Costa Coffee in County Durham

It's still the best costa in the UK, very friendly staff, great atmosphere, quality and clean.

I witnessed the new manager (blonde lady with glasses) go the extra mile with a few customers including asking a member of staff to help an elderly man to the table with his drink. It’s nice to see people like this still exist and help brighten up people’s days.

As somebody that suffers from a nut allergy it’s was disappointing to see staff use the same tongs for items with nuts on as well as everything thing else!

Very nice and it is inside next as we went into tui to book a Holliday so it is perfect for a talk about it before or after

Despite the attempts of the staff there to work as quickly as possible behind the counter despite being obviously very understaffed, the average queuing time on the four occasions I've been there (twice on a Saturday, twice on a Sunday) is 40-45 minutes. The plus side I suppose would be that because there is such a slow turnover of getting hot drinks out, 50% of the tables are always free. Well, they're free tables but every single one is normally piled with dirty cups and plates where no-one has cleaned them. Something needs to be done about this Costa as there's loads of food choice, and it's a great location and really airy/roomy, but just far too slow in getting served. And top tip: take some tissues with you if you go to the loo as there's never any toilet paper in there.

Bad service considering it wasn't even busy. Ordered a latte and a babyccino, asked for cinnamon on both but they don't have any. I was offered whipped cream but didn't get any. I asked for a blueberry muffin but didn't get one. I took my son to the toilet half way through drinking and came back to an empty table because they took everything away. I had even left our coats there so people would know we were coming back. Not even an apology! Disgraceful, won't ever return.
