Comptoir Libanais in Kensington and Chelsea

I liked breakfast, but I did not like dinner. The food lacks some elements that give it a taste, such as salt or the taste of grilling, which is known in Lebanese food. Bread, unfortunately, is only one bread, even if there are more than 3 people on the table. If you need more bread, it will be charged. There is no ketchup. The price is somewhat high.

What a great middle eastern dining experience. Great food, variety of drinks, welcoming staff, fast efficient service.

That star is only for Mara, actually 5 for her but its not just that, thanks for her service and kindness. We sat there with my 9 year old daughter,i have ordered two aperol spiritz for myself as it was some kind of happy hour, 2for15pound, and they brought both of them together, and another waitress girl suddenly asked if it is for my daughter! Really?!! How thoughtless and silly question is this!! She was so rude, didnt even apologised for her bad attitude but Mara did, lots of times. That anaother waitress girl really made day bad! Never ever going to visit there again! And if someone from management reading this, pls take this thing seriously!

Extremely busy which is a typical day here. The Steak Skewer is excellent but you have to get there early, seems to be very popular as they had run out on my first visit l. When it's warm and sunny you will have wait for a seat outside. Inside is quieter and you don't feel like you are in a goldfish bowl. I had the mixed grill and it was perfect, well cooked and presented. I'm going back on Monday

Blown away overall. Great Lebanese food! (and yes I have been to Lebanon) Nice chill atmosphere and attentive staff. Couldn't fault this visit and price was pretty reasonable c.£70 for 3 people.

Would have been better if they took our word for it when we said we hadn't ordered something and we were charged for it. They apologised and rectified it immediately. Not too thrilled with the fact that it's halal and serves alcohol.

Disappointed in quality of food. Not flavoursome, authentic Lebanese food at all and expensive for what we ate. The breads seem to be from a packet and were the same as starter meze sharing platter and again on wraps- which weren’t wraps but food on top of a thick bread! We had falafels which were tasteless and dry. Won’t be going back to eat as it wasn’t an enjoyable meal. Bland and inauthentic. Staff were very nice and attentive and the restaurant is nicely decorated but food a complete letdown sadly.

Normally lebanese cuisine is go to when you want something simple but nice, I hardly ever was disapointed by it. However...this restaurant exceeded expectations to how bad food can be. My friend and I visited restaurant this evening and were very disappointed by the quality of food. For starters we had mixed meze, it had big puddle of water from salad in the middle, so it soaked all nibbles, food didn't taste fresh, the presentation was awful. So we thought we will save the evening by ordering tagines. So if you are expecting tagine to be this delicious, juicy meat cooked in clay pot, you will be disappointed again. The tagines came in cold clay plates, were luke warm. I had lamb tagine that was so so, however my friend had lamb cofta tagine, it looked and tasted like something that came out of animal's stomach. We both were quite put off by it, my friend had to return her plate. The waiter was apologetic, took the order for new dish, however, she waited for 30 min for food to be brought to the table. Very very disappointing experience.

Staff is gentle, location is nice specially in evening like this that you can eat outside. Food is ok, nothing spectacular.

Great Lebanese tapas place. Really lovely

We came here at Christmas time and we loved it. The atmosphere was lively yet cosy and intimate. Beautiful decor and absolutely delicious food. We had lots of different hot mezzes to share and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Highly recommended!

Such great breakfast! Wide variety of food in the menu, pretty atmosphere and very helpful staff.

It's a great place for eating. Food was delicious and colourful. Staff is very nice.

The portion of tagine lamb was ridiculously small. It was also obviously heated up in the microwave and definitely not worth £17. 3 people 1 main each (£17 each) 1 halloumi and figs (£9) 1 portion of (frozen) fries (£4.75) 1 bottle of not-good-quality house wine (£26) + 12.5% service charge = £37 pound each for embarrassing mediocre food

Don’t know about the food, didn’t have a chance to eat as I was ignored for 25 minutes and nobody came to me even when I mentioned that I am waiting for about 20 minutes ))) eye contact doesn’t work also )

Stay away!! they charged 90pounds on my debit card on top of a 9,4 pounds bill for two coffees!!

Reasonable places to eat around Sloane Square are hard to come by. We've never had a duff meal here. This chain is brilliant for vegans and vegetarians too. I'd strongly advise to book particularly at weekends.

The worst coffee I have ever had, we ordered 4 Mocha, it was made by stinky goat milk and tasted disgusting.

