Corr's Corner Hotel Restaurant in Newtownabbey

The hotel is well placed for meetings and conferences. Which is what brought me to the hotel. My only complaint was in relation to some noise created next to the conference room, which made it difficult to hear the presentations.

Went for our annual Xmas family dinner. Service as usual fast and efficient. Had to ask for Xmas crackers but didn't spoil what is a great spot for families. Went for lunch at St Patrick's day. Again usual great food and great service. Plenty of room to accommodate all group sizes.

Attended a work event at this venue, travelled from East Belfast, and with only 14 miles. This was a perfect location and only 20mins drive. Service from the staff was second to none, lunch was tasty 😋 and served piping hot. Would recommend the venue.

Went here for my school formal last year, it was fantastic!!

Booked for Mother’s Day for 4pm. Still sitting waiting for table at 5pm. Told us people kept showing up late to their tables so that’s why there’s a delay. Personally I wouldn’t have took the people that were late if it was gonna cause so much chaos and affect everyone that was there on time for their tables. Won’t be back unfortunately.

Overnight stays are good value. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff very welcoming and prices at the bar are reasonable. Food good and reasonably priced. A first class place to stay with a great location for travelling to Belfast or the North Antrim coast.

Went to Corrs for a meal with two overseas friends. We were highly impressed with the quality and quantity of the food and the friendly and attentive staff. Will definitely be back soon.

Came in with family and friends for lunch! It was perfect, great starters and we all had a roast it was superb. The children’s portions were good and we didn’t have any complaints. The waiter was on the ball and had first class service. Will definitely visit again, when next over.

4 of us went for a meal and enjoyed it. I had the breaded mushroom starter followed by the prawn and chicken stir fry. The starter was a good size while the main was a very large portion and both were very tasty. Staff were pleasant. My only gripe is that the decor is very dated but I believe the owners are investing in a major refurb in 2024

I've stayed several times when visiting Northern Ireland in fact it's my go to place, very warm and welcoming, good pub food, excellent breakfast with plenty of choice, helpful staff and definitely GVFM

Went for lunch, never had a bad experience here but unfortunately today's visit wasn't great. I ordered a burger but the wrong one came, I asked the waitress and it got changed no problem, the issue I had was with the manager, came across as very passive aggressive towards his staff and wasn't overly polite to us either, coming over more than once mid meal to talk about the mis order, not how I would've done things, inl felt sorry for this staff also.

Fantastic, comfortable venue 15mins north of Belfast. Excellent rooms and facilities. We found the staff to be perfectly friendly and attentive. Special mention to Michael at the bar...and the dining room staff during breakfast...all warm and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Great get together of Amputee friends and families. Very good food and service. Also very close to Motorway and transport links.

My Wife and I made this our first landing place on a 2 week trip from Colorado to Ireland. Corr's Corner could not have been a better beginning to our trip. We didn't expect much from the bar/restaurant, but were more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere. We stayed 3 nights, and the tone for our entire trip was properly set here. Tough to say where the best Guiness we had in Ireland was, but this place is near the top of the list. The restaurant was fantastic, with modest prices and healthy portions. (We took leftovers after dinner that got us through lunch the next day.) The included FULL Irish Breakfast Buffet became our reason to get up in the morning, and was by far the best breakfast we had on our trip. The staff was friendly, informative, and truly made us feel at home 3,000+ miles from where we reside. We got to take in a rugby match 1 night in a very calm and relaxed atmosphere where some locals kindly helped us absorb the game, and a fantastic Irish singer/songwriter the next night, who spared us any Abba covers! (a rarity it seems?!?!) The bed was comfy, the shower was lovely, and everything was as clean as could be. If we ever find ourselves back in the area, the decision on where we will be staying is very simple. Thank You to all the staff that gave us such a great start to our trip. Matt+Erin McLahey

Grand hotel food restaurant staff slow and unhelpful

To be positive, the service was very good. Staff are lovely. Restaurant was quite cold - I had to keep my coat on. My meal was probably the worst I’ve eaten anywhere. Scampi batter was soft and tasteless. Cauliflower had black stalks so didn’t eat it. Garlic potatoes were cubes with a huge lump of unmelted butter balancing on top. By the time it melted the dinner was cold. I had guests with me and didn’t want to cause any embarrassment so contacted them later. Reply from duty manager: “I can only apologise”! Food is too expensive to begin with and quality just isn’t there. Chefs need to up radically their game!

