Went with my husband today, my husband had braised breast of lamb and I had the salmon, both may I add was amazing. The service was great and everything very reasonably priced.

A special evening, Guy Owen and the St Enodoc team spent the day with the St Austell students culminating in a sublime dinner. The food was absolutely stunning, the service was great. Being shellfish intolerant, a member of our party even had their own menu. Well done to all the team, we can't wait to return

We enjoyed a lunch at The Cloisters, the training restaurant of Cornwall College St Austell. The young staff are keen and are clearly being well trained in all aspects of hospitality. The menu was interesting and the food well presented and cooked. We had a beautiful piece of hake. It is very good value at £12/£15 for 2 or 3 courses. The restaurant is well signed and there is parking available

An excellent training restaurant from the welcome, taking your coat, showing you to your table, taking drink orders, explaining the menu where necessary, giving time to ponder and enjoy. The student staff were professional, friendly, confident, knowledgeable and efficient. The food was excellent and fantastic value, menu varied and of a high standard. It was good to return to Cloisters. The food was up to the high standards previously enjoyed and the service from the students was very good. It is alway s good to taklk to the young chefs and talk to them about the food they have prepared. Cloisters offers good food at affordable prices and a pleasant atmosphere. I look forward to a return visit for a Christmas lunch.

Lovely Christmas dinner, even more special this year as last year we missed out due to COVID. Students friendly and helpful, we like to think we are adding to their learning experience, while enjoying our food experience!

I was nervous about going out for Christmas Lunch with a group of friends after being advised by my GP to follow a 'Low FODMAP' diet. I have been very ill on 2 occasions after eating out elsewhere. I emailed Matthew the Restaurant Manager to share my worry and my dietary needs and he was really helpful, recommending which options to choose and arranging for special gluten free gravy with the main meal and lactose free cream with the desert. It was very tasty and I have had no ill effects, so I can really recommend this training restaurant for students. It is well managed and accommodating. .

Four of us had lunch today, myself and my other half were treated by my parents!. We own a restaurant ourselves and eat out regularly. £13 for 3 courses... It was fantastic. Every single dish was lovely, the taste, the presentation, the portion size perfect. We could have been in a top restaurant and I would leave this review. Brilliant... well done students and teacher! We will be back regularly. Try it, trust me!

This week I have had a Christmas lunch with both family and work colleagues, picking different food for each course on the two different days and it was all perfectly cooked with portion sizes being just right. The service from the students was excellent and at £17.95 for the three courses it was brilliant value as well so I highly recommend this restaurant.

I and a group of my co-workers had a wonderful Christmas lunch at the Cornwall College Cloisters Restaurant last week. This was the first time I've eaten in this restaurant, which gives the catering and hospitality students a real life experience of preparing, cooking and servicing customers. The food was fantastic, well prepared and cooked, beautifully presented and well served. I can honestly say the turkey I had was the best I've ever had, moist, tasty and plentiful. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for a beautifully cooked and served meal at a great price.

This restaurant gives students in the hospitality course a n experience of dealing with paying customers . From the start checking in with our coats to the end paying for our meal everything was done to the highest standards with politeness and a smile on their faces. The food was very good and the young chefs came around after the meal to hear everyone's comments, good and bad all were received with a smile on their faces. I am not going to pretend everything was perfect, if it was there would be no need for them to attend college and we would be paying 10 times more for our meall. Well done to students and the tutors to quite arnold i will be back

Only good compliments made by every Red Hatter and especially to Cloisters for going the extra mile with a couple of our ladies who had special dietary requirements. Well done to you all. Great service. Great food. Friendly staff I would definitely recommend it to anyone. It's a great place to try things you usually would not try.

I have enjoyed several enjoyable meals here and intend to have many more. It is a fascinating experience. Very friendly staff, and cafe and seating to enjoy a coffee before your meal. The dining area is well laid out and attended. Orders for pre dinner drinks are taken and served very promptly by cheerful and friendly staff. The food? Ah yes, the meals. Three meals and coffee for £14.00 at midday and evenings are slightly more. The chefs and other kitchen staff come out and visit tables and chat. All very informal but organised and friendly. The food has always been amazing.

Family and a few friends had a very delicious meal at this restaurant. The atmosphere, surroundings and the service was all excellent. Ther were nine of us and each one said how delicious their food was. Can't fault the food and the price was surprisingly reasonable. Definitely worth several more visits this year.

A group of friends went to the Christmas evening meal and it was absolutely first class from the moment w walked through the door. A lot of the local establishments with supposedly professional staff could learn a lot from Cloisters. well done all of you.

Words are not sufficient to describe not only the food, but the excellent service. Am reluctant to say too much as I don't want too many people to visit !!! Would like to remain my secret. Can't wait to return.

