Corleone Restaurant in Merton

Very hit and miss. Had great experiences previously (maybe another owner/chef) but our first visit this year was a disaster. Pizza was stone cold, like freezing cold an inedible. I understand issues like this arise but asking for it to be replaced was a massive chore. We were hungry, food came out stone cold and I asked for it to be replaced. ‘She’ went off to talk to chef, five mins later was told she had to speak to manager who wasn’t there. Another 10 mins and i was told to order and pay for new meals and email the manager regarding refund. Like what the absolute pee take. Bearing in mind the untouched food was there to be swapped. We won’t be back. 17.20 for a 10 inch pizza is not cheap, £15 for a tiny pasta….. And the service is horrendous when you complain about the food! Avoid at all costs!!!! Head to Wimbledon where there are several impeccable pizzeria’s.

What a charming little restaurant! We had a wonderful dinner here with my family and the food was absolutely delicious. Great service , freshly cooked food and fare price for the generous portions . Their hand made pizza seriously the best in the town . Highly recommend place !

Ignore the reviews below that I genuinely think must be a deliberate sabotage attempt by a competitor. We’ve been regulars for two years and this is the best Italian food we’ve had outside of Italy. The four cheese crostini starter is out of this world, and both the pizza and pasta is reliably phenomenal. Our go to date night.

Unfortunately this was a poor experience. The staff weren’t very friendly or welcoming, the chairs are very uncomfortable, and the pasta I was served had zero flavour. There was also a commercial radio station playing which had regular adverts and competitions- not very relaxing! They also added a non-optional 12.5% service charge (they had scribbled out 10% on their template receipt!). Overall I’m afraid I can’t recommend going - you’d be better off just ordering a takeaway or cooking yourself. It’s a shame as the restaurant has potential- hopefully management can take on this feedback and apply some easy changes (eg have a more relaxing music playlist, welcome guests in a friendly manner, and change the chairs, as well as get the chefs to taste the pasta sauces before serving them).

A nice place, good. service. and. great pizza BUT the waiter did. not understand the order TWO. times It was a bit annoying to. say the least

We have visited Corleones quite a few times over the last few years and it is always very good. The pizzas are lovely and thin with delicious toppings and they have great desserts and tasty house red. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the main road but opens out to a lovely large room. The only criticism is that the restaurant is too bright in the evenings, a little darker with candlelight would make it much more atmospheric.

Service was average. Staff weren’t very friendly however the food tasted good! Atmosphere of the restaurant didn’t really scream out Italian in addition to this the price is a bit spenny.

Absolutely amazing Italian food! This place was recommended to us by friends! And it did not disappoint! Great Bruschettas, linguines amd pizzas! House wine just perfect too! Great little gem in Colliers wood! I would highly recommend! Staff was friendly and toilets were clean!

This restaurant is very special. Pizza’s are fantastic, the staff are wonderful and it’s great value for money. It’s a small entrance right opposite Colliers Wood tube and opens up into a little slice of Italy in South London. Must visit if in the area.

What a very pleasant surprise it was to find this restaurant right across the road from Colliers Wood tube station. From the outside it looked like it only did take away meals but this is certainly not the case. We ordered pizzas as they looked delicious when being freshly prepared in front of us at a pizza oven. There was a variety of pasta dishes available as well as other meat and fish dishes. Also, an acceptable wine list , Very helpful, polite staff made this a good evening out with our adult daughter. I’d certainly visit again when in the area.

This place it’s serving great pizza and amazing home made cakes. If you fancy something else there is always specials. Definitely will come back

Second visit here and it was as good as I remembered. Calamari well cooked and a decent portion, the Gnocchi was also very tasty. House white was really nice and Friendly staff makes it a great place to visit. Will be back...

Via Deliveroo, part of the order missing. Obnoxious person on the end of the phone told us it was not their problem (it was, they admitted it was their omission) and they would not send anything and that we should try deliveroo.

