Costa Coffee in Braintree

I went in to purchase a cheese & tomato toastie. I observed a staff member using the same tongs and same chopping board for a bacon roll and cheese toastie. Therefore I walked right out and won't be returning. This is really basic food hygiene knowledge. Hate to think what other hygiene rules they don't follow.

We asked to clean the table, after 10 minutes comes moody waitress! She swiped all rubish on other chair, when we ask her to clean the chair too she said we are rude! Get some manners moody girl or dont work if you dont like your job!!!

What lovely staff, what great air-conditioning. What a great barista in Reece ... Perfect iced double espresso. A great place to sit in the cool and grab a decent coffee.

We sat outside but I had a prawn mayo prepacked sandwich. What a disappointment and going out of date on the day I bought it. £23 for 3 sandwiches 3 drinks and those horrible crisps yuk never again

Toilets were filthy. Wet floor strewn with toilet roll. Hair and dirt on toilet and wash basin. Disgusting toilet and some body had 'dirtied' the seat!

It was pouring down with rain so I went into Costa. I thought I was going to spend 35 minutes drinking my coffee but after about 2 minutes a staff member, who barely put the small sentence together, said they are closing early at 5:30pm! They should have told me that before I ordered my coffee! Of course, I would not have ordered it! And to add insult to injury the girl who let me out said your welcome because I didn't say anything to her when I left! Terrible service!

I am not normally a Costa coffee fan. I don't like chain coffee shops generally. However at Freeport needs must as there is little choice. I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. A delicious gingerbread latte and excellent service. Oh and toilets were spotless. It deserves 5 stars.

this store brainmakes me realise why I like being in costa coffee in Freeport the staff are friendly and polite and give you the best service available most of the time they are busy that's why when you wait for your coffee and snacks you are getting fresh and hot you look around the empty tables are always clean and the floor spotless have used the toilet no change always cleaned regular and what ever food I've eaten they have always tasted fresh and not dry thanks to the staff inside thanks to you all have a great Christmas 23

Great coffee and amazing team members

Staff very friendly and helpful, area clean access good for disabled and wheel chair. Drinks makers on the day could have spent more time making drinks than chit chat between each other. Not to say they cannot talk but on that day it was a bit OTT. But usually very good.

Popped in here for a coffee while shopping must say it was a very pleasant experience staff we're very friendly and good at what they do wide selection of drinks and snacks

This is the most SLOWEST costa ever! It would be quicker to get the coffee beans and grind them yourself by hand and prepare the coffee by boiling the kettle by using a magnifying glass on the kettle. Absolutely garbage service!

Very bad no soya, no almond, no oat milk. They had tiny bit of coconut milk left for mums latte. I had to go elsewhere and get a tea with soya as they completely run out..how can such a big company run out of dairy free alternatives. Very frustrating for dairy intolerence suffer.they

Wow, a Costa that knows what they're doing! Amazing experience, probably the busiest Costa I have ever been in and everything was running smoothly and staff were happy, whoever trained these guys should visit the Southend,Rayleigh and Hockley Costas to improve their services.

A very busy Costa with very little space. Served by Adriana who couldn’t care less if she served me or not. No customer service, smile or thanks. Impolitely spoken to. Had to ask for a receipt twice. Put it on the counter rather than my outreaching hand. Wasn’t asked if I was drinking in or taking away. Spoke with the lady making the drink, Maddie who made it to take away. Regret going to be honest. Not money well spent.

Friendly staff, food and drinks were yummy! Have heard customers complain about lack of seating- not the staff's fault?! Bless them, can hardly build an extension onto the building themselves and increase seating There is sometimes a queue, but I just choose to pop to another shop first and go back afterwards. Again, unavoidable and can't be helped Staff definitely deserve to be cut some slack All in all, a lovely little café, lovely staff, will always be our go to

Very busy costa it is open before 10 o'clock which is great if you get to the shopping outlet before 10.Had a lovely lemon muffin good service

It was busy along queue to be served

Possibly the noisiest coffee shop ever! So loud the poor staff couldn't hear the orders, all the orders were wrong. Long queues. Dark and hot inside. I really felt sorry for the staff.

