Costa Coffee in Braintree

Massively overpriced..3.65 for a flat white that was served luke warm... not impressed waiting for the fancy leaf design created in the froth...just wanted a hot, fresh coffee... dreadful

I don't normally bother reviewing coffee house chains, but this one was worth it for the fastest barrister I've ever seen. It was like watching a performance. Unfortunately didnt get her name! Second notable thing was how quickly and efficiently the tables were cleared and cleaned when vacated, and it was really busy when we were there.

Fantastic, ex coach house. Wonderful beamed ceiling with the original ‘The Horn’ pub sign hanging inside. Service is brilliant and friendly. Needless to say, caffe is delicious . Must admit, that is the case in the majority of Costa outlets. Thanks guys

The staff are absolutely lovely, special shout-out to the lovely lady with red glasses, she took her time with my young nephew who wanted to order for himself even recommending him different hot chocolate flavours and taking into account to make it cooler for him so he didn’t burn himself.

A good cafe of which the staff are first class and the reullar staff have a very good memory of he usual order or ordered one has.

Could have been ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - The staff are wonderfully helpful and pleasant. The food and drinks are to Costa standard... the only two things were the old-pub style atmosphere/ layout and no internet- they might as well announce that they do not have any WiFi because there’s nothing more frustrating than having a false sense of security that there is WiFi only to realise that 3G works far better!

One of the more, in town type, Costa Coffee. An old building that was once a coaching inn with the original swaying sign still on the wall inside. Service is brilliant and, naturally, the coffee is fantastic. Plenty of space inside, even with half the tables not being in use due to Covid-19 precautions. Tables always sanitised after the table is cleared. Gives a feeling of safety in this dangerous environment. Worth a visit if in the area and you want a good coffee and relax.

So I walked in at 12:30 with my dad which we where welcomed by nicole who was very polite and welcoming to me and my dad. But today my dad had a cappuccino,sandwich and crisps and I had my usual of a salted caramel crunch coffee no cream. My dad loved what he had but I couldn't say the same about my drink which didn't taste as it normally does so I had to bring the drink back on which the staff where so understandable and took on board what I said and they offered me another drink which I said no too. Except from that it was lovely to come here.

De beste koffie voor ons en een chocolademuffin is ook niet te versmaden. Hoeft nooit lang te wachten en als je veel koffie drinkt zoals wij verzamel je veel punten op je kaart, die je dan vervolgens kan gebruiken om gratis te drinken.

Coffee is great, I am fussy with my cappuccino and they get it spot on, unlike Tesco Costa. Staff are so friendly, like friends, familiar welcoming.

Coffee was amazing but the rudest miserable young lady ever attitude was discussing she didn’t seem to want to be there and the way she was with every customer was just rude I work in retail no matter what you smile and be polite don’t think it be a stop for me again

Average in terms of the coffee...not as good as most independents or Cafe Nero, not bitter enough, toastie too soggy, staff preferred to talk to themselves than concentrate on good service.

I have visited this restaurant a couple of times recently for coffee and food. Staff are very pleasant and the coffee and food are fine. The interior of this building seriously needs a complete makeover. It's rather drab and shabby. Not the most appealing.

Had lunch here today. Food lovely, service fine but for goodness sake someone needs to put the tea pots, milk jugs and cutlery in a dishwasher. To put it bluntly they were pretty grim. I would have happily given 5 stars if these items were clean

As per greeted warmly by my willing crew with my order being repeated back to me before I open my mouth. Take my usual place have a chat with the great staff more like friends than staff. Play a few tunes have fun. Perfect

But whilst service was better than previous visits the coffee just isn't up to the mark. Round the corner you can get Illy coffee which tastes so much better

Friendly staff, nice coffee (I usually have a flat white), but the wifi is dreadful and the place is cold. They rarely have any newspapers. Turn on the heating and invest in decent wifi and this place could be great!!!

Good quality products of food and drink though the choice of food a little limited, The staff and environment are pleasant.

Went in for a coffee the other day and was greeted with poor and reluctant customer service. I ordered a flat white and it was FAR too strong. The milk was watery and thin - clearly too much effort had gone into making ridiculous patterns that dissipate within the first sip anyway than the taste and quality of their beverages. Will not be coming back.

Very clean .staff friendly .what else can you say about a Costa coffee shop .must say have been too some costa and teapots disgusting .but this one nice and clean

Popped in for a quick drink today. Staff were mostly very friendly but one member of staff looked miserable! We had two frostines which were very good. Lovely old building.