Food was very tasty. One of our server was a little rude. But some were good. Overall, we enjoyed the food.

Food was okay. However the portions are not so big, I had to take a 2-person shared mezze to be ~full. Was also expecting more seasoned and spiced food for a Lebanese restaurant. Atmosphere was great.

Ordered from them through Uber Eats tonight. They sent us 'old' food. If someone told me the food had been ready for days, I'd believe them. Truly disgusting! It's as though, they scraped customer's plates and sent that to us. I've never been to the Chelsea restaurant. I used to go to the one in South Kensington. Now, I'd never ever set foot in one of their restaurants ever again. Shame on you, Comptoir Libanais.

Food was delicious and perfect portions. We had the halloumi and figs, bread, and lamb kofta as main. A friend had the rum hot chocolate which he wasn’t quite a fan of. I had their amaretto sour twist, was quite disappointing. Service was good. For those going later in the evening, can be slightly tricky to get to as the gates that go directly to the restaurant is closed and have to walk around. I had to call the restaurant to ask how to get there, and the lady was very helpful.

We found this restaurant by chance and we were so glad that we did. We had a table without waiting, although we could have sat outside with a throw. The service was quick and friendly, and the food delicious. I can recommend the chicken taouk.

Delicious food and buzzing atmosphere.

Great service however food quality really poor , chips are sub standard to say the least , grill food and steak cubes not Lebanese taste at all , mixed pickle tasted and look really old and not fresh . Will not recommend anyone to waste their money .

I would not recommend this place at all I receive wrong order, fresh juice, water down mix grill, only two scores salty, very expensive when I ask, why is the carrot juice like that I’ve been told already mix 80% water overcharge tabbouleh was not authentic we couldn’t eat the mix grill because was completely salty. Fattoush was tiny plate, not fresh. very disappointed, never again visited

Le personnel est vraiment très sympa, bon accueil. Je ne comprends pas très bien l'anglais quand ils parlent vite mais le serveur a pris le temps de se faire comprendre. La nourriture est vraiment d'une excellente qualité et en+ de ça, très bonne présentation (même si ce n'est pas le plus important). Je recommande fortement à ceux qui veulent tester. J'adore la déco.

We went here on a weekday evening after making reservations online. It was a small group of us and the service was ok. We asked for a jug of tap water but instead received cups of water that would be refilled at request as we were advised they don’t do tap water so ordered a bottle of still instead. For the main, most of us had the lamp kofte with wrap or rice. Speak to your waiter because we were able to customise our meals eg instead of rice then had more salad. It was a tasty meal I just wanted more so I had a side of chips which was good! I enjoyed the meal but we found making payment interesting as no one in sight. Think they wanted us to scan and pay via QR code on the table but as we sat across 3 tables we weren’t sure which table number to select for payment.

Dropped in for lunch with friends on Saturday and ordered the falafel platter. So delicious and colourful. The location is terrific for people watching in Duke of York Square. Staff are friendly but get a bit overwhelmed by the crowds making service slow at times.

Yummy food, don't speak English so don't ask to many questions.

We took 2 different tajines (chicken olives and lamb beans) with couscous. The couscous was great but a bit disappointed by both the tajines. Nothing dramatic but going to the restaurant you expect something better than you could easily do at home with little cooking experience. Otherwise the quantity seemed little at first seeing the plates but turned out to be just fine. And the atmosphere/decoration is nice

Love the food but whenever I come here, I have to wait too long even just to order. Assuming that they need more staff. Today, I waited waited and waited. Then managed to make myself heard and asked one of their waiters whether I could order, he said yes then disappeared. Left without ordering. Shame, I was really hungry

One star only for the good man rahoul the other for got lost because of the Supervisor mansour, Bad treatment, as if you were homeless, unclean food, a lot of dirt and hair