Tuesday night for three on the eat out to help out scheme. What a success. Moreish pasta and excellent Calzone. Wonderfully cooked pizza dough stuffed with ham, mushrooms and mozzarella with tomato sauce on the side. Delicious. Very friendly service despite the face masks. We will be back.

After arriving at our hotel from a long car journey from Scotland I looked up near by restaurants & chose to come here....What a great choice it was.....A very authentic style restaurant with an open kitchen with pizza oven....we all had 2 courses and drinks, was very relaxed with top notch cuisine. The following evening we decided to visit again, my 9 year old daughter was amazed with the pizza chef spinning the dough around in the air whilst preparing Pizzas, when we all ordered pizzas the waitress asked my daughter if she would like to make her own pizza, she was so excited. If there is a better pizza in London let me know as it was amazing & I've travelled to Italy many times. Once again huge thanks to you're whole team for an amazing evening.

Está Ubicado Justo frente al Metro de Colliers Wood. Los platillos deliciosos y bien servidos. La atención es muy muy buena, siempre amables y la comida deliciosa te hace querer volver. Y si estas cerca valga la pena ir. El tiramisú es verdaderamente delicioso.

Lugar fantástico para saborear auténtica pizza italiana. Además, está muy bien de precio. El personal muy amable. Puedes ver cómo hacen las pizzas los cocineros en un horno de piedra enorme. Las pizzas buenísimas y la masa sabrosa. Recomendable 100%. Mis hijos quedaron encantados viendo cómo cocinaba el cocinero (italiano) y además, cocinaron con él sus propias pizzas. Fue muy atento con ellos y nos hizo disfrutar mucho de la comida. Solo tengo buenas palabras. Muy recomendable

Fui con dos amigos el lunes por la noche, eran las 10. 35 pm y dijeron que el restaurante está cerrado a las 11 pm, tomamos asiento y la camarera vino con menús. Tan pronto como regresó para traer el pedido, dijo que desafortunadamente es tarde, que simplemente nos llevamos.¡Inaceptable! !

Tried this Italian at lunchtime for the first time whilst visiting area. Nice roomy restaurant and welcome. Appalling service probably due to a large table party celebrating and only one waitress.Although we were served drinks on arrival we had to wait 50 mins for our meal which was far too long. Ordered one of their specials from the board " Rigatoni" with beef, broccoli and cheese sauce which was rather plain and boring. However, the Lasagne and Pizza were very good.To compensate for our long wait, we were offered an extra complimentary drink each.Will try again in the future and hopefully far better service.

I could get a better meal out of a tin of Whiskers. When the bill come my partner refused to pay the service charge because the meal was so bad The staff couldn't even understand what we were ordering. Pathetic restaurant, pathetic staff, pathetic food.

Dónde empiezo. He intentado este lugar un puñado de veces ahora y cada vez que simplemente no golpea el lugar. El horno de pizza es muy impresionante, pero cuando toda tu pizza es un desorden, ¡es inútil tenerla! Todos los ingredientes simplemente se deslizan de la pizza y realmente es una pena. Sin embargo, el pan de ajo con queso que se cocina en el horno de pizza es un punto culminante, pero, siendo honesto, es prácticamente la estrella del espectáculo, ¡todo lo demás es una pieza de lado!

La pequeña joya de un restaurante, desde fuera, no parece mucho, sin embargo, es muy agradable por dentro. La comida era divina - porciones en el lado grande - el primer plato de pan de ajo para uno que mi madre ordenó fácilmente podría alimentar a 4! ! Tuve bruschetta que era muy sabroso. Ambos comimos pollo con champiñones y espinacas en salsa de crema que venía con deliciosas papas salteadas. El postre, por supuesto, tenía que ser el tiramisú casero, que de nuevo era una porción generosa, era el cielo puro, ligero, cremoso, simplemente divino. Así que, en resumen, la comida es deliciosa, el servicio fue fabuloso: si se aloja en el Holiday Inn, está literalmente a un par de minutos a pie y vale la pena la visita.

