Relaxed atmosphere with polite, friendly and helpful staff. So many food and drink options to choose from. The menu is simple and not overwhelming. The food and drinks are brought to you quite quickly, which is great. The price is fair and reasonable as everything is fresh. There are also take-out options. Thank you team😀

Good place for breakfast. It's not entirely cheap but I think it's worth it for what they offer. The site is very nice.

All I can say is wow!!!! I ordered a cake for my sisters 40th birthday and hand on heart I have never tasted a nicer cake in my life!! If I could give 10 stars I would, and so beautifully decorated. Thankyou so much to whoever made this. It was PERFECT!!! Xxxxxxxx

Beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon on the Lisburn road. We stopped for a quick bite to eat. Great food,friendly and efficient staff, lovely atmosphere 👌

Decent enough food, what you’d expect from mid range cafe in Lisburn Road. However, service is the worst in Belfast. Wait for table, ignored completely. Table service staff were so disengaged it was outrageous. Will never be back.

We were going to stop off somewhere handy and thought, why not it's been a while since we've been there so I looked at the online menu and reviews on Google and the Fryston look delicious but then when we arrived and got seated we were told the kitchen doesn't open Mon-Wed so frys were a no go. So I got French toast and it was swimming in syrup and it was 1 big bit of bread burnt. Don't think we'll be back here unfortunately.

The best breakfast cafe. Really beautiful and cozy place to have breakfast ( they have indoor and outdoor sitting arrangements). Loved the fresh bakery items and the French toast is like the most delectable one. Coffee amazing, we tried cappuccino and chai latte. A chai lover can go for this chai latte definitely.

We decided to call down for a small lunch for a catch up, I decided to have the avocado and toast which is my go to wherever I go and it was lovely! Ordered a smoothie as well which was delicious. Everyone was friendly. Definitely would go back all the sweet treats looked great as well

Absolute gem of a place, popped in for breakfast and it was divine. Cannot recommend the chefs breakfast more and for the quality of the food the prices are fair.

Yes coffee was nice but £3.25 for a regular coffee that was about 100ml is absurdly expensive. You can get more for your money in other cafes.

This place was right beside our hotel and we went for brunch. Staff friendly and service prompt. We ordered club sandwiches and the portions were huge. Really lovely and came with fries. We went on our last day but wish we had discovered it sooner.

A really nice place to have lunch on the Lisburn Road Belfast. I ordered the French Toast with extra Bacon and a Cappuccino. Toast was a thick doorstop of a chunk of sweet bread that was crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. I got extra bacon as the pup was with me. You probably wouldn’t need extra on your own. Cappuccino was creamy and full of flavour. Perfect brunch! I would highly recommend 😎

Terrible. Staff member greeting people as they arrived was unpleasant and rude. Asked for a menu and felt like we were bothering him. Left before ordering as service was so terrible. Won’t be back. Disappointing. Seems to be a common occurrence when you read the reviews.

Very expensive two sausage rolls and two coffees £17.50

Went Sunday about 2pm to sit in. Service was slow but not packed inside or out. Ordered 2 chicken focaccia and took about 20 mins before they brought out, they looked reheated. 2 small bottles of water and no glasses. Other customers on tables outside seemed to get served faster maybe as they ordered sausage rolls, don't know. In the end had to go in and pay bill as no staff about outside.

Got takeout treats here as a gift, reasonably priced and good service

Good food (if pretty pricey) and good atmosphere for meeting friends. Also they were very accommodating about letting us sit at a table for six, over a busy lunch period, even though three of our party arrived 15 minutes late. We will definitely be back.

One of my favourite places on the Lisburn Road.

Terrible service .. very poor service and very disappointed. There was a waitress wearing Green pastel top on 20 th may 2023 who was very rude and made us disappointed about the seating. Even though I made clear that I was on the queue first she was making everything confusing and made me into such an uncomfortable position as if I was not supposed to be seated. Waited long for the dessert and had to finally cancel and walk away. Sat for an hour , not even a single person came to pick up the plates. Not going back . The sandwich my husband ordered was terrible and he didn’t even finish it . Thankyou for such a bad experience. Please try to appoint waitresses who knows customer service.

