Great place for bacon cob and coffee

1st visit to this lovely town,as on a coach trip,Saw special offer coffee & toastie, The teaspoons we were given were Absolutely filthy.

I was staying in Stamford for a week and a half between the end of November to mid-December 2024 and used the coffee shop most days for a flat white or hot chocolate with something to eat. Really good drinks and food and a very friendly, professional team serving. The young lady with the glasses, who seems to perhaps be the manager was particularly lovely. I would definitely recommend. PS: Google Maps shows this coffee shop as being in the former St Nicholas church but it's actually 100m further east along the High Street, closer to M&S and opposite the Cook shop.

We love going to Costa for coffee. Staff are always friendly and polite. The coffee is good, you get a much better size of cup compared to other coffee shops two mouthfuls and its gone but here it's quite generous. We like to sit in the window seats and watch the world go by, very relaxing.

I popped in a few Sundays ago, and the young girl Megan helped me choose a drink based on what I like and talked me through all the alternative milks and made my drink herself. Best coffee I've ever had and will definitely be back again, fabulous place, very clean and staff are lovely!

Firstly if Costa read reviews and actually cared about this branch then they would have spared me this excruciating Customer service experience . The infamous Manager who has a serious negative review following sadly served me and delivered her usual disrespectful, vile, whispering, eye rolling, hateful, curt delivery. Challenged her openly and asked her if She had something to say to me rather when whispering rude conversation about me to her colleague who was preparing my drink as it was plain I was not happy with her attitude. She refrained from elaborating. I visited this branch as I am a regular visitor to other Costas who are obviously not related in the manners stakes to this shocking place. I shall not be returning and if I was not caught unaware of this persons presence when entering then I would have made a quick exit before it was too late. Appalling and inconceivable that this place stays open with the current Management ( the person preparing my drink was not rude ) . It was empty other than 2 other Customers, I wander why?

Put off by the staff. Roxie is rude, felt like we were interrupting her from her mobile phone and cake which she was eating behind the counter.

Six months back, I gave them a good review. Unfortunately things changed for worse. When I went there last Sunday they didn't have regular hot chocolate, so I agreed to substitute it with white one in my moccha. What I didn't like was that they wanted to charge me more for that.

I’ve visited this place on a few occasions, and this will be my last. Each visit I was served by a woman with blue hair, who I can only assume is the manager. She’s unbelievably rude and unpleasant with people in the way that she talks. I asked for a particular drink and she laughed out loud and said ‘that sort of drink doesn’t exist’.. I’ve been here with my family members ordering several drinks around an hour before closing and I could feel she was annoyed at our presence and that she was trying to close the shop and get everyone out the door asap- even the sandwich fridge was covered up so people don’t purchase anything to which they have to heat up the food. I can only assume everyone else in the reviews is talking about this woman- whoever the owner is needs to put measures in place before people start avoiding this location.

As good as any Costa establishment we have visited.

Best place to sit and chill and coffee . Great staff

Unbelievably rude staff. One member in particular. Assume the manager which is laughable as no people skills or commercial awareness whatsoever. Visibly annoyed we were there 30 minutes before closing time, checking watch, rolling eyes, clearly packing away early, making for a very unwelcoming reception. I did challenge this and ask if she’d rather we leave which she then suddenly back tracked as wasn’t expecting me to say anything but I’m just amazed someone so clearly lacking in people skills would be employed to work in hospitality. The shop wasn’t very clean either, the drinks were ok. Wish we’d turned around & left, won’t be back.

So I ask for a White Chocolate Mocha low and behold you can't do that so I ask for a white hot chocolate with a shot of espresso in it. But apparently they ain't allowed to do that either. Absolute joke. You call yourself "barista" that make "hand crafted drinks" yet a white mocha is too complex! Get a grip of yourselves!

Only 2 staff for a while and service a bit slow. Water was pouring out of Aircon units for some reason. Coffee and cakes good though.

Stamford branch were rude and I wasn't able to get my free birthday cake ,last year shop shut so missed out again

Rude staff, no hello, goodbye or any smiles, dirty loos, the one that was working. Not recommended 😕 😑

Tired, could be cleaner, lacks atmosphere.

Decent if you go in but they cancel every single ubereats order you make. No matter what you order, they wait for about 20 minutes and then cancel. They're the only coffee shop that do this, very strange.

Doesn't allow dogs! The manager had been rude to the gentleman from next doors men's hair salon before serving my partner. I have no issues being told no dogs but in a warm friendly manner! Totally lacking people skills! The young lady working with her smiled at me clearly embarrassed by her managers approach!

Not this branch in particular, more the entire chain. Spent a a bit of time building up nearly £30 in the old reward scheme only to have it robbed and converted into 'beans' that you can only exchange for a drink. Went to use some of my beans today, only to be told that they only last 6 months now! What a complete rip off, going from enough to pay for drinks and food to nothing! Needless to say, I will now be frequenting another well-known coffee shop chain (not Starbucks!).

This Costa has 3 tables available to sit outside on the pavement.Inside they offer around 20 tables which are in a very spacious setting & all on ground level.During my visit today around 3.15pm I found the store to be surprisingly really quiet & able to have a table seat outside in the sunshine. Inside I noticed the display shelving for cakes,muffins etc,to say sparse would be an understatement as they were virtually empty,which was very disappointing. But I did have a piece of rocky road which had 50% off to accompany my gingerbread latte as the well advertised Tropical Mango Frappe wasn't available. The Barista service when ordering was OK, nothing to shout about ,don't know if its because they'd had a busy day or not but something was amiss, not great interaction from the staff as if its too much trouble. I did enjoy my drink though but the experience could of been better .

