Costa coffee in County Durham

It's OK. Tills were down so had to use self service but service was fine. Coffee very nice as usual.

It’s a nice shop. There is more room upstairs if you want a quiet place.

As a regular customer at Costa Coffee, I found that this branch was in need of some TLC. The paint work was drab and needed refreshing. Windows were dirty. and the whole experience was not up to Costa Coffees' usual high standards, I am not being over critical of this branch as regular readers of my reviews of Costa Coffee shops around the country are always of a high standard, so as a loyal customer it's just a polite heads up to say come on guys this one just needs that extra bit to level up to your normal high standards, I have faith that you will and I'll be checking as my partner works round the corner from the shop 😀

I am a regular customer at Costa Coffee whenever I am out and about, but this is one of the lesser Costa Coffee shops, the interior was shabby and tired inside, paint work required attention, interior seats grubby, floor unclean, the whole appearance was not up to Costa Coffees usual high standards.

Delivery drivers just need to get better at knowing Selby area in general,theres only so many ways you can say iam at the Railway Crossing with the railway barriers and iam in the signal box at the side that operates them.Theres not lots of Railway Crossings in Selby theres mine off Barlby Road at the back of BOCM/FARMERS and theres a railway crossing down Doncaster Road but if you dont even know where a couple of Railway Crossings with flashing lights and barriers are in Selby you may struggle.

Costa, nice staff. Very samey same same as others.

I had to reorder this drink for my daughter as it was forgotten off the first order. It only gave the option for a refund so I had to pay for delivery twice!!! talk about money grabbing.

Staff are very friendly and personable. This store needs a face-lift. It is quite dull and dingy. If there was more competition in Selby, this coffee shop would suffer.

I put the wrong address by accident I messaged the delivery driver and he saw the message but he still went to the other address and refused to bring it to the right address or cancel it

Great hot choc this time of year, service is good and nice atmosphere. Food can be exposed and flies get at it which put me off.

Went in yesterday to get a cappuccino at 5.40pm to be told by a very horrible lady that they were closed even though on the door it clearly said 6pm. They were obviously bored with no customers and wanted to leave work early!! Top it all off there was customers sat in there anyway so they could’ve easily served me!

Great mainstream coffee shop with a very local feel. Good coffee, great teacakes, decent range of fancies. Service with a smile. Prices as you would expect. Worth a visit.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Was able to get an oakmilk coffee as I am milk intolerant. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is because of the wait we had to give our order.

I dropped in for a large cappuccino and porridge (milk & honey) Adam was on duty this morning and knew most of the customers and their orders and took special care to make sure everything was as the customers expected. Adam made my early morning breakfast stop a relaxing experience and made certain to ask whether I required my porridge made with water or milk. Thank you so much for employing such caring baristas ☺️🙏🪷🙏 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 Borderline 11

Staff are always finding a way to work. it is always clean and the staff are great at communicating. the drinks are great and the staff are always hard working.

I visited the drive through this afternoon and wanted to order a frappe to be told they couldn’t make any. Whilst waiting for a hot coffee I over heard staff bad mouthing other customers, service was slow, in the toilet the toilet roll wasn’t in the holder, there was no soap, imagine my horror when I saw a member of staff using the same toilets and knowing there was no soap and then watched them deal with a customer straight afterwards. I over heard some of the staff using the c you next Tuesday swear word. Very unhappy with this experience and won’t be going back, I’ll travel to Starbucks instead next time!

Friendly staff good coffee but very few cakes left to choose from when we went in at 3pm on a Saturday afternoon

Very busy site, great coffee and friendly service ques a little long at busy times.

Obviously great selection of coffees, also teas, iced drinks, soft drinks , juices and water. Food is mainly sandwiches and paninis but great selection, toast with jams, marmalades and marmite. Plenty of cakes, pastries and biscuits to accompany your drinks, have inside or takeaway options. Toilet on ground floor wheelchair friendly, second toilet upstairs with extra seating and a more quieter space. Downstairs choice of armchair settee and dining chair seating. Short wait for service as gets busy at certain times but use the costa app and order ahead and pick up on arrival. Staff friendly. Alternative oat, soya, plant based "milks" for anyone with allergy or vegan vegetarian.