Atrocious service. After being seated for 45mins waiting on a food, I asked a waiter is there any update on our order. To which he replied “you mean youse haven’t got your food yet?” Waiter went away and came back saying they are going to “put it on now”. I promptly said to just forget about it and we will sort elsewhere. I cannot comment on the quality of the food as we didn’t get that far. Avoid at all costs.

Best garlic bread going. Shame on 2 visits the staff couldn't confirm the buns ingredients for dietary requirements and also check your order before paying, asked for 5 buns, paid thinking it was expensive and walked home and then realised they sold me 7.

Poor, slow, unwelcoming service. Awkward times when hot food is available. We left and had a fresh breakfast in one of the many better options on the Lisburn road. It’s nice to be served by staff who don’t make you feel as if you’re interrupting their day.

Selling day old STALE stock (pastry) at full (high) price. Usually great despite price, but by time i noticed i was too far away to return. Disappointing and will not be back.

Great deli sandwiches, friendly and quick service. My niece spilled her (delicious) hot chocolate by accident, and the serving team replaced it with no fuss. Great place for a hearty lunch.

Would be nice if 1) the staff on the desk understood how a queue works and acknowledged other people had been waiting in line for over 5 minutes for a takeaway traybake, instead of calling other rude, arrogant, greedy customers who will happily queue jump. And 2) when I say mint traybake, I mean MINT, not a fifteen (luckily I checked the bag before leaving the shop) - active listening required.

Breakfast and service was great the only thing that let the experience down was not receiving a drinks menu so we didn’t have an idea what to order to drink.

Be prepared for slow service. Food was good however.

Called in for coffee and dessert. Seated quickly, downhill from there. Waited ages to order, despite trying to catch the eye of servers. Finally got someone who tried to enter our order on a hand held device which she had problems navigating, apparently there was no cheesecake but we (including server) could see it in the cabinet! Got it ordered and then waited. And waited. Drinks and one dessert arrived - a lemonade and half cup of coffee. No sign of the cheesecake so again we waited. And waited. Managed to get another server who looked totally lost. Cheesecake arrived after coffee was finished and my partners dessert had been shared between us. Woeful From we arrived until we got cheesecake was 25 minutes! If we hadnt already prepaid we would have left much sooner.

There seemed to be a lot of staff in but not any organisation, we ended up waiting a long time (about 90 mins in all) for a table and then to order. Food came quick enough, but then ages to get the bill. Food itself was fine. Was disappointed because we've been to other ones and it's been great.

We visited this place for a family lunch as we have been several times before. However as anyone with young children knows it is difficult to entertain young children after having to wait in a table. As a result our 2 year old bent a print that she found on a shelf before we took it off her, the assistant manager was so rude that I left the shop in such a rage. She first of all addressed me asking me if the print was ours and already purchased, I explained we hadn’t, she then ordered me to pay for it as it was ruined, when I went to take it from her to pay, she changed her mind and continued to be rude and sulky. I have never been spoken to so rudely by someone who has no respect for customers and consideration for the amount they have just paid for disgraceful customer care. Not quite how I imagined spending my afternoon.

French Village Lisburn Road has went seriously downhill … no fresh food for breakfast, kitchen doesn’t open until 11am apparently, so it’s stale hard bread until then … it’s a pitty used to be great … best avoided £10 for bacon & toast … won’t be back

For something so simple it has been made sooooo difficult. QR code ordering that is totally useless and unnecessary, and we couldn’t even get it to work. We were also told if it doesn’t work (experience speaking here) just order at the till and give your table number. Back at the till and the queue or lack thereof put us off completely, after being on the premises 20mins and still no order taken or given we gave up and went elsewhere! NEVER AGAIN

Arrived in to the Lisburn Road branch on a Sunday with my young family - sadly there was no indication that there was no fresh food due to no chef - why not have a sign up? Wouldn't saved us so much hassle. Also the app didn't work either. I had to go up and ask what was going on. So if you only want coffee and a pre-made Sandwich on a Sunday, then it's fine. Otherwise avoid.

