Lovely food and cosy, stylish restaurant. As a group of 4 we were given a choice from the set menu at £45 each. This worked out more expensive than ordering the same items on the a L carte menu! Would have liked a choice of which menu to choose from. Also stated outside that there was a pre theatre menu, but once inside, it was not offered. Food delicious but vey expensive.

I honestly cannot believe the end to the meal we had; the food and drinks were ok, and the setting is very pretty, but after some very sub par service, and rude comments from the waiters a member of our party asked for the discretionary service charge to be removed, and said we would instead leave a cash tip. Instantly the staff blew up- shouting and screaming at us, referring to my toddler who had been exceptionally quiet (we were lucky that day!!) by saying “we let your disgusting baby in here without saying anything”. The reaction was aggressive and entirely uncalled for, and just incredibly rude. Such a shame and definitely ruined our night.

We weren’t impressed with the service so we politely asked to remove the service charge and they started shouting at us, cursing us. I have never in London had an experience anything like this. Would never go back.

The service was good and the food excellent. Because there were more than four of us we had to choose from the group menu, however there was a good choice of dishes for the three courses. The group menu is £45 per person plus a 12.5% service charge. I had the “Caprese with buffalo mozzarella and cherry tomatoes with basil pesto” or starter; “Handmade tagliatelle pasta with slow cooked beef ragu and peas” for main course and “Traditional handmade tiramisu” for desert. All of the food was excellent on flavour and presentation. Portions were not huge but that was okay for me as I wanted to make it to desert. My only comment would be there was slightly too much chocolate powder on the tiramisu – which my fellow diners agreed on. My only comment on the venue was that it is acoustically hard and there was kitchen equipment which made it quite noisy. However an excellent dinner.

An utterly astonishing experience, and not in a good way. The food and setting were both lovely and we enjoyed the night and even decided that we would come back with other friends. When the bill came, it was very expensive for what we had had. We noticed that a £15 service charge had also been added, which we felt was asking a bit much as we had only ordered one bowl of pasta each (there were just three of us) and had one glass of wine, so the service had been extremely minimal. We politely asked if this could be removed, intending instead to leave a cash tip of an amount of our choosing. The owner responded by telling us, very angrily, that because we had made this request, we would never be welcome there again. In other words, we were barred. We were so shocked by this that we initially thought he was joking. It was wildly unprofessional, offensive and upsetting. On the plus side, I have been left with a funny story to tell friends about the time I was barred from a restaurant, something I never thought I'd say! I would have been angry if I wasn't so bewildered. Astonishingly rude and misjudged, the owner really let himself down.

A family visit for a celebration was really spoilt by the overpriced 3 course meal @£45 per head plus 12.5% service charge! The quality of some of the dishes was not up to standard especially the Ragu. This should have been rich and unctuous and not have frozen peas in it. The prawn starter was lacking any herb flavours just a soggy green breadcrumb coating. The one saving grace was the panna cotta which was excellent. Needless to say the restaurant was not full and I’m not surprised, I won’t be going again. Shame.

Birthday meal, not massive, but quality is top drawer and you leave comfortable. We cannot recommend highly enough, service is excellent, food is good and the price…. Well you get what you pay for… and it is London, and very quirky… will go again, and again… guys, keep it up, it’s a gem of a place :-)

Speculative reservation after seeing Punchdrunk round the corner. Small, intimate venue with delicious home made food. Friendly and attentive staff made for a memorable dining experience. Would visit again. Recommended

Rude owners and staff. Having a small restaurant doesn’t necessarily make you exclusive. The ragù was pretty acidic and overpriced for the quality. Staff aren’t concerned whether you enjoy it and are simply defensive when stated. We watched other instances of abrasiveness to other customers who wanted to order a selection of mixed dishes and were refused and left. Thankfully the lovely pizza squad guys were still in the square by the time we left and we took a super couple of pizzas and chorizo bread home for a nice evening

I really cannot understand the reviews regarding the staff?? - they have been nothing but exemplary in all aspects, humorous, knowledgeable and accommodating!. Oh and the food is damm good as well. Considering the size of this establishment, the quality, ambience and delivery is perfect. We live within visual distance of this place, so are regular visitors, but it has been perfect every time, so please ignore the naysayers and visit this charming little restaurant. Oh, and remember it's a restaurant, and NOT a bar! - there are plenty of those in Woolwich.

Don’t bother. Our group of 4 on a weekend night were unpolitely invited to “only eat substantial meal”. I. E the owner decided our one pregnant (and nauseous) member HAD to include a main as well as a starter and drinks. He said this was policy. It isn’t. It’s also not in their terms and conditions. If you want to be insulted and be dictated to as to how you spend YOUR money (and it ain’t cheap ) go ahead and be a fool. Also, on this site unlike their own they have small print that dictates if you have a group of 5 you have to have the £39. Set menu. Which is very very limited! Enjoy your forty quid two choice lunch. And fool and his money…..! And also you won’t get a nice five seat due to the layout. Go to kailaish momo or the guardhouse instead. They value customers. This two bit car crash operation think they’re above their customers. Not even operating out of woolwich gives allowance for that. Plenty of fantastic local restaurants.

The only restaurant in woolwich that is worth visiting. The food is always fresh and very well made and I’d recommend this highly. Ok

We visited here before and it was lovely, the waiter Andrew was attentive and extremely courteous. This time the service was appalling. The waitress had an attitude more suited for a prison canteen rather than a high end restaurant. We booked a table as we were celebrating. Arrived there at 9:30 pm (with a third of the restaurant empty), sat at the table ordered, and then we were told we "have to have a main". We politely declined, saying that we have no problem to drink for a considerable amount of £££ (so that the restaurant doesn't go under) or move at the bar. The waitress, after being completely abrupt and unpleasant called for the manager, who stated that on this occasion "he'll make an exception", but insisted that normally one would have to order a main. Absolutely disgusting, there were 3 free tables. I might be inclined to understand this attitude if the place were full and there was a queue at the door, but not the case tonight. We had our starters, desert and drinks and left after 40 minutes, so that we don't hold the table of their precious 1/3 empty restaurant at 10 pm. The food is ok, but such a shame for the attitude of the staff. We will never step in this place again.

From the beginning to the end, everything is perfect or so. One can notice the cooking is homemade from fresh ingredients so that everything is tasty. My friend told me the slow cooked pork was the best one he ever had and I could tell the same about the green ravioli I was served. There’s a real professionalism and a real generosity in the making from the moment you enter the restaurant and the moment you enjoy your meal. The team is excellent. Not that being French (with some Italien blood somewhere) is a trusted brand, but we do like a great cooking work and this restaurant is one of them respecting the clients... and that’s something you can only witness in gastronomic country inns or gastronomic restaurants when in France. The contrast and the parallel are always educating and have meanings. Great work Con Gusto and thank you for excellent service and cuisine!

This is certainly my best recommendation for fine dining. This beautiful and cosy restaurant is set by the river and can be accessible by the Clipper, which will make the evening even more especial. They also have some nice offers for earlier bookings!

Tucked away in Woolwich Arsenal right next to the Thames clipper stop, this place takes some beating. The atmosphere, staff and service are all excellent and generally better than the tired venues in west London. Good wine selection and excellent food. A very unique setting.
