Costa in Braintree

I think Costa Witham makes a truly fantastic dry cappuccino! I looked over at the counter and mentioned to my husband which lady had made my lovely coffee and just as I was just spooning out the last drops the member of staff came over and said was your coffee ok? How lovely that someone would ask, I explained I was scooping out the last drops as it was sooo delicious :) I think the staff should be given a treat for good service!

Place is dirty & staff appear to have no pride in service. Would not try again even though I am a Costa fan usually

Got served by a lovely young lady called lily with a cute bow and clips in her hair she was so friendly and chatty made my morning

The staff are truly lovely here. Through difficult times they have always smiled and taken the time to make you feel welcome with a few words. The place is kept nice and clean. I am not surprised this Costa is well visited. The outside space is nice to sit in on a sunny day. The coffee of course is delicious!

I was looking forward to a treat of a cappuccino today. I like and ask for a dry cappuccino. But despite sending it back once, the second cup was no better. It was a weak coffee with a small bit of froth on top. I left it after just a sip. It was a waste of money and I’ve had better cappuccinos in our local cafe, The Tearoom.

I struggled to find anywhere to eat in Witham, so went in Costa for a cup of tea and something edible. It seemed badly organised, with a very very long queue - and this was before the latest lockdown - stretching a long way outside. Said queue was very slow moving, so we waited a long time outside in the cold. I eventually got some tea, but despite quite a wide selection of sandwiches and other foods, Costa still don't bother to sell anything gluten-free except the usual chocolate brownies and flapjacks. So my lunch was a bag of crisps. And nobody was clearing tables, which meant some were left covered in the detritus left by previous customers while I was there. Not good in the present climate.

Great little costa this one is. The staff are very and try to be really quick but it is a very busy coffee shop one the less I have never been disappointed. Good choice of food and obviously the coffee is good. All I would say is if wait

It may be 3pm on the Saturday before Christmas but as ever this Costa was dirty & unwelcoming. We walked in - there was no queue (first time ever) - to find 3 staff behind the counter. One had her back to us, the 2nd was doing something with the cash tray & the 3rd walked round to the front of the counter to top up crisps etc. Not one of them greeted us or even acknowledged our presence. A 4th girl appeared from nowhere, drinking from a straw & the girl with the cash tray told her to serve us which she did. She was very pleasant & soon prepared our drinks. It wasn't busy so I easily found a seat but had to clear the table first & brush crumbs off the worn leather sofa. We were surrounded by litter on the floor & other tables (not clearly shown in the photos). My tea was ok but served from a tea stained pot & not terribly hot. Don't get me started on the loos - filthy! Why is it that this is virtually the same situation at every Costa we go to (I would never choose to go to a Costa but my husband loves the latte). Costa seem to think they can charge extortionate amounts for coffee because people love it & get away with under-staffing leading to bad customer service & filthy premises. Get you act together Costa or I will be voting with my feet.

Enjoyed a very refreshing iced fruit smoothie. Service was very good and staff are friendly. Drinks were prepared quickly and reasonable price, plus my next one's free with the loyalty card! Always happy to pop in here, does get busy at lunch time but so do most places.

Popped in for lunch whilst shopping. As always with Costa food and drink were consistent. It us what you would expect from a coffee chain.

Ever heard of lunchtime? It’s when people go and grab a sandwich! Well thanks to your awful service my daughter and I were restricted to a 15 minute lunch break today. When we walked in, there was a member of staff stacking the counter area when there was a queue almost to the door. This left just one person serving. Honestly I ask you, do any of these managers really understand what it takes to manage an operation. Well, thanks but no thanks!

Popped in for a quick on Sunday. As you would expect with Costa the drinks were perfect. The girl who served us was very friendly and efficient.

Good quality of drinks served here as some costas can be a hit and miss my flat white was made perfectly just the way it should also no complaints from my sister about her latte . This is lovely and clean inside . Some costas you go to the tables are very dirty

You can always get a decent coffee And the snacks are a little too tempting I go to this Costa regularly. And the friendly staff now know my order It's nice to sit outside and enjoy my coffee and people watch

Not much you can say about this Costa. If you do not know the brand by now then you must be hiding lol Nice branch, good service with access to everyone. Nice to chill out for a bit, use the wifi and enjoy a coffee

This is one of my favourite Costa shops. The staff are fabulous - always service with a smile. Coffee is made to your requirements and there is always something tempting to try before you buy.

