Costa Coffee in Wycombe

It feels unfair to just add fuel to a burning flame. But to pay for a white hot chocolate and recieve a cup of milk with clumps of powder at the end and a mildly warm section in the middle. As well as 2 flickering lights making it an epileptics nightmare. I understand the reviews and won't waste time finding a place to park to grab a coffee or cup of milk with lumps.

Wasn’t busy however took 11 minutes to be served and which point the order was incorrect. All tables were also very dirty. Slow staffed and likely understaffed also.

I use this Costa regularly and wanted to say that recently the customer service has noticeably improved, in particular with the addition of Cole - he is always very friendly and goes above and beyond. It’s nice to have a friendly member of staff that actually wants to interact with you! Great coffee and cakes too of course!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was strangely quiet. Service was quick and we only had drinks. Plenty of seating and there's a customer toilet.

Had a cup of tea here the staff were lovely & very friendly.

Updating review June 2024. Super lovely staff, very pleasant compared to previous staff. Full of smiles and making great drinks. Nice place to sit in or outside for a nice drink.

Costa is great, but Thame needs a repaint, and some better lighting. An old traditional building with a very low ceiling it is somewhat claustrophobic.

C.O.D would sharpen this coffee shop Long queues and staff who enjoy banter with each other rather than focusing on serving customers could all be solved by a system of Cash On Delivery (C.O.D). No cash until the product in the customers hand would put a time pressure on them to be swift. I waited 10 mins from ordering for a coffee and a cake and that was a typical wait. It's no good, no good at all.

At this Costa location, you'll find friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. However, it tends to get quite busy, and seating options are limited. On two separate occasions, we encountered issues with the card machine failing. Fortunately, we had cash on hand both times, preventing our coffees from going to waste.

Normal Costa coffee, the same as you would expect anywhere. Nice coffee and decent service

The batista made excellent coffees. Service with a smile and a nice atmosphere. Recommended.

They left a number of people standing out in the cold for like 10 minutes after the official opening time in the middle of December , knocking on door got us noticed but ignored like the customers here are some minor nuisance to be scowled at! The WiFi is pretty good so I’m wondering if they were only taking cash and claiming their system was down so no-one could use their loyalty cards! I know skimmers when I see them and I will avoid this costa in future, especially as I came back in the afternoon and had another coffee and was asked to leave early so the staff could go home earlier than normal, exactly the kind of costa I can only muster contempt for!

Door says open at 07:30am, website says open at 08:00am; it’s currently 08:05 still nobody to be seen and a few of us out in the rain.

Been going here years but since the franchisee changed its the worst Costa Ive experienced. Hours they open are incorrect, they open later than others, card machine has been offline for months now so cannot use debit card or loyalty card. The older blonde lady who is a barista (possibly also the franchisee) is also the most rude and indifferent barista I've encountered

Popped in today to collect a Too Good To Go surprise bag. Either the guidelines from Costa have changed or the server was having me on. I was told I could pick 3 items. I’ve never been asked to pick before and 3 items is considerably less than any of the surprise bags I have had before from this or any other location. I’ve used Too Good To Go at this Costa before and the bags have been much more generous. The sever was curt in their description of the guidelines and not remotely empathetic as to why I was disappointed with change. This undermines the point of reducing food waste if the bag is limited to 3 items, especially if the value of those 3 items is less than the value promised by Costa via the Too good Too Go app. So much for your sustainability values. It also undermines the customer experience if the server can’t empathise with their customers. I note also that the customers before me we given a similarly curt explanation to the questions they were asking too. Not great Costa!

Happy staff equals happy customers plus good parking outside.

Seems to mostly be shut at lot or early at the weekends, says it is open on the website and Google but quite often a paper hand written sign stuck to the door on a Sunday to say it is closed or closing early. Very quiet though and free parking outside for an hour. Just a shame the opening and closing times are all over the place

Unfortunately, it is hard to get a decent coffee in the countryside England. The coffee is basic, and little attention is given to making the coffee. However is better than most of the others i have tried.

When hot food is passed to a customer a napkin should be provided particularly if the customer is frail and may find handling hot food difficult.

Visited the Princes Risborough branch of Costa today and was surprised by the rudeness of a member of staff called Eve, she spoke rudely to other staff members working with her and was getting mixed up with orders due to not allowing anyone to help her. They had 2 other staff members on yet instead of alternating who aas on till and who was on cleaning the male working didn't offer to swap and left another female member of staff to do all the cleaning. It was as if the place was understaffed for a Saturday lunchtime. Also to have one staff member rushing around doing all the cleaning and other 2 just standing at stations they were working from doesn't seem fair. I will return another time and see if this situation changes but think management need to make changes. I had an Americano which was filled so high when tried to stir gently after adding sugar was impossible. Wouldn't recommend based on current issues

Every Costa has excellent service and I love the smell of roasted coffee beans in the air once you step in. The aroma is incredible and the coffee is exceptional. By far the best coffee I have had and every outlet has the same taste and this coming from a guy who travels all up and down, left and right in the UK 🇬🇧 and costa is just Costa 😍

