Coffee was awful! There is a Starbucks at the next roundabout, go there!! I've had coffee from here on 2 occasions, both times were awful. The first time I put it down to selecting a speciality coffee and maybe just not liking it. But today I watched as they made a coffee frappe... milk, ice, and (I kid you not) way too much powdered coffee- they just tipped it in from the jar and it was probably 3-4 tbsp worth. It was foul. Avoid! There are places in stroud that do beautiful coffees but if in a pinch there is a Starbucks only 2 minutes down the road.

Stale food, long waits for coffee. Ordered alternative milk was given dairy. Stroppy staff. I get they're busy but silly mistakes. The cold mix containers are just swilled with water doesn't seem good practices for cleanliness !

A quick stop off on a dog walk on a sunny spring day, two minutes before closing and service was superb, not made to feel rushed and so friendly. Spot on!

Nearly 8 minutes to get one drink through drive through. 4 staff, only 1 working. Coffee came not full, and too hot. Not good at all. Shocking staff

Went to collect a too good to go today and the shop had closed at 5pm and my window was 5.45 to 6.15. Knowing you had orders you should have contacted us through the app not just put a sign in the window. Wasted trip.

Really enjoyed our drinks however the cookie we bought was like 85% flower, practically inedible 😭 But we were very happy as there were car chargers, and the three previous services we stopped at all had broken ones.

Had acup of tea from drivethrough don't think it even saw the teabag was like warm milky water, absolutely disgusting,didntopen drink till several miles later ,the worst tea I have ever had

Always met with friendly staff and quick service. My go to Costa locally.

Nice hot chocolate and cakes, friendly service. Stopped to charge our car up at the instavolt charger in the car park. Toilet was a bit grubby, with who knows what liquid on the floor.

Service was OK, one of the barista's appeared unhappy, especially when asked a question. Had a drink in a Costa travel mug and no green bean was given for this so a little disappointed.

I was served by a rude staff member who couldn’t even muster a ‘hello’, let alone a smile. There was one person in front of me in the queue inside, but we waited upwards of 15 minutes before getting the one coffee we ordered, while the 4 staff members focused solely on the drive thru queue. They served upwards of 10 vehicles in the time it took us to get one drink. Just an overall poor experience.

Nice coffee, Biscoff cheesecake was rather flavourless. The service wasn't awful but it lacked any warmth, personality or friendliness. Simply asked "sit in or takeaway", then told the price. The service was quite slow also but this could be due to only 2 working. Would return for the coffee but probably stick to the drive through to minimise interaction with staff.

Stopped to use EV charger (Instavolt so was expensive!) but decent standard Costa as expected

Used to really love my caramel latte, but lately it's not tasted the same at all.. Not sure what's changed but it's not as good as before.. And that's across all the sites I've visited

Coffee was average. The two different toasties were not good. Dry and taistless. Ham and cheese was bad but the cheese and tomato was insulting.... no tomato, just a vile paste. Never again.

Stopped in for a drink and sandwich. People serving were lovely but very slow service. Was about 10 mins waiting before i recieved my order. Get the feeling that they are struggling to run or never have enough staff - attempted to come her twice before but was closed despite being advertised as open. Has the vibe of a store that is under resourced, struggling to perform and on the verge of closing.

Staff always friendly. Sometimes will pop here for a coffee on my way to work. 2 months ago I would’ve given 2 stars due to the random opening times with recruitment and the slow service. But seems to have gotten a lot better.

Nice coffee. I had cream with my americano. I am decadent though. Not cheap. There is a drive through, don't get run over when ordering. Easily done.

Food coffee, nicely spaced out seating. Service was a bit slower today, but I really enjoyed the Mac N Cheese.

Normally a Starbucks customer I visited Costa Stonehouse today more out of convenience with it being closer and expected something close to Starbucks but was appalled at the state of the place 90% of tables had stacks of old dirty cups and trays on them. Yet only a mere 2 tables were occupied upon arrival. Floor was absolutely disgusting and looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a good week, service was slow and staff seem under trained as coffees came lukewarm and food items were missing. We will not be visiting again and instead will be walking the extra 10 minutes in the future to use Starbucks who always seem capable of keeping their place clean and tidy. My partner also went to use the toilet but was unable to due to there being no toilet roll and them being so dirty as if they hasn't been checked all day. Our visit was around 4pm. Absolutely shocking!