Good evening,                    I've refrained from leaving  a zero or one star on google, as I've seen previous complaints and found the email address needed. My wife and I had the misfortune of visiting your Chelsea branch yesterday (Sunday 1st October) We received a warm welcome and was shown to our seats by a wonderful member of your team, and thats where the positives end. We ordered food and drink. The food arrived, i cut a piece of my kofta and it was cold, as were the chips. A waitress eventually turned up with our drinks, and when I said the food was cold, she offered to 're heat it', i said no i would prefer  to have a fresh one. After some time a different waitress came along and slammed my plate down, and loudly shouted at me in front of all the others that 'If you are going to lie about the food being cold dont eat half of it first. I cut one piece and tried a few chips, this waitress was so rude and accused me of lying about being served cold food. This waitress was extremely scruffy, uniform torn and untidy. She then ignored our table completely and we waited an age to get our bill, i assume she got what we think was the manager to bring our bill over. i explained what happened, he simply shrugged and said they were busy, would we like a free dessert or coffee?   i asked for the service charge to be taken off, which he did. the food was average at best and i have been rather unwell since the visit, i think you need to be aware that in this day and age with financial constraints that eating out for many is a luxury choice. The service was totally unacceptable,  We wasted the best part of £40 and we will not make that mistake again. i dont expect a response i just want you to know how bad the visit was, perhaps you have expanded too quickly looking for profit whilst leaving service to suffer. dreadful

These guys cannot get an order out if their lives depended on it. Don't order through uber eats they suck.

ONE OF THE WORST MANAGERS I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED. The food was great but unfortunately the meal was ruined at the end by the behaviour of the manager, he said his name was Monsel he had black hair and a beard, working a lunch shift on Sunday 24th September. We split the bill in three and Monsel charged the last customer over double what she should have paid. We told him he had charged her the wrong amount and at that point he became incredibly aggressive and tried to argue that it was our fault, even though all my friend asked was 'could I pay what is left on the bill?'. Instead of working out what was left of the bill, instead Monsel glanced at other girls phone saw a random number in the calculator app and assumed that was what was left to pay. It wasn't and he charged her double the price. We asked for a refund and he said you have to email the company, terrible customer experience in of itself, but Monsel made it even worse by not even printing a proper customer receipt on the card machine to be able to prove what we had paid for. I am genuinely stunned that he is a manger, incredibly immature for the position he's in at the company.

Great decor... but food didn't seem fresh at all (very unusual for this cuisine) and the service was strange, like the staff were unhappy or didn't want to be there. I deeply felt that maybe the management isn't motivating or kind to them and it trickles down.

Service was really bad and slow on the day I was there. A long wait for order to be taken, not given cutleries etc. Seems like a shortage of wait staff. Would still eat at Comptoir Libanais, just not at this location.

The staff were not attentive or friendly at all we had to ask for drinks ourselves. Food was not amazing and kitchenware was dirty...

Bad Service. Staff lack cleanliness and basic hospitality m. Had to wait for 10 minutes to get a piece of bread. The tawook was over cooked.

Pleasant atmosphere on a sunny day, healthy delicious options at a reasonable price. Found the service excellent today, a random Friday in September 2023.

Not the most unique or authentic, but a lovely place. Portions generous, pickles and bread are great. Falafel was not very moist inside and too much deep fried. Interior kitschy but in a fun way. Staff super sweet and service is quick. Enjoyed it!

I simply love this place! Great food, great location and excellent service. We had an amazing evening thanks to Ozzy who took great care of our table with his great suggestions and warm&professional attitude!

Per Zufall mittags beim Sightseeing in Chelsea gefunden und dann abends direkt ausprobiert. Essen hervorragend und der Service sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Klimaanlage war für meinen Geschmack etwas zu kühl eingestellt, aber alles andere war Bombe - dicke Empfehlung und beim nächsten Besuch in London gerne wieder! Found by chance at lunchtime while sightseeing in Chelsea and then tried it out in the evening. The food was excellent and the service very attentive and friendly. The air conditioning was a bit too cool for my taste, but everything else was great - highly recommended and I'll be back next time I'm in London!

Restaurant Review: Comptoir Libanais on King's Road My partner and I decided to check out Restaurant Comptoir Libanais on a sweltering August day, with the temperature hitting around 26 degrees. The place wasn't too crowded when we arrived. The staff seemed a bit inexperienced, but they were paying attention to us. We ordered ciders to drink, but the glasses they brought had bits of leftover food stuck inside. I let the waiter know, and he didn't seem surprised, not really keen on fixing it. After insisting, he finally brought me a new glass and got us another cider. We tried a few different dishes: falafel, batata harra, halloumi cheese with fig, and spinach and feta börek. The halloumi cheese came with fig jam that was way too sweet and not fresh at all. The falafel was dry and cold, and the börek didn't taste like much, and there was no hint of feta cheese flavor. Here's the kicker – they added a 12.5% service charge to the bill, despite the fact that the service was subpar at best. What made matters worse was that the service charge wasn't optional. All in all, the experience was pretty bad. What's disappointing is that I've been to Comptoir Libanais before and had a good time, but this visit was a letdown. Maybe it's because it's summer and they have temporary staff – even the chef might be new. It's just a shame that this visit didn't turn out well. Nick

They bring the plates and the water glass dirty and they serve the food plates on top each other , the food tastes good .

