I stopped en route to the ferry after seeing the sign for Sunday lunch ( even if you go past you can turn around in the label a few yards up the road ) Warm welcome from the owners and a fantastic Sunday lunch with lovely fresh selection of vegetables and fab roast potatoes. Just perfect and set me up for my long journey ahead !! Thank you both for making my day much nicer !

First visit. I had the beef dinner. It was absolutely delicious. All homemade by the lovely Landlady. Landlord friendly and professional. Sat in the bar after lunch with the locals. All really friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to returning for more great food and merriment. I'll bet the beer garden is perfect in the summertime.

We've always had a good lunch here, but today was the first time we had Sunday lunch - it was delicious. A good choice of starters was followed by choice of roast Beef, pork or turkey or 2 vegetarian options, all served with copious vegetables. It was all freshly cooked and like home cooking. We even had the chance to buy two slices of homemade cake to take home for tea. All very professional and friendly. We'll be back for sure.

Just had the most stunning Sunday lunch here. They do 3 sizes, which is great, a small, an adult & a large adult. We had 2 adults, which is plentiful, and one large adult, which was huge. Great for a growing teen 🤣 and those with huge appetites. The meat was cooked perfectly, we had the beef and turkey. Meat, roasties, new pots, roast parsnips, Yorkshires, stuffing and gravy come plated up. Veg were cooked perfectly, all fresh and plenty. We had 5 different veggies. They come in tureens so you can help yourself to what you need. You also get extra gravy in gravy boats. It was very tasty and all home made 👌 One of our party isn’t a big Sunday lunch fan, so he had a cold meat platter, like a ploughman’s, which was a large size and very tasty. It’s nice to see something other than roast dinners on the menu for those that’s not keen on roast dinners. But the best was yet to come, their puddings are just amazing 😋 home made proper Sunday lunch puddings. We had the chocolate brownies, jam & coconut sponge and the best ever apple crumble, all home made and tasted divine. Nicest Sunday lunch we’ve had in a long time and will definitely be back. They accept dogs in the bar area too, which is a bonus, have a lovely beer garden area, for those nice sunny days. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. A great find. Don’t let the exterior put you off this little gem. Lovely and clean inside, friendly and welcoming. We will definitely return.

Drove past this pub whilst looking for somewhere to eat. What a good choice! They are not only dog friendly but the Land Lady went out of her way to make a fuss of him. We had burgers, fish and chips, Hunters chicken and beef bourguignon. All of the dishes were delicious and good portions. We took some cake home as could not fit it in and this was lush too! Will definitely visit again on our next holiday to West Wales.

Don't be put off by the rather run down exterior and untidy car park area. Inside the pub is bright and clean and very welcoming. We had a lovely lunch with friends (2 of us had scampi, 1 fish and chips and 1 burger). This is not gastro food but good quality home cooked pub fayre with proper chips like you'll remember them from the 70's. We all had desserts also home made, the boys especially enjoyed their large bowls of crumble swimming in custard. We had our 3 dogs with us and were able to take them into the bar. Good value for money at around £25 a head for the 2 courses and a couple of rounds of drinks.

First of all the staff were very friendly, and welcoming and they accepted dogs. However, the food on the other hand was poor, the potatoes tasted like they were cooked yesterday and reheated. Also the food was not the hottest. We had starters, homemade scotch eggs and a fish cake which were average. Unfortunately would be in a rush to return.

My wife, my mother, and I visited this pub for an evening meal. We had our dogs with us so needed somewhere dog friendly. The owner was happy to accommodate us in the bar area which was absolutely fine. The food was good old fashioned homemade pub grub. My wife had a steak which she said was cooked perfectly. My Mother had the Sticky Chicken dish which she said was lovely and I had the chicken curry which was really tasty. My wife and I shared a jam & coconut sponge for dessert which we both loved. Overall we really enjoyed our visit to this pub. The owners were friendly, the service was good and we couldn't fault the food at all. We would definitely visit again if we were in the area.

We booked dinner for 4 at this pub whilst staying in a cottage locally at Wolfs Castle. Very happy with our choice. We had a dog with us so needed to sit in the bar side rather than the restaurant side which was fine. I enjoyed a homemade chicken curry, my husband had gammon and egg, my sister in law had some lovely looking cold gammon which the chef made into a ploughmans and my mother had a honey chicken dish which was on the specials I think. All very tasty. We then sampled an apple and blackberry crumble with custard which went down well and a white choc brownie with ice cream. It transpired the chef was a baker and had a range of other homemade cakes available which looked great! Friendly and relaxed pub with proper pub grub - and a side line in cakes!

Been to the Corner Piece a few times and been pleased with the service - but the last time was poor. We ordered 2 prawn cocktails which came with NO sauce and the smallest prawns I have ever seen. Then my partner had a curry which was satisfactory, however I had fish and chips - but the fish was over cooked and the batter so hard I couldn't hardly eat it. I did prefer the male chef (husband) cooking and that day was his day off. Won't be going there again.