We had another fantastic meal at this superb restaurant. It is difficult to believe that this a college restaurant. The food and service are second to none. We had a scrumptious starter with scallops and prawns in a seafood bisque reduction that was simply delicious. This was followed by the turkey dinner which was extremely tasty and beautifully presented. One of our party had the sea bass and she raved about it. Our other friend had the roast beef and he really enjoyed this. All the desserts were delicious. All our party's meals arrived at the same time. The price is very reasonable. I also purchased some of the lovely Christmas goodies for gifts. An awesome restaurant.

Went to Cloisters for a work Christmas lunch, and as a vegan i was ready to be surprised. i was not disappointed in the least. Three courses for £17.95 including a coffee afterwards was superb value for the quality of food that was served.

24 ladies who enjoy fine dining went to Cloisters Restaurant and were absolutely delighted with the menu. We received a copy of the menu a week before the visit but did not have to preorder. This meant each time we met one another during that week we had a discussion about what we might choose to eat - all added to the excited anticipation of a most delicious meal.

Have been there to eat with a small group (20 people) on a regular monthly basis, with a large group twice and several times with just four or six of us. Have never had a bad meal there yet and it is very very reasonably priced.

Excellent food and value, it must be remembered this is a training establishment and part of the attraction is seeing in how the students develop their skill. A group of us regularly eat there and will certainly continue to do so.

The three course meal was excellent value and drinks were well priced. The service was a little slow however, and two of the four starters were 'off' by the time we ordered.

The diabetic sweet was fruit ( apple and orange) which contained sugar, not edible.The water / tea / black coffee was contaminated with chemicals and not drinkable,No Cheese.

This was our stand out meal of the year. The menu is really well planned and the flavours in the dishes are exceptional.If you find it difficult to choose from the menu don't worry - it doesn't matter what you pick as it is ALL superb. Some examples: STARTERS: Scallops + drake pudding; ham hock tortellini; pesto pana cotta with bloody Mary sauce. MAIN COURSE: Lamb 3 ways with baby beet; duck breast with Jerusalem artichoke duck confit + blackberries; Monkfish wellington with scampi + pea veloute. DESSERT: Asiette of 5x seasonal desserts (see photo). PLUS freshly baked bread, amuse bouche, palate cleanser, coffee and petit fours. Every course has exciting and delicate flavours. One of the chief joys is the fact that the students are all learning their trade with enthusiasm and skill. The restaurant manager must be extremely proud of them all. Well done Cloisters and Cornwall College and thank you all for a lovely evening.

I have eaten here before and last night I was not disappointed. The quality and choice of menu was excellent. The cost can never be argued with as it is good value for money. The changes made to the environment are successful and it has a pleasant feel which adds to the eating experience.This is a training environment and it is good to see the young people taking the learning experience seriously. I am sure many will find a good place in the catering world. Sometimes those new to this environment find any display of uncertainty by the young people frustrating and become impatient. But they are learning new skills and have to learn things that are not always natural gifts. So well done Mathew for guiding them through and adding to a good evening.

My husband and I had a lovely Ruby Wedding anniversary meal at the Cloisters. The young staff were very professional, extremely attentive and welcoming, and the menu was impressive. The food itself was great and made the evening a memorable one.

I have been lucky enough to visit this restaurant of many occasions. At no time have I been disappointed by the quality of food, the standard of service or value for money. The dishes served would not be out of place in top restaurants and I thoroughly recommend a visit.

Just eaten at Cloisters for the first time in a couple of years, but it was our fourth visit. The food was amazing in variety and flavour. Hot dishes were piping hot; cold desserts refreshing and tasty. A good variety of fish and fowl and an excellent selection of vegetables. Service from arrival to departure was friendly and efficient. It is a training restaurant and the students were receiving some instruction during service, but that didn't detract from our experience one bit. It was interesting to talk to the students, too, about their course and their future plans. Unfortunately the restaurant is now closed until the start of the next academic year but it is our intention to try to visit more frequently.

The food was very well presented and beautifully cooked. Only comment was that the crab & chilli sauce should have been served in a more accessible dish as it was delicious but very difficult to get out. Excellent value for money.

Lunched here today for the second time. Excellent quality food, beautifully presented. 3 courses for £10.50, what value!! The service is second to none, everyone is very welcoming. Everything is prepared, cooked and served by the students. A nice touch is that after the courses the students, who have prepared the food, visit each table to hear the customers' reaction to their food. Well worth the 80 mile round trip. Shame we don't live closer. Would happily award more than 5 stars were it possible.

