Landlady couldn’t do enough. Amazing staff and atmosphere

Big ample car park. Welcoming staff. Good food & beer.

Disappointing experience , you cannot now sit where you like in the bar area but you are supposed to wait to be shown to a table. When we arrive hardly anyone in the bar area, asked if we could choose where to sit was told no and sit on a small pokey table. Better to just walk in and sit down like other couples did and get a nice table. The service was very slow over 20 minute wait for our food and we found other tables who sat down after us got their food before us. The food was bland and not that cheap. we used to enjoy coming here for lunch after doing a walk in the area, I am afraid this will be last visit, other pubs to try in future who may be more customer friendly.

Extremely friendly. Came in with my dog and the first thing they did was put a bowl of water down for her as it was warm inside and they didn't want her to over heat

Outstanding staff always willing and able to help. Makes you feel so welcome.

Great place for food and drink. Atmosphere is always nice and calm too.

Aspects of this pub have improved. Other aspects have tanked. For example, the weekly quiz is either cancelled at last minute or not advertised at all. If you can't manage a weekly quiz (or don't think there's a big enough crowd for it) why not do a monthly one? You can't advertise a quiz at 5pm and expect multiple teams to show up for 8pm. Give people some notice. Can't comment on the new kitchen. But I did try to order their munch boxes on Just Eat, and despite the kitchen being open, the munch boxes were unavailable to order (?). Maybe they were just busy. Not sure where all the good reviews are coming from - presumably they are either collecting their food or eating in person.

Service was very quick and the food was amazing. We will definitely visit again

In the past I've had to make complaints about the food but not this time it was excellent. Didn't have too long to wait for the meal, the staff were very helpful. The only comment is that it was noisy!

Had the Deluxe cheeseburger and the Chick burger, both really tasty and will definitely be back for food. Friendly helpful staff 😀

Food was great and always is, but the staff always go over and beyond; really friendly. We were served by Joe, but also the assistant manager spent some time chatting to us and promoting some events that were coming up that were of interest to us. Overall a great experience.

Have always visted the copt oak over the past 16 years, maybe longer and love the sports, karaoke nights, bands and that its across from my house so no taxis involved. The new landlords seem amazing and will be back again very soon. This time will try not to take someone else brekkie order!!

Called into the Copt Oak yesterday for lunch with friends Met the new Landlady Linda who was very nice and welcoming. Linda explained they have not yet started to do food but are preparing a new menu to start in a few weeks time. As well as a day to day menu they will be having a specials board with home cooked food on. I will definitely be going back to try the food out 😊

Very disappointed Sunday roast. Gammon was ham and beef was pre sliced sandwich beef. Carrots rock hard. Peas were good and roast potatoes. Leek sauce and very very thick gravy already put all over dinner. Childs chicken nugget meal was very nice

Just stopped in for a quick drink, we were able to charge our car in the car park. The new owners were so hospitable and friendly. Recommend a stop by!

Absolutely beautiful. Very busy but didn't take long to get served. All the waiters/waitresses were smiling and took time to answers questions. Particularly Ellie.

It was a really nice place with a great atmosphere and lovely decor. The staff were kind and helpfull. The food was delicious but I did feel incredibly sick after eating and spent a solid 20 minutes in the toilet about throwing up. I don't know if this was in direct correlation with the food but it was honestly a scran none the less. Despite my ill health I would recommend this place and eat there again.

We popped in for a Sunday dinner and were so pleased to get a table. The place was busy but it was a really nice 'bustling' atmosphere, we didnt feel rushed, just had a lovely relaxing sunday dinner. Even with the busy atmosphere the staff were friendly and seemed chilled, not stressed and happy to help people's tables as they were passing. We had the mixed roast- really good, all tasted freshly cooked and hot! We were served by Chris and Loretta and they were lovely- I would definitely be back and recommend The Copt Oak.

Went in and saw that they were only doing bar type food, more of a local than a place to eat out, so we left without ordering anything. Having read the reaction to my review I feel that I should add that nobody seemed at all interested in serving us, so the comment about being hardworking just didn't apply on the night we attended, did look like a good local that I would have loved when younger, so I have upgraded my review as it was not your fault that you were not what we were looking for.

We made an unscheduled stop as the day was running away with us so we hadn't booked upon arrival we were greeted by a young lady who said she would be with us in a few seconds as she was just dealing with another customer then a gentleman came and took us to a table with a menu he asked what drinks we wanted and went to get them when he came back a few moments later he asked if we were ready to order my husband still looking at the menu so he stood waiting until we said could he give us a couple more moments to this he vanished and never returned the young lady who first greeted us was rushing round and delivering fantastic service when she noticed we hadn't any food yet so she took our order the food was lovely and couldn't fault it the service from the gentleman who seated us let the visit down and if not for the young ladies service we would of left

Fantastic place and lovely staff. Food cooked perfectly and served quickly. Just a couple of problems when ordering drinks but nothing that wasn't fixed. A really good meal out with the family.

