Costa Coffee in Doncaster

Visited about 11ish. Found a couple of seats immediately. Service was fast and efficient. Drinks were hot and toastie was very good. Excellent visit.

Went with partner who has disabilities and uses adapted cups. This was mistakingly left when we had to leave. The response from costa was “we accidentally threw it in the bin” Not even an apology or any suggestion how what they will do to solve the problem

Early shopping visit required a hot drink on a very cold day. Called into the Frenchgate Centre Costa for a warm up. Not too busy but filling up fast. Service was great from Ava behind the counter. Drinks were hot and Bakewell tarts were lovely. No problems encountered.

Called in Friday for a quick hot drink/snack before the rush. Hot drinks were hot & refreshing. Bakewell Tarts were fresh & great. Service was a bit muddled as enough staff were on duty but not enough space for the staff to work on. They were friendly but rather stressed. All in all a good visit.

This evening after a long day my sister & I nipped into town to start the dreaded Christmas shopping. Our feet were about to fall off, so we decided ego head to costa on the way back to the car. We were greeted by the most beautiful soul named Brendan Peace. His enthusiasm, patience and ability to deal with working under pressure was outstanding. Every time we visit Costa there is always a wait as with most companies an Covid-19 impact many work on a skeleton workforce. So here’s to you Brendan I hope you know how appreciated you really are! The service was very unprofessional and rude. During difficult times, we all understand that we have to wait for the service and the allocation of a table, but it is very unfair that as a result of fear or the will to favor certain nations, the Arab couple was let in front of us, even though the staff knew well and spoke to us first. Not nice ! I wanted to leave right now, but unfortunately we were in a hurry. I will definitely not come back again.

I came in whilst shopping to get a hot sandwich and some cake. The staff were in a world of their own, it almost seemed like they were trying to perform some sort of cringy floor show you might see at a kids birthday party. Banging stupid and unnecessary rythms on the machines and then looking round for a reaction. Not being entirely sure what they're doing, or at least putting that across with their toddler like attitudes to work. Speaking to me (a customer they've never seen before) as though you're my best friend, some people don't appreciate such a rude lack of manners and social grace. Children leading children with a nonchalant attitude to customer service and an embarrassment to the company. I specifically asked for 2 cakes to come on one plate, this was ignored because you were only bothered about communicating jokes to each other, like the job comes second!? i asked for only a bit of cream, i got half a can of the stuff... i wi not be coming back, I'll go to a cafe run by adults instead.

I love costa coffee for a very nice latte and choc cake even better whens its free due to me having 7.50 in points,nice clean place and friendly staff aswell.

We popped in for lunch after a days shopping & had a great experience. I opted for a ham n cheese toastie which was lovely, then a choc twist (warm) which was lush! My sister who is vegan was really pleased with her choice, as usually she can pick from 2 things max but she was actually spoilt for choice! She opted for an all day breakfast wrap & she really enjoyed it too! Service was great & food was excellent & overall we had a lovely lunch. Pleasantly surprised.

Very busy place when I arrived at 11am on a Tuesday morning. Service was swift and friendly. I ordered a medium house filer coffee for 1.75. You can have your choice of milk with it. Free WiFi from the French gate centre.

Friendly and helpful staff. Open earlier than most cafes in The Frenchgate Centre. Great coffee, good selection of food. Sometimes get full later in the day. Very popular and used by many regulars like myself.

Very friendly staff, always busy place but you'll always find a table. Everyone will be able to try good coffee and something sweet same as hot toast.

On a shopping trip with the family(Grandchildren) required drink stop in Costa.This Costa in the shopping centre is usually busy and this visit was no exception.The service, drinks & toast was excellent. The was enough staff to cope with demand.Overall our visit was great.

A lunchtime visit is always busy in the shopping centre Costa. Service was very good not too long to wait. Toasties were excellent and drinks hot. They were slow with clearing the tables of previous sittings not cleared away. Other than that very good visit.

I like the venue in the book shop but Costa has changed their Chai Latte to some vile syrup not at all like a real chai flavour, the small latte is really big enough and normal coffee sized, and the cookies are overpriced and feel a bit stale. I think Costa has lowered the quality of ingredients but increased the price. Usual Costa scrum for tables, staff run off their feet but friendly enough.