Just ordered 2 pizzas for delivery, they arrived within 20 minutes, still hot and they were absolutely delicious! Genuine neopolitan style pizza with a lovely chewy base and fresh toppings, we will be ordering again! Thanks Corleone this pizza really made my day!

Visited with my daughter and her husband who have just moved to Colliers Wood. We had a delicious dinner. All the food was freshly prepared and very tasty. Staff were friendly. We'll be back!

A little unassuming on the high street but it never fails to deliver great food at very reasonalbe cost. Lovely staff and great atmosphere - perfect for a larger gathering of family or friends

We love this Italian restaurant, the food is always really good - particularly the pizzas. The open kitchen, friendly staff and cosy bar make it a great place to eat.

It’s amazing little restaurant, the food is lovely and you can tell that is made from fresh ingredients. You maybe need to wait a little longer for the food but it’s absolutely worth it . Great atmosphere and Simona it’s great waitress , she is always remember us .

We have been coming here for years and have had many family celebrations here. We love it. The food is lovely, the atmosphere is great. Our son loves to watch his garlic bread cooking in the pizza oven and there is something on the menu for everyone. It's great to have an independent, local restaurant like this so nearby. The restaurant is spacious. The staff are helpful and attentive. The pizza chef, working in front of the ornate pizza oven adds authentic atmosphere to this setting. The menu is a wide one and the accompanying drinks menu provides a good range of wines, beers and soft drinks. We enjoyed the lasagne and the pasta salad followed by the range of ice creams.

Always need to find a nice italian when away.. this IS a nice italian.. food and wine was lovely.. nice big pizza oven makes them nice and crispy and the head of service is brilliant.. knew what we wanted to drink second visit... needs a few godfather pictures having that name bit well worth a visit.. or three !

Plain decor with homely charm. Visited twice on this business trip and will return. Reasonable variety. Best ministrone soup I’ve had in years. Great linguine with meat and tasty risotto special with chicken and chorizo. Service casual but reasonably quick. All together a comfortable meal away from home. Modest drinkable house wines.

I have been many times to Corleone and always enjoyed my food and stay. I mainly eat the Calzone and I recommend it. I live close by and I know that many locals like very much coming here.

Vi fik 2 pizzaer og 1 spaghetti... intet af det smagte af noget. Vi spiste vores mad i skæret af den mest skrækkelige loftslampe hvor lyset stod lige ind i øjnene. Ingen hygge eller lys på bordene. Minder om en kantine for håndværkere. Maden blev serveret af en tjener burde lave noget andet. Påtog et lunkent smil ved betaling, sikkert pga. Drikkepenge.

Esta noche estaba flojo y me arriesgué en Corleone. Fue una experiencia terrible. Parecía haber una pared contra la cual se sentaban los comensales. El servicio estaba por debajo de la norma y, por mucho que siempre quiera dar propina, esta noche no pude. La comida se comió solo por no comer durante 16 horas. Era comestible, de la misma manera que mi hija de 15 años sirve su "especial". Fue absolutamente sin gusto. Lo peor fue la falta total de pasión. Espero mucho mejor de buenos restaurantes italianos. Si estas pensando en ir? No, debe haber algo mejor en Wimbledon

This is an authentic Italian restaurant and the food was amazing. Great ambience and very friendly staff. Sadly we don't live in the area but will visit again when we have another trip planned.

We have struggled to find a great pizza restaurant and decided to give Corleone’s a chance. We were very pleasantly surprised initially by the decor. It has a nice ambiance. Soft lighting, nice bar area, great for an evening meal.

We visiting this place often. They have real italian pizza which tastes very different to Dominos and Papa Jones. Service is quick too.