EXCELLENT service! Wonderful food! Quick and delicious. Special shout out to the wonderful young staff Frank and Darcy! Will 100% be visiting again

Best bacon bap for breakfast, elevenses and lunch followed by a delicious hot cappuccino.

Always a fantastic small treat having a coffee or bite to eat here. The staff are upbeat, professional and courteous throughout. The tables, surfaces and toilets are always clean and cleaned throughout the day. The outdoor seating on a sunny day adds to the overall experience. This is a solid 5 star establishment and very well deserved too.

Great coffee very busy dealt with quickly.

It was alright, the hand dryer in the toilet didn't work. And tbh my cheese toastie was kinda dry and our cappuccino was too sugary.

A very busy Costa, we did manage to get a table to sit out of the rain. Service was quick at the counter with well stocked sugars and stirrers if needed, lovely staff who were all very helpful and busy keeping the cafe clean.

Visit regularly and very good. Could easily benefit from larger eat in area especially at weekends.

I always go to this coffee shop when I am in Freeport. To be honest not much choice in here for a quick takeaway coffee. Costa has a basic standard so doesn't much to expect. I feel for the staff as it can be very busy and the guys are overstretched, some customers don't have patience!! I won't mind to wait, especially I know they are busy.

It must be nearing Halloween! Today my little 2.5yr old nephew was denied a flake for his gingerbread latte.. They had no gingerbread men left to garnish what is usually a 5 star drink.. But not today.. They had ran out of these little gingerbread men so we asked whether she could have a flake instead. But no, denied! We were told that the flake was for a different drink and we would have to pay more. So we replied that we would like some money back for the missing gingerbread man, so that we could then purchase a flake. No, denied!!

It's Costa, like most chains, does what it says on the tin. Safe default option, but local vendors tend to be cheaper, better quality

Super fast service when we got to the till but the place was absolutely packed so we had to walk off and find a seat somewhere else not in costa

We had excellent well made coffee, the store was very busy but the service was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A great coffee shop to use.

Guys use the app and order your coffee or wharever you want. Much easier and fast. Brintree costa it's killer to stay in the queue.

The place was good however they only had one till and a huge line of customers. Despite that the service was great, the products were delicious highly recommend the strawberry and cream frostino and the mango fruit cooler. The cinnamon bun was to die for! Very cute little coffee shop, perfect place for refreshments while shopping!

Took forever to get served, then the latte,s were luke warm, not impressed ,not again thanks.

There was a host at the door so felt very safe in these strange times. He was very apologetic about the wait which was nice and didn't have to wait too long either

Don’t expect to get a coffee waiting for the shops to open! - they will be doing their collection orders and the queue is ridiculous, took me 30 mins to get a coffee!

Frankly the coffee was nothing special but, what let me give 2 stars was the very unpolite guy at the front door, he was rude and confusing. He disappeared, we saw that someone went out from the shop so we get in following the covid rules, he came to us and say that we must to wait outside and he will tell us when we can get in (he said in a very rude way), we shown him that there are no sign that say to wait there and he said "because I'm at the front door... I decide", we told him that he wasn't there, that's why we get him and he replied "I'm at the door I don't need any sign and you wait there". Very rude and it penalise the company image.

Spent 30 mins queuing outside at 1230pm lunchtime. No movement, looked inside, slow service. Left and returned 2.20 and another 40 mins queuing inside. Slow counter service. no supervision, no guidence. Poor experience.

Standard Costa fare. As usual, really poor gluten-free selection ( necessary/essential for some people) as opposed to a somewhat better vegan selection (unnecessary, but a life-style choice).

Love Costa and really glad they are open again. Shame staff are not allowed to turn out people that sit there for hours using their laptops, like other coffee places.

Have to stand 2m apart to queue for drinks yet you sit half a metre apart to drink it bit mad?

Coffee was nice and food generally was good but they certainly haven’t got the gist of sorting out social distancing. It was appalling with the shop really busy and long queues to order and pay. Staff were incredibly slow and they seemed to have no idea what they were doing.

Had to queue for about 20-25 mins just to get served. However, once food came it was delicious! Couldn’t have had better costa coffee food! More staff need to be employed, the poor staff were rushed off their feet with so many customers waiting to order their food.
