Costa Coffee in Sunderland

Thank you for keeping my mobile safe until I returned. This is one of my favourite Costas, yes it’s busy at times but the staff manage the flow well. Drinks always delicious. But I especially rate the team today after I realised I’d dropped my mobile in store but thanks to an app realised it was safe with them. Colleague was lovely and took necessary (appreciated) precautions to make sure it was indeed my phone. Thank you so much

Called in while wife was at shops nearby, staff friendly and a nice cup of coffee. Sausage sandwich wasn’t the best hence 3 stars

Busy all day, very popular with the locals. Lovely polite and efficient staff, they serve quick and keep the place very clean. Typical Costa coffee so you'll know what to expect. The food is tasty but expensive like all coffee shops.

Service was really poor, had bought and paid for 2 lattes and a babychino chocolate for my daughter… my daughter noticed they had cream so asked if they could pop some cream on top and was told only if I paid 50 pence extra!!! Seriously. Just pop it on, it’s a tiny bit for the child!

Ordered a smoked bacon roll & cappuccino. Bacon roll was poor.

Coffee fine, staff awful. Went here a few times after work, three staff behind the counter who couldn't seem to produce a coffee within a reasonable time. After paying I was told to take a seat while my brew was being prepared. My gripe: when the coffee is ready staff simply yell out to tell you to come and get it. What is the problem with chains like Costa? Are they sooooo worried that if one customer gets a coffee delivered to their table their whole business model will collapse? I don't appreciate being yelled at or having to get up and down just to have a coffee. I won't be back.

Staff are very friendly and the beverages are too. But, one batista cannot make the coffees correctly so if we see certain person on the machine we don't enter the café.

Hard to review Costa as they are consistent from store to store.

I met a friend for a catch up at this costa. The staff were friendly, and we didn’t feel like there was any pressure to leave immediately after we had finished our drink and cake, which was nice. This coffee shop has a welcoming atmosphere and I’ll definitely be returning in the near future.

26th October 2021 12:20 Tall Long haired lady who served me was extremely rude for absolutely no reason! She didn't start with a simple customer service (hi , hello what can I get you ECT. ) Instead with a loud tone "take out or sit in?" Absolutely terrible experience and funny thing was she was extremely polite to the person behind me after she served me. 100 percent back to Starbucks where ethnic minorities treated well and respectfully.

Sells coffee. It's decent. Espresso was alright, had caffeine in it.

Your normal coffee shop. Small in size compared to others stores. With outside seats so you can relax outside in the sun. The staff are very friendly and will help you out. On site toilets. And a good size carpark. Also near a bus route.

First time we'd visited this Costa. Seats available outside, approximately five tables with chairs. Service excellent and very clean. Plenty of parking space

I visited yesterday for a coffee and bun. There were two young men working who were extremely polite and helpful throughout the whole time I was there they worked serving and cleaning. They smiled and continued great service to everyone who came in. Young people don’t usually get the credit they deserve but these two young men are a credit to the company and theirs families.

Called yesterday for a coffee as I had an hours wait before I could collect the dog from the vets. Decided to try the filter coffee which was very good👍👍👍 made the mistake of ordering a large coffee and was presented with a huge volume in a very large mug. Won’t do that again . Staff very pleasant The downside was the amount of tables that were dirty and still had used crockery on them. Very disappointed as you would expect the staff would want clear tables so more customers can sit in.

Food and drink are good, but the room has terrible accustics, struggle to hear person at same table, would only take a little room treatment, sadly won't return.

Not cheap but always good quality coffee and food.

Was here yesterday with grandson we both had cheese and ham toastie and a latte it was lovely and made fresh the staff serve quickly and are friendly and helpful a lovely clean place

Having stopped going to this costa because the tables didn’t seem to get wiped and the poor attitude of some of the staff, I returned today. I returned as I heard that it had changed. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the cafe had had a fantastic makeover. However I was disappointed to find messy tables. I witnessed tables being cleared but not wiped. Shame.

Couldn't get a basic order right. Think the staff either need re training or sacking. If a person can't do the job then others will

Tried a Costa Mocca for the first time cos I normally have flat white. This was absolutely wicked.

Have been a few times to the Costa coffee in the Galleries. They do lovely coffee and have a wide range of tasty scones and muffins. I like to go here as they sell gluten free muffins which are delicious and well worth a treat once in a while. However you need to have time to spare as they are extremely busy and if you need a loo would have to go elsewhere.

I visited this store and was very impressed with the service I received. I am gluten free and therefore very cautious when eating and drinking out. I asked if their Summer berry Cooler drink was gluten free, I felt reassured after a member of staff called Shannon checked the allergens list and advised me of the ingredients. Shannon also pointed out other gluten free products, this girl is a credit to your store. I will definitely return.
