Really poor experience Staff had no clue, drinks were cold Management really seemed to talk down to both staff and customers

Staff don't know what they're doing (new maybe) and really don't want to be there. Very poor service and drink was terrible, not worth the high price it cost at all.

Don't even both going absolutely filthy they also wonder why alot of food is wasted when they mark it down 30 minutes before closing. Bearing in mind this is inside a hospital and it's this dirty. Mind you it is basildon hospital enough said!! Hospital is just as bad

It’s busy most of the time, but staff are friendly and keep things moving.

It is always busy, but the team tries their best to keep the line in low. The staff is not very friendly, but I can understand how much busy they are. Costa will always be expensive for what it is. I like the sandwich, so delicious. Good atmosphere and gives relaxation in a busy day when having the coffee here.

I was visiting my relatives in the hospital, and I have to say it was the friendliest, cleanest Costa I’ve been in. The drinks were lovely and I was particularly impressed how polite and well spoken the young boy making the coffees was. he wished me a good day, showed me to the sugar stand and personally brought over my carrot cake slice. I even asked for his name- which was Charlie. I was extremely impressed with my experience- one of the best costa’s!

My friends and I have been regulars at this Costa for a year now and our experience has recently changed, we used to feel unwelcome and we could not stand the waiting time (forever and beyond) . The precision and speed is truly fascinating. We were wondering what had changed, perhaps the managers ( we don't seem to see the same people around) not too sure, however whatever has changed was the right thing. keep up the good work guys!

I had really nice time here in this branch. Staff were friendly knowledgeable about coffee ,excellent customer service and excellent range of food and pastries.

Friendly team and great service at this costa. I could notice change on management and the shop looks great. I love the hot chocolate ! I recommend it

Although this place has Costa emblazoned everywhere, when I went to use my costa app, I was very curtly told by the miserable member of staff ‘we’re not a costa, there’s a sign somewhere’ Found the sign, tiniest sign saying this is not a costa and if I keep my receipt I can redeem my points. I was then kept waiting for my two drinks as they’d forgotten to make them, finally got them after asking where they were and I left without receipts! Checked my daughter in a & e was ok, went back for receipts. Saw same miserable server and was told rudely ‘you didn’t ask for your receipts!’ I replied I wasn’t given them and didn’t know I had to ask, she repeated the same, ‘you didn’t ask for your receipts’, to which I explained, I need my receipts to be able to redeem my points, I’d like a receipt please. She stropped off and handed me two random receipts. I genuinely don’t know why this woman is working there, she clearly doesn’t enjoy her job as her attitude sucks, a little customer service training wouldn’t go amiss lady with the blonde hair and glasses. I went to M&S to get my next drink!

Big shop but not enough staff. Also needs to be open 24/7 as it is located by a hospital.

Two people taking orders. One person making orders equals a massive que and wait.

Absolute rude arrogant staff, if you dont like your job then leave or take up cusomer service skills

Jack has excellent customer service skills. He went above and beyond to serve us coffee. Highly recommend Costa - Basildon Hospital.

Absolute shambles, the lack of food produce was disappointing. The lack of knowledge about drinks was ridiculous. The only cup size available was a small, the server Jennie was rude & unorganised. When I asked for a glass cup to drink my latte in she was very confrontational. I wanted to eat & drink inside with my son who is currently in hospital & wanted to escape the ward for a while. This is probably the reason there are no takeaway cup sizes because nobody is asked if they’re drinking inside or take away. Customers were taking their own drinks because the staff were very unorganised & weren’t following any sort of system. This is truest the worst Costa I’ve ever been to, considering this is based on a hospital site the staff should be more considerate of customers choosing to spend their money.

Although Costa will always be expensive for what it is. It was nice to have a sandwich and coffee at the right time. Service was great lady offered to take my tray to my table as on crutches really nice and friendly and good customer service thank you

Rude staff. I’ve had to explain being lactose intolerant over and over. Very inefficient. Only Soy-Milk as the alternative. Not suggested for persons lactose intolerant.

How does it take 15 minutes to get a coffee and a burnt Sausage roll? Yes Burnt, when you complain they look at you as if your expected to eat it, they throw it in the bin, with contempt and then when you realise there are no rolls left and you sub it for another roll one pound cheaper they don't refund. Only to get a second roll burnt. The whole place is useless

One word. Awful. Is there any outside management looking at this? Has to be the worst Costa in the land. Stay clear.

Hardly any food to choose from, service is friendly but slow, atmosphere is indifferent as it is in hospital foyer,

Opened a few weeks ago in Oct, and a very welcomed and needed addition to hospital. It has a modern decor with comfortable seating including sofa. Very clean but I expect it to be , it's new. There is easy access for mobility impaired customers, a good selection of drinks and snacks. The female member of staff on sunday was very helpful, welcoming and friendly. I came for 2nd visit but this time there were no ovens available for any toasties, although they were all on sale, the self service station was dirty and needed a top up. So some teething problems. It's still nice to sit a relax when you need it.

rude & slow - ordered a drink without coffee only to get one with coffee to be told ‘well that’s what you ordered’…

I really like Costa coffee, but on this place .... the service is very, very bad

From someone who used to be a manager at Costa, I've never meet more rude staff then I have today. The attitude from the staff because they burnt a toastie I had brought, saying I would have to buy a new one. Staff need traning on customer service, the sarcasm coming off of her when she handed my new one.