It is a lovely place located at Chelsea, which is one of the most chic districts of London. The food kept its arabic original taste, it is typically full of people but you can get a table quickly and the service is excellent. It is much quieter than many touristic places in more crowded districts (like, for instance, near Leicester square) and visited mostly by Londoners.

A disappointing visit due to the very poor service. Some staff members were not at all interested in customer service and we had to ask numerous times for the same things. Our plates were so filthy, we had to change them twice as they were encrusted with leftover food. Appalling for such a well known chain. The food however, was nice and tasty, the couscous portion was quite small

I had a terrible experience today from the rudest and most arrogant employee who I have ever seen in my life, and who surprisingly said that he was the manager of the restaurant Geoff, a tall late middle aged man. I came to the restaurant with my husband to have dinner after a long journey. He asked us to stand aside when it was raining and windy and to wait for him to seat us while he went chatting and joking to 3 female diners. After nearly 10 minutes of being ignored, I polity asked if someone else could seat us as there were many empty tables. He became extensively angry, shouted at us and asked me and my husband to leave the restaurant otherwise he'll pull us out claiming that I interrupted him when he was chatting with other people!!! The workers were all watching and he threatened them not to speak to us or give us any help. I hope that everyone reads to feel the disgust that we feel today being ejected from a restaurant in London in this rude and disgraceful manner. We are two doctors and a polite couple who have been to hundreds of restaurants and never experienced a rude and terrible episode like the one we just had in comptoir libanais today!!! I'd never, nor let my family and friends set foot in this restaurant again whilst they have such rude and ignorant managerial staff!!!

Amazing mezze platter and kebabs/ koftas. We had an assortment of everything on the menu and the food was perfectly cooked. Kebabs and koftas were succulent and delicious. The piece de resistance was of course the mahalabia. Delicate and served with raisins and figs. The waitress seemed overworked but she was really good and attentive.

Good food, good service and really nice interiors

Not what it used to be!! Avoid. Oily and not tasty salads, non eatable things left in the plates.. disgusting. we used to go there often but we now will avoid !

Customer service could have been a bit better

Italian version (English one below) Catena di ristoranti molto caratteristici e colorati, l'ambiente è estremamente piacevole e curato nei particolari, i camerieri sono davvero gentilissimi e attenti al cliente. Piatti ottimi, consiglio fortemente il piatto per due (mezze platter) con l'hummus e la pita davvero delizioso e il saccottino di pasta sfoglia (?) con spinaci e feta, tutto buonissimo. Ho anche preso il piatto con le melanzane e il riso integrale ma non era eccezionale come gli altri, l'ho trovato un po' sciapo. Consiglio se siete amanti delle cucine orientali. English version Chain of restaurants very characteristic and colorful, the place is extremely pleasant and with attention to detail, the waiters are kind and attentive to the customer. Great dishes, I strongly recommend the dish for two ("mezze platter") with hummus and pita, really delicious and the puff pastry bag (?) with spinach and feta, they were so good. I also got the dish with the auberigines and the brown rice but it wasn't as good as the others, I've found it a bit unsalted to be honest. You shoud really go if you love oriental cuisine.

The food: amazing The service: amazing The only thing l disliked was the fact that they let people smoke right next to you, in areas where people are trying to have lunch. I observed a couple leave because of the smoke.

Poor experience, terrible customer service (borderline non-existent as they ignored us from the get-go). We waited quite a while to be seated despite having made a reservation. After sitting down and ignoring us for a long time, the staff asked us to move tables to seat an 'influencer'. Avoid this place like the plague unless you enjoy being insulted - it's honestly not worth it.

A little pricey, but still very good value for money. There's a reason why it's almost always crowded. The quality matches well with the good restaurants in the Middle East.

We went during the Chelsea flower show and the atmosphere was buzzing. It was extremely busy and service was really slow. The food isn't really what it used to be, one of their best dishes the chicken musakhan isn't on the menu anymore which is a shame.
