Banging fry up best I've had in Leigh for a while.

This is a great Cafe. The food was lovely, good price and hot! The Cafe was extremely clean and their staff are so friendly. We will definitely be back.

Lovely cafe, I enjoy having a pre-work coffee there several times a week and the staff are so friendly and make me feel very welcome . Had a take out lunch last week, sausage and egg sandwich and it was fantastic!

Fab breakfast, amazingly cooked breakfast steak, wonderful staff, couldn’t recommend anything more for a birthday breakfast, amazing hygiene and very attentive but not overly attentive.

By far the best breakfast in Essex. The staff are always friendly and highly attentive and the food is consistently good. I regularly come here for breakfast with my colleagues and will continue to do so.

If you fancy an all day breakfast then this is the place to go. The menu had a large choice and the portion sizes are generous. Staff were friendly and place seemed clean and welcoming.

This is a regular breakfast stop for us, the breakfast is superb with good ingredients and fantastic coffee, the service from the girls is superb and the inside is clean and tidy.

I love trying new cafes but OMG ive found my favourite in Essex. The food in this place is exceptional and so fresh! The place is warm... the staff are the kindest and most welcoming. For a clean and healthy breakfast or dinner this is the one! Cant recommend this enough... im thrilled ive found it and now have a new local!

Ths place normally perfect. Today unfortunately bacon overcooked and dry. I also asked for avocado which was not ripe.

This is a lovely little café that I may not have noticed if my friend hadn’t taken us, but it is now a café I won’t forget! It is quite small but wasn’t packed or stuffy like some smaller places can be, and there is tables outside as well as inside. It has a lovely atmosphere, they have the option to take away food and drinks which is helpful if it is too busy. The staff were attentive and came to us to ask if we wanted drinks pretty much straight after we sat down, as well as coming back for food orders in good time. The food also arrived in good time and there was four of us and quite a variety! There was loads to choose from on the menu (breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches, desserts). Plenty of options if you’re looking for smaller appetisers as well as starter meals or main meals. And there is a great variety of of drinks (soft drinks, tea and coffee, milkshakes and smoothies). Also plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options. The food was all cooked excellently and the plates were a decent size - we left feeling nice and filled and it didn’t even cost us too much. We even got complimentary mints which not many cafés do, it’s a tiny but lovely touch to the experience. I live a couple of hours away from Leigh-on-Sea but I’m glad this is near my friends house as we will definitely be coming here again next time!

After numerous visits to this cafe we were once again amazed at the standard of food and service. During a busy Sunday bid morning we didn’t have to wait long for our order to arrive. The steak protein breakfast was amazing and my partners garlic mushrooms and feta was equally tasty. Can’t recommend enough.

Driven past this place a hundred times so decided to pop in for a post-workout snack. Visited at lunchtime and it was almost full, testament to the food served here. My partner went for the Berry Smoothie which was served cold and packed with fruit, and I had the Chicken Salad (extra chicken breast). The salad was excellent and very generously portioned. The pomegranate seeds on top were a nice touch too. Situated right on the London road, there are a few free parking spots right outside but there’s also plenty of parking available along the side roads. The cafe is clean and nicely decorated, staff are friendly and attentive and the food is very good. Only 4 stars because to charge £5 for an extra chicken breast is ridiculous.

Spartan scramble great start to the day, full of mixed flavours

Visited here for a bite to eat and ended up with a full English breakfast, possibly one of the best I've had. Quick and friendly service and the place was clean... I would recommend to friends & family.

Seen this for a while but not used, popped in for a takeaway bacon sandwich and a coffee recently, and it was very nice and you avoid the price tag of the broadway!! Staff are friendly

My boyfriend showed me this cafe in 2020, such a good menu with a lot of healthy choices. The food is amazing and the staff are wonderful, we always get the best customer service! Would defo recommend as this is the only cafe we enjoy going to. X

Came here for the first time today and this is definitely best breakfast I've had in long time, proper ingredients used lovely smoked bacon, sausages were really good along with everything else really good !!

First, and last, visit. So busy on a Sunday mid morning that we had to wait for a table. This popularity was surprising in view of the disappointing food. The full breakfast included two miniature fried eggs, sausages of such tasteless poor quality as to be inedible and worst of all the fried bread was full of fat having apparently been deep fried! Tea was a tea bag on a string in tepid water. We left still hungry.

Can't fault it. Full English obviously. Banging. Loved it.

Super clean and staff very friendly. Good menu options but lasagne was like eating a mouthful of baked mozzarella. Could maybe do with more wine and a different cheese, or less cheese. Otherwise was good. Mushrooms and curly fries were lovely. My partner had the steak and onion sandwich and said it was good.

Went here for a Birthday breakfast, what an amazing menu. Good food at a good price.

We visit every few weeks for weekend brunch and the food is routinely excellent; it's freshly cooked to order as you'd expect, so you may have to wait at busy times. You can't go wrong with the all-day breakfast options and I'd also recommend the breakfast omelette. My wife loves their tuna mayo and red onion sarnie which has really fresh bread and about an entire can of tuna inside! Service is friendly but unmasked. Tables are reasonably spaced inside plus there are 4 tables on the terrace outside. I like Leigh Broadway but the eateries up there are expensive and posey so if you like tasty good-value unpretentious grub, stop off at Continente instead.

