Amazing food, some of the best I've tasted. The staff are lovely people and are friendly to everyone. The place is well decorated with retro pictures on the walls.

"CHILDREN NOT ALLOWED" should be painted on the door as that is was this place wants. They absolutely HATE children! Made me feel like second class citizens. Dreadful atmosphere and they couldn't wait to get rid of us despite the place being almost empty. My children were extremely well behaved and never left the table, just sat quietly and eat their meal yet we was watched like a hawk. AVOID AVOID AVOID! I feel absolutely livid and if I could give zero stars I would.

Popped in today a family owned and nice traditional coastal cafe, we only had hot drinks and toasties on this occassion which were nice and fairly priced, friendly welcoming staff we shall definately return again

Nice little sandwich shop, very relaxed, prompt staff - and shots of gingerbread in coffees. Happy days.

Excellent experience throughout, had a bacon roll that was full of tasty bacon, well recommended. Finished with a very nice cup of coffee. Now ready for the day, will definitely return.

I came into the cafe and I would not get served and told to leave as was in work clothes I am an electrician so it’s not like I was dirty very rude will never ho there again

Went here for the first time this week with my family & sat inside, usual Covid guidelines , staff were nice , friendly & chatty, had latte & cheese / pickle toastie, mrs had mocha & cheese ham toastie, kids had soft drink & homemade milkshakes, all reasonably priced , would go back 😀👍

Very friendly with a nice selection of wares, only had a coffee but a very pleasant place to sit.

Very little interaction between staff and customers. Quite expensive when you take into account that when you order ham sandwich that is literally all you get. 1 slice of cheap ham served on the cheapest supermarket bread. Would have looked slightly better with possibly a few crisps or a little bit of salad.

Started coming here as a child and used to love it. Not been in for years. Same owners and looks identical! Tried to pop in today for a drink. Place was empty but we were told we could not bring our 3 month in, in her pram. Really disappointed. Will never return.

What a gem of a place. Had a long journey from Wiltshire and stopped for some light refreshments before continuing our journey to our final destination. A lovely warm welcome.scrupulously clean. Delicious cream scones and plenty of tea. Even though water pressure had failed throughout the town, the very kind owners let us use the facilities as they knew we had travelled so far. Highly recommended !

Once you have read all the information on notes placed on the walls and the treatment given by staff to hand sanotising. The drinks were fairly priced and the venue was ultra clean and tidy.

Been visiting this fabulous coffee shop for over 40 years. Pleased to see owners Shirley & Michael still taking the post-Covid situation very seriously. If this busy coffee house can do it, why can’t everyone else? The whole place is spotless, all customers use hand sanitizer on entry, tables are well spaced and the coffee is quite simply the best I’ve ever tasted anywhere. Banana and honey toasties? Yes please!

A quick takeaway coffee is all that we wanted, however, the sarcastic hag of a server couldn't run to the door quick enough to tell us our little girl and pushchair were not welcome and if we wanted a takeaway we would have to wait outside. I could half understand if they were busy. Custom taken a minute down the road where we were all made more than welcome.

Nice friendly staff, Nice and clean. Good cafe food. Only complaint it was cold, didn't take my coat off to eat my sandwich, which I've got to say had plenty of filling.

Quick visit on Saturday . Toasted sandwiches and pots of tea . Very covid safe freindly staff.. mediocre sandwich . Needs better quality bread and a little extra on plates salad or /and crisps . Plus when asked for mayo needs to be if just given a bottle decanted into little bowl and of much better quality than basic catering mayo. Also need a have upgrade of China not seen this for maybe 30 years !

Ate in here on Sunday. Spent nearly £12 for 2 sandwiches & 2 teas. Sandwiches were nothing to write home about (ordinary loaf), no garnish at all. No interaction from staff other than taking order & cash. Very disappointing, doubt if we will return 🤔

In these very uncertain of times felt really safe visiting this lovely cafe. Spotlessly clean and the bacon sandwiches were seriously good. Teacake filled with a good portion of good quality bacon!! Would definitely recommend.🍔🥓

The owners do not like anyone with 'extras'. I met a friend in there with her assistance dog. I had my assistance dog and my shopping trolley. My sister was there with us too and she noticed that the owners didn't like us taking our time having a drink etc. They clearly wanted to hurry us up. Also people with children (a sign outside telling parents to leave buggies etc outside) are not made welcome. Awful atmosphere.

Just been for a snack. They are trying to get it right on the whole especially one young server. However what put me off was the older man walking round with a cloth wiping the counter then he wiped the window sill and corner of the wall crevice with the cloth, went outside to serve ,take payment etc came back didn't use gel once. Kept touching his visor,got someone a dessert which fell off the plate so he picked it up with his fingers. I was so glad he didn't bring my food or I wouldn't have eaten it Sandwiches could have done with a little garnish or a few crisps very basic .I definately wouldn't return

RUDE!!! When asked a question, I found the lady (owner/manager) to be very rude and blunt with me. She did not give off a nice tone or attitude towards me at all and as a local I will be sure to avoid! EDIT: After reading some of the other reviews, I can't help but think that they have a problem with children/pushchairs as I was with my little girl and she was in her pushchair when I asked this very abrupt rude lady if she could just put some hot water in my baby girls bottle. I'd avoid this place, they're far more nicer places to go, e.g. stepping stones (over the road) or cafe cream just down the road past spar.

It gets me how these people can make there own rules up they think because they just come black from abroad they can still run a cafe and ignore the law not to open to the public they could help by just doing Home delivery But it just shows how selfish they really are

Should have a sign that reads ‘children not welcome,’ we were made to feel unwelcome by the gentleman (using the term loosely) I am assuming owner (with a chip on his shoulder) as soon as we arrived in the establishment. We have recently purchased a family holiday house locally and myself or any members of our family will never set foot in her again. Sorry my 1yr old may have drop a few small crumbs on the floor which we attempted to pick up and yes sorry if a dustpan and brush may have been needed. The young ladies were your only positive.