Gavin made it easy to arrange for a funereal tea. He ensured everything ran smoothly on the day and made provision for those who were gluten free and vegetarian. He had a very friendly manner. Well filled sandwiches goujons and chips. Many remarked food was delicious.

Love this place for a nice meal and the wee waiters servers are the best crack

A fantastic hotel with a superb breakfast. The evening meals are superb. The room was large had everything you need was cleaned regularly and very very comfortable bed. The staff are amazing always cheerful and happy to help. Highly, highly recommend.

Had a family meal on Saturday Night passed 1st of April 2023. We hadn't booked (7of us) and we were taken into the bar area as it was extremely busy. We had to wait but it wasn't too long and the food was well worth it.

Food was awful. Chicken tasted like rubber, duck was dried and shrivelled. Roast beef was like cardboard. Garlic potatoes had no flavour. Husbands plate (duck) was so hot, as if it had been in the oven. You couldn’t have touched it. We used to go all the time to Corrs before covid. After covid it has went badly down hill. We haven’t been in over a year and thought we would try again but hugely disappointed. Never ever again will I be back.

3⭐️ hotel my back side - my stay was as pleasant as they come. The hotel decor was fine, the staff were very friendly and the food at any time of day was exceptional. The taste was brilliant with loads of flavour and the portions were huge! Would 100% stay again

We hadn’t booked but the young lady got us seated with no trouble at all. It was a busy restaurant. We enjoyed our food with starters and mains of chicken goujons, burger and Indian madras. The servings are very generous. We were going to have dessert but no one returned to us and so we decided to head on. I’d suggest a little more attention to tables/ courses/ drinks etc. I would return as it could have been just our timings.

This is a great hotel that offers first class accommodation and great food. They stock amazing local Belfast Artisan gin.

If your looking for a lovely meal at a reasonable price then this is the place for you

Used to be a regular customer, but food had gone down hill big time when the food at best was either over cooked or reheated and had got very expensive. That being said, it was before covid, so we decided to try again as we had heard good things recently and must say I'm glad we went. My steak sub was cooked to perfection, and my husband had the chicken kebab and also said it was very tasty. The only reason for the 4 stars is because we had to ask for condiments and drinks menu. Not a big issue, but when sat in the corner, we couldn't see the bar itself to see what they had. The lady serving us wasn't the most pleasant but a gentleman in a suit when he realised we hadn't the menu, etc. He was apologetic and got us sorted. We stayed for a few more drinks in the bar area, and the bar staff were lovely. It's great to see how busy it was, and if the food keeps up this standard, we will definitely be back and try the deserts, which looked amazing but just didn't have room for.

I had the most gorgeous lunch on a Saturday and the staff were so helpful and attentive.

Been coming for years and never had a bad experience. Staff are fantastic and the food is worth every penny.

Food not good shortage off trained staff

A very nice spot to go for a pint, spot on.

Rooms adequate though hot water seemed to be bit of a problem with my room. Hot tap loose and water only tricked out, shower was a jet only. Food was amazing. Initially service in the restaurant was good but dropped off after around 9pm. Had an empty glass for about 20 minutes whilst eating my meal before I could get attention of watress. That said I would definitely stay again.

We have regularly stayed and dined here for family events over the years however after today's experience, they will never have my or my families custom again. If you look at my reviews you will see I rarely complain unless I am truly disgusted and today I was. We went in for lunch today afternoon and the older gentleman serving had no greeting for us whatsoever, just pointed us to a table in the corner. His service through out was unfriendly and cold. Fine maybe he's having a bad day like we all do. I ordered chicken goujans for me (£15) and my child (£7), small glass of coke was £2.90, awful food couldn't even eat them it was disgusting, it was either frozen or processed in some way. The side salad was soggy, parts of the lettuce were black completely inedible. We would have been better off going for a KFC, it would have been much cheaper and fresher. The plates were practically full going back into the kitchen and I waited to be asked was everything OK with my food but I wasn't asked at all. The same gentleman took my payment for the bill, he still didn't ask how I found the food otherwise I would have told him and prevented this review. I can honestly say it was atrocious service and food, I am horrified that places like this can get away with treating people in this way. There are plenty of places around the area, I will not be back on my usual Friday afternoons or Sunday lunch times and I will make sure neither will my extended family or close friends, I was truly that horrified today.

