Came in at 5pm on a Thursday to be told we had to sit downstairs only, as they had closed upstairs. All the cake were off display. There was no where to sit and had to wait then said we could not have takeaway cups and takeaway sandwich’s bags for our food to sit. They are open until 9pm! Not impressed. Bad customer service for a city centre costa.

It is a very nice shop to hang out or just to calm down. I like the Atmosphere. Every time I'm stepping in I always get a nice feeling and feel like home. BUT the prices are too high. It is not acceptable to charge 5 pounds for a medium hot chocolate. Horrendous.

Morning wait is 6mins for a coffee and there is barely no queue.

Bad. Doesn't listen to what you order. Asking for one thing gets something else and just walks away when you try to explain. Steer away. About getting rid of as many trades as possible in the shortest possible time. Coffee latte was boiled and way too hot. The biscuit had little taste.

Relaxing atmosphere at off-peak times, right in the city center, excellent for a break, breakfast, brunch while from the windows you can observe the great movement of the city. Average quality of cappuccinos and coffees (for England), wide variety of choice between desserts, croissants, cakes and savory dishes.

Very disappointed, called into this Costa while visiting town. I use Costa alot and never seem to have a problem. This one was very busy and I decided to use the self service tills thinking would speed up the process. How wrong could I be, it looked quicker and easier to ordered at the counter as they seem to be getting served their orders straight away. After waiting 15 mins yes 15 mins I decided to ask how long my order was going to be and was told by the confused looking staff members oh it's this one on the counter. Very disorganised no one seemed to be in charged shouting orders out etc. I get it was busy but think if was more organised might of run better My advice if you visit this Costa is not to use the self service tills

I have been a regular customer to this place for the last 2.5 years. I think it is probably the best cafe in town for studying and working. The coffee is great and the staff are wonderful. However, every winter the place gets busy and super humid. The ventilation is always switched off and the windows are full of condensation. This is extremely unhealthy. The place is full of ACs and they should be switched on to ventilation function. The manager of this branch should take prompt action as this increased humidity increases the risk for respiratory infections and it has been always the same issue over the past 3 years.

Horrendous wait, never waited so long in a costa, can’t seem to meet demand like other branches.

Went to use the toilets before ordering after being out in Liverpool all day. Got to the toilets which were in a mess with lots of rubbish over the floors but as my partner went to go in to the toilet a staff member said that he would remove the rubbish first for her but then went in to the toilets, closed the door and locked it. After a couple minutes we gave up and left. You missed out on selling 4 drinks thanks to that member of staff

Pricey but definitely worth it, everything was tasty & coffee and chaii latte was 10/10 😍

I had a great time dining in at this place, which it has absolutely nothing to compare much less envy to Starbucks. I visited Costa Coffee each morning during my stay in Liverpool. The coffee shop is conveniently close to my hotel, the place as a public establishment was always clean, the prices are affordable, customer service was always courteous and helpful.

Loved new layout and ordering system. Staff area seems to be more spacious and happy for that. You only have to order yourself and you can collect when ready. Ground floor less spacious than upper floor and We spent around £3-£6 Hope the company is looking after the staff in the way they are thinking about the customers

Stopped by on a rainy evening to kill some time. The Staff were very friendly! But the drinks were average and the store was filthy. Table I sat at had a tray and cups on it with a receipt with a time 4 hours earlier than I arrived. All the tables had cups and trays on them but the place only had at most 15 people in at the time so it wasn't busy. Toilets were gross and no hot water. Floor was sticky and covered in litter.

Excellent Costa coffee, modern, clean with enthusiastic manager (from Surrey) and great team. We had breakfast both in and had takeout. Nice friendly welcome whether eating in or takeaway. 5* other coffee shops close by could learn from this Manager & Costa. Keep it up..

Zero star I was gonna order bakery but when i saw that i did cancel And even i ordered a extra hot latte i did receive it without foam and it wasn’t extra hot. Horrible experience.

A lively city centre Costa Coffee that offers table service, by the help of QR codes that you can scan on each table. There are also a few small booths where you can work in more privacy.

Lack of service - my partner went in with crutches and waited a full 30mins, standing in a queue, for 1 drink. When I went to meet him he had only just been offered to sit down whilst someone made the order and brought it across. It was then another 20mins before his Coffee came across... Like seriously how long is enough. It's gone down hill in service and best off going the docks if you're desperate for a Costa as it's quicker to walk there and back than it is to get served here!

Drink was warm but food was cold and cake sadly crushed. :( Good drink tho

We had 2 coffee late and really teast very bad i would never go over there again even it is free. We were drinking over warm smie skimmed milk no coffee at all. BAD experience.

Appalling service. Waited nearly 15 minutes for 2 iced drinks. Husband thought I'd been kidnapped. No apologies for the wait, 2 or 3 staff talking when they should've been serving and no regard whatsoever for the other customers patiently waiting. Never again.