Went to get a breakfast for myself, wife my two year old boy along with our 16 week old baby boy, almost upon entry we saw a sign saying no pushchairs /prams, to be followed up by an old man who looked likely to be the owner say no prams allowed in the building and walked off , very rude manner and we had been regular customers before having children , so we went down the road to a much nicer place called Cafe cream , great food and very welcoming people, on our way back to the beach we passed the corner house once more and noticed a wheel chair folded up outside the door, and then we noticed all the customers inside were retired pensioner's (I've nothing against pensioners ) but it looked like this is customers that he wants there , avoid this place go somewhere else ,

Went there twice, first time was great, we were outside, because we have a dog, food was great, second time, we went back we went in side as it was very windy, went in with dog, and was ask to leave, as they don't let dogs in, we went to a local pub where we got talking to a man when we found out he was member of the family who's runs it, he said they let dogs in , so l don't know

I don’t normally write reviews but I just had to after the experience we had! Nipped in here as it’s where are 4year old daughter thought looked nice to eat. It WASN’T a nice place to eat! As we were walking through the open door a man rushed up to us and abruptly told us pushchairs aren’t permitted inside. We presumed that it must be for lack of space so said we’d leave the pushchair outside, the man looked disappointed that we’d actually chose to stay. As we went to sit down on a table where we could clearly see our pushchair he quickly appeared again and told us the high chair is in the other part of the cafe if we’d like to go sit there. By his tone it was clear that was where he wanted us to sit, out the way. If it wasn’t for our children being so hungry we’d of walked out. We reluctantly sat at the table with (from what I could see) the only high chair in the cafe. There was no option on the menu for children and we where getting funny looks from the other two tables that where in, so it was clear children aren’t welcome. Food was a big disappointment too!!! Very very very basic! We all had a sandwich and that is literally all you get. Two slices of standard loaf bread with shop brought ready sliced cheese inside, in our opinion a handful of salad or crisps wouldn’t go amiss. If you are a family avoid eating here, children aren’t welcome.

We don't go here any. Last visit we had tea and a scone and felt like we were sitting somoelse seat. Glared at by staff and regulars.! We bought a scone which had butter on then the woman serving it scraped it off! . My wife then went to the toilet and was followed by the owner muttering to a rugular that the toilet was vandalised last year so she locks it! Not a nice atmosphere.we now go to bachause pub.

Would have left 0 stars if i could. Absolutely disgusted! I have a 4 year old and a 6 month old baby and was refused entry because I had a pushchair. I would have happily folded it up given the option but the man was exceptionally rude. We ended up at the cafe across the road (stepping stones). And the service (and the cakes) were fantastic. Would love to know their policy on wheelchairs.

Absolute retro classic seaside cafe. Takes me back to childhood, nothing's changed in there I'm sure. Friendly staff and lovely coffee.

I revisited today after an absence of a few years, although I've been an infrequent but regular visitor for the past 45 years. Always an extremely warm welcome by the staff and from the moment you enter, the place exudes class. There is the choice of sitting at the front of the café and watching the world go by, or retiring to the rear for a taste of European nostalgia. When the café is quiet, the gentle background music coupled with the decor transports you to another time and place. In my opinion this is by far the best café I have visited...and I'm half a century old. It is well worth the visit to Sutton On Sea simply for a relaxing coffee in this wonderful place.

If you want a warm welcome when you step into a cafe and would like your coffee whatever you have served to you at the table of your choice by very friendly people who are very happy to see you - Then go to THE CORNER HOUSE CAFE in Sutton on Sea in the High street (the main road in) You can't get a proper meal nor a breakfast but you can get a very tasty snack or hand made by Shirley a cream and strawberry fruit scone! Or any other numerous other snacks that's in they're menu. I've never had such pleasant warm friendly and welcoming staff to serve me at out table before and I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND that you try this cafe if you're going to Sutton on Sea at all - if you have a doggie you can get a table outside and a big bowl of water for your doggy too. Your served outside as well as inside with your coffee or tea whatever your choice is. But whatever you do if you come here to Sutton even if its just for the day don't leave without visiting here!!!!!!

Comfortable, friendly and reasonable prices. Quite a busy little coffee shop. Dropped in just before closing time and it would have been easy to turn us away but they didn't. Very friendly and courteous waitress. Tasty cappuccino in an unusually small cup. Hence four stars rather than five. Will definitely visit again.

Horrible behaviour by staff!! Opened the door to this cafe, A lady from behind the counter came rushing over, I thought to help me with the door with my pushchair. Instead the lady was quite rude with her manor, speaking loud and stern telling us they dont allow pushchairs! The other customers immediately turned to look at my two children and I. After repeating herself the lady did say we could collapse the buggy but for us this wasnt feasible as baby would want to be crawling once out of the pushchair. I felt humiliated and embarrassed. As if we weren't good enough to be welcomed into their business. My 9 year old picked up on the ladys attitude, asking why we weren't allowed in. How sad for a child to feel that way. Shame on you! We are locals and wont be spending our hard earnt cash in these premises.

Really disappointed with this cafe. The welcome we received was less than welcome...we had barely made it through the door when the owner rushed to us to inform us that PUSHCHAIRS are NOT permitted. Rubbish! He clearly decided that rule himself as the establishment was big enough. The man was rude and unpleasant. We certainly will not be taking our business back there. I have been coming to sutton on sea since I was a child myself and have never heard such rubbish. This has always been a family place. Very sad to think that a baby was unwelcome.