Slow service when there is 4-5 staff members on not sure what they are doing ordered two drinks & hot sandwiches & a cake to get the hot sandwich to find that you have to wait for drinks with a long queue to find it gets cold & the drinks are cold too you are lucky I gave you one star

It's a lot better then it used to be but they've usually ran out of most of the food. The staff are nice and are trying their best I believe but the coffee often taste burnt.

Hit and miss here.....if there open! Now I drive up to Shell and use the machine, tends to be made better which is a real shame

Stopped here to charge the car. Good high speed (100kw) chargers. Staff were really friendly and the food & drink were to the usual ok Costa standard.

Not open drive through and shop shut

A good branch of costa but be aware they shut off the inside frequently. We were only given 10 minutes notice that they were closing indoors at midday today. The tables were also dirty but the 2 staff on were working hard.

Gone very down hill, 4 staff on. No customers, floor filthy hot chocolate not cleaned up under table/over windowsill. Dirty mugs over counter.

Very poor service. Very bad stock. Most of the time they have no milk! Food can be scarce. But not as scarce as the doors being open. Just shut the store already, it's clearly failing.

This Costa closes at 1700hrs. It has problems with recruitment.

Lack of staff means only the driver through was open. This is a common occurrence due to staffing issues.

Is this store ever open? Each time I go it seems to be closed or have random opening times. There is a Starbucks half a mile away, advise you go there instead.

Only two stars due to hardly ever being open during their published hours or they have closed the shop and it's drive through only! If you are lucky enough to turn up when it is open you'll get the usual Costa drinks and food with good service.

This was my 3rd visit to this Costa to find it shut YET again, with drive thru facilities only open this time. (On other occasions they were entirely shut). They seem to be consistently short staffed, so I wanted to write this specifically for people intending to dine in, so as to not waste a journey/fuel for the foreseeable future. Fortunately the Costa at the J12 roundabout isn't too far away and it might be worth venturing there instead.

Absolute shambles. Constantly closed or drive through only as it's understaffed. Regularly in a vehicle too tall for drive through but refused service at the hatch. Any other local branch is a better bet. Stonehouse is an embarrassment to costa and/or the franchise owner

We have consistently had bad service at this costa which is ALWAYS understaffed. Today we planned a cycle to end at the Costa, which is shown as open, to find it as drive through only. Staff would not let us use the toilets despite having children with us and we were unable to order on our bikes. Two delivery van drivers were also unable to use the drive through option or make use of the toilets. This should not be marked as open if it is only a drive through. Very poor service with staff that just don't care about customers needs. Avoid and use Starbucks down the road instead, which was actually fully open.

If this was an example of how not to run a Costa it would be a 5 star review. Randomly close the drive through or instore due to 'staff shortages etc', loads of products regularly not available. Avoid at all costs and go to Starbucks down the road.

Worst costa in the UK. Inconsistent, slow and lack of care from a very student like workforce. On several occasions I have been served the incorrect drink, cold food, no food when ordered and on one occasion I was also short changed. Additionally, the drive through is very slow. That’s when the drive through is open, which is regularly isn’t. The store seems to spontaneously shut without notice for days on end, too. I live close to this store and I’m aware of the high turnover of staff due to new faces every week. Possibly a management issue, possibly a lack of care. My advice is to avoid at all costs and use the Starbucks down the road if you wish for a consistent, standard service without persistent hiccups.

Refused to serve me. I have a disability which prevents me from driving. Said they would only serve people in vehicles. Clearly Costa coffee doesn’t care about accessibility or inclusion for people with disabilities. Wouldn’t even offer the flexibility to let me walk up and buy a coffee through the window. Seemingly Costa accepts discriminating against people with disabilities.

Out & out crooks.....cup only 2/3 full...rest was froth...stop robbing customers who pay for a FULL cup!!!

It's hard, that not all Costa are the same. You can have an amazing coffee at one and not so good at another. It's not the staffs fault. Seem to have improved and have started closing the drive through when they are short staffed

A SHOUT OUT FOR CHRIS! We called into this particular Costa on the way down to Devon. We find Costa in general very good and when you come across excellent staff like Chris, then they deserve a mention! Ten out of ten for professionalism!! 😃 I just hope my son who works for the company at a Lichield site, is as polite and friendly! ☺👍

Typical Costa pretty much, drink was good usual good choice of cakes and food if looking for a light snack.

