Costa Coffee in Belfast

Very disappointed by this Costa where they refuse to serve you in real cups because it is going to close.... (1 hour later it still wasn't the case!). The employees have absolutely no ecological awareness (leaves a water tap running while serving customers under the pretext that it is cleaning a container!!!!)

Place very scruffy. One hour before closing they had stopped giving proper cups and plates presumably to cut diwn on washing up.

Im confused how this particular Costa has so many generous reviews, upon entering it had a weird mouldy smell, no typical warm toasty fresh coffee shop smells here, also the general look and vibe of the place is lack lustre, tired and low effort, I appreciate that it is in a very busy location with likely a high incidence of unpleasant customers, or people that just don't care, but a good coffee shop should nevertheless be a refuge of quality, a relaxing clean environment and tempting treats, anyhow I stuck with it and proceeded to order my Americano with milk (order this regularly at countless Costas) and to be as succinct yet descriptive as possible it simply tasted like the place smelled, bitter and fusty, I did have several sips to make sure it wasn't just me or wether it was passable at least as a warm drink, but in the end decided to abandon the whole idea of drinking it or even requesting another to be made for what good it would likely have done other than to irritate staff who already seem glum enough to be working at this place. I did notice others sat with their drinks happy enough I will note in fairness, so who knows perhaps I was overly tuned into whether the taste will be reflective of the general odour and vibe of the establishment, I'm not sure but I won't be returning to this Costa.

Far to dear, toilet floor was soaking, toilet roll holder is to far away from toilet, staff was too busy talking. No gluten free option 😡 Too much competition around, I won't be back

The place is nice and tidy, and the upstairs atmosphere is very nice. Staff are friendly and helpful 🙂

Our visit to this shop was spoilt by the ground floor toilet area, it was unbelievable we had to inform the staff that the toilet was unfit for use. We visit Belfast every year and without doubt this was the worst toilet ever. We won't use that coffee shop again. We are happy to report that all the other Costa coffee shops were clean and tidy.

A regular stop of mine when I head up to Belfast, great spot for a coffee shop, I tend to get a takeaway cup but I would definitely sit in whenever I have the chance

I like this place, it's in a good location. The food and drinks are great. The last time I was there, I tried their hot strawberry milkshake (cause I'm a fan of milkshakes) and it was good, just like a regular one, but hot. If you're a regular milkshake drinker, you will like it. The thing I liked the most is their second floor (or first, if you call it that), it has a great view, pretty windows, and a lot of seats. The only trouble I had is with my certificate. I don't really know why, but I had to additionally pay a few pounds for it. But overall, nice experience.

Costa Coffee is a famous brand known all over the world recently my partner and myself were in Belfast and very close to the city hall we went for a coffee in one of the Costa Cafes we found it to be very spacious and the staff were so friendly and helpful, because its the Christmas season i always love the Gingerbread Lattes with fresh cream on top well worth it after a days shopping

Very busy in the premises. Nothing to report about food, it was ok and the staff dealt with me well.

Staff always gets my drink wrong. It's cold inside the seating area. Customer service is not great. Staff is not that friendly.

Costa is what Costa is, but not the same franchise as Scotland so couldn't use my app.

It’s say that it will shop will open at 10 am first I came at 10.15 staff said then I came at 10.30 then also they were not open yet I called them twice at 10.44 an then they final open shop That’s not nice

Perfect wee spot i hate coffee shops in shopping centres as there's never any natural light. Service was good seating upstairs is Brill. Prefer this Costa over the rest.

STOPPED IN WHILE OUT SHOPPING ON TUESDAY. STAFF WERE VERY HELPFUL. WE LUCKILY MISSED THE HEAVY DOWNPOUR. DIDNT HAVE ANY FOOD - JUST COUPLE VERY TASTY HOT COFFEES.

Had time to kill so went in for a coffee. Nothing to denote this coffee shop from the plethora of other coffee shops that now proliferate the city centre. I try to avoid the city centre like the plague these days but couldn't be avoided. I found myself a bit depressed looking out the window; reflecting on the bustle that used to be the city centre and the now quiet streets roamed by the homeless waifs and junkies. These days you even need a code from the staff to access the rest rooms due to junkies shooting-up in the toilets. A spiritless gloom hangs over the town or maybe that was just my mood that dull morning. Anyhow not the coffee shop's fault; I got a good, strong americano and a happy gretting when I came in.

Love this Costa Coffee it's my go to coffee house when im in the city. The staff here are very friendly and the service is speedy.

Great place with lots of biscuits and choices ... just in for coffee but it was worth the visit

This cafe is like any other in the brand, except the tables are constantly sticky upstairs, and the music is just terrible. It's often nightclub music, not very chill. And even worse: They don't just play the song, they often just stop skip in the middle of the song, too. It's not that difficult to just put cafe music.... Just pick generic radio like music and leave it on, no issues.

Nice big tea (they have a few options), good coffee with milk alternatives. There’s also 1 or 2 gluten free options available!

Always good coffee, decent tray bakes, comfortable seating. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre, head upstairs - loads of extra space, accessible too due to the lift. Good job, Costa!

