Costa Coffee in Epping Forest

Oct 2024. The old (useless) management team have gone, and boy, can you see the difference. The place has hugely improved. The team are friendlier and the place is much cleaner. Much better. Aug 2023 Store is a mess. Not clean at all. Dec 2022 They continue to be the best team. Lovely, friendly bunch with outstanding customer focus. Dec 2021 Still a great store to visit. Staff a lovely and friendly. If you want a nice, clean, fresh, quiet Costa branch to sit at, this is the one. Polite staff encountered at every visit. Shame the car park is a pain to enter/exit.

I did not get my delivery at all i want my refound back !

Quite disappointed been trying to have a good espresso but never got one. Seems that just pouring water into the cup and that's it and if you try to ask for another one the staff looks weird on you 🤔

Went to Costa in waltham abbey today which I do every week the service was rubbish had hardly any rolls don't listen to orders properly & take forever. Have noticed the women who used to work there that held it altogether has left now its gone so downhill. Need to get better staff that care about there customers 😒

1 item missing ginger loaf cake …. Fruit and oat biscuits sent instead of stem ginger I ordered. And only 2/3 of a cup of coffee

Surly staff, mostly foreign with a few English teenagers, who look surprised if you dare to make any special requests. Staff also seem a bit unprofessional, gossiping/messing around and helping themselves to (i.e. eating) pastries etc at the end of the day, in full sight of customers, and acting like you’ve ruined their fun if you go up to the counter to order. One of the two toilets is always ‘out of order’, and has been so for almost a year. It seems more like they can’t be bothered to maintain more than one toilet. I noticed one of the staff members was keeping her kid in the back office - is this right, or even allowed? The food selection is a bit…meh. In the middle of summer all they have is hot toasties, with no salads or a summer menu on offer. It doesn’t help that it is located in one the filthiest, nastiest retail parks in and around London, with non-paying customers constantly streaming in to use the toilet. I appreciate this is out of Costa’s control, but it doesn’t help nonetheless. There are better Costas, but given its location, it’s the best of a bad bunch.

This particular store has literally had no WiFi connection for over a year now . We just stopped meeting there because of it . Now we get a coffee at a local Italian bakery instead .

I'm absolutely amazed by and deeply appreciative of the staff here! I've got severe allergies and the staff were very understanding and made a great effort of checking everything I wanted to order for allergens, made a thorough clean of all surfaces/ machines/ containers and opened new packages/ bottles of everything to ensure there is no cross contamination. It is really refreshing to go somewhere to eat/ drink and not have to worry about my safety for once! I cannot say thank you enough and what this means to people like me 😀

Delivery was great, however there is no cream as requested on my iced caramel latte.

I did not receive my mac and cheese order but yet I paid for it.

I'm not really bothered since Costa actually closed way earlier (4pm) so even getting my food was a suprise. Thanks for the food.

This Costa has some pretty terrible staff, items straight up don't get delivered, and then it's your job to chase / call for a refund

Always missing items. If your lucky driver will go back for them. Most likely not, though.

I did not receive my whole order. My sandwhich was missing. The delivery driver said you didn’t give him one only my coffee

We ordered two drinks, a breakfast bap, and three pastries. All we got was the drinks and the baps. They forgot all three pastries. Assume we'll get a refund but it's not the point - pathetic. Won't be ordering again.

Second time this Costa have forgotten something of my order and the drink was spilled all over the bag it literally poured out!Just eat refused to refund AGAIN eventhough photographic evidence of spillage and contents in bag without the drink! Avoid this branch and avoid this delivery company

Delivery arrived with bag soaking wet. Took delivery in and contents of the bag went all over my carpet. The driver did not care and just drove off!! My carpet is completely ruined!!!

One cake had a stone (possibly a walnut shell in it) and that got stuck in my teeth. But it was also soggy which means it’s likely no longer fresh. The other cake my daughter was eating and I asked for a piece. It was also not fresh. I have pictures/videos of both cakes. It was just a waste of money.

A lovely bright Costa with great coffee and service.

When visiting today i used the toilet which was not clean , there was blood on the seat, I told a member of staff to which I was told we have been busy today only 2 of us . But one of the staff members had time to chat with boyfriend and make him a drink which he had to moved , so instead of chatting maybe clean the toilet as not hygienic

I never got it as the drink spilt in the drivers bag? And went all over everything I was giving the apple juice and that was it, the driver said he had contacted customer service but I haven’t heard anything and would like a re fund

Cannot leave anything but one star. Had a notification that the driver was at the door and although there is a receptionist, no food has been left. Absolute disgrace. No call from the driver! Nothing!! Very poor service!

From the time that the order was placed through to delivery, was approx 45 mins.

Everything was lovely thank you! The only thing is it would be useful to have more info on the coffee lid to say what each drink is, when you're ordering 5 drinks it can get confusing otherwise! E.g. 1 drink had SC on it which referred to sugar free caramel. But others had no writing on at all.

