry we all have slip ups it not a problem

On a cold day it was lovely and warm inside. Quite busy,lots of ladies meeting up for coffee,Staff friendly. We ordered a medium coffee and a medium chocolate,cannot imagine the size of large ones !medium ones were BIG.

big cups of Costa coffee in a very warm and comfortable lounge very busy a lot of the time can sit in the garden on a fine day with all amenities within walking distance of the town. Near the sea front ,caravan park ,children's Park and theatre of local Pavilion. They provide cakes and biscuits with small snacks same as all the other Costa cafe's. Very Popular nice staff.

Fabulous coffee, cakes etc very expensive. Good service, the cafe is always very clean and friendly it also caters for little children

Whilst shopping in town we wanted a coffee so called into this cafe which was absolutely packed out on a Tuesday morning! We did find a table inside, there were outside seats but it was a bit chilly for that. The staff were lovely both the lady who served me and the barista chatted to me. Nice coffee and good service.

Called in today for an informal meeting with 2 others. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The cakes and snacks all looked scrumptious and I had to stop myself ordering lots.This Costa is situated very centrally in Porthcawl town so is great for a pit stop at any time. The de caf tea I had was very weak unfortunately. The toilet seat was not clean and was badly, long time stained and either needed a good clean or replacement. There was no soap to wash your hands in the dispenser. The staff seem super busy there. There is also a place at the back for eating/drinking al fresco. Overall a reasonable experience.

Typical Costa Coffee, good staff and very efficient. Helped with seating and clearing up when requested.

Visited after sunday lunch as dying to try the 3 tier layer lemon cake.

The coffee really woke me up. However the waiter's halitosis was quite overwhelming and somewhat ruined the whole Java experience. Nice selection of daily papers and charity flyers, rather unpleasant looking customers.

Whilst doing a bit of shopping in Porthcawl we called into this Costa for coffee.

I frequent this Costa as it's close to me and I have always received a nice and courteous service, very friendly and helpful staff but I have been in there and seen my food being handled without tongs as well as straws being put into drinks using bare hands etc.

I love Costa coffee so I look for them everywhere I go, this one is nice and large with an outside seating area at the back of the shop. The place was clean and the staff polite and helpful. It's another great Costa ticked off my list

We had been here only a month ago so we decided to revisit.

This Costa is the best I have been in. I have twin grandchildren and the staff are very accommodating and helpful. Nice atmosphere too.

Whilst on a day out in porthcawl we fancied a coffee so went to Costa coffee on the Main Street it's a nice Little coffee shop, pleasant staff and a nice cup of coffee

As part of our wedding anniversary present from our daughter there was a voucher for Costa.

I love Costa Coffee I really do.

Usual high Costa standard but with Welsh hospitality added in. We enjoyed our visit here, lots of room and very clean and friendly

So good having a Costa in Porthcawl had a winter stroll not too long ago. Popped in here for a nice hot drink to warm up was well worth it.

Costa came to porthcawl last year, and what a success, always busy, staff friendly service can be a bit slow at certain times, particulary popular with sixth formers during term time.

What you expect from Costas you get, staff are friendly, although sometimes not enough of them. Plenty of seating inside and out

The staff worked very hard in this costa, they are very polite, and the food is very good,as are the drinks....the toilets need to be checked more regular though.

Nice coffee but waited a while for it. The cafe is in a lovely spot,? We sat by the window which was nice. The floor was covered in crumbs and I think papers which had blown in from outside.

In Porthcawl town centre on a Sunday, in the main shopping street, after looking at 8 cafes that were open this Costa was the only venue that had a `5` hygiene rating..all the others were between 2-4, which shocked me a bit.