We ate lunch at Cloisters today and were really impressed. We had 3 course meal which was beautifully cooked and presented and well served all under the watchful eye of a supervisor. Most impressed that 11yr old "fussy" daughter tried everything on her plate even eating the samphire under her cornish fishcake in bisque sauce and my 9 year old was really impressed with the orange polenta cake and all its adornments. Great to chat to the chefs and other students about their training. A 3 course meal with wine for <£15 head has to be too good to miss

We keep going back, the food is truly excellent and such good value. The restaurant is run by the students under supervision. These youngsters are the Nathan Outlaw's of the future. Cannot be too highly praised.

I've been to Cloisters restaurant a few times now, the food is always outstanding and I would recommend it to anyone. Great food, great service and a really enjoyable experience.

2nd time of eating here and 2nd time of being impressed by the standard of the food in taste and presentation, the front of house staff can be a little nervous and awkward in their service but talking and engaging with them helps to put them at ease, nice touch that the chefs came out and spoke with the diners, great value for money, and wouldn't be worried in recommending the place to anyone, great way to learn the ropes for the students and a benefit to the diners, well done to all concerned

The college restaurant certainly produces some excellent cooks judging by the food/meals they produce.Always a pleasure to eat here and try their work.The staff and pupils are always helpful and obliging. Parking on sitePrices reasonable. Nice to know the tax payers money is being well spent.

Excellent food cooked by students at the college.nother students serve at front of house or serve the drinks. All sure taught every aspect of fine dining including silver service. All meals have been so good which is a credit to the students and their tutors. The chefs always come out to their clients and it is such a pleasure to support them. Thoroughly recommended.

First time dining on one of the fine dining nights after seeing the ad on Facebook. Well sort the price as it's great value for money. Not only are you helping some young people learn about working in the restaurant trade, but the food is superb!

My husband and I went for lunch today and each had the 3 course meal, all 6 dishes were absolutely superb, presentation, choice and taste - STUNNING, the only thing wrong was we didn't take the camera so missed capturing a visual feast. Our hat's off to the chefs, the waiting staff and the whole team.

This was our second visit to Cloisters and we were as 'wowed' by the quality of food and service as we were the first time! The students work so hard and the food is just to die for!! Presentation is fantastic and the variety of food on the menu makes it so hard to decide what to have! Thanks to everyone who made out visit so good! A definite must! Went in for lunch last week and was very impressed! Food was presented like any Michelin star restaurant and the belly pork was amazing! We even got to see the chiefs that had cooked each course! Cannot believe they can produce such high quality food at such a low cost to customers.

This training restaurant at Cornwall College St Austell is a perfect venue for lunch. The restaurant has a beautiful view overlooking St Austell Bay, and our lunch today was worthy of a Michelin rating. The student chefs are to be congratulated for serving such high quality cuisine; the students training in front of house duties were most attentive. My husband and I have decided to make Cloisters a regular lunch venue. Thank you to both students and instructors for such a great experience.

Had meal today with local carers group. Fantastic food especially the white chocolate cheesecake with rhubarb!! Fantastic service too in Brilliant atmosphere. Will come back soon!!

The students and their tutor were all so friendly, the food was absolutely lovely and the service was very good indeed. Really reasonably priced, I will certainly recommend Cloisters and will certainly return.

Three courses for £8.50, all wine £8 a bottle and cocktails for £3 - but this does not feel like a low budget compromise! The students aim to provide excellence in food and service, and although some of the menu items had sold out when we got there at 1pm the food we had was very impressive.

The Cornwall College has trainee restaurant where all the young future chefs learn their skills, baking, cooking to laying the tables. This is a wonderful experience. Really reasonably priced. You go once you want to go again and again. It is organised to perfection and these young people take their tasks very seriously indeed. Try it and you will not be disappointed.

The food which was prepared by catering students at the college was amazing. Extremely well presented, very tasty, good size portions and all for a reasonable price.

We went there last night in a party of 6 - first time for myself and my husband, the rest of the party were regulars. It was a real treat - the food was very good indeed and all very good value for money. I applaud the students - brilliant job! We are booking to go back late in January! Can't wait

This is our third time to Cloisters and every time we've come the food and the atmosphere has been superb. The food and drinks are excellent value for money. It's only £8.50 for a 3 course lunch and £7 for a bottle of wine. Nice view of the bay as they're quite high up. We would definately recommmend this friendly restaurant.

Cloisters was a nice surprise I was taken there for my Birthday I was treated like royalty and made to feel very welcome. I have eaten all over the world and for a training restaurant I was pleasantly astonished with the food I received the bread fresh and everything was hot and appealing on the eye. I would recommend the restaurant but you need to appreciate that it is a training restaurant.

For a training restaurant the service was excellent and the food was very good value for money at only £8.50 for a 3 course lunch.