Came out to chat to some friends. Lovely staff. Was there for 3 hours (chatting) and there was no rush.

I visited this newly refurbished costa 26/6/24, a very polite & cheerful young man offered to help me & many others to use the new digital screen ordering method, most ppl queued at the counter instead,during the long wait myself & others saw the disgusting habit of the blonde haired lady assistant behind the counter wth hair tied up on top of her head SCRATCHING the back of her head !!! all 4 fingers of her right hand SCRATCHING!!! ugh then handling ppls hot plated food to give out to them !!! & handling all things behind the counter !!! unbelievable in this day & age!!! how often did she do that on her shift!!! luckily i was not served by her or i would have refused & left at once, tables AND chairs were DIRTY...i didn't finish my hot choc it made me feel sick... NOT a good costa shop visit but a memorable LAST VISIT there for me !!! UGH !!!

Very nice atmosphere. The coffee is great.

Good location but the service and selection of items is terrible. We decided to stop here for a drink as it’s a prime location. When scanning the loyalty card on the app it said we had a free cookie except they had none in stock. I looked to purchase a different desert but the selection was lacking, there were empty trays everywhere. It’s only 1:30 so it’s terrible they’ve ran out of so much already. So we just ordered our drinks. We were never once offered a receipt. When our drinks came they were just placed down with the server mumbling what they were as they were walking away. I had to check it was my order and I said to another server how do I get my receipt as I’ve never been asked if I want one. The server looked stunned and asked do I really need a receipt? No I’ve just randomly asked for one. I said for starters you can’t use the toilet without one (they have codes on the bottom). The server came over with someone else’s receipt, ripped the top off and went there’s the code. I asked for a receipt not just the code.

I have never has such excellent service and support anywhere as I recieved here today. My daughter has allergies which I explained to a lovely friendly staff member. I didn't catch her name but she had a liverpool accent and wore glasses. She cleaned all equipment and our table before we sat down. She explained and checked everything. I'd definitely recommend and return here.

The store at Liverpool One was clean, with attentive and caring staff, I asked if they could csrry my tray to the table and they were more than willing to do that.

Avenue is great. However, sometimes service isn't. I have been to this place maybe 5-6 times the last 2 months and I always ordered the same drink. However, each time I got a different drink. Likewise, sometimes (2 times as far as I can recall) I had to order the same drink twice. After a few minutes the barista asked me what I was waiting for and prepared the drink for me. BTW why don't you ask for names and when the drink is ready you shout the name? That way you would avoid the queue under the stairs. Management should improve training and procedures.

A large modern coffee shop close to the centre of Liverpool and the main shopping centre. Set on two floors with a stupidly located central stairway with a narrow gap between the stairs and the till area, resulting in customers squeezing past others waiting at the till area - really poor design. Visited 22nd April 2024. Four members of staff, and despite being such a large coffee shop there weren't any tables strewn with dead trays, cups or plates. Two members of staff were serving and making the drinks, a third was working hard keeping on top the cleaning and clearing of the tables and a fourth was in the small kitchen area. They seemed to be keeping on top of things, working well. It was such a shame that the staff, who were busy, lost all of their tips, thanks to a preying person, who looked dishevelled, unkempt and dirty who took the opportunity whilst the staff were busy to delve both hands into the tip bowl, removing all the contents whilst declaring "I've got nothing"...witnessed not by myself but by several other customers. Apparently this is a regular occurrence, happening most days and sometimes as many as three or four times a day. Moments later two other men entered the store and tried to steal panninis from the display fridge; deterred on this occasion by another customer. Such a shame as the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The drinks were prepared promptly. A well run coffee shop that has plenty of additional seating on the first floor, with several toilets on each floor. It's such a shame that the staff have to put up with such behaviour and appear to have accepted it as the norm. Level 9 Google reviewer; 1,000 plus reviews, 1.5 million views and over 12,000 photos with over 45 million views and still going strong 💪. I love getting my coffee fix from Costa, the service was speedy. I came early in the morning it was quiet and very spacious upstair if you want to do work. If you need the toilet, use the code thats provided on the bottom of your receipt.

