I visited costa coffee motorway services at K5, Grand Arcade, Cambridge CB2 3HW, ordered 3 takeaway coffees, paid and scanned my Costa loyalty app. Returned to car, continued journey to then find out I had been overcharged ( looks like 4 drinks) but also not credited for anything on loyalty app…. So angry!!!!

I can’t comment on the coffee because the girl serving refused to serve me with coffee or the lady in front with a bottle of water. Really curt with no apology and several minutes before the advertised closing time. Needs retraining

Disgusting and filthy highchairs. Not sure they have ever been cleaned. Would love to see what would come back off a culture taken from them, unfortunately I suspect it would be enough to make a healthy person severely ill, let alone if you put a small baby in who has yet to fully develop an immune system. Just grim, I fed my daughter in her buggy, when you see the pictures below you'll see why. Yes, those straps and clips were white once, WHITE.....

Over staffed and yet still a queue of 20 people. If you have 2 coffee machines use them! If you have 2 cash tills use them! I cannot imagine staff have 20 minutes to queue for coffee nor quite frankly did I !!! The coffee business is worth billions and I imagine Costa takes at least 6 figures in revenue. No-one I repeat no-one is affected by the pandemic. You are either vaccinated or you are not. Minimum wage in this country is not to be sniffed at. Get staff who can do the job. I blame Addenbrookes for extending the Costa lease and not getting a better company in. Obviously Costa is in someone’s back pocket.

I visited you're Costa today 11/9/21 about 1 hour ago and the manager of the store was very rude and abrupt,Gentleman in front of us whose 13yr old daughter was fighting for her life in Addenbrookes was spoken to like a piece of dirt. No compassion at all. As was my sister in law and myself spoken to like that DISGUSTING AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. HOSPITAL IS A PLACE FOR COMPASSION AND HELP AND UNDERSTANDING

The slowest and worst service ever. Staff moseying about while the queue gets longer, several staff members had to give up to due to ridiculous wait time. Management need to train and organise staff better.

Not the welcome you need in hospital. I didn’t realise that asking for a coffee was so unreasonable. And don’t dare ask any questions....... the problem is there is nowhere else to go so ‘entrapment’

I’m an inpatient at Addenbrookes. Have been here 4 months and finally made enough progress to start going to Costa at the beginning of March. Really disappointed with the service and lack of care and professionalism. Why don’t staff listen and respond appropriately to customer requests? I always have a medium skinny latte and stress ‘extra hot’. I’ve wasted so much money as I’m always given something tepid. Staff are so lazy and can’t be bothered providing customer with a proper service. They are ignorant, rude and offhand. Today was the last straw. Because I kept saying to the staff member ‘listen’ when I was placing my order (as usual he got the gist of the order but never bothered to listen to the detail). Had to keep stopping him walking away so I could explain when I say ‘extra hot’, I mean ‘extra hot’. Only because I made a stand about this today is the reason I finally got something of a decent temperature. But lo and behold! I had a sip to test it as I left and it tasted of.... milk! No coffee flavour! Unbelievable! Went back and had to queue (drink going cold) The girl (there’s no way I’d refer to any of them as ‘Baristas’ since a true barista actually take pride in their profession) who had made it (clearly with old coffee) said it’ll be 50p. Not proud of myself for ranting at her but Costa Addenbrookes should be ashamed of themselves. I’m a patient, the food and drink on the ward is tosh so my only pleasure would be a decent coffee. Staff at this Costa are rude, unprofessional, miserable,and couldn’t care less. Fire them all! It’s a disgrace and a complete rip off. In the end I just paid the extra 50p. I must beat least £20 out of pocket from not being able to drink tepid coffee / asking for extra shot on at least 3 occasions when they served me what seemed like warm milk, not hot coffee.

Staff shout at you and when you challenge their behaviour , gets super snappy. Female staff seem to choose and favor Caucasian male customers. Shouldn't be in the business at all of servicing people. Get your staff training.

Probably the worst Costa I have ever visited I work on site and the amount of times that I have encountered the same issue is beyond a joke now The majority of staff behind the till do not listen to you when ordering they are too busy chatting amongst themselves so you end up having to correct the order I always have the same drink a skinny decaf americano and 95% of the time they ring up a latte, doesn't even sound the same. Then when your drink is about to be handed to you they ask do you want milk FFS READ MY ORDER. The manager is one of the worst culprits and I think he needs to set an example to his staff Today was the day that broke the camels back and I will now be using the concession stand they have because at least they are attentive to the customer

Just popped into my favourite Costa this morning as always greeted by Ben despite being such a busy store always spotless and well stocked whether a light breakfast or early lunch or dinner. The staff are friendly and makes you feel special great work Ben and your team 5 star service.

