Costa Coffee in South Northamptonshire

Had partially given up on this branch as it is dirty and unwelcoming and staff poorly motivated. Since Costa opened a new branch in the top of town, this one has appeared to have been deliberately run down. Today's experience was a new one. Went in at 3.20 pm and the sullen member of staff told me it was takeaways only. When asked why, he said they were closing in 20 minutes. The sign on the door said closing at 4pm, which is very early for a town centre location in any case. Left and went to the warm and friendly coffee and cake shop opposite.

If you want to use the drive though when the it’s quiet, make sure you don’t interrupt the staff from their evening social. They were most upset of having to serve a customer. They were rude, surely and petulant. I highly recommend avoiding this particular drive through.

Standards have sadly dropped. Ample staff yet I’ve been here 20 minutes and staff have failed to clear up the tables outside - trays left on tables, customers having to clear table of tray and place on floor themselves, spilt drinks on tables not cleared up. It’s not as if they were busy and run off their feet. Last week there was no oat milk as had run out and neither was there any alternative milk for vegans. I am disappointed and will be be reluctant to return as plenty of other coffee shops in the town, who look after their customers and ensure high standards.

Three seating areas - by counter - down the corridor towards loos and upstairs so fine if you have a wheelchair or pushchair. Just a costa but with two very friendly and welcoming staff

If felt cool in the counter area, so we chose to sit upstairs, carrying a tray of drinks. Drinks were great, but the soft, soggy settee was not comfortable as when I sat at the table It was so low if felt as if my chin was on the table. It was also fairly cool up there as well, so kept my coat on. The staff were very friendly and pleasant.

I'm a bus driver and I have a lot of breaks so I use this place a lot.These guys are friendly and efficient ( much nicer than the Banbury Castle Quay Costa ). Well done guys , I hope you all get a payrise

Carpet covered with marshmallows that were trodden in by staff when they enentually ventured upstairs to clear the tables. They left the marshmallows and pieces of toast on the carpet. Coffee was well made, but had to ask for plates, spoons and even a tray.

Came here this afternoon. Service very very slow. No spoons for coffee or a tray were offered even though the main seating area is upstairs. The upstairs floor was extremely dirty with coffee sticks, toast crusts and marshmallows over the floor. Two staff came up with a plastic bag and picked up cups while treading on the marshmallows. Cups were removed but tables were left full of debris. The marshmallows and the rest of the rubbish was left on the floor. One member of staff actually kicked one and just walked away. I think the owner of this franchise needs to attend to staff training as a priority.

Good location if you are traveling on the A 43, as there are two exits for Brackley - the north one being minutes from this store.Staff are always pleasant and on this occasion, although there was a line, there were plenty of servers, which meant a fairly quick transaction.Well made coffees, usual selection of eat’s.On street parking is directly outside or on the main road which is almost adjacent.

We always heads for a Costa wherever we are and love the brand but this was a dire experience. The tables had not been cleared for ages and we had to clear our own space. Staff were very slow and uncaring then coffee not hot. Dire!

Arrived 5.12 to Brackley costa when the internet says it closes at 6pm To be told we are shutting We eventually got served in paper cups & the place was DIRTY !

So at Costa you always get a great coffee so cannot review that. I was getting a take away in each of three occasions so cannot review seating area/ cleanliness etc. I can only comment on the fact that I went in for a take out early Monday and was greeted by a friendly smiling chatty girl who served my coffee very quickly. Later in the day I went back and not only had her persona not changed, she remembered my order which happened again Tuesday morning. Brilliant. It makes a change to be treated like a name not a number. Well done. Enjoy

Went in with friends, the girl behind the counter was efficient and friendly. We sat upstairs where the tables were clean and clear which is better than last time we went, great choice of sarnies

Brackley Costa Coffee is going down hill by the day. There is rarely sufficient stall resulting is numerous tables left with dirty crockery on them. The floor always looks like it needs a good clean. The coffee machine is always scruffy and in need of a clean. To top it all today the upstairs was closed off and there were no clean tables downstairs AND there was no heating in the back room. Absolutely freezing. Too cold to take my coat off

I've been to this branch twice now and have experienced bad service each time. On my first visit the staff were waiting for someone to come back with soya milk so they made no attempt to serve other customers who were waiting at the counter. My next visit was almost as bad with staff chatting amongst themselves with no effort to serve promptly.

Very friendly reception from team - even though it was close to closing - thanks to Nathan for the excellent flat white.

walked in with my wife and son at 5.30pm approx. yesterday and seems we had turned invisible as staff turned their backs, did everything possible to avoid making any contact with us. one lad must've had a particularly bad day as plates were being crashed against each other. eventally our order was taken by a miserable young lady and our order was made. i appreciate that it was due to close at 6pm, but I've honestly never felt less welcome in a costa. no background music to mask the plate crashing, no smiles and to be fair the cake was well below average as well. dissapointing.

Nice sandwich and coffee, I just find it a little expensive, especially when visiting with children.

Great staff, Nathan and his Team, so friendly, so welcoming and always know their regular customers, which makes you feel special and of course you go back again, especially for the OPS coffee bean, yum yum

Breakfast in hotel awful so had breakfast here, the staff were brilliant and looked after us. Well done lads!

Just love costa as you now exactly what to expect, always consistent, great coffee. The Brackley costa has an upstairs that is really good for sitting enjoying your coffee and watching the world go by 👍☕️

Busy coffee shop. Free parking in the car park outside. Drink/eat in or out. Lovely & clean & always great service.

Yes guys I know you where very busy but the service I received was poor in any standards.

Often call in to this Costa - but it's never been listed on tripadvisor.com until now!