Disappointing: I don't expect to pay Costa Lottie prices and only get McDonald's-style disposable cup service. Visited for a cup of coffee (to drink in) at around 4pm on Saturday (a whole hour before closing). Despite us wanting to drink in, staff refused to serve us coffees in proper cups (even though there were lots of clean cups stacked up behind the counter). The manager insisted we couldn't have proper cups because the last dishwasher load of the day had already been started. I pointed out that they could easily wash two cups by hand, but he seemed to think that would have been too much trouble (TBH I wish I'd just offered to do it myself and I would have had a better experience!) In summary, when I go to a café to sit in, I don't want to be served coffee in inferior (and bad for the environment) paper cups that are, in my view, only appropriate for takeaways.

Cafe needs a really good clean. Cobwebs and grime on the sign, lights, around the walls, table legs etc. That have obviously been there for a while. Used to be much nicer than it is now.

Didn't ask if I wanted milk in my coffee so gave it to me black.there were no seats inside so had to sit outside in the cold.not very good.

Hours wrong on Google. I've updated it!! Service non existent, no warm welcome, no thankyou, no add on question on pastrys or winter roast upgrade, coffee I ordered was poorly crafted, only one shot of coffee not two, was also like warm, no thankyou when made, just left on counter top. Poor visit, staff looked really unhappy and I was not made welcome. What happened to the quality happy staff pre covid?

Coffee was great as always - but in the wake of the pandemic, this location has become popular and needs more tables and chairs - should probably be a larger location to be honest!

Service was great, very clean, tpilets were clean, coffee perfectly done. Easy to park and jump in. Staff were on it (only two staff members there but they were warm and prompt and served like rhey cared and had pride in their work). A good Costa.

Visited shop on Thursday morning, and found staff unfriendly and not enjoying the work. Dirty table, and cutlery. Gentleman server cleared is eyes and then servered food to a customer without washing his hands. Quiet revolting. I shall not be revisiting Costa Prince Risborough. This store has just been refurbished, i suggest you refurbish your staff.

Queue to buy anything was so long and slow moving that I gave up and walked out.

Great: friendly service, always. Relaxing atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable to linger longer to read the paper, scan your emails, read your book over the quality drinks and snacks. In my experience, the staff here are especially friendly, chatty and helpful.

The table, high chair were filthy. We cleaned them with our own antibacterial gel and wet wipes and they were filthy after wiping the tops. The hygiene standards are disgusting. There was another lady with her children cleaning the table she was sitting at too. The floor was dirty with food particles around the base of the tables. Will not be returning.

Wonderful coffee and very friendly staff

I appreciate having Costas in our town. The staff are friendly and do their best to serve us well. However, both staff and customers are frustrated by the broken air conditioning system which has remained out of service all Summer without being fixed. The card payment machine often is unusable and the ice machine cannot sustain demand for cold drinks towards the latter part of the day. All this leads to the conclusion that Costa upper management are not working effectively . The branch is losing custom and popularity because of lack of care both for their staff and customers. Last week our regular group moved to another venue because of these problems. Get on it Costa bosses! Please don't lose our custom permanently!

I am partial to a calorie loaded salted caramel Frestino with coffee. I'm not sure what I was served but it was horrible, the woman was stroppy too. My friends coffee was ok. The other place staff were nice. It was clean, lots of 2 seater tables, no room for buggies, very dark. If I go there again I'll stick to coffee 🙁

Good and large coffee. Trouble was that were no tables free - so shared with other customer; no real chore.

Very well managed shop. Counter was clean and items were displayed in a way that made everything look appetizing. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful, friendly. What was most impressive was that all of the patrons in the shop seemed very happy to be there. It was also comforting to see that management was always visible.

Family buthers with a great range of products, I like the Risbough sausage best.

This Costa is in a nice location in the market town of Princes Risborough. My latte was served exactly as asked, which doesn't always happen in Costa, and the atmosphere was nice.

Generally service here has been good and I like that it doesn't get too packed but on a recent trip I wasn't too happy with the service.. I requested a rasberry iced tea and was instead given a watered down drink that didn't look like what was requested. I mentioned not sure it was what ordered and the server just seemed annoyed and another girl who was more friendly said they had ran out of rasberries so that is all they could make. I would have appreciated to have been told that before so I could have had an alternative drink. The drink received was rather bland due to no rasberries.

I am a regular at this costa with my family and have been coming here since moving to risborough the staff here are run by an exellent manager who is always so helpful always smiling even when everyday work stress get to him as for all his staff can't ever fault them always courtious smiling and so helpful even at there buisiest times all said will be coming here forever always good coffee food and conversation with staff and other customers that come here it is a small establishment and can get busy if it s busy give the guys here a break they are the best and if things aren't to your satisfaction ask the staff they will be more than willing to put it right for you instead of complaining on Google especially if it's so trivia and could have been sorted in store so quickly and effectively
