Costa Coffee in North Dorset

The 2 guys working on Saturday at 4.50pm were extremely patient and helpful when we ordered 3 drinks just before them closing. Nothing was too much trouble, great people, 10/10.

Thank you to the young men working today in Shaftesbury Costa today. I went in to buy two hot drinks for myself and my partner. It was my first day out since having COVID for the second time. While trying to order I completely got my wording wrong ordering the wrong drink! The gentleman taking my order was so kind as I got all my words wrong and forgetting the name of what I wanted. The kindness shown in the end by both of them was amazing. I hope you pass on my thanks. Claire

it just wasn't that good to be honest, no bacon baps or sausage baps, everything else on the menu was either with cheese or not gluten free. in the end it wasn't that nice and only 1 person was working. service was good but slow.

Excellent service on Sunday the 11th August, one member of staff working on his own remained professional and courteous despite large que 👍

Went in on Sunday, when there was a small market in town. Very busy, not enough staff on. Dirty tables, no atmosphere, could not hear the staff acknowledging customers Disappointed 😞

I went in this morning and was greeted by the lovely Andrew and Leo. Andrew made me a lovely Dirty Chia with Oat milk to try as a recommendation and it was delicious. Thank you for the excellent customer service and Lovely drink.

Was visiting the area for a few days. This was our morning coffee stop. Lovely nice shop tucked away near the church. Clean and cosy. Barista Andrew provided excellent service and welcoming atmosphere every time. Thank you

Normally I give high scores to Costa but this lost a vote from me. Very busy coffee shop with all the usual Costa fare. Quite tight around the dated furniture and not as clean and tidy as I like. Clean facilities but damaged door lock. Four stars and not three given due to the lovely, helpful and attentive staff team. Well done them. If not for them I might have looked for a different coffee shop on my next visit.

I always buy a takeaway hot chocolate on a Thursday before my volunteering in Oxfam bookshop, premises are OK but rather dark.

Visited on Sunday - Really disappointed by the attitudes of the staff making you feel incredibly unwelcome. Felt as though staff couldn’t care less and looked down on customers, sadly this seemed to be the case with every interaction I witnessed whilst there. A customer went to the counter to ask staff for some paper towels to wipe up a spillage, the staff member completely dismissed this and told them to use toilet roll from the toilet that was engaged at the time. Extremely poor management and service needs to be looked at.

Quick, polite and friendly staff, had coffee served in about 3 minutes. Excellent, recommended most definitely.

The coffee, toasted sandwich and cake were great. Only gave 3 stars because one of the servers was tying her shoelaces behind the counter when she stood up she didn't wash her hands

Lovely folk! Great coffee, great position in town. Edit: 6/2/17. Refurbished, light and airy. With added sofa! Edit: 12/9/21. Post (?) Covid. Hand sanitiser still available. Coffee still excellent. No outside seating available for smokers

Great little Costa shop with a friendly team. Usual great selection of tasty treats too. Adjacent to a lovely scenic walk past the Abbey with benches to admire the views.

Quiet so served quickly which is always nice. Just the usual over priced coffee so nothing to sing and dance about. Just realised i get 110 point for buying one coffee from a machine but 45 points for buying 3 coffees from shop. Wondering what all that's about!!!!. Staff are friendly and covid compliant!!!!

Slow! I appreciate staff are working under difficult conditions but it wasn't busy. I waited more than 10 minutes probably closer to 15) for a hot drink, which isn't good. It wasn't helped by someone coming in after me and getting theirs made first.

It so small that be open is hard work to get 1 coffee and 1 tea took 20 min this is because woman in for t of que ordered 8 coffee if o e person sorted this the other person could have served others as not all her order was coffee 2 tea 2chocolate 2 special coffee 2 smothes

Was always good before, but took a turn for the worst with my last experience. One drink wasn't available, my frostino had no flavour, and had chunks of ice in it.

Clean premises, good staff. Regular late coffee needs more coffee than a small one, it's too weak. Pay for an extra shot, why? I've paid extra for the coffee. Come on Costa, customers first?

Staff acting like they couldn't care less about their job, customer service skills are hugely lacking, also shows when they don't put in the syrup I'd paid for. Won't bother with here next time we're driving through Shaftesbury.

This costa isn't very clean or friendly. I find the manager can be very rude. The tables are not clean and the staff look like they don't even want to be working there, drinks are very poor for the amount of money!

