A very quiet and comfortable place. Their atmosphere reminds me of Saudi cafes that are always empty, but the staff feel crowded 😭 The dessert is half and half, not the same as that, and I recommend the iced flat white

Thought it was just a one off the first time I visited this branch when a server was really rude to me. She clearly had a massive attitude over me wanting to return a reusable flask. I’d purchased it at the drive through and therefore thought it would be ok to return it the same way, but no!! She was absolutely horrid and insisted I went into the store, so I did, but her attitude towards me continued, it was appalling. So today (months later) I thought I’d give it another go, but sadly the server was rude and not interested. To top it off he got our order wrong. The young girl that brought the drinks out was very sweet and resolved it quickly, but I don’t think I’ll bother again. Didn’t feel welcome at all.

Asked for a Frappe however the staff member said she had run out and wasn’t going to make anymore ?? Plus card machine wasn’t working !! But still wanted to charge full price for half a drink. Poor service.

A good Costa with friendly staff.

There are not many places left that still deliver good customer service but this place is definitely one of them. Staff who served me were all so friendly, polite and went out of their way to be helpful. Thank you!

My drink was half melted and tasted old. Frappe had way too much coffee, tasted odd. Staff seemed uninterested

Have found quite a few time's the staff at this branch are rude and generally uninterested in serving you. Table's left dirty whilst staff stand around chatting. Often shut before stated closing time's.

Great location and atmosphere. As I am having a coffee before my work ( 6:30am -7am ) I am one of the first clients and it just so disappointing that I keep having chemical taste coffee, as coffee machine is clearly not washed properly, need more times rinsing with water.

It's a few times now that I go there after 6.30 am and our coffee tastes like cleaning chemicals. I went to ask for a replacement and it tasted the same. I am very disappointed that you pay £3.80 for a coffee and it can ruin your morning. More care should be taken when cleaning machines please

Hot chocolate tasted weak, lemon muffin was quite dry and over powering taste of lemon flavouring, The housekeeping needs to be addressed, tables ( we looked at 4 before sitting at the cleanest one, which was still covered in crumbs and drink stains, the floor was pretty bad for crumbs as well, THE severest was friendly, warm, and speedy

Just visited this site where they appeared to be more focus on drive thru than the counter service. Only one at the counter but sadly departed empty handed to go elsewhere

The ladies at the service hatch absolutely made my day I'm a gingerbread latte freak and am gutted that if you have a large you don't get the little gingerbread man but as I was moaning to my best friend the young lady gave me a gingerbread man to put in my drink 😮 those little things go a long way keep up the good work and I will always come to this Costa when I'm back in town! thank you too all and especially the gingerbread giver 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

Just attended with my mother. Painfully slow service from the staff member behind the counter. He failed to include an item in the order clearly not concentrating. Most frustrating was that on most of the tables inside there was used cups - the paying customer has to clear them in order to sit down. Utterly awful place.

Just been thru drive thru the girl was really rude I ordered a salted caramel frappe when I go to pay she said she made a iced latte and I have to have it she can't change it as she's already made it

typically really good, however my last coffee there tasted like soap :(

Oscar is nicest Barista Costa has ever had.

Really like this site, really friendly every time I go. I find it hit and miss with the salted caramel frappes here as sometimes they are great and sometimes just taste of milk, otherwise great site!

This Costa is my favourite branch, and for good reason. I visit a lot of different Costa's in South London and none of them compare to this one for their excellent fresh coffee . The service, location and atmosphere are also a bonus! Bradley is an excellent barista who is friendly and professional whilst at the same time happy to have a quick chat. Every time I'm in this part of Essex I make sure I come here for a rich, smooth, Americano!

Great location. Wasn't busy when I arrived. The lotus Cheesecake was fantastic. My latte was perfectly made. Thank you.

Sunday afternoon. Popped in for a drink. So called shift manager made my wife the wrong drink despite us trying to get his attention. When informed, he just turned and threw the frappe with the lid still on into the sink behind him and made it again after rolling his eyes. It's pretty like that who make you not want to return.

They do the best chocolate brownie frapp.

Lovely store, lots of seating, not too close together. Really friendly staff. Great coffee, as always.

came by 8:30 and on the door it said only drive thru is available. totally not committing the opening hours. and it isn’t the first time. disappointed!

I got to the drive through waited at the p a system but no one spoke...so I drove to the windows but there was no one at the window to serve me so I honked my horn to call for their attention. A member of staff came to the window didn't asked me what I wanted and said she wouldn't serve me because I honked my horn. How rude is that? her attitude was stinking and she shut the windows at me when I tried to speak to her. For a taxi driver, I understand people can be annoying sometimes but her attitude leaves a lot to be desired. Is this the way Costa St Andrews Road Colchester trains their members of staff? Very very appalling customer service. I left without being served. Please can anyone tell me if I was wrong. I will highly advise to avoid this bad attitude customer service shop. Costa St Andrews Road Colchester. Shame on you for allowing unprofessional people to be at the front of house.

Nice location, positive place and quiet.

Loved this last time. Today it looked grubby, tables were not being cleaned, litter surrounding staff behind counter. Very disappointed 😟 hopefully just a bad day.

Been going here since it opened. Nice size, always a place to sit . Other than that it's your standard Costa, staff are friendly.

I walked in and no one in the queue 4 employees behind the counter waited and waited over 20 min to be served or at least get recognised or asked what I wanted . The 4 employees avoided any eye contact and tried to look busy when it was not even busy there they only made 1 order while i am standing there . At the end I ran out of time and bought a drink from the subway next door . What a service !!!

Nice coffee shop great atmosphere, clean and bright

It's well stocked but the don't do the vegan sausage or bacon breakfast...

It’s a shame to write this review but every time I visit this Costa the tables are dirty, crumbs over the seats and the floor is never cleaned. A staff member was pouring coffee into a takeaway cup and spilled a lot of coffee over my tray making no attempt to clean it up. Another staff member placed my food and drink on the tray and served it to me still covered in coffee, along with a knife with old food on it. I’m amazed at the lack care towards what is served to customers and the standard of cleanliness. Whoever is in charge needs to rectify these problems.

staff weren't happy in their job , no customer service, tables dirty, no straws for the cold drinks 5 members of staff could see there was people waiting but did nothing.

The product is good by drive through service is extremely slow. I waited nearer twenty minutes for a coffee this morning with only three cars ahead of me when I ordered.

A usual Costas, shame they are so slow clearing and cleaning the tables.

Staff friendly, but service very slow and drinks poorly made. Got the Valentine’s Day special Coolers but they had large chunks of ice in. Took 5 mins to make despite being the only customers. Ended up only drinking half. Very disappointed

Unfortunately not had a correct order so far. 2nd time in a row that our order has been wrong despite them confirming the order back to me. Today there were 3 people manning the drive-thru, which was quiet, and only one 1 person serving the busy lunch rush. Pretty disappointing so far.

Very clean, nice, and modern. Staff very kind and helpful. Amazing food. 5/5.
