Really lovely Takeaway place. You would think that Sushi and Chinese don't go together- but this place really breaks the pattern - and its wonderful. They used to have really small portions of Sushi- which i am delighted that they have increased after presumably some negative feedback. Their regular staples such as Sweet and Sour chicken, and various soups are all reasonably good and the price is also fair. Most importantly their delivery times have all been really reasonable with the food arriving hot in less than an hour. Overall a great local place and lovely addition to the high street.

Food was good but the service was appalling the girl who served us was no more than 16 years old and didn't smile. Then it took ages for her to come over and ask us if we wanted a drink or to order food it felt like we had to get her attention as she was on a computer or phone behind the counter all evening. Even when clearing the starters away didn't even ask if we enjoyed the starters and told me I need to keep my dirty plate for the next course. Didn't ask if we needed another drink even when glass was empty. Wouldn't visit again as comes across as a very unfriendly atmosphere.

The owner then came over and asked me to settle the bill before I'd even received my second serving. I've lived in London 40 years and have never experienced such rudeness. I paid and didn't bother waiting for my other two dishes. It was then 7.30pm and the place was still empty. I now know why and wished I'd looked at the other reviews. Very rude, so future customers are best staying away!

I tried to order through just eats and I did a £90 order on my phone. Then my phone kept ringing and ringing so I diverted it as I didn’t know the number I am disabled. Then I get a text despite me saying on just eat to simply leave the food in a cupboard next to my front door and text me that it’s there don’t ring the bell as I have a scary dog so they basically told me disabled people were not a priority and refused to deliver to me. All I would say is I thought the customer was always right . The whole experience terrified me why contact me at all I was trying to support my local Chinese in these difficult times with COVID etc and they refused to deliver to me. I took my £90 order to a lovely Chinese in Kingsbury instead. I told them I would call 999 and tell the police I felt threatened and they still refused to deliver an order to outside my door I am literally lost for further words

No greeting from the waitress. The Japanese Maki was tasty. But the chicken udon was just awful. It was not Japanese style at all neighter Chinese style. The noodle was so dry and put too much sesame oil. They shouldn't have mix Japanese and Chinese together. I would not go back there again.

We went to Koi on a week night and it was empty - just us in the restaurant for the whole time we were there. We didn't really mind this too much and the staff were pretty good at giving us space. The food was good but not great - it came out very hot which was good news. I was a bit upset that they seemed to bring all the courses at the same time though. The real reason I was disappointed was that despite there being a notice in the window and on the website, they staff told us the eat-as-much-as-you-like menu was unavailable but didn't provide any further information. I felt that they were drawing people in on false pretences and it affected my dining experience.

5 of us went to Koi in Christmas Eve 2019. A very good decision. Even though they weren’t doing All You Can Eat that night, 4 of us ordered from the set menu B and they allowed us a few changes. 1 had a la carte. The sushi starters were delicious and I’m told by the other 2 that their chicken/chicken and sweetcorn soups were excellent. The duck course with pancakes were delicious and the duck nicely crispy. One of the main courses was my favourite, deep fried chilli beef and it was exceptionally good. There was also sweet & sour chicken, vegetables and egg fried rice, all which were very tasty. My a la carte daughter had mock duck, tempura prawns & sweet potato tempura, which she said was very good. Without drinks & service the bill for 5 came to £88. That’s under £18 for a plentiful, tasty meal. Excellent value.

Thought we'd try this place again as we had only been once a long time ago, but maybe we should'nt have bothered! Had the chicken noodle soup to start but it was very disappoiinting. A lot of noodles in the bowl but they had no taste as they weren't egg noodles. The veg in the soup was inedible as it was not cooked enough and the pieces of chicken was rubbery so I left them. The broth itself was tasteless. I had been looking forward to it but it was awful. I had sweet and sour chicken for the main course and again the chicken was rubbery and I had to leave it, just eating the rice which was OK but very eggy tasting. The best thing was the dessert - I had pineapple fritters which were actually very nice and moist and virtually the only thing I was able to eat. The prices are reasonable and I liked the actual place but next time I will avoid anything with chicken in it.

I will never visit this restaurant again. What appalling service i received this afternoon. The so called lady sulky manager was not inviting at all. I am fuming. I asked her about gluten free options and she named one thing. I had to ask multiple times just to get something out of her. Not helpful one bit. Even when ordering she didn't even ask if we wanted drinks. I had to ask for water after our starters. Even had to ask for forks when our mains came. Like really!!??? I asked for the remaining of my rice and curry to be done as a takeaway. She went and put both in one container. I said to her you haven't put them individually. She said you didn't say so. I said well now husband and child can't eat the rice separately as he has a gluten tolerance. Her response was well we are saving on our containers. I was like really. Then she goes on to say you also received 20% off the bill. Well how is that my fault that you offer this if you pay by cash. Honestly the most rude so called manager i have ever come across. I have been coming to this restaurant for 7 years even when it was zilu. Thinking about it she has never been welcoming. Please avoid at all costs. Even the mock chicken tastes strange. I called up just after i left the restaurant to speak to the manager when she said she was. She needs to up her game. I was trying to have a conversation and she goes to me how i'm disgusting!!!!!!!! You need to fix your door as well as get some manners. Unbelievable dire service. Can't get over her and her rudeness.