Do yourself a favour and walk away. You can find a coffee shop at any corner within 1 mile, and this includes other Cost shops too (if you're really set on this brand). I usually write reviews after visiting multiple times. However, this place made me change this rule since I really wish not going there again. The setting area is pretty nice - spacious, good natural light, and as tidy as possible (though my standards of cleanliness reduced after reading the reviews). Also, the coffee is nice, but that is mainly why someone will go there. I really doubt there are people going there for the service. And to tell you, in brief, I believe that the reason is because there is a poor customer experience (and this is far from what Costa claims as a business, but then again this might be a franchise poorly looked after). Take my experience, I went there on a Saturday. Surprisingly, there was no queue for ordering - and I still waited at the counter (well fine, I understand you're busy, but the irony is that the cashier/barista left as I approached without saying a word). Then, I asked for an Americano only for my surprise to be asked if I want milk. Of course, I replied "No" (cause that will be a cappuccino or latte) with a feeling of indignation (thing that I believe was resented since the cashier felt to share it with the rest of the team). Now, I actually took a step forward and searched Americano with Milk which turns out to be called Americano Misto. Nevertheless, I would have appreciated if this was said to me while placing my order (it would have made a difference to my experience). However, now I doubt how well the cashier/barista is trained. Anyhow, I hope they will improve for future clients.

Watched a man steal two sets of sandwiches told staff they cba with what I said . The man was smartly dressed so he wasn't homeless

It remains among my favorite places in Liverpool, for a breakfast or a break... I don't give it 4 stars 🌟, because they don't have that quality of Italian pastry shops with bars.

Very busy but organised, quick and friendly staff

Cappuccinos were good and the toastie too. A bit pricey but quality and sizes make up for it. The lesser stars aren't because the friendly staff forgot to put/ask if we wanted chocolate on our cappuccinos or for the long queue to order that the staff managed to relieve order timings, at a certain point, asking extra staff to support at the bar (from 2 to 5), but for the unclean and overall untidiness feel of the branch from bottom to top with very dirty toilet. Our table was filthy and we had a ask a friendly member of staff to clean before sitting. WiFi wasn't working.

Came in with a friend on Boxing Day, was served by Caitlin (blonde girl) who served every single person with the biggest smile despite the massive queue! Asked every single person how they were too and wished them a lovely evening :)

Lovely location but thats were the good ends. Staff are rude and make you feel like you're asking them a massive favour when you order. Salted Caramel frappe was horrible and they left out key ingredients that go in it eg caramel pieces and whipped cream will stick to the Albert Dock location in future

This branch can get incredibly busy and the staff do their very best to keep it all going . Hard working g and cheerful . At busy periods tables don’t always get cleared but then it’s because they are just very busy !

Sat waiting for my watermelon and mint cooler which the staff forgot about then to my horror the staff member put a shot of watermelon cordial then topped it up with cold water from the tap. For £4 that's a disgrace! I'll stick to Cafe Nero in future.

Nice morning to dine in after getting off the bus. Before visiting museums and shopping.

I had loads of bags with me as I am heading to the train station. I ordered and asked if there was a toilet. The girl says yes upstairs and down. I arrive upstairs and the toilet is closed. I then struggle down the stairs with the bags again. Downstairs there is one toilet and a line of 4 other people waiting. The only thing I needed was wifi so I could send a message. I don't have roaming as I am visiting from overseas. Apparently they don't have wifi either and haven't for some months according to the boy who works here. Urgh what a place.

Además después de unas risas entre el que nos cobra y el lo prepara (chico joven , alto y rubio), me temo que voy a pasar la noche en vela..mi capuchino medio descafeinado no es descafeinado . Mala atención a falta de una hora del cierre!

Lovely coffee, unfortunately can't say the same about one member of staff (DALILA) who after hearing my order from a colleague ( I have to have alternative milk) looked absolutely disgusted, making me feel so embarrassed and my friends felt it too. Then this employee gave such horrible looks at so many more customers orders behind me. if I hadn't of paid I would of left straight away...

There are nice working space upstairs. They close upstairs early so don't recommend to come evening but good to focus on your work or study in the personal space here.

I visited at 8am, it is pretty quiet at this time. I had a peaceful breakfast of a latte and an almond croissant. Delicious. Accessible coffee shop, with an access loo. You do need the code for it though which they pop on your receipt if you need help just ask, they are very friendly.

If you out and you are having a hard time finding a nice and cozy place,this might be what are you looking for.

Google "flux pavilion" The barista requires some customer service training, my girlfriend went to take a chocolate that came with her drink, she proceeds tell her no and make a fool out of her for no clear reason. She proceeds to patronisingly tell us to have a lovely day, ironically it must be better than hers considering she works in a Costa , so yeah we will have a lovely day.

Very smelly drainage smell as soon as we walked in, the place was mostly empty with plenty of staff but almost all the tables were dirty with uncleared pots. The staff just keep chatting amongst themselves without focusing on their jobs, it’s as if nobody was in charge of the place, the guy making our drinks missed off the chocolate on our cappuccino and forgot the pouring cream for the Americano, he forgot the marshmallows for my son’s hot chocolate All wich We paid for, I had to ask for it. The downstairs toilet was out of order again, it’s always like this with this branch, the management obviously doesn’t care. It’s a shame because I like this brand but this place should be closed down to save their reputation.
