Cooplands in East Riding of Yorkshire

I visit Couplands weekly in Hornsea,the staff are very pleasant ,the food is ok,the only thing I can really say that needs to be changed is ,the tea is always only Luke warm,and doesn't taste good,but all in all we can't fault them.

Was served in a Hull Cooplands by an ultra polite young man who didn't look as if he was being forced to work there . Fast forward to Hornsea, an oxymoron experience to say the least. No atmosphere, staff act as if someone has forced them to be there, slow. The list is endless to be honest Oh by the way Heron sells all the pies , cheese straws and sausage roll in their freezers, put them in the oven yourself

Anyone who has been to a Cooplands before knows what to expect! Everything you can think of bakery 🧁 wise is probably there. Sandwiches, hot (which is what I popped in for) and cold ones too in their own bread cakes. Lots of fab cakes and buns, etc, etc! 🎂 Only points to bring to your attention are 🥚 eggs only come as mini omelette and the hash browns were a bit soggy but the price good at £3.50 in a large bap. 👍

It was 4pm, husband wanted a certain sandwich and was abruptly told if it wasn’t on the shelf he couldn’t have one. We were the only customers there and there is a big poster saying ‘sandwiches made to order’, lazy and rude.

Well I visited Hornsea for a daytrip with my mum on Sunday and we saw the strawberry tarts pictured on the bakery so we decided to get them - unfortunately they had sold out so we bought eclairs instead which I must say were divine - as I am taking the kids to Hornsea in a couple of weeks and I really want some of those strawberry tarts - I emailed the company to see if they would have 5 available when I go back and they responded to me and confirmed they have especially ordered the 5 in for me - cant wait for holiday and cant wait for the cakes...thank you Cooplands very good job :-)

I went today and staff were welcoming being nice

Three attempts at a cheese and ham salad with salad cream and with no tomatoes, server was taken aback by the fact I told her she’d made it wrong. It was an absolute chore for her to take the tomato out and put salad in even on the third attempt I had to just leave with a ham and cheese sandwich with no salad cream.

Didn’t have any baguettes so had a sub roll which was dry The person serving me was more interested in talking to her work colleagues

Love the toffee and chocolate danishes. Always busy in here. Lovely service very happy

I bought a hot chocolate and it was just like dish water absolutely disgusting for £2

Went in today, felt like I was invisible! Staff served person in front of me then proceeded to chat amongst themselves, went into the back, came out and didn't even acknowledge me. Old man stood behind me with just breadcakes and the right money. Just carried on talking and didn't even look up. SO RUDE! NEED MORE STAFF TRAINING. Went into the card shop next door and people also complaining about coop lands staff too!

Staff need to be made aware of hygiene regarding flies on the cakes and should act when customers make them aware and not say "there's nothing we can do about them when the door is open," as the young man did today. Cooplands just lost a considerable order .

Called for 3 sandwiches and a steak bake, waited in que for 35mins, then took another 10 mins being served, while one behind the counter and a another walking around apparently doing a stock take which they said is more important than serving customers! People walked out I would have too if I didn't have hungry children! Go elsewhere for quick service and to top it off when we opened the sandwiches the order was wrong 🙄

Great food at great prices staff friendly too

Hornsea Coupland's 2:30pm Sunday 25 June 2023. 4 staffthere. 1 cleaning the window stands, 2 talking and just 1 young lad serving. 6 customers waiting ."Poor service", I waited 5 minutes then went to the Co-op. I have worked at Spar for many years so I know the customer is not 'always right,' far from it, also I am not impatient. A lady in front of me said she was only waiting for a bottle of water but had been completely ignored by the 3 ladies. again "Poor Service" M. Riley.

Great cakes, bread and pastries, daily. Sandwiches and coffee too.😋

I often get the meal deals from here. The staff are always polite and friendly. The meal deal is great value, fresh, tasty and substantial. My only gripe is they’ve changed the cream doughnuts, they used to be fresh and crispy topped with granulated sugar, now they are bready with powdered sugar… no different from the lacklustre supermarket doughnuts. Shame, as they used to be delicious. Other than that gripe, I’m a big fan of Cooplands especially the Hornsea shop!

If anyone is looking forward to their 4.95 pork pie then I'm sorry ,it is the worst pork pie I've ever had ,thick pastry and hardly any filling,it's a rip off ,what's happening to good quality food

On the whole this is a great place to visit for a bacon butty, however today had the most miserable server who couldn't crack a smile, your order was virtually thrown at you. My first bad experience here

Went in Yesterday lunchtime ;10th September, hardly any sandwiches left so we asked if they could make some for us. We were met by surliness a distinct grudging attitude from the young girl with short brown hair who seemed annoyed that we had dared ask!! She made the sandwiches and then disappeared into the rear of the shop leaving me with an incomplete order (snack as part of the meal deal) I asked an older lady and when she asked the young girl she grudgingly put my sausage roll in a bag and slammed it down on the counter. This is a holiday resort and she should use some customer service. I work in retailing and I would never treat a customer in that manner. Probably she should rethink her choice of job!!!

Today had the worst bacon sandwich I’ve ever eaten (actually threw most of it in the bin) And a disgusting cheese pasty and the staff are very uninterested.

4 people behind the counter only 1 serving with a long queue and a waite

I called to purchase bread rolls also a cream doughnut and cream vanilla slice. I double checked with the assistant it was cream and not custard (they were next to each other) as I do not like the custard ones, when arriving home I had been given a custard slice after confirming it was cream. As you can imagine I was not best pleased as I paid for something not asked for. A good bakery though.

The staff are helpful and friendly always have a big choice of cakes /buns, the sandwiches are made while you wait so everything is fresh, egg, or meat, and salad fillings to suit your taste,and the meat pie's are brilliant this cooplands on holderness Road in hull

Ignore the moaning wezzies .... this is a great bakery with fantastic staff, good food & service at a reasonable price. COVID-19 precautions are excellent ... thank you Laura, Ellie-May and the team

Ended up not purchasing from here. There were five staff members standing around ignoring me, then one turned round and called the lady behind me over. When served I asked for a large prawn salad, she said they have no large. So I asked for a normal prawn salad, she said no prawns. She said she'd have to weigh some out for me and defrost it if I wanted it and it would take 10 minutes. I decided to leave due to the poor service.

Cheese straws yummy.. cheese onion slices bland.. cheese and ham lovely