Perfect for business meetings and the customer service was on point!

Popped in this evening for a coffee with a friend. We were served by a lovely young lady by the name of Ruby. Service with a smile goes a long way. It would have been near the end of her shift and nothing was too much trouble. She's a credit to Costa!

My daughter treated me to a cuppa and a muffin here the other day and I enjoyed it very much its a nice roomy place and staff very quick and polite, will use again as I have four other children that can treat me to the same 😉

Probably the best Costa coffee experience I've ever had. Early evening. Very quiet and peaceful. 2 members of staff. 1 serving and 1 cleaning. Both very happy and friendly. Great tasting coffee, which isn't always the case in Costa. Clean mugs and spoons which also isn't always the case. Clean toilet which definitely isn't usually the case! Just perfect

I enjoyed the atmosphere very much. The place is always clean, and well kept. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I would recommend this store to anyone in need of a good cup of coffee.

Coffee was excellent but staff training is poor. Latest offer is a green bean with own cup scrapping 25p discount which noone knee about. Lady week or two it's been on and off whether I get a green bean. I am seriously thinking of going back to M&S's cheaper coffees

Nice large costa coffee. Tables nicely spaced out. Quite area at the back to work. Service was good. I asked for toast which was not ok display and was given the option of seeded toast which I took. Nice slices of bread with butter and little pot of jam. The only thing I would comment negatively on is that it took quite a long time to clear the dirty tables. Lastly, from where I was sitting I could hear customers place their order at the till. I was actually quite shocked at how a (small) number of people spoke to the staff. Quite rude without a please or a thank you! I don’t know how the staff hold their tounge sometimes!

I visited 5 days ago ordered 2 drinks and a lotus biscoff cheesecake, the barista forgot to give me the cheesecake and I also forgot ask him, I remembered when I was 1 hour away from there. They young short guy served me he was professional and worked by the standard Costa protocol which I appreciate as most Costa staff make frostino as they wish!? If I pop by again I wonder wether I can get my cheesecake?

Don’t even like coffee, iced caramel latte from here changed my life. Ruby and Karina are best baristas ever and v beautiful - left my drink outside while I used the loo for a bit too long 🥴 got accidentally taken away because the girls are too good at their jobs. They insisted on making me another one, warmed my heart 🥺 10/10 service and drinks, will be back ily

Hot chocolate was cold so not nice

Perfect time to grab a drink on the go, especially if you're lactose intolerant as Costa are doing free alternatives at the moment. The brasita was very friendly and handled my drink order perfectly, given we're all in q lockdown the store was kept very clean and the staff looked like they we're keeping up with current regulations. At the time the store was very quiet and my waiting time was next to nothing. :) One Americano with sugar free hazelnut syrup and hot coconut milk was the order for myself :)

Every time I go there I order a Chai Latte and every time it ends up tasting different. Sometimes, it's just too milky - too much Latte, not enough Chai : ) A little consistency to achieve an excellent result will be great. Thanks.

More spacious (and normally with longer opening hours when we're not in lockdown) than your average Costa in town. Serves very decent coffee unlike the brand's self-service machines e.g. in petrol stations, and a pretty good range of food. Excuse my rubbish photos, taken to hopefully show up-to-date opening hours.

Ok quite nice shop nightmare getting into carpark area thanks to McDonald's drive throu queue.

I do like Costa Coffee in Waltham Abbey, stuff are always nice and friendly, they're always serving a good coffee even in a rush hour, place is nice and clean. We made a tradition now, every Sunday me, my husband and our daughter come to Costa to spend some time together, eating delicious cake. And likely for us there's a bit bad connection there, so you can actually spend some time together without annoying notifications 😅 The only thing i always miss in all of the Costa cafes is more vegan options, especially some breakfasts, even some avo toast? why not?))

I am very upset how i got treated at one of your stores in Waltham abbey!When i enter the store with my partner i was told to put mask on which I respect that and i sat down while my parter gets the drinks. However other customers walked in and they got served WITHOUT masks on!this isnt fair !!As we got our coffees the lady manager comes to our table asking if i done the Track&Trace. And i told her i did. She was so close to me and telling me you havent done it. I told her to keep the 2meter distance because your not following the rules yourself and still she was close to my table and harassing me and my partner for not doing track&trace. I was politely and calmy telling her “i have done it” she still wont go away from my table. And another colleague came to the table aswell and they was both shouting and telling me “i didnt do it. I told her give me the refund i want to leave as i came to enjoy my coffee and you not letting me. She wouldnt give me the refund but she said to give me “take -away cup”? It is my right as a customer to get my refund. As a loyal customer i would like this to be sorted and that staff attitude is disgusting. Please sort this out.

It is such a lovely place to relax, beautiful interior, very nice staff. Both kids enjoyed hot chocolate and a slice of cake, really impressed with Costa Waltham Abbey.

Lovely cafe with a great choice of food and drinks. Clean and safe. Definitely will go back here.
