Costa Coffee in Edinburgh, City of

Visiting there with a pal. She had a latte and she loved it and I had a Chai Latte which one of my favourites, I loved it. Bit busy on a Sunday afternoon. Friendly male staff.

0826 2024 Pink lemonade and Chai latte Carrot and walnuts cake We said no sugar when ordering, but it was still very sweet and uncomfortable to drink. But the cake is quite delicious The signal here is poor but there is free Wi-Fi There seems to be only one clerk and the service attitude is pretty good.

Sometimes, the selection on offer is limited. Also, occasionally, it closes at 4pm when it is advertised to be open until 6pm.

Good place to go to for a snack. However, they don't always have in store what you are looking for.

Love this branch!! I know Stockbridge is full of small independent cafes and sure definitely support them. But for a large space to sit and relax and save some money THIS IS IT. For a chain I can't really fault it. Nothing special about it OTHER THAN the excellent staff. It's them that make me come back. Huge shout out to Lulu & Cameron. BEST BARISTAS EVER. They always make me smile.

Food is ok for a snack but not the best tasting and very expensive as with the coffee very expensive and costs more than a pint of beer for a large coffee.

Used to be a good shop. Service now pish. Only one person on during peak times. Could not have been slower service.

Had a coffee and a cake, salted caramel brownie was very nice and moist. Canteen style atmosphere but was only in for a quick pit stop, staff were friendly.

Great casual atmosphere, we were lost so popped in and had a coffee, staff were friendly and they had an upstairs which was great and cosy.

As others have implied . As a company Costa no longer seem to take pride in their service. Staff lack people skills and are arrogant without the intelligence or drink making skills to back it up. The Chinese looking girl has been rude and off hand to me . For no reason just asked for a latte. With some of their sauces . Got hot milk and no coffee . When I brought it back she tried to blame me for her own oversight . Rather then knock up a fresh shot she gave me left overs . Service is slow despite staff circulating lots of dirty tables . If the government actually had some balls and restricted the number of Costa’s in the city I believe the service would get back to what it was like before . When the staff took pride in their job .

Visited on a Saturday afternoon - mistake number one. This is just your standard run down bog standard Costa. You are greeted at the door with the "There, I fixed it" hazard tape fixing some problem with the flooring. You can almost carbon date this with the wear on the tape - it's been there a long time and there is no prospect on the horizon of it being removed and repaired. Seating - there are seats, but they are generally filled with people that are on laptops not consuming products they've bought at the coffee bar hours ago. They're doing literature review for uni or somesuch. What seating is present is quick to be filled. We were fortunate to catch a table with someone leaving. Coffee Bar - Cake selection looked OK. Fridge selection was meagre. Drinks were ordered and a pre-packaged mince pie tart purchased - turns out I got double charged - which was fixed, but really shouldn't have happened. Drink production seemed to take far longer than you'd expect - despite there being at least 4 people working that day, not one of them sat at the coffee machine solidly to produce drinks. They seemed to be off to the back area for "stuff". Tables - these are your standard coffee shop tables. Sticky tops and wobbly legs. Detritus - As with any coffee shop on a weekend there were tables filled with trays of empty coffee cups and plates. Again, cleanup seemed to take 2nd fiddle to other tasks requiring their attention. There's not even a self-service station to do your own cleanup, which at this point would be advantageous. Returning - only if I'm caught once again in the rain far from my car. Otherwise, I'd select another shop somewhere on Raeburn Place for my caffeinated bean juice requirements.

Gone downhill. Food chiller for heated rolls and sandwiches empty on a number of occasions despite it not even being past peak lunchtime. Allow for more stock!! When you do get a roll, it's not given nearly long enough in the machine to heat/cook fully and to top it off you get a tepid rather than hot tea to go with it. Doesn't compare well with other better Costa branches. Won't be back.

Στο συγκεκριμένο καφέ πήγα την πρώτη φορά που επισκέφτηκα το Εδιμβούργο , μου άρεσε και πήγα ξανά . Πέρασαν καμμία 15 χρόνια αλλά ήταν και πάλι υπέροχα.Ίσως είναι και η περιοχή που του δίνει αυτό το ιδιαίτερο χρώμα

Lots of dirty tables. Staff miserable and I’m guessing the lady was learning as she had to check everything with another staff member. But in between customers she was out chatting and sitting with some young girls who came in that she seemed to know. We saw several people come in, look around at empty dirty tables, and then leave without ordering… not up to usual Costas standards at all …

Friendly staff, at least the coffee was hot unlike our Costa back in bridlington

Costa is like the UK Starbucks. Whenever I needed wifi I dipped into a Coasta for a tea.

A very large Costa restaurant with friendly and efficient staff

How I have a feeling that the staff is kind of forced to work here ! Each time I visit this place, I am always disappointed with how the staff behaves, absolutely pathetic... I don't even know if they have ever managed a smile in life, or if it's just working at Costa that makes them put a shallow face. Not that I expect them to lay a red carpet for me, but a response to a morning wish should be enough. Sorry , but not welcoming at all ! Food wise, like all others Costa, quite decent and the place is relatively quiet and helps me get some peaceful work for a few hours.