Went to the drive through as really wanted a frappe! However unable to do frappes as didn't have the right powder/mixture, so instead went for a cold coffee and my husband had a hot chocolate ( both nice). Both us had paninis which were delicious!

Wouldn't usually leave a review for Costa coffee, however I have been here twice in two days,been served by 2 different people. I just want to say that the customer services has been phenomenal!

This Costa is awful! Only the drive-through open today and the excuse was there are only two members of staff. We were the only customer there! Litter everywhere and bins full. Really poor

Terrible service from one member of staff. Received a cold "Hot chocolate" through the drive through. Was asked if I wanted cream on top of my daughters kitkat iced coffee through the drivethrough telecom. To which I replied yes please. Received through the hatch with nothing on top so I asked If it came with the cream? She then said it doesn't come with any. We parked and went inside to resolve instead of holding up the queue of cars. Had to queue ourselves inside for a further 10 minutes only for the same member of staff to be quite rude to me. I explained what I'd ordered and pointed to picture with what appears to be squirty cream, sprinkles and a chocolate bunny on top of the KitKat iced chocolate drink. She said it wasn't cream. I said can I have whatever that is on the picture as this is what my daughter wanted. She begrudgingly added the cream and sprinkles and gave it back to me. So I asked about the chocolate bunny and she then said she'd already given me one through the drive through hatch. She definitely didn't and she continued to argue that she did which is absolutely ridiculous and very rude. Finally received what I'd ordered after being there for about 25 minutes. Needless to say I didn't even bother mentioning the cold "hot chocolate"

Arrived 40 minutes before listed closing time to be told I could not have a frostino as they were "closing in 10 minutes". Had to go through drive through as main door was locked. If theres.not enough trade to be open at that time, don't advertise you are!

A nice place but most of the tables had dirty plates and cups left on them for the duration of our visit.

Everyone was young there.. And it showd. No one really cared about how fast you got served and the customer service was hard to come by. Ashame really. But good location!

Lovely coffee in nice surroundings 😋

Today was our second visit to this Costa. Being a Costa fan I expect to get the same quality drinks and products as all others. Unfortunately the first time we went through drive through and received a couple of lattes which where slightly warm not hot. Today to the lattes where extremely weak, the syrup non existent, bacon rolls were extremely fatty and the toilets inside building were disgusting.

Getting fed up of costa now. Prices are just ridiculous and have had several cases of bad mannered staff ruining the experience. Went through this particular drive through the other day and ordered two cappuccinos with oat milk - something like £6.80 which just feels criminal. Woman who gave them to us just shoved them our way but before we drove off I checked and there was no chocolate on top... nearly £7 and don't even offer us some basic sprinkles?! Anyway, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and assumed she may have just forgotten so I politely asked for some chocolate on top and she looked so sulky that I dared require her to bother with us for a moment longer (it's literally your job?!). She then looks around briefly and tells us she doesn't even have chocolate. Costa, you charged us almost £7 for some milk, water and beans and you don't even keep your sprinkles in stock? Not good enough. She said best she can offer is cinnamon to which we accept with some disappointment - though still, may I add, maintaining politeness. She clearly thought we'd just decline and move on so was just rude and disgruntled at having to take our coffees back and she then put on the most meagre sprinkle I have ever seen - we reckon out of spite. Why is it so hard to train your employees to be polite? If this was a one off I wouldn't be so angry but it's sadly not. Will be boycotting for the foreseeable future. Such a shame because there are some genuinely lovely workers there, but too many bad apples are just ruining it.

Was in here a few days ago and not impressed with the service. One poor girl on here own taking the orders, making the drinks and prepping any food you'd ordered. Waited a good 20 minutes in a queue to be served because of this. Meanwhile the manager is 'busy' peeling the Christmas stickers off the windows. Can't fault the girl but he really should have jumped in to help whilst it was so busy. Poor customer service on his part.

we are thankful for the take away as vunerable .Drive ins at this time . Lots of variety for coffee time .

Always had great service from hear staff very friendly they do struggle sometimes with trying to serve drive threw and in side but they do come out and tell you they are busy they get there in the end thanks guys for the service 👍
