Ordered a few drinks, not busy. Barista on till was friendly. I specifically asked for half the chocolate in a hot chocolate (to make it less rich) and the team on bar seemed to think there was an invisible sound proof wall between them and customers because when one barista asked about it the other said ‘it doesn’t matter, nobody cares’. I piped up asking them to make it as requested and clearly they realised they’d been heard. They were not cleaning jugs between drinks, just topping up more milk and reheating milk endlessly. They also still didn’t get the order right woth the other drinks. Overall a bad experience both customer service wise and quality of product.

I come here quite alot with my mum. We always grab a coffee and bit of cake after walking round the shops. The staff are fab! Hats off to them as the shop is always busy and they always seem rushed off their feet but always greet you with a warm welcome and a smile.

Wasnt offered a receipt. Teller was distracted by her kid running round. Perhaps it wasnt even rung up as no order slip was generated either. Took a while and second time I went up the new girl hadn't gotten a paper slip saying what my order was and so hadnt started. She was just told it was a chai latte and so began making a regular, when I ordered a large, had to point out the large cup to her. Used full fat milk not skinny, but I didn't want to upset her on her first day again so I said nothing this time. She was new, obviously, and asked how to make it and was snapped at by teller saying "its just milk and syrup, literally" . The girl didnt know how much syrup, and tried to add a coffee shot and I had to stop her. My chai latte was the cold side of luke warm and only tasted of milk, hardly any chai flavour at all. I went up and asked if the teller could maybe make it this time but she was chatting to her son as she worked, and a queue had formed. She snapped she would get to it when she had dealt with the crowd. All of whom came in after me. After waiting a while I went back up and a chai latte was sitting behind counter, ignored, and a milk pot was boiling over. I asked if it was mine and was told its coming next. I said maybe make mine before the whole queue as I was here first while shop was empty and was snapped at by the teller who said she had all these people to serve. She then made a fuss of her mum and her son as she gave them their iced drinks to go. She then went back to the queue but I didnt sit down this time. So she went over to the the chai latte that had been sitting all this time (it was the one I had handed back earlier, they just poured a bit out of the top then forgot about it or think I hadnt been watching) and topped it up with hot milk. It was weaker and colder than the first one. The teller had ignored my request that she make my drink this time (so the trainee might learn too) and said again she had lots of drinks to make first. I said I would take a refund and she told me she would get to me with that when she finished with the queue. I said my car was parked and meter ticking I would have to come back for a refund. I felt bad for the trainee because she needed help but I've had chai latte from that teller before and she knows how to make it and wasn't showing the trainee. When I got back to my car i remembered no receipt or order slip had been generated so I had no way to get a refund later. I think she might have accidentally rung up the order her kid was shouting that he and his gran wanted to take away when they left, but my change was right so I could be wrong on that. Time was 1020hrs at Musselburgh Costa. I got a bank text as I ordered. I arrived with no one in queue and left and sat down in my car outside and began writing this at 1050hrs, with no drink, no refund and choice of leaving or being made to wait for a quiet spell. £4.15 out of pocket and had to move my car and come back for other messages too. So a 1.5hr car parking message run became twice that.

It's a pity that you can't still go to Costa for coffee with your pet, fortunately, other cafes are pet-friendly.

Waiting over half an hour for 2 frappes they made them incorrectly (I've seen it done by staff from straition) they even forgot that I even ordered only 2 members of staff and one customer came to help clean tables a joke of a shop just go to Starbucks or make it yourself bloody joke

The smell of the place is literally Khayas, and the second branch I enter is Costa's, and its smell is unbearable (bathroom).

It was very. busy & obviously very popular.Stsff very friendly ,kept tables clear.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, lemon and raspberry cake was absolutely lovely worth the money. The tables and Chairs were clean.

1 person serving, v long que. No management. Place ALWAYS smells bad. It's had a recent refurbishment but still looks and feels grotty.

Very quick ,clean ,fair pricing

Manky. Overflowing bucket. Floor was covered in crumbs. No where to sit as i dont sit at manky tables with folks germ laden used cups plates and tables. Thats right: no hygene on tabletops. This was a quiet day. 2 staff only there to cash in and take orders were blind to mess and overflowing dispense bucket. For reasons ( perhaps stench) they had door open which wont help as the smke coming from the outside table flows in.

Cashier handles all the cash and then put her dirty hands inside all the coffee caps. No thank you ! Never again

Worst Costa I have ever been in. Dirty place, and I saw one member of staff wipe the table off with her hand ready for the next customers. Would definitely not use this place again

As a regular customer I was very disappointed today. Sat outside, but had to move tables as there was dog poo under both the table and chair. Ashtrays still soaking wet.

About 15 mins to get served, they had then forgotten the order and needed reminded, lot of dirty tables and the track and trace numbers on tables were mostly missing. So much worse than last time here and wont be back.