There wasn't a wide selection of baked goods, coffee was overly sweet. Wouldn't go to this one again which is a shame as the staff member who took my order was lovely, but would try another cafe.

Firstly the coffee is pretty nice! Staff very friendly and the location is very convenient! The upstairs is almost like a hidden gem, with huge glass windows overseeing the city, its lovely to sit and do work and just enjoy some food. Not sure if it was me but it was quite chilly in the cafe, likely due to AC. Overall a great cafe spot

The young fella that served me that day was very helpful especially when it came to using my accumulated points unlike the previous day at Costa Victoria centre who wouldn't let me use my points very annoying even when the girl said I had the English app downloaded when it said on the app Costa Ireland, but there you go.

Overpriced not that good coffee. Frappucino was just cold plain coffee with caramel, horrible and loud rap and pop music not fit for a café playing inside. Sandwiches were amazing though.

2 small lattes and a teeny tiny yogurt/granola pot cost £8.70!!!!! Absolute Madness. Staff were pleasant - although we did ask for the coffee in take away cups but they came in glass? Barely anyone customers in the city centre place and at these prices not sure how sustainable a business is charging nearly £9 for 2 coffees and 100g yogurt pot!! Toilets inaccessible without a ‘code’ which we only realised you had to get from staff.. not ideal. Sorry Costa used to be a go-to but won’t be back.

Loved their coffee! I guess the person who was on the counter he was very good with making it. He definitely know alot about coffee making otherwise I have tasted coffee from alot of other costa cafes around the UK but I must say this was the best one. Really impressed!!!

As visiting Northern Ireland for first time was flabbergasted to learn that I couldn't use my costa card here as this is costas Ireland. Not really sure what's happened in last couple of days but did believe this was also the uk.also my cake was a dry as a stick so not my happiest costa moment

I love it, and the team are so great but there is one thing that I really hate, and it’s really noisy , the MUSIC sound so loud and the type of the music doesn’t match a cafè , I feel myself sitting in a nightclub, especially sitting in the second floor would cause you a headache

Popped in for a coffee and a toastie. Usual Costa fair. Friendly, pleasant staff.

No sanitiser - empty bottle. People standing on top of each other waiting for their orders. Plenty of space upstairs, carpeted and with good seating. Upstairs also has views over Castle Place so you can watch the world go by. Toilets upstairs not accessible as there’s a key pad. Are people really expected to go downstairs to ask for a code for the toilets? 2* because of toilet access and no sanitiser. Iced tea not great.

🌟 Friendly & nice staff. It seemed that a free reward in my Costa app was not applicable in NI stores (could only be redeemed in Costa cafes based in England?🤔). But one of the staff members still kindly offered a hot chocolate. Belfast never lets me down :) People here are so nice. 🌟 A lovely & beautifully decorated & spacious cafe. Felt warm & welcomed & peaceful while sitting inside. 🌟 Nice coffees & hot chocolate — as always. 🌟 Also serves desserts — looked delicious. 🌟 I love one quote on a picture on the wall (near the front door & windows): Better latte than never. Yes, and better late the never 😉

How embarrassing and offensive? At the till to be informed they do not accept UK Costa loyalty card for points. Nor would they accept a UK gift card as part payment. They did however conveniently take my UK Sterling, which was helpful 🙄, no need for Euros a real blessing!

If all you want is quiet place to chill this the place. No loud music 🎶 blasting out. Which means you can have a chat it's a great place and the staff are really friendly.

Poor service the staff need retrained. Customer service dreadful. I ordered soup and asked for bread with it (answer we have run out of bread) they didn't offer me an alternative. This is 2pm on a Sunday. My latte order was wrong. It took the girl 3 attempts to get it right. The staff where to busy moaning about another staff member. I think the management team need to retrain the 2 staff that was on 16/02/2020. I won't use this Costa shop again.

Good coffee sat up stairs and just watched Belfast go by. They could do with cleaning to tables more often. We were there 20 minutes and never cleaned up. Nice and warm place to have a coffee

The few times I've been here they have been under staffed. Long waiting times cue or no cue but the were nice but don't know if it's worth the wait.

customer service discusting, My friend order an strawberries & cream and the face of the barista today at this time loking at her collegue like Oh Jesus why I have to work? Like he don't want to work here so.. He should quit! and I saw him talking with the staff about the caramel, something was wrong with it but first he prepared my and the he trought away. I ordered a hazelnut latte, they gave me just a latte. I could have changed, couldn't be bothered. The chocolate muffin was too crumbly. Starbuck's muffin is identical in taste and presentation but better consistency. The seating area was dirty, although I did staff removing trays and cups, but not a wet wipe to clean the table to be seen in the horizon. UK people need to step up their cleanliness game. The music was not too loud, was discreet, but you could here what everyone was talking about, difficult to focus on your conversation, unless everyone speaks hushed. All in all, standard practices, ok coffee, bring your own antibacterial wipes for the table, especially if your kid will be touching the table. If you want better, try the bistros with real service, like the Parisien.

Very expensive . 2 read and 3 wee cakes nearly £9 !!
