Costa Coffee in Birmingham

Kirsty made my coffee and I loved it. She was very lovely while serving as well. Keep up the good work Kirsty and never let anyone ruin your mood, you are a star ❤️

We visit this area quite often and like to sit and enjoy a drink. The two ladies on today Sat 03 August 2024 @ 11:35 served us. One of the young ladies was quite nice and quick to serve. The lady on coffee machine however didn't seem to be happy to see so many customers coming in. I enquired about something and she answered me in quite crude manner. I understand you can have good and bad days but atleast don't ruin somebody else's because of that. Please cheer up or take a break if have to but don't work if you don't like the job.

Absolutely abysmal customer service from Lucy I think her name is? We just left Costa and I am absolutely surprised that customer service can even be that horrific. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable at a Costa chain ever. If you want to go to Costa, please avoid this one.

Lovely food and lovely service. Hot choc with marshmallows and cream with a beans n cheese toastie! Just what the doctor ordered after a long day at work with my girls! Thank you Kirsty for making it that bit extra special!

Stereo typical chain coffee stop, Cold coffee again at costa. Having to ask for a hot coffee is becoming the norm, the female manageress was anything but helpful, needs an attitude adjustment, will be trying Starbucks next door on next trip.

I ordered a latte with coffee on the side, normally other coffee shops either refuse to accept it or they treat me badly but here I felt welcomed. Definitely I recommend them to everyone

💕 As per usual. Never let down by Costa products and service. Large seating area. Really clean. Toilets clean too. visited on a Sunday morning, but still really clean and efficient

The place is cool, but the Wi-fi is terrible. Many students, researchers and business avoid this location due to terrible Wi-fi experience.

I often pop into Costa with family members or in my break with work. This particular Costa (Selly oak- Next) always looks untidy, the staff are quite friendly but more interested in messing around chatting about personal stuff. I went in today, just after 9am and the place was disgusting, most the tables and seats were full of crumbs and stains and the floor was filthy with dirty tissues and lumps of biscuits and crumbs. The place should of been cleaned the previous day after closing or in the morning before opening, clean and tidy for customers. It's totally unacceptable, to pay to sit in an eatery, especially with Costas high prices. I won't be visiting this place again.

Lively coffee and very pleasant barrista who took time to create art on my flat white bringing a smile to.my face in a miserable January morning.

Really Can not fault the service, the atmosphere, the staff are always cheerful 😃 Every time we are on route to work we grab a coffee here or have a meeting here. The staff are so welcoming. You are always able to grab a vegetarian / vegan option hot or cold meal snack. There is always something in the fridge, we know we will get fed 👍🏻 Here there are only 2 members of staff working hard, good service amazing attitude. Constant customer flow this store needs recognition it’s always like this. Always happy to accommodate always. 29/02/2023 served at 1045 keep up the good work.

A quiet coffee and sandwich to start the day, the Cafe is comfortable and the service staff friendly and welcoming.

Great service, a great barista who had me in a fit of laughter, plenty of different drinks, and my favourite salted caramel frappe would highly recommend overall great atmosphere

the toast was nice. The coffee was much better than Costa in Malaysia. service was ok. Unlike in MY and SG, I was told the Barista at chained cafe like this won't draw latte art.

The tall windows let a lot of light in, all usual offerings one would expect from Costa, staffing level appears adequate and friendly service, plenty of parking around, pleasant sit in.

The shop is nice, bright and airy. It has nice decors throughout. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I even got a free cookie as the first one she gave me is broken which is quite nice. I had a wet cappuccino and it was as I want my coffee to be. I love the atmosphere of the shop a bit busy but with the right amount of buzz going.

Popped in for a drink with friends after having a lunch nearby. Seemed a very pleasant store.

One of the worst costas I’ve been in (the one on its own, not the next one) - staff not very friendly and felt like I was a nuisance to them ordering. Not one smile and very moody. Sat in for a while studying and bought a large coffee, they then asked me a few hours later if I was going to buy anything else even though there were 10+ tables free and no one in queue buying and late in the day. Made me feel uncomfortable even though I was a paying customer and acted like I overstayed my welcome. Yet, I studied in Starbucks next door the day before and they were lovely - asking me about my exam. Costa also lacked the added touch e.g. asking if I want chocolate on top of coffee, just put it down and no conversation. Will be choosing other companies to spend money with next time. Toilets not the cleanest either and smelt. They also put chairs on tables like they’re ready for close 2 hours before closing time even when it’s busy - clearly more focused on going home. Also - no WI-FI! Doesn’t work, had to hotspot off phone

Too hot inside, no Wifi and terrible signal. Good if it's winter and you don't need to use your phone during the time inside or want just a takeaway. If you want to relax or work/study go to Starbucks in front.

Went for a coffee at costa inside Next, the most disgusting coffee ever I had tasted. Wasted my money on this shop.

