Costa in Perth & Kinross

One of my fav coffee shops, with excellent coffee, and friendly staff. Relaxing atmosphere. I go there often.

After a very rude greeting from the member of staff behind the counter I decided not to give them my custom.

All five stars are due to the barrister who when we asked his name said he was called Jamie Bell. My partner and I were in an awful mood upon arriving at Costa but Jamie greeted us with smiling eyes which instantly improved our spirits. We had a few questions about the track and trace which Jamie quickly answered, he also made us laugh before attending to his duties. Before we left Jamie said goodbye. We attempted to leave a tip of £20 but Jamie politely declined and said we should instead donated to a charitable cause.

Rude woman served us! Hot chocolate was lukewarm. No marshmallows after paying for them and then grudgingly given when requested. Poor service and not the standard I would expect at Costa. Starbucks next time definitely

One staff member kept swinging his feet over the counter to save walking, not hygienic. The man making the coffee simply boiled the milk and threw it in the cup. I could not drink it for 20 mins. I have never seen a messier barista either. So clumsy, he was spilling the coffee over peoples trays. Less haste. I won’t be back, no texture in my latte, far too hot, no napkins, not hygienic.

I stopped here for a coffee c8am on a weekday. It’s really handy - just off the motorway - with plenty of free parking. The Retail Park also has a M&S food store and several other shops. The Costa has a good amount of seating, the toilets were clean (if a bit small) and friendly service. The fare is standard Costa - so it’s good. Well worth a visit if you are passing.