Nos encontramos con un miembro del personal y nos llevaron a nuestra mesa en un restaurante no muy concurrido y un par de menús para los seis de nosotros, tuvimos que pedir más. El servicio era muy, muy lento. Estaban fuera del vino que queríamos, el italiano shiraz y nos quedamos con el Malbec, que estaba bien. Era justo a lo largo de casi 35 minutos antes nuestros pedidos fueron tomadas y luego 20 minutos de espera por la comida. Todos elegimos platos de pasta que estaban bien, pero un poco seca y recocida. Creo pizza habría sido una opción mejor. No nos molestamos con postre o café. 90 minutos para un curso, comida regular significa que no volveré.

Están aquí esta noche, era un grupo de 10. Primera vez aquí después de leer todas las críticas. La comida era increíble, había una larga espera para la comida, sin embargo, cuando llegó la espera mereció la pena. No estaba contento/camarera amable y romperse la factura fue una pesadilla porque se había hecho bebidas en uno, algo en otra, etc. Olvidó el cargo por servicio y venía cobrando a la mesa.

Been here with my family and the staff is polite, child friendly, the open kitchen is clean and tidy. Just expect a bit more flavour from the pizza considering the wood fired oven but it is ok;) starters on the other hand were amazing.

We always have a great experience at Corleone. The food is excellent, service very friendly and they are always welcoming. From the street it doesn't look the most enticing but once you go in the authentic Italian food will never disappoint. Highly recommended.

We always use this restaurant when staying in Colliers Wood. So convenient to the Tube and hotels. We have never been disppointed with the food or service. We tend to go early, which is when it is just getting going, by the time we have eaten the restaurant fills up, so do go and enjoy. Not expensive either.

... it is my local Italian place, and I feel that I am quite lucky to have Carleone just 5 minutes away as it is a lovely place to sit or if you prefer to have your pizza on the sofa - just to take it away. Food is really good, so far, my favourite pizza in London!

....I say that because initial impressions are a little different. It gets an excellent rating for superb food and great service. Would be happy to return!

Il proprietario, siciliano DOC, cortese così come tutto il personale. Posizione strategica...di frote la fermata della metropolitana Colleirs Wood ( Northen Line).

Han sido varias veces y la comida siempre ha sido perfecto. Arranque probado, pasta y pizza y todos ellos son de alta calidad y bien preparado. De muy buena calidad.

La comida no está mal. . . . La pizza es el plato discontinuas. . . Muy bonito pero evitar. acompañantes. El personal es muy bueno. Es demasiado caro para lo que te dan. No era normal. dirigido al otro lado de la carretera para comer en este lugar.

We used to eat at Corleone quite often. Unfortunately the pizza is not as good as it used to be. We would not recomment it anymore.

Oh my goodness if you are in Colliers Wood or even Wimbledon which has plenty of choice, I urge you to try Corleones, my absolute favourite starter is the beef carpaccio, it's excellent (and it's the automatic starter I choose whenever it's on a menu), also the garlic pizza bread is top notch! The pasta is good, but only that really. On the other hand the pizza is sensational I've never had a bad one. Not only that in my opinion it's the best pizza I've ever eaten anywhere! Their specials also rarely disappoint. Serving staff are also lovely, very sweet girls who are accommodating and always lovely to our little 1yr old. That's another thing it's almost always full of kids, we love that and always feel comfortable to take our very roudy and loud daughter! Which you just can't in some other restaurants. Love love love Corleones, if we ever move away from the area I swear we would come back just to eat here!

Eravamo alla ricerca di un posto dove mangiare vicino il nostro albergo (fermata Collier Wood). Siamo entrati e... sorpresa: pizza ottima con forno a legna e piatti italiani eccellenti. Prezzi modici soprattutto se confrontati con i ristoranti italiani nella City.

My cousin, who I hadn't seen for more than 5 years, and I, had supper here recently. We both chose fillet steak, with a pepper sauce, and salad. Top quality, and very generously sized steaks. The restaurant is very light, tables not too close, and excellent friendly service. I live in Argentina, but decided to choose a Chilean Merlot, which was very smooth. Highly recommended restaurant!

We ate here 3 or 4 times during our stay in London. The pizza and pasta was always delicious. The wait staff, especially Miss Beata, was always very kind and welcoming. It has a warm atmosphere as well which is very nice.