This is Costa by the Day Surgery ward. I asked for a small hot chocolate, he mumbled a reply and the girl on the till the same, £2.80 later I took one sip and tipped it down a sink on the day ward. I could not taste any chocolate only milk, what a rip off Costa Coffee and you are there where people buying are very stressed and vulnerable visiting this fantastic hospital, will not be revisiting !!!

Totally chaotic. Service was slow and the staff didn't have a clue due to lack of communication. People taking others coffee. The panini and coffee were actually OK, but no offer of a tray or plate or anything and I was eating in. Totally clueless.

This is probably the busiest Costa I have ever known. Three visits in one day and the first about lunchtime meant it was very busy but with twelve staff serving and making meant that it was fairly quick. Coffee was hot but slightly on the bitter side which is unusual for Costa. Staff courteous and pleasant. Two other visits in the day were less busy so service was quicker but the coffee was still a little bitter which was disappointing. Had something to eat the last two visits - Sicilian Lemon tart, delicious, and a toastie which was microwaved so hot but a bit bendy and uncooked on one side.

American coffee is basiallly just dirty water. It is 99% water and 1% (honestly have no idea if it is even coffee). I would not reccomend anyone to drink American coffee. If you want to drink a good coffee come to Italia! <3

If only I had read these reviews before purchasing anything at this Costa Coffee. My first experience was at 4.30 am ...it was the only place open, only 4 in the queue and service was still slow. Have tasted worse coffee, to be fair. Today I visited at 11.45 am ....queuing at both tills. Customer Service training is needed. I made the HUGE mistake of buying an egg mayo sandwich on brown bread at £3.95. Was there butter? Not too sure. Was there mayo? Minimal I would say. One egg sliced between the two slices of bread. Estimate total cost 60p but be generous when adding packaging and labour ...say £1. Exorbitant profit. Cheap tasteless bread. Total Rip Off and advantage being taken of captive market.

As a nation, we seem to be content to wait in line for ages. Costa Coffee is no exception, but I'm not one of those people who's prepared to stay in a queue for 10 or 15 minutes. There seemed to be more people in uniform than customers in line, but I got fed up of waiting for service and left. I guess that, being situated in a hospital, this branch has a captive audience. There are alternatives in the same area of the building, but somehow people remain rooted to the spot. I can't comment on the coffee, but I assume it's the same at every branch. Perhaps it's a little unfair to come up with a review when I haven't really sampled the goods. However, it does say a lot about the business if you are put off before you've even placed an order. As a last comment, the decor is drab in the extreme - dark paint and poor lighting. Went to the Starbucks outlet around the corner.

the coffee tastes ok, and the seating area is nice and well maintained. but that is it. staff is sometimes extremely rude and their incredible inefficiency is already legendary. why Costa why don't you do something about that. the customer experience in the place such a nightmare. people even openly joke about it in front of the staff...

This place is an absolute shambles. Disorganised, luke-warm drinks and wrong orders. Some members of staff are useless. Avoid at all cost, purchase your beverages from elsewhere. It's really not worth the stress and hassle. I waited 5 minutes for one drink, then two more came along (I ordered 3). Therefore the first drink was luke-warm. Other two drinks came along, took the order back to my table and the drinks were hardly luke-warm. Took the drinks back and they replaced them, (after giving me the wrong order) slightly hotter this time. Overall, the first and last time visiting this Costa, don't waste your time.

Stood in queue got ignored then ordered 2 teas got told when waiting to receive them I have no tea pots so got 2 half cups water and tea bag in each cup when I asked for more water as I paid for 2 teapots of tea he just glared at me never again will I come here again

My experience completely different to other reviewers. Drank rather a lot of coffee and had some time to watch the staff. I found the cafe well staffed and the efficiency and speed of service beats any other Costa. This is a very busy cafe but even at lunchtime there were staff constantly cleaning tables to free them up. Don't really want to come back to review again but as cafes go this is very good!

Not a busy coffee shop even though it was about noon on bank holiday Monday. Lady who served me didn't say thank you. In fact she turned her head to speak to a colleague rather than speaking to me. Her boss, the manager wasn't looking when she went to give us our mocha& spilt it all over the next customers trays. Didn't say a word to us. Made a new coffee. Mumbled sorry. Then turned around & carried on having a chat with her colleagues. Gave the brand a bad rep today. Would not go back. And I'm a costa coffee loyalty card holder.

We stopped in for hot drinks after an appointment, and found the Addenbrooke's Costa a really busy venue with the usual high standard of drinks that I have come to expect from the chain. The location is convenient near the hospital's main entrance, and it provides a good place to wait for treatment or to unwind afterwards. That said, the staff were kept constantly on their toes, and yet they kept up with the demand admirably. There remained however, the issue of queues both to order, and to collect drinks, and they had fallen a bit behind on the busing of tables. All in all though an average to good visit.