I normally love a good Costa but today this was most disappointing. We arrived at 5:10 and they where more interested in going home. There was loads of the store closed off.witg a dirty mop. The coffee was tasteless. The store scuffy.

Got takeaway cups x4 . 2 made with new batch of milk fine. 2 made with previous bag of milk were off we discovered once we were on our way.

Currently sat in there now amongst cake crumbs (lots) all over the table, floor and seats. Dirty tables, floor, cups, and saucers. Chipped crockery. All this while the staff stand around chatting. Disgusting hygiene!!

I love Costa coffee but I no longer buy Costa coffee or go to the Cafes because they do not pay their taxes. As with Cafe Nero, this is a shame because the staff are great.

By far the worst Costa Coffee I have been to, I ordered 2 Lattes an ice Latte and a salted caramel Crunch. The two hot drinks tasted up to standard made by Shannon. The two cold drinks just tasted like milk. That I can deal with as not everyone knows how to make an ice coffee very well. I got 2 “hot” chicken Fajita Wraps. I’ve ordered these before from various Costas around London and have never experience customer service this appalling. The fajita wraps were not cooked through still cold in the middle! I know they’re put on a timer and the only reasonable explanation to why they was cold is your supervisor mustn’t have been following procedures and took the wraps out early. This might not be the case and he may have left them in for the correct time but the bottom line is the food was still cold. I would suggest either product recall or training your “supervisor” on correct procedures. I took 1 bite of the Wrap and told them it was still cold in the middle. Considering the chicken is being reheated in the first place, it is level 1 food hygiene to know you shouldn’t reheat chicken TWICE! I did not make a scene I calmly explained to Kalum (Supervisor) you should not reheat Chicken twice he and Beth W then started Arguing the point that it’s fine to reheat chicken Twice. Raising there voices to me I calmly just asked for a refund. Then was asked to leave by Kalum after I sat back down he shouted it from across the room causing a scene. I will be calling the Manager/Franchise Owner tomorrow as this is not at all to the standard of a big cooperation like Costa.

Treated with disdain by the staff who could barely being themselves to speak more than a few words to us. The staff not only looked like they wanted to die, but that they wished the customers would also. Costa is always bad, but this one manages to be exceptionally poor.

I pop in here quite often and it's a lovely place for catching up with friends, the coffee is better than many other coffee shops in Shaftesbury and the people who work here are very friendly and good to have a chat with. I've been coming here for a while and to this day I can't find anywhere that does a better caramel latte! The chicken and bacon toasties are to die for and the cake is normally pretty good too. The cafe can get busy sometimes with tourists and the general people of Shaftesbury, but at the right times it's quite quiet and a nice place to relax. It's kept clean and it's clear the people who work here care about what they're doing.

I'm a barista mistro and this place can be great however there is a particular male member of staff that just never makes good coffee I ordered two large caramel lattes and I had to get him to make it again as there was to much frothe. He obviously needs more training aside from this it's okay i would rate the one in Gillingham much better though..

I love Costa Coffee always very good cappuccino and hot chocolate I go mostly they're twice a week because I live further away it is always a treat to go there

I am giving this five stars as the Store has been here from the early days of the chain. It has kept the Mission statement of the Company loyally since it opened. The Owners keep it well maintained & fitting to Shaftesbury. The HR seem to have a talent for selecting the right staff for the area. Inviting food greets you as you enter & keeps going until you reach the counter. Free news papers to read while enjoying your favourite beverage. The bathroom are well kept & there is seating outside. All together a nice coffee break from exploring this historic town.

Ok, service can be slow. Last visit one person making 3 drinks. Manager and other member of staff chatting instead of helping.

It's a very cosy and comfortable place with friendly staff. It has recently been refurbished so is lighter and feels more spacious inside, still the same friendly helpful staff. There are some new items on the menu as well.

If you're going to open on Boxing Day don't make customers feel guilty for coming in. Unwelcoming.

It is one of the best Costas I have been in it was so busy we had last table but only two staff .They were so good and served every one quickly and efficiently with a smile enjoy my cappuccino loads of Froth

one member of staff very rude i would not employ her in my coffee shop and I think she may have been the manager as she jumped down my throat to explain the bill the simple problem can be resolved if i can see the till screen witch is hidden behind a shelf bad management i think will not go back what a shame as were in shaftesbury alot and i love costa coffee

This branch has just had a re-fit, smartening up its premises. It looks great, however there does seem to be less seating now.