Costa coffee musselburgh an absolute joke waited over 10minutes for them to serve 2 people order wss wrong and when informed I was spoken to in a disgusting manner. Would have been quicker going to handpick the beans in Columbia myself

Order had to be returned as drink was not made to order ,then when remade the drink it was cold,ended up leaving my drink as did My freind wasn't happy at all , complete waste of money as we had bought a bite to eat with our drinks but as they had been returned and then served Luke warm after correction of order we didn't even eat all our snacks as they were now cold ,poor service staff weren't freindly and was kept waiting for 5 minute's (even though only 1 person in front of me who had already been served) before being served 1 staff was making coffee and the girl was busy writing something n Told me to hang on for couple of minutes , I'm a regular of Costa coffee and i get first class service all the time from st Andrews square , this has got to be my worst experience ever with Costa ,in my opinion it gives Very poor representation of your company

Staff insisted on using QR code for track & trace before being served.This is not appropriate for customers with physical disabilities & learning disabilities who dont have a mobile phone or the ability to work the QR system. A pen & paper would be sufficient but this is not in line with their policy?? This caused a lot of embarrassment. DISCRIMINATION springs to mind.

Amazing food and drink but the customer service is nearly always an issue had a drink made wrong and treated like it was our fault. There’s a regular worker who holds up the queue and asks very unprofessional in front of customers

Service wasn't great. Serving staff more interested in track and trace and were panicking. Comllete chaos. Told to wait outside for table while other people in queue were served and getting tables. Wont be back. My hot chocolate was half full and tasteless. Panini was on cold side.

Baristas act a bit like customers are occupational hazards. Not indicative of Costa but the guys who serve us badly need a customer service course because it clearly does not come naturally. May be just a bad day. Clearly efficiently work hard but surely and automatic. There's other mom & pop coffee shops in Mussleburgh with more invested and at stake.

Not cheap, but good quality fare.

Coffee always good, Carrot cake delicious. Only gripe was every table was full of dishes, the person who was supposed to be clearing them was standing talking to the person serving the drinks. There's no efficiency at at all, all very lade back.

Never had to complain about staff because they are always nice but this young guy just was not onterested I asked for a saugge roll he said in a gruf voice there over there went over not a sign he eventually come over because I was holding up the que thats it. got my Cuppùchino and the what ever it was found out it was a vegan thing Will not go back to that Costa I have never had to complain before they are always helpful and polite but this guy must have been thrown up without manners and finesse.

Here ar 2pm on a tuesday and really disappointed. Staff mumble rather than speak so I struggled to hear or understand. They made me the wrong coffee and even the corrected order was executed poorly with really badly steamed milk. 2 inches of foam and no actual textured milk on a latte isnt ideal.. I ordered lemon drizzle cake which was stale. There were no clean tables, plenty of free tables but they all had used cups and plates on them. Such a shame as I was looking forward to the treat of a nice coffee and piece of cake.

It has coffee but wetherspoons style toilets which are out the back, up a long flight of stairs and round a corner.

Costa Musselburgh used to be the best store in Edinburgh but sadly over the last 6 months it has declined to such an extent it is unrecognisable. Poor quality coffee, slow and unfriendly service. Cleanliness is shocking. The new manager is a disgrace, no customer service at all. Very rude to the regulars. I queued for over 15 mins to get served then waited 14 minutes for my 2 drinks. Total disgrace, won't be back until the manager is replaced

Just been to Musselburgh Costa & very disappointed today -customer in front decided to enquire about re-useable cups etc which was fine but it meant that while 1 server told them they had a specific cup & was great etc & demonstrated a few models the other server stood & watched the discussion while 6 other customers waited to be served!!! Surely 1 server could have dealt with 1st customer & other could have started to serve queue??- i had to leave as couldn't listen anymore to the ins & outs of why a cup was being purchased etc & also time was of the essence passing by so my £15.00 order was not placed & as i left i heard a few other customers rather disgruntled too!!

Much improved with the new decor was badly in need of a makeover and they still do lovely coffee. Staff are fab as well.

We have been here a couple of times in the afternoon and found it to be very short staffed, only one person service, long queue, long waiting times, would suggest getting more staff which in turn will alleviate staff and customer stress

I stopped going here as they didn't have any gingerbread syrup, and my favourite drink is Gingerbread latte. But I went today and they had it. Yahoo I will be visiting more often. Staff are lovely and the cafe has been upgraded.

Great when tour in the mood for a posh coffee, parking can be an issue as the high street is very busy with so many retail units.

Asked by barista x3 what the order was. Was only 2 coffees!! Cakes not fresh. Didn't enjoy today's visit.

Visited the Musselburgh shop and won't be back . Tables were cluttered with empty crockery and the noise was horrendous.

As always, good coffee & friendly staff but shop DIRTY dirty dirty. This branch needs refitting.

Brilliant staff. Great chatter. Always made to feel welcome and know what my usual is, they know what the regulars like and that to me is the best customer service ever - knowing your customers.

excellent customer service, the ambience was let down with lots of unclear tables scattered with take away cups, due to technical fault with the dish washer, looked a bit McDonald, but the 2 guys serving were very friendly and pleasant