Good service, good coffee. Place was clean just wish it would open earlier.

We regularly visit this coffee shop with (and without) our young children over all the other many options in the area because of the team. Particularly manager Andres and one other gentleman who is often there (don’t know the name sorry). Always a warm welcome and they are very attentive and friendly, thank you so much

It's Costa coffee, what more can I say! Unfortunately still not serving sugar free/no added sugar cake or biscuits.

despite being among my favorite places, I don't understand how it is possible that such a place is so neglected in such a beautiful neighborhood as Stockbridge

Food and coffee is absolutely fine. However, please add WI-FI so that we can use our mobile phones. If reception is poor generally, then fit a booster signal/system and see how that can be improved. Always strive for near perfection.

Staff very friendly being a regular they know what I want before I ask

A well managed branch with friendly and efficient staff. The usual Costa coffee, a range of sandwiches and snacks including some newer vegan options.

Good standard of coffee in a great location. Please invest in a sander to fix the sticky tables though.

Not up to standards l have come to expect at other Costa 's coffee lukewarm when asked for xtra hot .barista somewhat disinterested

*WORST Costa experience in the UK.* All staff look as though they’re not focused on their work. They were chit-chatting with each other while they should have been responding to us. Although I didn’t complain about these things they gave me a totally wrong drink that I didn’t ask for at all! In addition, there are only two sockets that we could find to connect our laptops to and the wifi connection is atrocious - we couldn’t connect for 30 minutes.

나는 오늘 카푸치노를 주문했다. 그런데 커피 위에 시나몬 파우더가 없어서 왜 없냐고 문의했더니 직원이 시나몬 파우더가 없다고 했다. 너무 어이 없었다. 이건 그냥 카페라테다. 코스타의 직원은 시나몬 파우더가 떨어졌다면 카푸치노 주문시 이야기를 해주거나 주문을 받지 말아야 한다. 직원 너무 무책임하다.

Called in for a breakfast roll and coffee...have to say the staff were so friendly and went the extra mile to make this one of the best visits to Costa I've experienced. Happy 😊

Typical Costa - lots of tables, well laid out, dead friendly, great coffee (and Lemon Muffins). Been here several times, will go again.

It's a chain coffee shop but I actually like it. Great quiet vibe to just sit and people watch. I usually go for a work-from-home break and the kind lady who seems to always be working is super attentive. She always asks me if I want a croissant with my coffee. Being that I try to mind my carbs the answer is always, "no", but one day my dear, one day! haha. Very kind of her to tempt me.

Its always good nice coffee the cakes a bit pricey and they have made them smaller but there opposition are the same but I always go back.

Friendly staff and clean, but freezing cold. It's the middle of winter and no heating. If it's £3 for a coffee you should be able to have some heating on... And it's like this every time I go, I need to keep my hat and coat on and I'm not alone.

Clean and tidy place . Coffe and tea hot. Terry chocolate orange muffin was lovely.

Overpriced, bad tasting coffee and poor customer service. I wanted to pay with gift card and loyalty points but the staff here refused and said it's not possible. I know it is because other stores let me do this! Will not be visiting this store again.

As always Costa leaves all the other coffee shops far behind when it comes to Covid hygiene proceedures. Staff cleaning tables and making sure everyone uses the track and trace barcode. Nice coffee in a very safe environment.

Amazing baristas. Very kind and asked if my drink was okay when they noticed I hadn't drunk alot of it (it was I'm just slow 😅). They kept the place very clean and covid safe, very good experience overall 😊.

A lovely place to study, quite quiet in the afternoons

Lovely environment in a beautiful area of Edinburgh but I spent there around an hour and what I saw it was people moving dirty cups/trays on others tables as most of them where with dirty things on. It looked like the two guys at the till/coffee machine were more focused in chatting then actually make the place clean. Apart of this, coffee was fairly good.

Long queue slow service and not for the first time. Will not be returning. Loads of better competition nearby. More staff required or better management/systems. Disappointing

Good place for coffee, tea and nibbles. Large, open area typical of a chain, so lacks the cost atmosphere of a local cafe.

This Costa was convenient, a short distance from our hotel. The staff/baristi were always friendly & consistently crafted great espresso drinks. Their medium roast espresso blend is preferable & superior in flavor to the ubiquitous Italian roast blends of other cafes.

Quick, friendly service. Newly refurbished summer 2019. 3 highchairs available. Some outside seating too. Didn't offer to carry my tray over even though I was on my own with the pram.

The Coffey was like pish water got a bacon roll to the bacon was burnt to a crisp no butter or eanything scotmid breakfast deal I'll give it a miss next time

A very tired and shabby coffee shop. Tables, chairs, toilets and trays all dirty. Slice of almond and raspberry cake tiny and very dry with sitting out. Coffee not great. Won't be back to this place!