Staff were really helpful with serving to the table while I fed our son, and brought cold water to help chill is bottle. It would be nice to have auto/ power door when having a push chair

This review is for Costa in "Next " shop she is rude and gets angry when I talk to her. Not friendly and doesn't answer me when I ask she remain silent and deal with disgust with pple

Very helpful staff can be busy in here but staff are always very helpful and polite brilliant quality drinks from the sellyoak retail park much better than longbridge store always find they don't put enough flavouring your drinks eg frappes Shame as longbridge is my local store

Bad service. Have little patience on you.

There is one who works there I think she is in charge, her treatment was very bad, she charged me twice for the coffee and when I ask her to return the money, she explained it to me in an unfriendly way, she lacks a lot to know how to deal with customers.

I enjoy spending my mornings at costa coffee before heading to work, although I have noticed a few changes in regards to management. The staff no longer seem to be themselves and that was the whole reason I’d go in for a nice chat. Sadly this has changed and for sure the atmosphere is not the same. But overall the staff are friendly and efficient.

Popular with students who bring their laptops CAN be noisy with children sometimes Worth a visit

Staff were helpful and made us welcome with a disabled pensioner in a wheelchair and a 15 month toddler in a pushchair

Costa quality has changed a lot. The sundried tomato and mozzarella panini has hardly any fillings. The only bonus is a drive-thru to get something quick on the go. It's a shame.

Horrible incident in there today with a really rude and aggressive customer, staff handled it great ,not paid enough to be spoken to like that they definitely deserve a pat on the back today as I did think it was going to get violent ,he was so close to a staff member ,the others were behind a screen

Very disappointed be very careful , AC was not working so was like sitting in a sauna. Went in after shopping and got a parking fine for over staying which was £60. Toilets disgusting and being used by non customers. Staff friendly but heavily understaffed with people lining up outside waiting to be served.

Its a standard costa so generally ok. Was surprised in a recent visit to be told we couldn't eat or drink in 40min before closing as they were cleaning down. No complaints other than this

The queuing and receiving of drinks is chaotic. Queue stretches outside so people entering/leaving can't get by inside. When your drink is ready the staff don't who's it is so ask you but how can you know for sure other than you have ordered same drink. There's no menu so unless a regular no way to know what you might like. The drinks take a long time to make which isn't a problem to wait, but it makes the queue and receiving difficult. The staff get stressed by the queue and also get annoyed as people don't know what they want as there's no menu! Some staff are rude, blonde lady's attitude was poor. Avoid.

Terrible customer service, avoid this place

The staff there are very rude and disinterested in being there. The lady that eventually served me made me wait until she had her drink made then drank it on the shop floor before serving me. The shop always run out of something, no syrup, no ice, no salted caramel, no cream. The other day the card machine wasn't working and was cash only. I was not shocked. If this was the first costa I went to I would never return to another.

The smoke alarm was ringing a few times, and the staff member it was dealing with a cube of customer plus the alarm. The place was great, and the service it was quick because of the staff! Very good job.

Specialty hot chocolates are basically water with powder in. Waitress was rude and didn't listen to any of the order (what size I wanted etc), despite me repeating it multiple times because I could tell she wasn't taking it in.

Coffee was delicious (I had a promotional coffee called “the purple one” which was a latte combined with the flavours of the purple quality street). Cafe was spacious and busy (had to queue for a couple of minutes but no big deal) and staff were fantastic and extremely friendly as well as competent. However, the toilets were in poor condition, with one of the two toilets out of order due to a broken handle, leaving just the one available, and at times there were queues for it. Also I have no idea who came up for it but YOU HAVE TO HAVE A CODE TO USE THE TOILETS. I don’t understand why this is a Costa policy but I can’t see anyone coming to a retail park just to use the Costs toilets. It was very annoying and just a waste of time for the staff and the customer as you have no choice but to ask. All in all, a good Costa and great coffee, let down by a stupid corporate decision to password protect the toilets.

If visiting Battery park this Costa café is a pleasant place to stop. There is some outside seating if required. Standard Costa drinks and food available. I

Came in ordered a "HOT" chocolate they gave me a iced cold chocolate told them I ordered a hot chocolate and started arguing one of the other workers was really nice and said it’s ok I’ll change it and they charged me more thank you to the guy he gave me the over charge money

I used click and collect on the app so easy to use and I popped ito a shop whilst waiting 5mins for my order. Lovely staff as well

Nice place to go and have a coffee and chill out.

Plenty of seating however during my visit they had a limited drinks menu which was disappointing. Only 1 toilet with a code which was frustrating!

I was served by a lovely member of staff today named Ruby, she was extremely polite and left me smiling the rest of the day. She deserved 5 stars. However, I found another manager was rather hostile towards her and the rest of the staff present which created an uncomfortable environment. 2 stars.

When I go there, there was a long queue and a long wait, it did not mind as I was not in a rush and I understood why it takes longer to serve people. However my only criticism was at least two young ladies who were in front of me did not wear a mask and the staff did not query it.

Toilets a bit hard to find. And watch out for the extra costs of you want cream and marshmallows on your hot chocolate. But the ham and cheese toasty was nice. And options to sit outside, over all a fairly tipical costa but def a preferred alternative to greggs

Good coffee, good bacon roll. Premises reasonably clean. Distancing and face masks adhered to. Staff very polite, fairly quick service. Another good Costa.
