I find costa staff really patient and helpful.

A coffee break whilst on a hospital appointment. I was very pleased with my flat white and plain croissant which the assistant kindly warmed for me.

Friendly crew but even when it's quiet the service is a bit slow. It would run much smoother if they called out an order number

This is the first time I have eaten in here. I was so disappointed. They had no large cups (on the hottest predicted day so far), they do not give you plates for food & as a blue light card holder, they give no NHS discount. They are supplying within a hospital! The tables where dirty with food, the floor was dirty as well and the staff where very busy serving to be able to clean up. COSTA pls get in here and help these guys serving & sort these problems. The small things make a difference.

Very nice staff . Always so busy . Cafe is at the moment filthy . Can’t understand how in a hospital environment - maybe not enough staff to do it through the day . As I say nice staff hard working .

Served by Jacob, really friendly and helpful service. Deserves recognition for clearing the queue quickly. Really attentive baristas also.

Great costa But they Need more staff. The queue is always long.

Open long hours and always popular in the hospital. We come in every Sunday morning for vegan sausage baps and drinks. They always have a good stock of food (unlike some other Costas!) They are very quick unless it's a particularly busy day

Lovely bacon roll and extra hot cappuccino

Had the worst white chocolate ever tasted like water and little bit of milk no chocolate flavour at all. And they changed me twice for husbands coffee. Not impressed at all

Arrived at 7.30am and bacon rolls had yesterday's date on them, as did the cheese toasties.

Poor selection of sandwiches, very dry, no serviettes.

Very poor service. They lost our ticket so we was left waiting for over 15 minutes befor I had to ask about our drinks and still had to wait another 10 minutes for the drinks 😕

Same as any other Costa, over priced coffee

Had a coffee and cheese and tomato wrap. Usual high standard of food and coffee.

Tables always filthy , always understaffed so shuts early , coffee is hit and miss - shame as much needed refuge for colchester hospital workees and visitors. sort it out Costa lotta! Update tables still filthy and hardworking staff and one standing around on mobile phone and asked him to clean tables - he said which one and I said all that are dirty. He filled sugars up and left the station filthy and went back to doing nothing whilst other staff work hard. Appalled sort it out Costa and Lazy staff whilst others work their socks off!

Drinking the fruit tea not coffee. Probably smells better than it tastes, but ok. I find the coffee ok, not the best buy ok. Better than Starbucks.

Says 5pm closing Sunday and staff announced 4pm. Need to change this guys!! Also why close at 4pm when the coffee shop was still busy with the queue into the corridor????

I couldn't get my rewards and points . Staff said machine not working but machine scaned barcode and She said I can't use my free rewards at this branch (costa colchester hospital) very disappointed.

Majority of staff a bunch of incompetent, lazy individuals. 3 staff sitting in a corner, slating the customers! Ordered my tea as coffee machine not working and man behind me hot his drink first! When I went to get another drink they went to serve the customer after me Again! No apology. Customer service training badly needed!

Very crowded, only one coffee machine and oven in a very busy shop!

Deathly slow service! Took 20mins for a black coffee which tasted like dishwater. Tables left unwired. Staff milling about like a 10 person queue to collect your coffee is normal!!!!

Quick, efficient and friendly staff. Coffee was as expected from Costa. Not a massive fan of the chicken and chorizo pannini I had as the chicken was in small pieces and quite dry, could barely taste chorizo. Mum loved her ham and cheese toastie though. £18 for two coffees, two sandwiches and two packets of crisps is steep, but I guess that's today's climate. Would be a three but an extra star because of the staff.

It would have got Five stars if some idiot hadn't turned the Aircon down to 10deg.

For a company with coffee in its name it should at the very least not serve sour, burnt coffee. The one I just had was dreadful. I would have said something, but didn't want to miss my hospital appointment.

It's OK but we found it slow due to constant footfall

Single use plastic lids are compulsory, that's a total contradiction of green policy and practice, shame on you...

It all seemed a bit hectic to me ,starf milling about not sure who was serving who. All so the coffee was not to my liking, won't go there again.

While waiting in the hospital, a perfect place to enjoy a brew 👍

Staff is friendly but they did not clear the table. Last time when i reach i just want one drink but they say me no because of one second but service is good.

Poor today there not many customers but had to wait too long for coffee already ordered and had to repeat order to serving staff as did not know what I had ordered

Lovely cheery, helpful team. Always great coffee. If you are going to have to be stuck at a hospital, Colchester General is one of the better. The team at Costa more than play there part. Well done!

Unbelievably slow. I went to this Costa a few years ago when it opened and service was deathly slow. Today I went again, as an outpatient, and service was just as slow. I thought it had been just a case of staff training, and that it would get better. But nope! Even recognised one of the staff, and he's no better. Today I waited 15 minutes and gave up. I had an appointment to get to. I didn't ask for a refund. It would probably have taken them another half hour to do it. There were still 4 people in front of me! Disgusting service in an area where staff and patients have little time to spare.

Very, very slow service which made social distancing almost a joke when waiting for drinks. Paying lip service to Covid restrictions at the moment! Nice coffee though

Myself and my sister were served by a lovely girl called Sam, we were in Costa waiting for our mum to come out of surgery and stayed there for 4hours! We did buy food and a consistent stream of tea. Sam came over and said wow your still here, we explained that we were waiting for mum and she was so lovely said stay as long as you need, there was no pressure. We explained that we had promised a costa coffee and tea for when she woke up. When we went to leave and buy the srinks for mum, Sam had spoken to her manager and gt them for us for free! Sam is an angel disnt need ro do that but that is why i will go back again for the amazing service and fact we were never pressured out. Thank you Sam xx