Called in for a coffee and a snack. Plenty of vacant tables. Served immediately and did not have to wait long before order was ready. Toastie was rather more tomato than cheese in taste but the coffee was up to the usual standard. Staff were friendly and helpful.

First to admit we love Costa coffee we go to a Costa twice a week but there is a lot to be said about there cleanliness ,always dirty tables ,nobody can be bothered to wipe a table when they move a tray it happens in every Costa shop we go in you need to address this it’s shocking

Nice coffee as you’d normally expect from Costa. The shop is in the Frenchgate Centre and I went here on a Wednesday morning, it was very busy and there was no seating available so I only really had the option of takeaway.

Had a toastie a Muffin and a latte with my husband.Very nice.Lovely Sunday treat.Will be definatly going back

Visited costa for a coffee and banana loaf while I fed my baby. The fellow who served me was very friendly, and without hesitation, told me to take a seat and he’d bring my order over so I didn’t have to struggle with the pushchair. It’s little things like that which really make a difference. Big thanks to the man who served me!

Quick cuppa and muffins required. Service and Customer Service excellent. Drinks hot and muffins lovely and fresh tasting. Now units been extended and plenty of room to seat. Excellent visit.

Recently went into Costa frenchgate, on a regular weekly visit, unfortunately I was unwell and needed medical assistance. A member of staff, Jasmine, was absolutely terrific! Calling ambulance and keeping me safe till they arrived. I've lost her number to contact her,but if she reads this, thank you sooo much, you're ace! And I'm fine now. Thank you also for keeping my husband calm! Terrific coffee, terrific staff.

Love how the Costa has been extended and is so much lighter. There was one or two teething problems but from what I can see it is great. All the staff busy busy busy after being deluged with customers who have'nt been able to get in because of the snow. No frustration was shown and they all served with their usual smiles and politeness. The Lemon layer cake is back as is one or two other delights which are new. Pats on the back to all.

We stopped here a few times before and/or after getting on/off a train. No complaints. Coffee and hot chocolate was good.

Called for a coffee en route to London Average coffee in cardboard cups over priced but served its purpose. Wish we could have nice coffee shops no commercial mass produced ones with robots as staff.

Having put a complaint in about the tables never cleaned when the trays are took away about 5 weeks ago , we have been in 3 times since always about 12-30 Sunday dinner time allmale staff. Same as before every table in the place full of crumbs and tea or coffee stains even tha trays are dirty never seen any one wipe a table in at least 10 visits here it was worst than ever, could it be the fact that it's all male staff at that time ,when we visited a Costa in Blackpool last week it was female staff removing trays and cleaning every table at the same time is that a coincidence, will not be going to the frencegate Costa again. In a matter of interest we called in the other Costa in town and every table was nice and clean

I do think Costa is over priced but the food and coffee is always good so i dont mind paying for nice things. The staff are always friendly and the service is good. The place is always clean and i go here quite often. The location is also nice

We came to Doncaster for the races stayed Saturday and went to costa for our coffee and have to say it's the best costa we have been to the staff are super friendly service brilliant and we go to costa at least twice a week either at home or when we travel but Doncaster is definitely the best 5 star

El director estaba operativo el hasta y era obvio que debajo de él, ya que él chistaba( cuando le pedí para añadir puntos de una visita anterior cuando el sistema de puntos. Pedí un café y un batido y justo después de que había pagado la cola creciente me dijeron que había una espera en refrigeradores. Miré el café y esperábamos el batido, mientras que la gente antes y después me recibió sus refrigeradores. Al final pedimos un miembro de personal donde mi batido era y por qué todavía estaba esperando cuando la gente detrás de mí había sido servido, a ella y gruñó toddled. El único miembro del personal, que en realidad no era nada para ayudar el caballero que se ofreció a reinventar el café, ya que había sido en el lateral que frío durante tanto tiempo. Finalmente mi batido se estrelló en la bandeja sin una disculpa o incluso una sonrisa! Las mesas estaban llenas de ropa sucia que no habían sido liquidados y ni siquiera estaba tan ocupado como normalmente es. No la experiencia que normalmente tienen en la costa.