We saw good reviews on TripAdvisor and went. Good decision. The food is fabulous and the staff lovely. The house wine is highly recommended both red and white. Definitely worth a visit.

We went here after being told about it by the staff at Holiday Inn nearby.From the outside it looks empty and uninviting.But inside is a very good Italian restaurant with very helpful staff and a superb chef on show making beautiful pizzas and pasta dishes.

I am happy that in Colliers Wood you can find place like this. I am a regular customer, always happy to come back. The food is just delicious. Tried many different pizzas and pastas. I just love a horizo prawns. I can recommend this place to everyone. Great atmosphere thanks to the owners who always welcome you with the smile.

Not very obvious from the outside, but once inside of Corleone, it has such a fantastic feel to it. The service cannot be faulted, waitresses were very friendly and accommodating. Food was fantastic, and although I don't live in the areA, I will definitely be returning to visit again.

Restaurant is nice and cozy, not very obvious from outside because of a wide, empty lobby before the main restaurant door. Food is prepared fresh while pizza and bread are cooked in a massive stone oven. My arrabiata is superb, al dente and with just enough chilli-kick for me. House white wine is perfect with our oven fresh garlic bread. Price wise is as expected in this part of London with 3 mains, 2 orders of garlic bread, some olives and 2 glasses of wine and lemonade for £53+ and tip. A must go to dinner place when visiting this area. Staff has approachable attitude.

Best thing about this place was the local Wimbledon Brewery lager and olives. Definitely not authentic Italian. The food was bland and the Parmesan stolen from Pizza Hut. The lighting was too bright. Go somewhere else!!!

Dinner here on an overnight in London and read the reviews on TA before visiting. Was not disappointed. Eastern European staff attentive, wine list not too pricey and best of all the food. Garlic prawns and Salmon Al Cartoccio excellent.

Stayed at holiday inn next door, went for beer in pub then fancied a pizza having seen somebody walk past with a box.Staff very nice, chef asked me what I wanted and watched him make it whilst having a glass of house wine.The pizza was one of the best I've ever had!! Aunque nadie del equipo es italiano s come muy bien . Las pizza son muy buena, son de horno de piedra, no de leña. Tiene cerveza italiana, la Peroni. Los primeros platos son deliciosos. Como postre hay cannoli siciliani. El precio es de lo que normalmente se encuentra en Londres.

This is a nice place if you ignore the watery pizza which was not cooked well,the unfriendly girls from the staff and the fact they wipe the toilet doors and then the tables with the same clout.

Really good freshly prepared Italian food and good value to, certainly with a visit. There is a good selection on the menu and you can always tweak your meal a bit of needs be. Food is made fresh in the open kitchen area which also does take away pizza too. Although the entrance makes the restaurant look small it goes back a long way and opens up into a much larger area.

My litmus test of a good pizza is the crust which fell a little short. I look for a.pizza that could stand alone naked (the pizza, not me!) That said, the toppings were lovely with sauce and cheese blending to create a lovely and enjoyable experience. Just left the crusts.

This is a low-key local Italian restaurant, which I would recommend for families with small children. We have been quite a few times now, and the food is good and the staff are very accommodating and attentive. The pizzas are good quality, bakes in a firestone oven - I prefer the messicana (spicy and filling). The starters are also very nice. My husband normally has a pasta dish, which he enjoys. They are happy to make child-sized pizzas for the kids, with whatever toppings they have available. Beware - even though they are child-sized, they are still quite big! My two children under 7 can easily share one.Like some eating establishments popping up in the area, it is not trying to be trendy or gourmet. However, it is a reliable tasty Italian with good service.

Came here with my Mrs for a quick drink and quick something to eat, the food here is decent and reasonably priced, the girl waitress were quite friendly.

La pizza è ottima cosi come sono buoni i primi. Molto buona la carne. Prezzo giusto per quantità e qualità. Consigliatissimo