Lovely coffee. Friendly staff. Nice venue. Very spacious and light. Outside seating available. Was busy but staff were efficient so the queue went down quickly.

This place has lots of space inside and a nice area outside for the summer. Always clean and good service .

Me he alojado aquí unas cuantas veces y no hacerse una revisión antes, pero decidió que se merece. El personal es muy alegre y siempre amable y rápida. Hay un montón de asientos y siempre actualizado a diario periódicos. Es como cabe esperar de una costa.

Vienen aquí cada dos semanas con un amigo y siempre reciben un servicio amable y rápido. Que intentan compensar el calor fuera por tener el aire acondicionado puesto, pero luego roza la muy fría, especialmente cuando estamos allí por una hora y media!

Los poderes que podría ser más arriba en la cadena POR FAVOR alguien en a arreglar la segunda máquina de café que ha sido rota por casi 2 semanas ahora en la Costa de Witham El escaso personal de trabajo para conseguir el café, pero no puedo seguir con la demanda. Este es un pequeño gran costa, con un personal amable y muy trabajadores que están tratando en circunstancias difíciles.

Después de trabajar en Witham, el personal de Costa han sido nada pero servicial y un buen montón para reirse! A veces nos gustaría trabajar los fines de semana debido a la naturaleza de nuestro trabajo y sin sostener la cola con nuestros pedidos, pero el personal en costa eran nada pero muy eficiente y servicial.

Otro mal servidos, una larga espera para un precio rebajado sobre el café.

Yes the coffee is good - thats why I keep going back but honestly, 15mins wait for four coffees with only one person in the queue is unacceptable.This complacency is creeping in a lot of Costas - they think they have the market sewn up so don't have to bother. ONE person serving and they chatted and served members of staff before waiting customers............next time I shall make the effort and seek out other places.

Above average priced drinks and food. Get some posers in as happens in most coffee bars, they don't realise what idiots they look. Friendly staff who communicate in a friendly manner.

Very friendly and efficient staff - and they do recognise their regulars. Always busy in there, but a great place to have a coffee, read the papers and enjoy a bite. Consistent coffee and food - so you know what you are getting.

Always lovely coffee & cakes. Staff are friendly and seating usually available. Although there's usually a queue that you expect in costas, they are very efficient and the queue goes quick enough.

Sep 15 chief exec would not be raising prices in 2015, what a surprise first month in 2016 saw an increase in prices in nearly all drinks. Staff in Witham had to point to the new pricing boards behind them, poor staff, not their fault. In fact most of them are very friendly. Apart from the old man in the morning, coughing all the time, the place is of good ambience.

This is by far the best costa I have been to the service is always really friendly and inviting, the place is clean and it's a great little place to sit and people watch :)

its ok as a costainside is quite large but during the warmer days outside is nicestaff are nice and friendly

This coffee shop is good, ok for a stop and rest during shopping, have not been more than twice to this coffee shop, because I do not live in Whitham. The lattes I had were very nice, hot and good

This used to be a lovely store, we were regular visitors. However, Sunday's are now terrible at this Costa, this was our third attempt at a Sunday visit and we won't go again.Apart from the terminally slow counter service, we had to contend with a barrista that was impossibly slow and horribly ignorant, actually ignoring us when we pointed out that he'd given us the wrong drinks and not given us other things we'd ordered. It took the manager asking me if she could help to sort it out. I know it's the weekend, but some staff members were stomping around like they'd rather be anywhere else than at work. Nothing says 'service' like having your meal hurled onto the table by a belligerent teenager.Sorry Costa, we won't be back.

One of my favourite Costas in and around Essex. Staff seem cheerful and friendly here. Nicely situated in a pedestrian area, with good outdoor seating area that catches the sun.

Visit this shop regularly and always greeted with a warm welcome.. brilliant coffee and their speciality. Coffees are delish my daughter highly recommends the speciality hot chocolate. Would Luke to give Reece a special mention always has a smile and excellent customer service. Well done Costa keep it up

coffee very good. would have got a 5 but depending who does it not always as hot as could be. staff friendly and take a couple of moments to ask "of you" very clean and quick to clear tables

My local Costa in Witham is always good for a coffee and a snack. The toasted sandwiches are really nice and the cakes and pastries tasty as well. Staff always seemed rushed off their feet. I think the prices are a bit steep but if you like different coffees some of these are well worth trying.This Costa has been newly decorated and has a relaxed atmosphere.Costa need to take a look at their toilets as all the ones I have ever been in are not that nice and not that clean.