Great Sunday brunch, perfect cure.

I had been meaning to try here for ages (What a fool I am!) The one star awarded is to reflect a well-furnished, bright and clean premises. We took our seats here around 12.15, not too busy, read the sign on the table requesting that we order using a QR code. Sadly I don’t know how to do this. I’m not thick, I’m just over fifty! Queued at the counter to place order, no proper queuing system as people converged from the left and the right towards the single cashier who didn’t care who was next in line. It was like an EasyJet boarding gate, chaotic and unsavoury, I saw people who arrived after me being served before me. The cashier was totally disinterested, she lacked manners, please and thanks were never uttered from her mouth. The most dreadful customer (lack of) care I have ever witnessed. I ordered a salmon bagel @ £8.50 and a beef toastie @ £8.00 plus tea and americano. The bagel I’m told was tasteless and bland but the toastie was absolutely inedible. The beef was tougher than shoe leather, my knife could not cut through it, my teeth couldn’t chew it. I brought it home for the dog who also refused it. The bill was £21.60, I offered two twenty pound notes and was told they didn’t have change, so I had to pay by card. This is the clearest example of a business relying upon an old reputation. Sadly now that I’ve highlighted the issues, I can’t return to this restaurant. A real shame.

So slow. The complex order process takes for ever. It starts with a scanning of a QR code but just goes on and on. They even want to know your address! Then the food takes ages to arrive. Granted the food itself is nice when you actually get it. If you are from French Village and reading this - have you ever heard of Apple Pay or Google pay? - fast and secure

Visited with family at about 10.30 , very disappointed. Credit card machine not working , unable to order at the table , online ordering from The table not working , tables not cleaned properly, staff disinterested, menu for breakfast very limited before 11 am , food well below average and hugely overpriced , coffee cold . Will not be back .

I absolutely loved the food. If you are arround, give it a visit, you wont regret it. Its also not too expensive.

I called in to French Village, Lisburn Road Belfast for a bite of breakfast and a cup of tea. I had a lovely cup of tea. However, when I asked if they had any Gluten Free options for breakfast, I was told that all they had was a packet of Glens of Antrim brand crisps. No Gluten Free bread, scones and no offer of any alternative options. There’s no excuse in 2022 to have no decent gluten free options available. In the future I’ll go to other Lisburn Road cafes that have a wide range of gluten free options available.

Their bread is great, but the service not so much. The queues are long (due to inefficiency, not demand). I ordered two take away pancake stacks, got home to find they have given us the wrong order and won't answer the phone (three attempts) to do anything about it so I guess I'll make my own lunch and throw the £12 in the bin. Not the best use of my lunch hour and certainly did not achieve the desired effect of cheering up an already miserable Friday. Edit: After reaching them via email they offered a generous discount code as an apology for the mix up with the order, so updating from one to four stars, since the bread is excellent and the service is working to improve. Perhaps when we get to try the dishes we ordered they might even get to thier fifth star.

Stale sourdough bread for £3.50 I decided to go to the french village bakery on the Lisburn road to buy some fresh sourdough bread and hummus for a picnic. Whilst i was impressed by their new shop layout and the quality of their hummus, i unfortunately cant say the same for their bread. It was stale, lacking in any flavour and dry as a bone. Not even their hummus could rescue it. For £3.50, i was expecting a higher quality than this. I've tried a number of different sourdoughs before from other bakeries in Belfast and unfortunately, this bread just doesnt compare. French village has an amazing range of homemade tray-bakes, cakes and pastries that I would recommend to anyone, but their bread is a different story.