No había tanta gente teniendo en cuenta la hora del almuerzo. 20 minutos en una cola para comprar 2 cafés y cuando llegué a la que sirve el punto que no había leche de soja. . Qué absoluta pérdida de mía y de mi tiempo colegas. Elegimos para conocer Debenhams en la próxima ocasión. . . Servicio mucho mejor, más barato y sin tiempo de espera. . Costa tienes convertido en un nombre muy conocido y sin embargo el servicio al cliente es espantosa. . . Tengo la intención de probar. lugares alternativos en el futuro

Visitamos hoy para comer un bocado. El servicio, la comida y las bebidas eran excelentes. Este fue un ajetreado periodo pero era agradable y el servicio fue rápido y furioso. Una excelente visita.

Lovely environment in the Waterstones Bookshop. Nice views across the town helping strangers to get their bearings! Helpful and friendly staff.Be wary of parking on the Frenchgate multi-storey car park as the level numbers don't correspond with logic!

I ordered an expresso with cold milk separetely and ended up with epresso with 200 ml of milk separetely. The guy told me they don't make it. Are you kidding me? Where is the coffee etiquette?

In the middle of a shopping centre this place gets quite busy. Our visit was excellent service, quality drinks on a quick visit. We will return.

Quite a large Costa, very nice staff and the only company that makes coffee how I like It. Although I don't live in Doncaster I will go back.

Visited here with friends and family , staff was friendly and helpful , the coffee was lovely with a lovely throaf, even do a skinny coffee for those who are on low calorie diet , too many cakes to choose from that look really tasty , ended up having a piece of carrot cake which was lovely and moist and was full of flavour will definitely going back

It is what it is, a place to have a hot drink and sandwich. Staff provided a speedy service. Always expensive no matter what you buy. It's the convenience I guess

Before I go any further let me just stress I have no gripe with the food, drinks on service in Costa at Waterstones. My main issue is with the toilet facilities within the cafe. Whenever we go in for a snack while shopping in Frenchgate the toilets are dirty, the floors are strewn with toilet paper and tissues and they look like they haven't been cleaned. I heard there is or was a dispute between Costa and Waterstones as to who is responsible for cleaning the facilities, if this is the case may i suggest they get it sorted out before they start losing customers, disgracefull!!!

This particular branch is better now that it has expanded. There's a good range of food, well presented, and carefully served. I've yet to find a better cup of coffee than that available at Costa but that is just my preference. In any other brand of coffee outlet I have learned to stick with tea. The staff in this outlet are always efficient and friendly no matter how busy it gets. I prefer this particular quieter Costa to the other branch in Frenchgate which is noisy, frantic and too public.

1 person serving & 1 person making the drinks in a costa coffee in a busy shopping centre on a Saturday afternoon = a very long annoyed que. I waited ages and ages to be served and felt like walking away. I would recommend hiring staff that are interested in working rather then stand around chatting.

I have a 3 month old baby and took myself into town to drop a cheque off. I wasn't having a great day until I came here. The chap behind the counter was so friendly and accommodating. Seeing my pram he offered to carry my coffee over and asked if I needed sugar. He then brought my panini. Food and drink here up to usual great Costa standard but really excellent customer service. Well done for turning my day around and making me feel welcome.

As we were looking around for The Mallard Pub we chanced on this Costa Coffee in the very busy Frenchgate Shopping Centre. A lovely modern interior with nice furnishings and great decor and plenty of seating options we decided to pop into here and get a cappuccino coffee and our coffee's were delicious and served steaming hot. It was so nice just chilling out and enjoying a lovely coffee in such a busy and popular place. I love going to Costa Coffee and when I am out and about i look out for their cafe's in what ever town or city I am visiting. We moved on after our delicious coffee's but we had a very pleasant time in here. Very easy to locate in the Frenchgate Shopping Centre. A great Costa Coffee and well worth checking out.

Quality of coffee is one of the best but when oh when are Costa presses going to provide quality and numerous toilet facilities. The lack of facilities detracts from their coffee

Love Costa coffee, the venue is well decorated, comfy chairs make relaxing after shopping that much more enjoyable. Staff were friendly, tables clean when possible, would advise customers to clear up after themselves as well as during the busy times staff find it difficult to clear them!

We like to visit every few weeks, relaxed atmosphere, nice friendly staff. Believe the the young trendy Manager with the beard does a good job.

(08/01/16) - 8:50am meeting in this Costa has turned out to be the wrong venue. As we can't hear ourselves speak over a male staff member talking and joking very loudly. Although he seems very pleasant some inappropriate comments to customers have also been given. Tone it down a bit please it's going to put your customer off from calling in.