Large que & only one person serving(Olivia) I had been waiting 15 minutes another member of staff (Adam).. Came out and served the lady before me then walked off even though there was a que! I only wanted 2 take out coffees. I won't be returning. Poor service & expensive.. Poor customer service!!

Ordered two lattes with extra shot. One of us got a fresh shot the other got the remnants of 3 cold cups of coffee shots . First taste was awful, funny tasting milk and no taste of coffee! All the empty tables were filthy. £7.70? wasted. Will not be returning.

As a regular at selby costa I always enjoy my coconut hot chocolate today the froth got alittle out of hand but as always the manger was there to sort it out. It's always nice to come in and the lovely girls know our regular order it makes us feel very welcome😍

In my opinion, this is one of the better Costas that I've been in. A good central location in Selby. Tables cleared regularly.

Nice coffee as always and had the only vegan cake/sweet item I could see, but very disappointed at the lack of any vegan sandwich/lunch options (perhaps just one salad) compared to what I've seen before in other Costa stores.

Upstairs was more quiet so I could work using the Costa WiFi. The staff are friendly, generally it's a nice environment.

I had a coffee and a mince pie. The mince pie Costa lot, I'll have to start saving now if I want to buy another one next year.

My wife and I visited their Selby outlet on Friday last using a gift voucher. My Mocha was the worst that I'd had anywhere and my wife was not impressed with her Americano. The toasted sandwiches were overcooked. I don't think I'll.ever go to the Selby outlet ever again, not even for a free drink

On two occasions my Flat white coffee was warm, should have been hot, clearly not enough steam applied to the milk before pouring, because of this, on subsequent visits I have ordered americano's instead.

Always reliable for a good coffee.. would have been nice to have staff check tables to clean between customers as had to clear snd clean my table before able to use it. And toilet downstairs was very bad, had my grandson for the day and had to wipe it all clean before I could let him use it, as previous person had obviously no direction so it was wet all over the seat snd around the basin, so it would be good to regularly check. Not blaming the staff as I know they can be busy, but management should have enough staff to designate time to clean areas.

I always enjoy Costa. Its the best in my view. X

Same usual Costa items, ideally located in central spot. Be prepared for a wait though, the service can be slow at times.

Costa coffee, Costa bomb more like lol... standard Costa coffee with drink in or take out option & outdoor seating. If your a fan of Costa Coffee then its definitely a stop for you 😉 ☕

Very good service, clean and tidy

Decent Costa located just off the main high street, upstairs seating allows for a quieter experience. Coffee and cakes are usually up to the Costa standard and so it's a good spot for a break or a chance to have a catch up

Friendly Staff but as with all Costas the Coffees are way too Expensive !

Late coffee (4.30pm). Staff great and so was coffee .... last to leave at closing time.

Staff helpful and pleasant but the environment is not great. Social distancing in place but tables needed cleaning down possibly not enough staff on to cope. Coffee quality good and usual range of food.

I won't ever return after today; I am sick of asking for hot drinks made with Almond milk, only to be served cows milk with Almond flavouring put in: is it the staff or is it the overarching company who obviously do not believe customers when they say they have an allergy? I have had to go dairy free due to IBS and other similar issues; thank you Costa Selby for making me poorly again.

Has its busy moments like all Costa coffee houses, but keen staff and pleasant to customers. Kept tidy, and clearing tables generally done fairly regularly. Getting a seat can be awkward if you're on your own, there's no guarantee you've got one, even if you've got your drink. But this issue is the same in many places. Costa, please put some thought into this, thank you

Nice and quiet upstairs for a change!

Sat upstairs and we're bothered by lots of wasps. Pest control had been in that morning but they were still there.

Does the job. Pretty empty on a morning so ideal for me to work. Wouldn't have the balcony on the top floor though because coffee machines/blenders in the UK are crazy loud. Coffee generally pretty weak in this country but the flat white is nice.