Hasn’t changed much in years … basic good food nothing exceptional service good prices average … food wise it’s like sleeping back in time!

Stayed here for a few day for a conference. Had a great experience, very comfortable and a really good bar and grill restaurant with a variety of food on offer. The staff were some of the friendliest I’ve ever encounter. I would like to make a special mention to Katrina as she was brilliant, nothing was too difficult and she would go above and beyond the call of duty. Many thanks Katrina!!

We’ve been here a few times as a family. Food usually beautiful. My daughters always get goujons but they have changed them, they were an awful grey colour, hardly any chicken, looked like just out of the freezer & completely tasteless. So they was 3 meals that were awful. I got the hake goujons which were beautiful. Overall very disappointing experience. However staff are lovely.

I would have to say 100% went for dinner and couldn't ask for any more service 10/10 dinner 100% brilliant and the staff couldn't do anymore then what they did price for a 4 couse dinner was very good

Booked a table for restaurant. Starters wer great 3 main meals wer good too 4th main meal was disgusting. No one came near us to ask was everything ok as most restaurants do. The roast beef cudnt be cut with a steak knife and the roast potatoes wer rock hard! Wen table was being cleared we mentioned to waiter and he spoke to chef came back to tell us he wud remove the meal from the bill. Wile waiting to pay the bill another table complained re same thing. Checked bill on leaving and wer charged for the meal. Had to go back and ask for the meal to be refunded. Altogether a rotten experience. Havnt been there in yrs coz we went right off it. Wont b returning any time soon either. Staff arent great either except for a very young waiter and a lovely female who both disappeared after we had been served. Prob on a well deserved break i suppose.

Hill Croft School Formal held in Corrs Corner last week was amazing! Staff were very attentive and food was lovely.

I had the steak sub. hubby had the catch of the day. It was delicious! Full and filling I can’t move ! Jack was full of banter and funny. The place was so busy on a Wednesday night. Not surprised as it was so good !

Very poor Breakfast. We arrived back at 1145pm and couldn't get in . Took 10 mins for someone to open door

Beautiful Hotel and The Food is just delicious. Very Friendly and helpful staff and all rules and regulations are in place too. You won't leave Corrs Corner Hotel feeling hungry. Definitely worth a visit. For a Hotel they don't have a wonderful variety of Non Alcoholic Beverages. Only one beer and the other one is Guiness. I'd highly recommend you book your table before going as it's a very busy Hotel. They do ask you if you are willing to wait for a table to come available and if you do they take your name and how many people they need to facilitate. You don't have to wear masks now but it's up to everyone to decide for themselves.

Went in with a friend to grab a bite after a round of golf, ordered a "Corrs club sandwich", what arrived was an anaemic looking unseasoned chicken fillet in an untoasted bap with a barely cooked rasher of bacon atop. The people at the next table burst out laughing at the sorry sight!? When I asked the waitress what was going on I was abruptly told if I read the menu it clearly states that it is not a traditional club sandwich (ie a club sandwich) but was a "Corrs corner club" (ie a cold chicken fillet in a bap). Been going to this place on and off for twenty odd years and although the food was hardly ever going to win prizes it was simple and edible. No more it would seem, the staff are rude and defensive, probably due to all the complaints about their horrific grub, how this hellhole is still open beggars belief. Wee tip for the owner, hire somebody who knows how to cook and lose the nasty waiting staff.

Attended for a lunch time work event. Place.full of immigrants lounging about with their feet up on sofas etc on their laptops and iPhones. .(no.women.or children to be seen) Spoke to a couple of them....'no English'. Felt uncomfortable and would not want to stay here although you probably cant, cos it's full !!!
