Costa Coffee in Cambridge

Dirty table, dirty floor. I asked staff member to please clean our table. She said she would but didn’t come back. Probably shortage of underpaid staff.

I think the lady behind the bar was the manager and she was so rude. One of the barista was in training and she talked to him like she would not even talk to her dog. No hello, no good no thank you. We came here to relax and she made this moment even worse.

The coffee and bar were very good. One of us spilled their coffee, making a big mess. They cleaned it up quickly and nicely, and brought more. It was clean also.

We queued for more than 10 minutes. Why was there only 1 member of staff doing everything. Putting that to one side the coffee was as requested. The restaurant could have done with a bit of a clean.

The worst Costa we have ever been in, dirty, grotty and in need of a refurbishment. Tables were eventually cleared but not wiped and left sticky, the seats were dirty, stained and mine had ground-in food deposits which I could not wipe off. Floor tiles around the counter were coming up at the edges and were held down with hazard tape, windows and ceiling dirty and so was my wife’s glass. We ate our toasted sandwiches and drunk our coffee as quickly as we could to get out. I don’t normally give negative reviews but this place needs serious attention.

Very busy although the staff is always helpful and friendly, good coffee and nice selection of food. Downstairs area is always quiet and comfy.

We stopped for coffee on Saturday. This place was filthy, blue bottle flies on every surface. The toilet was filthy!!! It was so bad. We waited Until we went back to the shopping mall.

The cafe is dirty the disabled toilet is very smelly x Early Saturday morning and they had no sweetener. Only seemed to be 2 staff on which isn't good for a weekend. Don't come here.

Location is bad. The layóut is long with not much seating. Most of the seating is in the basement which of course has no windows or natural light. But worst of all and most disgusting was the men's toilet. Unmaintained. Not cleaned. Horrible.

Costa Coffee zit middenin het centrum van Cambridge en de koffie is lekker. Er is ruime keuze uit allerlei zoetigheden: muffins, taarten, koek. Het is niet heel groot, beneden is meer ruimte maar dit is minder gezellig. WC's niet erg schoon.

Service was slow, downstairs overtaken by students on laptops one per table of four made it tricky to get a table for us, a family of four. It was like a library with all the studying and no atmosphere. Felt we couldn’t talk for fear of upsetting the study. The drinks were bad, weak tea, hot chocolate and latte with hardly a shot of coffee. My daughter had a glass of water that had dirt and scum floating in it. Ladies loo was locked and the upstairs disabled toilet a punishment to use as it was so smelly. Not a place I’d recommend even though in a good location.

Good all round coffee shop, with a small selection of "bites" Service smooth and efficient, mostly, although due to popularity queuing can occur.

Two flat whites were served by pouring the milk from a jug which was heated before we arrived as if a latte. Result was a milky coffee which didn’t taste good.

Costa zit midden in de stad en heeft lekkere koffie. De americano is altijd erg warm maar de latte soms wat lauw. De (niet zo schone) toiletten zijn alleen toegankelijk via een code op de afrekenbon. Boven is niet veel ruimte om te zitten.

Visited today - all the pastries/cakes are crawling with flies - drinks only for me. Staff pleasant and helpful - go downstairs where it's quiet.

Abbiamo preso un caffè con amici, non posso aspettarmi di avere un espresso come in Italia e non l'ho avuto, era bevibile e anche gli altri tipi di bevande serviti lo erano. Il bagno non era ai migliori standard, forse neanche inglesi.

Going in this COsta, nothing much was expected apart from your normal Costa experience. Staff got the job done, weren't that enthusiastic, being in the centre of Cambridge though I wouldn't expect the staff in a chain like Costa to be. Coffee is Costa and the seating could be better, nothing overly bad though, I will return.

Went to Costa today and did not use the disabled toilet as it smelt really bad and did not have any soap in it. Tried toilets downstairs but they were shut ... I found out eventually that there was a code on the receipt which was needed to open the loo door, however there was no notice etc explaining this. I get the impression that the staff can't be bothered to clean the toilets. I just hope they have washed their hands and have a secret supply of soap. I will never go in this Costa again and considering their prices are so expensive, I expect a lot better than this! How did they get a food hygiene rating of 5?

Long queue, but caused by lack of baristas - just one on, 3 other people bumbling around. And barista clearly not happy chap - and making sure everyone else knew about it! Tables not cleaned. Staff not aware of £1 cake offer - despite there being notice in window and poster inside. Wouldn't visit again in a hurry

Just visited for a coffee and the staff on site tonight we're arguing behind the counter. What a disgrace. The two females and the guy in matching uniforms were useless whilst the guy in the festival top actually doing work, clearing the floor, stocking shelves and genuinely doing all the jobs that the rest should actually appreciate they stood there and shouted, in front of customers at him. Working in this trade before you should not shout at anyone who's doing work while you're taking 10 minutes cleaning a syrup bottle. Sort it out.

I usually love costa because you know what you are getting and the standard seems to be fairly consistent across branches. This one, however, had painfully slow service, rude staff and was dirty and overcrowded. Won't be going here again.

I know some people dislike change and this would suit them perfectly. It's 'Costa' - the same everywhere. Nothing especially bad, nothing especially good. It's almost impossible to be disappointed, or excited. Average.

Sé que se trata de una franquicia, con productos estandarizados y probablemente de origen común en todos los establecimientos, pero aquí probé la mejor carrot cake de mi vida y no he vuelto a encontrar una así. Me parece especialmente interesante lo amplio que es el lugar, y las mesas con cómodos sillones que hay en la parte de abajo, alejada del posible ajetreo de la entrada y "barra". Lo recomiendo por encima de Nero o Starbucks para tomar algo con los amigos y charlar sin agobios

Usually a lovely experience but Costa have changed their decaff coffee and it is now just coloured water with little flavour. Just because I have the misfortune of not being able to drink caffeine doesn't mean I don't want a "proper" cup of coffee! Staff still friendly and helpful, but I won't be going back.

We wanted caffeine -- both hot and cold -- the stops at the shopping centre (Grand Arcade) did not appeal and were too crowded -- we walked in here and found a table right away.Then my friend discovered the space downstairs -- we carried our tray down -- it was a perfect after a whole day of walking around in the uni area on what was the hottest day of the summer so far. We finished our drinks, cooled down, and planned our return train trips in the quiet and cool space.