Great place, service was also great and friendly. We over ordered expecting small servings, but they ended up being bigger than expected. They accommodated us for a birthday celebration as well as helping with bringing the cake we brought out and setting candles. Set menus highly recommended, only oddity was that the wrapping for sushi pieces didn't wrap around fully...meaning that it fell apart when trying to eat it. Might be normal for some but I've never dealt with it. Would 100% go back

An awful place where, unbelievably, you have to pay 10% extra if you pay by card. We had the £18 (or thereabouts) menu where you can order as much as you like. In spite of there being only four tables in the whole place, we just could not get the attention of the server to order more food. The food wasn't freat - poor quality fish was used in the sushi. I felt ropey the following day with bag guts and a banging headache. Will not go back.

Been here a couple of times since opening. The Chinese food here is sub-standard, really soggy and tasteless. The all-you-can-eat is a bit of joke, too. Not a big eater, but when ordering spring rolls or ribs for a table of two, I would expect more than one item to arrive or be able to request number of units. The staff don’t understand English (nor Chinese) and the management is argumentative. The sushi IN THE restaurant is great, with good amount of fish in it. However, it doesn’t last through delivery, we had a few takeaways of sushi and sadly there was always at least one set of maki that fell apart completely. Also, whether you get a temaki, uramaki, futomaki or hosomaki is apparently not down to the customers order from the menu, but down to whatever the chef feels like making. On a couple of occasions we ordered an uramaki (inside out) and received a temaki (handroll) or ordered a futomaki (large sushi roll) and received an uramaki. When calling the restaurant we were told these would be better than the ones we ordered - WTF? The owners are clearly stressed, but please don’t pass your frustrations onto your few remaining customers...

As someone who has visited most of the Oriental Restaurants around Mill Hill I was surprised to find one that did a mix of Japenese and Chinese cuisine. To be honest, that should have been the first sign in the lack of consistency with their food quality. Our first problem occurred when the lady serving our table kept bringing us the wrong dishes and then being unable to identify what the dishes actually were. She had no idea what she was serving let alone having the aptitude to go and ask the chef. If it wasn’t for the fact that we wanted to taste a dozen or so dishes between the 6 of us, we wouldn’t have eaten a single thing. We had to send multiple dishes back that were cold, the sushi was prepared incorrectly and the meat dishes were either over cooked or reheated from before. When it came to raising our concerns on both the food and level of service, all we got in response were poor excuses: “it’s hard to find good staff these days” and “what can you expect for these prices” It wasn’t clear if I was speaking to owner or managers that evening but their defence quickly turned unprofessional until the point we had no urge to pay them anywhere near the full bill.

We came in here for dinner and it wasn't busy - usually a bad sign for a saturday night. The menu is a fusion of sushi and chinese food and, as it was so quiet, they had extended the "eat all you like" for £17.90. Great value - but the food was just OK. We had a mixture of sushi, some of which was covered in a mayonnaise of sorts. but fish was fresh and it was nicely presented. The chinese element had a very distinct flavour of oil or fat of some kind and anything with pineapple (sweet & sour) had a really sour (like it had gone off) flavour. A gentleman at the table beside us just paid for his drinks and wouldn't pay for the food as he thought it was that bad. We ordered chicken, prawn and beef dishes and all were OK. Good value - but not sure we'd go back

This restaurant is ridiculous. We ordered a takeaway, the lady answering the telephone does not understand English and got the whole order wrong. They delivered salmon rolls which we are all allergic to in my household. The lady and gentleman in charge of this restaurant told us they didn't get it wrong and why did we ordered salmon if we are allergic. They took no responsibility for getting the order wrong and the manager told us he would lose money if he delivered the correct order to us. I wouldn't order food from there establishment. The service is terrible, the have no customer service and unable to understand a simple order. Disgusted!!!

Went to the restaurant an hour ago with a 16 person party. The food was good however half way through the meal I noticed flies in the vinegar pots after I powered vinegar onto my plate. This was highlighted to the waiter and he simply took it away and said 'it's old don't use it'. This was after I used it and he didn't apologise. When asked if they could do something for us they simply just took the service charge off. This was not acceptable. Update : I have informed the Barnet health inspectors and they are going to investigate.

We ordered take out from here, the food turned up late and was stone cold, rudest staff I have ever dealt with. When we called they were not apologetic and actually got quite aggressive. They accused us of trying to con them as the food couldn't have been cold in there opinion. Refused to give us a refund without the food being returned, initially said they would come and collect (didn't offer to replace) but then refused because apparently we live to far away (we live less than 10min away). They wanted us to return it ourselves as they wouldn't send their driver again or keep hold of it until the following day otherwise no refund. Was then told by the staff member I spoke to that the food was cold because we live so far away and that we shouldn't have ordered from them in the first place. Ultimately had to go through JustEat to get full refund. Would not recommend based on our experience, definitely need reexamine the way they treat/speak to customers and probably rethink offering delivery if they don't have the proper capabilities

Decor is fairly basic. The place was almost empty on a Sunday early evening. The service was not very attentive considering there was only two tables with customers. The staff knew very little of the food being served and couldn't answer many questions. The food itself was fairly good though. Think I'll stick to just getting take away from this place.

Food didn't taste fresh and was greasy. The miso soup arrived just before main course, it tasted awful so we went straight into main course Owner first refused debit card and then said it would be 20% charge if we didn't pay cash, he also tried to overcharge for drinks so make sure you get the English version of receipt and check it. Only one other family eating. Will not be wasting money or precious time there again.

Really nice restaurant. We spent the New Year's Eve here with friends. Sushi is amazingly good, probably one of the best selection of sushi and crafted to perfection. As for the food, I really don't get the bad reviews. The food is really good and tasty and portions are good size. We live in Mill Hill and we tried all the Chinese restaurants/take aways in the area and Koi is by far the best. Don't be put off by the bad reviews, try it yourself and make your own opinion, you will not be disappointed.