So cold. Every time in the last few months i have come here, and its always so cold, the drink i have is freezing by the time i get to enjoy it. I like coming to study at costa but i will be coming less often now as i can't stand how cold it gets. Turn down the aircon, people want to be warm not freezing to enjoy our drink.

I genuinely wonder if Costa are going bust. They have become awful. We used to go to various Costa's all the time, but we are having to change. This one is especially bad. At best they seem to have hardly any choice of cake. No juice. This one had hardly anything at all. Avoid

Slowest service ever experienced, unorganised and although drinking in had to have take out cups …

Folks here are really nice and always welcome with a smile. I come here regularly for my afternoon double espresso and enjoy it.

Terrible service today, Hot chocolate were cold and the children's one were dreadful, had to return all drinks for hot ones. The toilets were awful and had not been checked for a while. Yes I know it was Stamford Xmas Market day, but I would of thought they would of made sure the cafe was running better than it was.

Very nice and clean. Decent toilet as well. Maybe 12-14 tables (2-4 people). Convenient location in high Street.

By far the worst coffee chain in Stamford. The decaf coffee is undrinkable, all the more sweet drinks are WAY too sweet. If you get anything with cinnamon in you will have a MASSIVE pile of cinnamon at the bottom of your cup. Staff are lovely though 👍

Some staff are unable to hide their annoyance when a customer can't.order and pay at what feels like lightening speed - the menu has so many options, there's a phone app to get out and scan and a purse to then pay so that takes time! This has been the case for a while, in terms of the less than friendly approach taken by some employees. It's no wonder the independent coffee shop a few doors away has a constant queue, but you can walk straight up the counter here. This is an easy fix. Be patient, be kind and make customers feel welcome.

Got back to the car to find that our two coffees purchased from Costa Stamford were not much more than coloured milk, even my flat white. Very disappointed as we use Costa verses independents for the consistency of quality.

Love the after eight hot chocolate and ham and cheese toastie, not normally a big fan of cheese but that is something different.

They need to manage people coming in and taking a table before purchasing food and drink. Because of other selfish people they had to transfer all our drinks and food to takeaway. The tea was a bit weak so had to ask for another tea bag. Bacon rolls were really quite nice.

Very unhelpful and unfriendly lady with pink hair on the till. I asked for a chocolate hazelnut cookie and twice she muttered "what?" with a grumpy face. Surely, she is selling the stuff so she should know what and where it is on display instead of my having to point it out! Wished we had gone to Nero's, might be old but not an idiot!!

We like Costa, good coffee good staff

No NHS app, or addresses taken one assistant not wearing a face mask, people milling around in the queue, no direction to cleaned tables, cash only. Shabby and grubby. Other Costas I have visited during Covid have had door control and directed one member of a group to one of the marked 2 metre spaces in the queue and ushered the rest of a group to a freshly cleaned table. Disappointing.

Costa make my favourite coffee and luckily that seems standard. The cafe however is not the standard it should be...not clean enough. Also a customer asked the young man if an area had been cleared down since the last customer and he said yes..however he hadn't cleared it at all. Flies also buzzing around a particular corner.

I really like Costa always calling in for a capachino.The staff are great as is the service I never go anywhere else always Costa High street Stamford .

As usual, good and friendly staff plus good coffee

I went here with my mum as we had a day out in stamford and soon as we came into he staff were very welcoming and energetic they took our orders and then even offered us to sit down and they would take our food and drinks to our table. Our food was nice and hot and was delicious. Our drinks tasted great and they even put a star design on my hot chocolate that looked great very happy and would go here again.

It's not the best Costa I've visited. Staff were friendly, quick service and as usual refreshment was tasty. The premises look tired showing signs of wear n tear, could do with a revamp. Frustratingly tables not cleared after previous customers. The toilet area smelt like it had been mopped with a dirty bucket of water, stale whiff in the air.

Lots of staff, but they all appeared chaotic. Serving area crowded with bread, cups and clutter. Didnt appear particularly clean. Staff did not appear to know what was going in. Only one toilet working, long queue. Lovely coffee and millionaire shortcake tho

Great coffee and meeting place for short meetings

A fairly cute Costa, but not very suitable for anyone trying to get some work done. Very small and often has very little seating available. Sparse plug sockets, no working WiFi available and mobile data is slow/non-existent - although this is Stamford in general! With that said, this place is perfect for a quick catch up with a friend/colleague.

Really busy, staff were friendly and helpful as I had a small child and an older child with me, they brought the tray to the table when I asked. I have to take my little one to the toilet and I have to say it really wasn't very clean. So I held him above the toilet as it was that dirty I didn't want him sitting on it. As for my coffee it really wasn't very hot, my other child had a hot chocolate and it was just right for him but I would of liked my coffee to be hot not just warm. The reason for the four stars is because of the staff and how helpful they were, it's really is for nothing else.

Apsoluetly love costa. Love the toasted paninis and sandwiches, hot chocolate, coffee, cakes and frostinos. Service from staff is good - however once they did give me a cappuccino instead of a hot chocolate. Love the decor inside, seating and pictures. Good prices. Strongly recommend.

Pleasant place in the center of Stamford with nice staff. Stays open an hour later than most places, which is great benefit if you want to have a coffee after 5pm.

Real toothy munter working here who sucks all the life out of the place, you can feel the oppressive atmosphere she projects across the whole team as she bullies co-workers into doing pointless tasks! also the wifi is really mediocre despite having lots of little wifi extenders using 1 of the 2 sockets in the limited plug sockets available, Shall just use Nero in future.

Wrong date entered in diary but they went out of there way to allow us to have the tea. good sandwich fillings lovey cakes and scone very good service
