Costa Coffee in Barnet

I don’t usually leave bad reviews, but my experience at Costa Coffee in High Barnet was appalling. The hygiene standards were shocking—the server, Irene, was eating behind the counter while serving customers, which is completely unacceptable in any food establishment. To make matters worse, she stopped taking my order to serve someone behind me, blatantly favouring them over other customers. This kind of service is unprofessional and completely unfair. I expect better from Costa, both in terms of hygiene and customer service. If this is the standard they allow, I won’t be returning. Management seriously needs to address these issues before more customers are put off.

Today 29.01.25 lady at coffie shop (dark blonde hair) was absolutely rude !!!! Never back again She comments my order on front of me in rude way Other lady dark hair was ok but that blond was terrible I ask for not too hot coffie she give me very hot coffee!!! But her comments never forget!

Visited on Saturday 28/12/2024 at 11am it was not busy at all the Romanian girl behind the counter didn’t acknowledge me standing in front of her instead she was busy talking to her friend in Romanian other girl came over and served me and this Romanian girl started to shout at me for no reason what my order was so she can take my money. Extremely extremely rude attitude no customer service skills at all

I work for Gail’s bakery. This evening 10/12/24 at 17:30 I went to Costa with my family to have coffee. The girl who was behind the counter was absolutely rude and aggressive. I asked her what time you closing? She answered me why I’m asking ??? WHAT? Why I’m asking? Because I’m a customer!! I asked her questions instead of answering me she was cleaning and then ignoring me!!! Absolutely bad customer service I will never come back!!!!!!

Always positive lovely ladies with a smile on their faces. Lovely hot chocolate for this weather. Great facilities!!!

I am Costa customer ; I buy at least 2 coffee a day , today I really needed to use the toilet, I went to the shop and they didn't let me use the toilet ; they said I have to buy something to let me in , I went to McDonald's anyway, but it wasn't nice from this shop

People please be very very careful. I went today with my friend for coffee and someone stole her phone. I feel so bad because my friend is also pregnant and she should not get stressed. Shame on the gypsy women who stole her phone. Be alert she comes straight to your table and begs for money she has also a big leaflet with her and she takes the phone under the leaflet. Big credits to the manager who was willing to help us with the cctv cameras and advise us with the nearest police station. Thank you for your help. I hope we find the phone, fingers crossed🙏

Manager have no people skill at all very rude and abrupt I feel sorry for her colleagues.

Monday morning back in Costa Barnet before I start work. The woman who serves me my coffee is fantastic she is really nice and friendly. My disappointment from this company is simple, she working on her own and just now a customer was a shouting and abusing her with all sorts language, this isn’t the first time. What is costa coffee do to care for thier staff? She was physically and emotionally upset, other customers intervened. She showed a really professional attitude, she wiped her tears and carried on. It shouldn’t have to be this way, so Costa do something about it, before one of your staff gets hurt.

Az you can see it isn't busy at all and 3 waiters are ready to service BUT my tablet is dirty 😔 which isn't good at 10:30 morning

İ Were there today service was very bad 2 GİRLS work there the got my order but they did not ready my order after me came 4 costumers they gave to them their order and I wait there with 2 kids when I told them I wait here for 20 minutes and you do not make ready my order they did not apologize they are very rude I do not Recommend to anyone

My drink was so lovely, tables were quite messy but an amazing overall experience

This is a very small Costa which is usually empty so a useful place for a stop but there is only one staff member and she is very rude and curt, as if everything the customer says is a burden, and why are they buying coffee at all, and is completely disrespectful of people's space and differences.

Love the atmosphere of this costa. It's a bit quieter and has nice window seats. The staff have always been friendly in my experience

I ordered a coffee and a croissant. The croissant was stale and I told the staff member it was not fresh . She said ,’yes, they are from yesterday’ . I asked her if they should be selling croissants from yesterday and she said ‘we always keep them for two days.’ Needless to say , I don’t recommend the croissants . Coffee was good though :)

I went into Costa just off Barnet high street with another two friends had hot drinks and a bite to eat, inside left a lot to be happy about very untidy and the long seats were so sticky and unclean something must change and soon as I wouldn’t be back.

Everytime I go into this Costa Coffee in Barnet the members of staff are so friendly and nice. It's so nice to go into this Costa coffee shop they're amazing and give 100% customer service all the time.😊

Wrong order, stale cookie, Costa is normally better...

the seating arrangement is not comfortable here. most of the seats are pressed against a wall where customers buying things are next to you - the other side is a wall. in terms of service, it's great - like most other costa branches.

Costa offers one of the best coffees in the UK but their service and operations are pathetic. Every time you place an order, they will have an excuse not to serve you.

Although a small Costa coffee shop, the staff are so helpful and you can usually find a place to sit. Off the beaten track of the bustling shops and a good spot for a coffee and toastie. Recommended!