Darren keeps a great cellar with nice local guest ales. This pub is owned and run by Amanda and Darren and to me that makes the difference. My wife and I were looking for a nice restaurant to take my parents to as a way of saying thank you for letting us stay with them while on vacation here. After checking out the reviews on line we decided to book a table at the Corner Piece. We were not disappointed! The inside is clean and fresh with neutral colours. The hosts were very polite and attentive as were the servers. Me and Dad had pate and a vegetable soup, both were home made and absolutely delicious! The main courses (steak and gammon) were very generous portions, and absolutely perfectly cooked and presented. Service was very good, there was a wait for the food but not overly so as all the dishes are cooked to order not pre prepared. We found room for desserts, somehow, and these were equally generous and delicious. Considering the amount of food and drinks consumed, the bill was very reasonable. Altogether an excellent enjoyable experience. Will definitely come here again. Highly recommended!! We wish the owners great success in the future! You all deserve it!

Visited one evening about 7pm with my husband as we were passing through. It's been a few years since we last visited this place and although it's been painted (more light and airy) all the charm has gone, no character/no pictures on walls, so it's not as homely..The menu is brilliant with everything home made, (Inc proper chips!) And the prices reflect the good size portions..Service is a bit slow but as everything is cooked fresh to order this can be forgiven. It's also a bit hard to find any staff if you require more drinks/to pay etc.I had cottage pie, a good serving with fresh vegetables but it somewhat lacked in taste..However it was piping hot and filling. My husband had gammon, he ate all of his, highly praised how fresh the salad was and he cleared his plate!Overall we were happy with our visit and it's some where we will visit again.

Go, you will not be dissapointed! Visited with my mother monster and we had a pork and beef dinner. Meat was stunning and locally sourced, veg was full of flavour and plentiful. You can choose between 1 and 3 courses, large/small/childrens portions and puddings were gorgeous. Service with a smile.Definitely more visits required

We know the Cornerpiece well, having eaten there many times over the years, but we havenot been there for several years. What a difference a couple of years makes! We walked through the door to be greeted by the very friendly Landlord. The pub has had a complete, sympathetic make over. It is now light and airy, with more of an emphasis on food, but still with some great draft beers. We had booked ahead for Sunday lunch (we found out later, that is all that is available on Sunday, travellers please note). We were not disappointed, this Sunday, the choices were Beef, Pork, or Turkey plus a "veggie" option. With a range of starters and home made sweets. We opted for the two courses £10.95 deal and skipped the starters, one Pork and one Beef. Just as well, we saw some starters being served, they looked great and they were certainly generous. Our meals were beautiful, very large portions with a side dish, again generous of four or five different vegetables. The pork came with excellent crackling and the beef with a tasty Yorkshire pudding. Gravy was also served separately. The home made sweets, sponge pudding and apple crumble were just that, home made! Just like mother used to make. The two youngsters serving us were charming, polite, well dressed and attentive. All in all, well worth a visit if you are in the area, personally , I would book ahead, it is surely going to build up a repute on for excellent reasonably priced, good quality "Pub Grub". Two very minor niggles, the plates (and serving dishes) need to be warmer, because the quantities served deserved "seconds", and I wasn't impressed by the portion of mustard in a packet. We will definitely be back whenever we are down this way.

Having been a few times before we had no hesitation in booking a table at this value for money pub,the food was as usual a very good standard and served efficiently along with drinks, we have paid an awful lot more money for food not half as good, we were a little surprised that they didn't have lamb on the menu the Sunday we went but that's only because we love Welsh lamb, give it a go even if it's only for your wallets sake.

Sampled a local craft ale on our visit which was very nice. Landlord was welcoming and friendly. Popular with locals. Small car park.

Called in as passing for supper after work. A good varied menu and very reasonably priced. Can recommend the great homemade pies and curries. A lovely friendly welcome. Will def call again very soon. Would recommend trying as new owners have been in for just over 12 months. Fancy trying the small apetite menu . . 3 courses for under a tenner! Well worth a try I think!

First visit today after living in Pembs for nearly 3 years and unfortunately our last. The gentleman behind the bar (maybe owner) was very pleasant but food VERY overpriced for portion size and plates very small to make meal look large. Tasty enough but not worth the money.

We visited recently having stayed locally. We were greated by the new owners, it being their first year in business here. Although the pub was quiet with it being in between Christmas and New Year we found the owners friendly and accommodating. The food was home cooked, fresh and reasonable. Well worth a visit

Not Gastro Food. Excellent pub food with good locally brewed ale in a basic pub environment. A pub as they used to be. Friendly owning couple who are happy to give local advice on the pros and cons of shopping in the last week before Christmas; don't. A big problem is that the Trip Advisor location is about 6 miles from the actual location. Just follow the A40 from the TA position towards Fishguard and you I'll find The Corner Piece at the Spittal turn off. Well worth the stop.

Traditional, characterful pub owned and run by a decent man. Good local customers and selection of drinks. No food but if you want a welcome where you dont have to feel like a holidaymaker, this place is for you.

It was a rainy Sunday in Pembrokeshire. We were hungry, and a Google search pointed this place out. We almost knew what to expect and fancied a chinnese. Anyone with physical limitations do not try to access. No lights to the path and pitch dark. Once you're in it's cold and sparse. A few tables to accommodate sit downs but this place runs mostly on take aways. The cook was very busy. A young man taking orders, serving and dealing with customers coming in and out. Bit chaotic. We kept our coats on ate our dishes, which were nicer than expected. Worth a venture ... some fun a bit like faulty towers. We would go back.