This is one of our favourite places to eat. Lovely freshly cooked food including Vegetarian and Vegan at reasonable prices and served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. James and his team work hard to ensure you have a great time with a professional and friendly service.

We were there for a wake after a family funeral, the buffet they did was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely call in for a drink when we are in the area again.

Came in with my little boys for juice after playing in park. Had a lovely welcome. Really nice atmosphere. Also very clean including toilets. We can't wait for the kitchen to open 😊

Good food at a good price. I came just after the lockdown and they had good safety in place . The lad behind the bar called Tom was very nice, welcoming and went out of his way to make our experience good. We’ll be coming back

Usually pop in here for something to eat when visiting mum. Ive had different meals and they've all been great this time we had carvery, plenty on the plate at a price which is family friendly. Staff are super friendly and very helpfull.

Horrid. A bunch of half-cut mature adults shouting and whooping at the top of their voices. Tv's and a sound system set far too loud. Why you need 4 tv's in one small area is uncertain and a person legally classified as deaf would be able to hear it. If you want an unruly creche for adults, this is your place. Oh, and on a sunday they ran out of food well before the 4pm stated inside and well short of the 6pm advertised outside. Best avoided if you want to have a pleasant social drink. Or food.

Great carvery in pleasant surroundings. Note the car park charges after 2 hours! A little noisy when sports on the TV but not a major problem. Friendly and efficient staff.

Terrible service. Went for a birthday meal last night. Was a table of 7 and was the only ones eating. Food was 40 minutes getting sent out and was cold. Staff never checked on us and advised of a delay. Just standing around chatting at the bar.

Clean friendly but.... Me and a friend went yesterday had a all day breakfast. The toast was anaemic the bacon was hardly cooked cheap fatty streaky bacon. Had to wait a good 45 minutes before we had our food brought to us. Could of done better myself. After 2.30pm it started getting very noisy groups of young lads coming in watching the THREE TV screens, football and playing pool. More of a sports pub! If you're looking for somewhere for nice food, nice atmosphere, or even somewhere to bring the kids I wouldn't recommend. Disappointing as this is our local pub, we were so happy after the refit a couple of years ago but its going down and down. I'd like to recommend it but can't! ☹

Spend a lovely, christmas meal, evening here last night. The food was hot and tasty and the service was brilliant. Don’t hesitate to pay a visit.

We have been going to the Copt Oak for over 2yrs. Nearly every Sunday for a Carvery. We have been today. The service & the Food are excellent. We had lovely food & drinks. I've had my beer stolen twice! The staff here don't seem to mind the extensive, and blatant use of drugs. I've been shortchanged at the bar a lot. In short it's like going back to medieval times.

Do not eat here the service and food this weekend do not warrent any stars.. I have never seen so many people complain send food back or refuse to pay. The waiting staff disappeared into the kitchen for considerable amount of time making wonder if there was even a qualified chef or them trying to cook. The kitchen should have been put on a limited menu

Just had really nice meal hereat lunchtime with my husband, brother and sister in law.We all had different choices from the menu and mains and sweets were all cooked and presented beautifully. Young man serving us and the chef so polite and really made our lunch very pleasant. Thank you.

A run of the mill pub, nothing special, nicely decorated pub, with ok food and drink selection. There are better locally (the Dovecote for instance) that sit in a similar price bracket but offer better value for money.

Lovely roast dinner! First time I've been here, due to a recommendation from a friend. And can tell you I will be returning!!! Nice selection on the menu and very clean and clear menu. Staff are caring and helpful. Very accommodating for all age groups, certainly family friendly. There are some local shops nearby if that's helpful for anyone.

Very poor This was my first visit and will be last it appears they were not serving food that night because it was a pub squiz night It would have been nice to seen a notice to that effect outside.

Great pub lovely food staff really welcoming will definitely visit again

Just moved into the area and this pub is a 5 min walk was surprised to find it busy in a Wednesday evening. Really nice atmosphere and was made to feel welcome by the regulars. It happened to be quiz night so we had a go and came 2nd good result. Really enjoyed our unplanned evening out and they serve very nice wine so that's a bonus.

Good place to eat food good . The only thing wrong were the glasses were strained and looked dirty. I have worked a bar and washed glasses and kept the glass washer clean.
