Costa Coffee in Cambridge

Terrible service, all rushed and just one person to take orders and make coffee. Better to buy pastries from Tesco and have them at home

I'd NOT recommend this coffee shop. The reason is that they charged me significantly more than the amount given on the price tag for the product yesterday. It was a takeaway shopping and I realised it and asked for a correction but they refused it. I left everything I bought there and asked for a full refund instead. As a customer, I feel really disrespected. Why would I quietly be charged more than what the price tag says?

Location is wrong, it’s in the Tesco south of the river, not north.

Why is this costa marked in the middle of a field on Google maps??? Not a great start

This Costa is an absolute dump, and don't even get me started on the staff! Three of them just loitering behind the counter, completely oblivious to the filth they're surrounded by. Will I ever find a Costa that isn't a breeding ground for bacteria? Guess I'll just keep bathing my hands in sanitizer and scrubbing the tables myself with antibacterial wipes. What a joke.

Popped in for a quick drink and snack on a weekday afternoon and was pleased to find it very clean with lots of tables free to sit at. The member of staff serving me seemed to be new as they were quite unfamiliar with the menu and took a while to process the order and make the drink, but they were very friendly and I didn't mind waiting a little longer. Iced Whipped Latte was delicious, I also tried a slice of the Lemon and Blueberry Cake as I had a voucher but it was far too sweet for my tastes unfortunately. Heads up for anyone with noise sensitivities: the cafe is right next to the instore Timpson's and there was many loud noises and unpleasant grinding sounds.

Very rude staff, having customers to serve is definitely an inconvenience to the younsters working in here. No where near the welcoming experience of other Costas. Very disappointing and an experience not to be repeated.

Can’t go wrong with their hot chai latte! Wasn’t very busy for Saturday morning.

Staff seems nice, however they are interested in entertaining themselves rather to serve customers in right order. I think the trainee took my order... but forgot to pass it to the next step, to make a coffee... Not even apologies for me watching someone else's order was getting ready.

How do they accept me order on Uber take my money then close the store 😅

The new manager Celine is lovely. Best service in town!

Staff member said I couldn't eat or drink inside and would have to go and stand outside in the carpark, because not enough staff. She said it was the Area Manager's decision. First and last visit.

Store closed! Automatic 1 Star but only because I cant give 0 stars Tried to visit here the morning of Saturday 21st May 2022, feeling extra thirsty, super excited about going for a Costa Coffee on the way to Tesco. Guy from Timpson nearby shouts across, "store closed staff shortage. I get that sometimes these things happen but felt so disappointed for it to happen on this occasion so hence low star ratings!

Michalina and Alex need a pay rise!! They are two incredible workers who made my experience incredible today. My Google Pay wasn't working today as it somehow wiped my card details and I didn't have my wallet on me! I left Costa only to have Michalina come tell me to come and sit down and enjoy the coffee and sandwich on the house as the food had been made already. This made me feel so looked after and cared for given I was stranded with no money! Thank you both, much appreciated and something I won't ever forget. A small gesture but a big impact and it looks good for Costa to have such kind workers in its workforce!

The best Costa Coffee in town! I make a point of shopping at this Tesco so that I can have a coffee here. There's a wonderful friendly atmosphere as the team who work here make everyone feel personally welcome.

Quick service, amazing staff (Ana and Noelia) made my day better. Always smiling and with amazing customers service. They clean tables after every use due to covid-19 is ver important and not everyone is doing this. I will back to this Costa 100% sure.

Great coffee and very helpful staff

Usually quality. Served a purpose of providing a place to sit quietly whilst shopping. Bit expensive for what you get but what you would expect. Somewhere between good and ok. One good thing is that it never sinks of burned milk here. The one in Milton Tesco's always smells horrible.

They didn't wipe off the steam wand between milks, didn't offer chocolate sprinkles on my cappuccino. Not the best Costa ever, must be very lazy not to wipe steam wand, it's such a basic thing that should always be done..

Dirty cutlery from the back of a wooden draw, and forgot milk for my almost warm coffee, first and last time I visit.

Every week I'm here. The coffee is wonderful the food is fresh and tasty. The selection available is pretty good and the staff are lovely. In the 2 years this has been my regular, I have never had a bad experience. Not once. If I could give 6 stars I would.

You can have a cuppa after or before shopping at Tesco, or coffee if you prefer. The quality of drinks and service is consistent and the cafe area is well maintained. Because of the high ceiling, there are sometimes draughts and it is advisable to put a extra layer on on cold days.

Friendly customer service by the barista on the till, which was the highlight of the visit. Had to correct the barista on coffee when she was pouring the milk for my drink as it should have been soya (she had read the ticket incorrectly). Was charged for Columbian roast on both of our two drinks and instead received the default roast. Charged for syrup in the latte which was also left out. As an ex-employee of Costa I was dissapointed to see the level of service this low.

A Costa coffee shop what else can say

Average at best. I'm always delighted to meet people from basically anywhere in the world, that's an enriching experience - but is it too much to ask that people employed in a coffee shop understand words like 'coffee' and 'black', and don't need to clarify multiple times that your black coffee is neither a cappuccino not a latte, and that once this has been established no room needs to be left for milk? Service is slow, products formulaic and naff, staff non-comprehending.

Very good and quick service and the staff is friendly. The atmosphere is obviously not super cozy as it's attached to a big supermarket but there's lots of light and it's welcoming. Recommended for a quick or take away coffee!
