I love the intimate space, lovely old school tableware, and obviously gorgeous food! They made it extra special for my friend’s birthday, both our waitresses were exceptional and the toasties are still the best toasties known to mankind and don’t miss the chips either!!!

An impromptu dinner stop resulted in a very pleasant dining experience. Kate did a fantastic job, and the hake of charcoal was perfectly done. Much to my surprise, the Old Fashioned was well prepared as well, even with a chronic shortage of good bourbons in London! A perfect spot for people watching.

I eat a lot of roasts on Sundays and this restaurant really has one of the best roasts ever. The chicken was succulent and charred to give it flavor. The roast beef was tender and juicy. The star must be the fantastic potatoes which were crunchy and yet simply yummy. And the cauliflowers with bread crumbs was simply amazing. The gravy was just right. And to top it all off, the service was great. Kudos to the team. A die die must try.

We recently visited Cora Pearl in Covent Garden and had a fantastic experience. The manager, Kate, crafted some incredible cocktails, was exceptionally friendly and funny, adding a great vibe to our visit. The entire team was friendly, particularly John and Hilário. The quality of the food and drink was outstanding, with the shared ribeye platter being a highlight. We will definitely be returning! thanks again Kate for making our evening.

A new venue for me prompted by an old school friend who has family connections with the owner. Handily placed for theatres and shopping in Covent Garden and ideal for me using Charing Cross station. We had a lovely table by the window with a most comfortable banquette in duck-egg blue fabric. The manager gave us a warm welcome as she recommended the tasty Schiehallion Craft Lager (£5.50 and named after a nearby Monro in Scotland). For my starter, I had Isle of Wight heritage tomatoes with yoghurt and basil (£11.50). Delicious sweet toms and just enough herby sauce to provide a contrast. The main of Blythburgh pork chop (£28.00) with shiitake, celeriac and mustard was very good and I liked that the meat was pre-cut into slices. However there was no doubting the real star of the show which were the amazing chips (£6.50). Six large rectangular beauties in a bowl so crisp on the outside but so buttery and meltingly soft on the inside. Perhaps the best yet or as that noted restaurant critic, Giles Coren, exclaimed after a visit - "these are the effing best chips in Britain". The manager kindly explained the process which is time-consuming and fiddly but well worth it. Total cost per person with 13.5% service charge was £68.00 and I am looking forward to a return very soon. A really good addition to my Covent Garden culinary boltholes.

This is fast becoming one of our favourite restaurants, this was our second visit and it was just as good as the first. Amazed the lovely Irish waiter remembered us! We had a table at the front of the restaurant, very comfortable and the food and service were both excellent. Cora Pearl has a good wine list which was well priced and the portion size is good making 3 courses easily manageable - the star of the show was the monkfish... Our friends, whose first visit it was, said they were looking forward to returning with family members. Well done Cora Pearl, hope to see you again soon.

Went here to experience Sunday Roast and it was fantastic! I had the sirloin with horseradish and my husband had the chicken with dill mayo which I recommend doing so you can have some of each. The sides were all exceptional. Yorkshire pudding, carrots, mixed greens, cheesy cauliflower and (drum roll) the potatoes! They were unreal, unlike any potatoes we’d ever had. We were told they take 18 hours to make! No wonder they’re so delicious. We didn’t have room for dessert. Reserve today!

We were lucky enough to have been given a very generous voucher for a meal at this restaurant from our sons for Christmas, and what a treat it turned out to be. I had the butternut squash soup, and it was quite possibly the best soup I’d ever had. It was velvety smooth and I ate it as slowly as I could, savouring every mouthful. My husband had the famous ham and cheese toastie, which he loved too. Our roast dinners were plentiful and delicious, and the roast potatoes lived up to the hype! Crunchy, fluffy and crispy. To die for! A small niggle was that the main courses could’ve been a bit hotter. Finally, although already completely stuffed, we had ‘milk and cookies’. Don’t let the rather misleading name of this dessert put you off. It was heavenly. I urge you to go to this delightful little restaurant, we loved it…and it cost us (with the voucher) the grand total of £9.87. Result!

Dinner for two. Given a table in the basement where it was hot and cramped. The waiters didn't really notice us: slow service. The food was ok but not exciting. The desserts are too big: you could easily share a crumble. Selected wine wasn't available so they offered two free half glasses/ but it wasn't freshly opened. I've been here three times but I doubt there will be a fourth.

We just happened to pick this gem on our way to Covent Garden. What a stroke of luck! They were very friendly as they welcomed us in. They checked in just the right amount to see if we had questions about the menu and if we wanted more water. The squash soup was delicious, as was the Ham and Cheese Toastie and the vegetables we ordered as a side. The Ham and Cheese Toastie was the star of the show! We didn’t have room to fit Chips, next time we will order them. We could hear others rave about them. This is a cozy little restaurant with a tiny cozy bar in the basement. A very welcoming place if you find yourself in the area!

Wonderful food and ambience. Pricey but worth the money, laid back staff and very very good food. I had cod and black lentils, delicious

Made the mistake of going into a cafe where there were no other customers. I think I now know why. Visited the premises in the Square. Latte and croissant, paid immediately by card, lukewarm coffee, stale croissant then on leaving was accused of not paying. They made a check of their records and voila, it seems I had. Quite embarrassing and won’t be back.

Previously known as Cellar Gascon. Not sure why they changed its name but c'est la vie. I love this place - been coming for over 20 years. Amazing wine menu - some real treats for the cognoscenti, at very reasonably pricing. Staff are very friendly too.

We came in for a couple of coffees and a pastel de nata. The quality of the coffee is excellent and the pastel de nata was delicious. Prices here are much lower than most high quality cafes.

Genuinely impressed with the quality of the food given some 600+ attendees at the event.