Visit this branch of costa as often as i can this is my favourite in doncaster usually go early morning before work im usually first person there waiting for doors to open its absolute bliss at that time gets too busy for my liking towards dinner/afternoon will always return here

Good coffee in a Pleasant atmosphere, it makes a change from the usual coffee shop.Some people do take advantage by sitting there far too long reading everything they can lay their hands on.

Waited over 20 minutes for one drink, security gone mad having to enter a code to use the toilet, and looked like an idiot due to putting in my code to use the services and walking in on someone due to no locks.

Nice to sit amongst the books at Waterstones and the coffee was ok but there is a real battle axe of a woman who works there. She needs a personality transplant as I don't think any course in inter-personal skills would have the desired effect. Pity because the other staff were good.

Far too expensive for what you get, I can make better coffee at home with my Dolce gusto machine. not what I expected from such a well known company

we love Costa Coffee in Doncaster Baxtergate , the staff are cheery, fast and pleasant , however we were very disappointed when we called in on Saturday , it was complete chaos , very slow service , cappuccino had hardly any coffee in it - it was all milk , our toasted teacakes were ready before we had even received our drinks or left the queue so they cold by the time we sat down , not the usual standard of service we have received in the past ........come Baxtergate recoup your glory ...... We won't give up on you yet !!!!

My wife & I live in Greece. Upon our periodic family visits and the inevitable shopping trips to the Frenchgate Centre, I am always promised a trip to Costa Coffee if I am a "good boy".Not only is drinking nice coffee out of a cup the size of a bucket very good, but it is an excellent spot to "people watch" while my wife completes her shopping unsupervised. I never cease to be amazed at the business of the baristas and the cheerful disposition of all the staff. I am also quietly impressed by the appearance and quality of what those around me are eating and drinking.A very enjoyable experience. See you again, Costa Coffe, in 6 months time.

I like Costa coffee, it's good to go and sit and listen to the gossip. Usually the staff and it doesn't matter because I don't know who they are talking about. Service can be very slow sometimes

visited numerous costas all over and just love it.Often have one of the various sandwiches available although they are quite expensive, but tasty.I always have an extra shot medium Latte as i find it too weak without the extra shot, you need to taste the coffee. Hot chocolate also very nice daughter likes these especially

Great Costa to visit while around the Frenchgate. Very comfortable seating and quitter than a lot of other coffee shops as it is situated on the upper level of Waterstones book shop. The staff are always friendly and sociable. Great atmosphere.

Me and my mum often stop off for a coffee and a piece of tiffin if we are in the Frenchgate. It's always very very busy, but the staff are all very friendly and helpful.It amazes me when people complain that there are no tables, it's because it's a popular place to get coffee! Not really the staffs fault.

We go to Costa at Nottinghma hospital and personally they are robbing you they charge the earth for everything.

Love the drinks but especially the cakes. Granola bar is good but the almond cake is the best. Very friendly and a good atmosphere.

I went with my boy to Costa Coffee at Baxter Gate this weekend and the weekend before and can only say what miserable workers. The weekend before we went and my boy who is six years old didn't see the cake he likes and he had to decide, the girl serving us was no help and had a face on as we was not as quick as she would like. Then when it came to the drinks asking how many shots in the drink I got a miserable tone of a response. I asked if they sold the mini flakes separate and told no and the girl suggested I should go to a local shop and that is something, I'm not going to do at that moment. My suggestion is learn smile when you serve. This weekend we went with the brother and law and I asked the worker serving about the ice drinks and like last week miserable response and it was like we should except they are the experts and not ask a question and get what we are served. However, compared to the Costa at Lakeside, Waterstones and Frenchgate, this is a miserable run Costa and not worth spending money in. I decided this week to sit and watch the workers and the majority of people they served it was with a miserable look on their faces. Therefore, if I can help it I shall spend my money at the other three. At least at Starbucks you get a smile and a chat and questions answered on the drinks on sale.

Never found anything I dislike about Costa. Staff lovely to talk to and service very good. Am unable to resist calling in and getting a Latte.

This was the best service I have had in a "chain" coffee establishment. I have visited many costa cafés up and down the country including service stations and railways and have never had better service than in this one! The staff we're not only brilliant and on the ball, but also friendly. Let's hope they keep standards up!