My favourite cafe in Leigh-on-sea. The food is incredible and the service is always outstanding! Nothing was too much for the waitresses who constantly had a smile on their face, the owner is extremely friendly and always comes to say hello and see how we are! Would recommend this cafe to absolutely everyone whether you’re looking for a full English breakfast, light bites, a burger, pasta or anything in between!

Very disappointed in my last visit I actually sat with a huge London/ European foodie/blogger who is pregnant. She ordered a peanut butter and honey smoothie and it was presented with warm milk( disgusting) she actually went inside to ask for some ice and when the waitress could be bothered after 9 minutes she banged the glass on the table with a terrible attitude. I was rather embarrassed by the powdered smoothie with warm semi skimmed milk and the waitress I raved about being so pleasant was very unprofessional. Sadly I wont be going back. ( by the way the cook/chef should ask you if want oregano and garlic on the fried breakfast before as I'm allergic to thyme and oregano. Potentially a place to go for a pretentious breakfast.⁸

I have been visiting here a few times since it opened. The food is extremely high quality for a cafe and the waitresses are very efficient and friendly.The reason for the lower review score unfortunately is the apparent use of the cafe as a smoking bolt-hole for the staff from over the road at the car wash. There is a constant stream of people crossing the road to use the toilet, take drinks from the fridge or to smoke. It detracts greatly from the feel of the place which is a shame as, otherwise, it's excellent

If you haven’t had a full English here you are missing out.. best cafe in Leigh! Nothing is greasy or too much trouble if you are fussy about your breakfast (like me!) also recommend the omelette.. or anything on the menu! Steak is always cooked to perfection. Can’t recommend enough. There is lots of vegetarian options as well.

Köstliches Full English Breakfast

It is my second visit for breakfast, probably the best breakfast I have had in the area, lovely produce sausages really nice quality and the black pudding was lovely. I would highly recommend it you will not be disappointed, plus half price in Aug on mon tues Wednesday

We visit the continente every few weeks. The food is great with high quality ingredients (our favourite is the full English breakfast). The staff are friendly, especially the owner, and the food is good value too.

Really enjoyed my Breakfast this morning. All Covid social distancing in place. Felt very safe and comfortable. Staff are always so friendly.

As my usual cafe of choice was closed I decided to try Continente instead. I had the English breakfast and enjoyed some elements of it more than others. The sausage and bacon were excellent however the mushrooms were not cooked enough for me and were a bit watery rather then buttery. The bread was barely toasted and looked anaemic, everything else was fine although it was more expensive than the equivalent breakfast at another nearby cafe which I prefer. I also wasn't keen on the guys from the car wash opposite using the place like their staff room and constantly going in and out to smoke and calling across the road to their work mates. On this basis I would go somewhere else in future.

We decided to go there after checking the reviews and to be honest it wasn't disappointing.I ordered the vegetarian breakfast which was super nice although I doubt my sausages were vegetarian..My husband had the vegetarian pizza ;that was amazing!!!My son had a ham and cheese sandwich,he didn't like it he said the ham tasted "funny".My husband tried it and said the sandwich indeed had a smokey flavour,it could've been the cheese or the ham.The sandwich looked nice and it came with coleslaw and salad on the side!!The staff was nice, professional and helpful.I liked it inside as it was warm, the decor was modern I would suggest maybe a spring clean!The cutlery was clean which I don't see it very often.Overall very good service!!We will be back again!!

Fabulous experience at this cafe Brilliant Brekfast

Away from the more rural Leigh high street and on the busy main road I had not expected quite such pleasant food stop. A very contemporary bright, open dining area with kitchen on full view; we were met by a young waitress who immediately cleaned our table and presented the menu and took our drinks order. The menu sounded very tempting - the usual 'full English', 'half English' and smaller plates with much more for lunch or bigger appetites. We had the half size and full Monty and were not disappointed; beautiful sausages, eggs cooked just right, decent granary toast (option) - all delicious, washed down with coffee and tea. Great food, highly recommended but be prepared to park-up and walk!

My wife and I popped in Sunday morning and were greeted by the owner and head chef .the girls are also friendly and attentive. The food was cooked perfectly well presented and prepared. .You must come here to this little gem as they make you feel welcome and relaxed

An unearthed treasure on my doorstep and a haven of refuge for the local charming Albanian community I gather! Normally I just stop off for a rocket-fuel coffee but returning from a long night shift in London plus a dire A13 drive directed me to the ‘fat boys’ breakfast with decadent chips on the side! Good coffee - even though on this occasion served in a sundae glass prompted strainge looks! Now appears to have a cosmopolitan retinue of loyal customers - perhaps a Sunday roast might be a good idea? Thank you - Zani, Klaude, Rhiana and Adriana......

Great service all round food is excellent

My eldest son had a couple of spare hours between leaving school at WHSB at 4pm and having to be back at 6pm for drama rehearsal. Not long enough to go home to Rayleigh through rainy dark miserable traffic so as a family we thought we’d meet him and go out for a bite to eat nearby.

Friendly with very good food at reasonable prices. We go regularly and recommend you give it a try.🍽