What a shocking and appalling experience at a Costa Coffee

Set inside what was part of the Horn Hotel this Costa is rather charming in the rear seating area, the front of house is small and can seem quite busy. After you get served in my case by friendly and efficient staff, make your way through to the comfortable and quite spacious seating to relax in a lovely beamed area. The coffee is the standard that you get with big chains, it won't set the world alight but is reasonable. You can get a basic toasted sandwich, crisps and a medium coffee for a fiver, and I do like some of their sweet treats.

Most Costa premises are located in modern buildings, light and airy. This Costa has it's home in a quaint old building with a fairly modern facade. The servery is at the front of the building, but the majority of the seating is towards the rear. There is a high, beamed, ceiling and the lighting is low. I imagine the building has some history and it would be interesting to see pictures and information about it on the wall.

Staff friendly but slow in serving. Would go back as long as I wasn't in a rush, seemed more concerned with making snack display look pretty than quickly serving customers. When I was served they were friendly and polite though

Nice surroundings, helpful staff and good coffee but you sometimes have to queue. Take away or dine in. Plenty of tables.

I always try to find a Costa for a good cup of coffee. In Braintree the shop looks small but this is deceiving as it spreads to the rear. Comfy seating, as in most Costas, with quick friendly service.

Two early morning visits whilst working in Braintree. The first, the staff had a long chat with a customer they clearly knew well, whilst I waited to be served. The second dsy i was served by the Manager who was efficient and speedy. However in between went to a non chain Cool Coffee shop. Better service and much better coffee. The Costa brand has grown too big and now provides just a bland service with equally bland coffee.

Zoals altijd heerlijke cappuccino met een double chocolate muffin. Jammer dat je niet buiten kan zitten, maar er is binnen genoeg plaats.

As always great coffee served quickly and efficiently, even when I ordered the wrong drink for my friend, changed without a quibble or extra charge.

I went into Braintree costa at lunchtime staff are very nice and friendly but sadly talk longer then need to when people on lunch.

Coffee shops ONLY exist for the sole purpose of sitting in a warm environment waiting for time to pass as you wait for the MOT to be done on your car or for your photos to be developed (if that's still a thing) or to hide from the impending destruction of the world. No, no not that. But whatever the reason a - yes just "a" as in one - newspaper would be appreciated. No newspaper but there was "sticky" on the table.

My only problem with here is the wait in line for coffee when it feels so enclosed in, so close to the patrons who are lucky enough to be able to sit down and enjoy their coffee. But the coffee is lovely, as is what you can eat, I expect.

A lovely place to meet and catch up with friends. The staff are very friendly and very efficient. Helps you feel relaxed.

This Costa is set in a historically beautiful building with beams etc. Polite and quick service, with nice coffee and food. The Freeport branch could learn a lot from this one.

There's a very loud Italian that works there, So if you're looking for a quiet coffee avoid. Plus very little room for getting to the seats as you have to past the wating people to get to them.

I always prefer Costa to any other make and this particular coffee shop is so friendly, the staff are always very polite and would do all they can to make sure you are happy with your purchase.

really hot day so I tried one of the iced coffees, excellent. staff very friendly and service good despite the fact they were busy. the air con was so very welcome!. generous size of coffee and not expensive. must add that despite the flow of people, the loos were spotless. cakes were delicious. staff quick to clear tables and clean them so they were ready for the next customer.

Had a three person business meeting here. The tables are well spaced, meaning that you can have a private conversation without feeling intruded upon. Hot chocolate really good. Great place. Quaint atmosphere.

Like all Costas in my experience, The service was pleasant and the coffees and cakes good. The tables were cleared and wiped down regularly even though it was quite busy.

An average, although rather uninspiring Costa. The service was however reasonably speedy....and efficient in serving customers

So this is Costa and they are all very similar but what sets this one apart are the manager and his staff.

Excellent as always, The manager and staff really care. The food is always perfect, the Coffee is excellent. Can be difficult getting a table at times, but it is worth the wait. Great way to break up the shopping.

A beautiful building with plenty of seating. Prices are OK as dictated by franchise. Coffee ok but have got to be honest not as good as any coffee outlet in Perth WA.

Pleasant coffee shop nice and cosy and clean but thats what it is a coffee shop not a children's play area

Come here at least 3 times a week. the staff are amazing, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Best costa I've been too. Keep it up guys

Excellent staff ,friendly always smiling,nothing's ever too much trouble. Clean tables and the bathrooms clean. Always great coffee n cakes.

If you are looking for excellent service and perfect coffee every time, this is the place to go. The manager is hands on, the staff is dedicated and due to the popularity there is queue at times. But it is definitely worth the wait. It is the perfect outing for the whole family.
