Costa Coffee in Edinburgh, City of

I DO NOT recommend this site at all. Terrible service and very little professionalism. The girl who helped me yesterday named Darcy was rude and impolite to the point of saying enough. There were 4 people working at 3:30 p.m. and a long queue and only 1 serving the public with tremendous rudeness. I will never come back again.

I had a negative experience with the team I ordered a sandwich and a coffee I didn't understand how it worked they realized I was a tourist but they went fast and didn't make me understand anything At least they could give me some help and make me understand how it worked

Costa is always good and this is the same !! I have to pick a coffee before I get my train to London from Edinburgh and finally found a Costa 😁😁 .. Got my favourite and boarded the train !!

Very kind staff and nice coffee and porridge.

Was served by a wonderful employee, don’t know his name, tall boy with red hair! Please reward this employee! Fabulous customer service, polite and friendly! Get very welcomed 💚

Service here was a huge let down the other day as when I entered a girl with blonde hair named Alex was very unwelcoming, cold in expression and didn't smile at all. She was very rude and her body language just described someone who hated customers. It's a shame because I can only imagine how many other customers she must be offending with this attitude. What happened to basic customer service?!

Got lemon drizzle loft cake , it was broken into pieces and shift leader shoved tissue inside the bag not nice experience to be honest

Grabbed a quick coffee and pastry 🥐 after visiting the city, it was early morning on a Sunday so was quite quiet. Staff seemed stressed out and a little hostile as a result. Coffee was great as was the pastry. Maybe the staff need more support ?

Costa coffee location inside Waverly Station. Walk up to the counter and order. This location was busy but it moved fast and the employees were hustling. Excellent Hot Latte and chocolate croissants. Can’t ask for anything more while you wait for your train.

14/12/23 at 13:15 service was horrible customer service not good and I have a coffee just water not taste and stuff was dancing look like night club

Got a chicken cesear salad wrap and a cheddar cheese tomato toastie and they were both very dry lacked any sauce and the chicken and bacon in the wrap were grey however the hot chcoholate was good

Surprisingly one of the best flat whites I’ve had in EU/UK. Been back each morning for my caffine fix and have been very happy with my coffee. Coming from AU I can recommend to visiting Aussies that the early morning Baristas here do a great job. (Aug 23)

ordered americano with extra shot and coffee was very weak, the customer service was not great either.. felt from the body language of the barista "take the coffee and go" wont be back

Very disappointing order at this Costa at Edinburgh Waverley before a long train journey. 1. My oat flat white was cold - milk not heated up for long enough. 2. My porridge didn't have enough water added so it was like glue when I ate it, and there were still white powdery oats in the bottom from lack of mixing. 3. My sausage bap was dry and they did not add ketchup, even though they specifically offered it and I said yes please. Terrible experience - I know the staff are run off their feet and I really appreciate the service but some basic things could have been improved here - at the very least adding the correct amount of water to the porridge as I had to waste my coffee on mixing it to make it edible! If I hadn't been in a rush I'd have gone back to return all 3 items. Won't be going back here ever.

Boring Costa shop, maybe the interior design and leaking roof

By far the worst experience I have ever had in a Costa. I went for lunch the other day and I ordered my usual caramel frappucino accompanied with a ham and cheese toasty. My drink was disgusting, I swear the milk was rotten or something and then my toasty wasn’t heated up properly. I asked that my drink gets remade but the staff member insisted that the manager dealt with this. I seem to remember his name was jack and I have never seen such unprofessionalism in a cafe in all my years. He immediately told me that the milk was fine, when it may aswell have been cheese and ultimately refused to serve me. I demand this man be sacked as I have never been so humiliated in all my life.

Not a great place if you’re vegan, as none of the staff have a clue about which drinks are and aren’t, and huff when you ask.

Asked for an iced cappuccino but instead got warm coffee at the bottom and 2 thirds just being fronted milk. There was no ice in there at all. Not happy

Never tasted burnt coffee before - now I know what coffee tastes like when the beans are over roasted - tasted like Lapsang Souchong tea (which I like - doesn't work so well with coffee though) and I appeared to be the only person who noticed this and complained - a reflection of both a failure of overpriced corporate mass catering monopolies as well as consumer apathy. Always travel with a flask

Cheese Toastie wasn’t even hot or melted. For £8 for a coffee and toastie you’d expect it to be hot

As usual good Food and a great cup of Coffee ! Service pretty good ! Downside no Toilet on premises you have to go down to main Waverley Market and pay to use Toilet !

Abysmal, rude, unwelcoming, put me off

Big Thankyou to Conor (store manager) for preparing our food and drinks so fast I let him know our train was at 10:52 and wanted to know if he could do our order in time which he did. Thankyou so so so much we made it and now currently eating our bacon rolls 🥰

Weak coffee, unfortunately. Very noisy location with a constant throughput of customers with baggage. (It can't be a very nice workplace for the staff.)

Only a three star because i didn’t get any food, delicious drinks, really nice service! Go here for a snacky and hot chocolatey type of place! 😁👍🏻

Terrible service 4 staff on duty only one serving rest chatting until the one girl working told them to serve as there was a large queue. Ordered a black Earl grey got on the train to discover it had milk in it! Poor service

Friendly staff helped me to choose a cake as I never had one from Costa the large latte was hot and full of flavor

We purchased 3 almond croissant to have with our coffee in our journey to Glasgow. We were really upset when once on the train we found out they weren't fresh. Clearly these are yesterday's croissant!!! If I'm going to pay £2 per croissant I would expect they are today's at least. So, we not only felt disappointed, but also, ripped off.

What a lovely bunch of people! Always greeting with a smile - well I assume so, can't really tell with the masks on. Hygiene is good, looks clean. Coffee tastes lovely and a fresh latte is a treat early in the morning. Service is as quick as can be expected in the circumstances, mind that cash is not accepted!

Lovely staff however horrible coffee. Ordered a flat white which tasted like milk mixed with more milk, no taste of coffee whatsoever.

Pish service 3 people behind me managed to get their drinks before I did and that was after I waited 10 mins for 3 people in front to be served. So on go here if you want to wait far to long to be served then watch other people get their orders before you because of the side they decide to put you on. And then to top it off the cappuccino was as flat as regular instant coffee. Won't be back!

So I was a little disappointed by the staff in this place. I ordered my coffee and was greeted with stifled laughter by the man on the till, who then laughed with the girl who made my coffee, who then made my coffee and commented on the way I spoke with another employee. Kind of rude - I get you may need to find enjoyment through customers but I didn’t earn being laughed at for no reason.

Really lovely staff. I left with a lovely skinny Mocha and a smile on my face. A great start to the day. Thank you so much.

A double queue system always frustrates me when one line moves faster than the other and you're toe-tapping to try repress train timetable tension. Everyone is in a rush, so why not just have a single line? Friendly service here from one chap.. the others were like a human/android hybrid.

Compact and very busy outlet, often a queue, and only a few places to sit. Small selection of sandwiches and treats. Swift and efficient service.
