nice music and very quite place to have a drink and enjoy a great chat with friends, if you are walking around in the heart of the city.

Lovely venue - went for drinks before going to the theatre across the road. Sat in the sun and enjoyed a beer made by Burnside - a wee craft Brewery based in Aberdeenshire. Also had coffees. Great location. Seemed to be card/contactless only. Well priced considering the location. Staff just a wee bit slow….

Coffee = Average Cheesecake = on a par with Tesco's frozen New York cheesecake.(Tesco give you the whole thing for £2.75) Service = very, very poor, verging on abysmal Cost = for what it is - very expensive Overall -= one of the poorest Café experiences I have had in a long time. Conclusion = for me it's a, best avoid. The Café at the Art Gallery (just a short distance away) is far, far better.

What a lovely way to start the day in Aberdeen, sitting outside in the sunshine with good food and coffee enjoying the views and the stunning architecture this part of Aberdeen has to offer. We arrived not long after the place had opened but it was busy and the member of staff was very friendly. Great place!

Went for a drink on a lovely sunny afternoon in Aberdeen perfect location if staff were interested and had any had any training. Didn't seem to want clear used table as more interested in chatting and looking at their phones. Saw at least 3 couples walk away

Met a friend for lunch, ordered coffees and soups, 35 minutes later, still no soup, had to get up and remind them we had ordered the 2 soups. Finally when they came had to ask for cutlery. Staff didn't seem remotely interested. Place was quiet but a few tables with dirty dishes on them. Soup was nice and plentiful. When we went to pay, the option to add a service charge was pointed out to my friend, which was laughable.

What a lovely welcome! Enjoyed the drinks and a bread and olive platter. Wine as suggested by our server was delicious. Pity they’re only open until 7pm.

The shared meat & cheese platter was overpriced only had 1 type of salami which for the price isn't really on I guess. Loads of dirty plates etc outside the toilet area. Nice seating area outside but they don't accept cash claiming its more hygienic which doesn't even make sense!

Beautiful location. Rude staff. Iced chocolate is hot chocolate water with an ice cube. Tables dirty with last persons leftovers sitting there for duration of stay.

Never asked how I would like my scone warm. Was okay but would not rush to go there. If you were sitting out told that they are closing for a private function so a lady asked for a take away coffe was told no. Nice location rubbish service and wouldn't recommend going there

Lovely spot on the terrace at UTG. We went early Sat evening and had bento boxes - wow - great grazing and better than most cheese boards I’ve had. Cocktails were spot on, big ice and great value @£7.50. Cosy, great service and book wall that is a hydra story in itself. Thank you ❤️

The food is good, but as the entire enterprise is very small, it does take a while for each person to receive their food. The staff are friendly and helpful, but this is definitely a couples / singles establishment and as a group we would only be looking to return for post theatre cocktails rather than lunch. Sadly the venue is a mobile phone dead spot and the wifi was not working when we were there. I will add that when we did return after the theatre for drinks again it took a while for the drinks to arrive.

Popped in for a cup of tea with a friend. Common Sense Coffee House and Bar is clean and in a convenient location if you are in town. However there is not much space inside and we did feel very cramped at our table which was very close to nearby tables. There was continuous nondescript music which made conversation a little difficult. The food menu is not for me but cakes and scones looked nice. We were however, very well attended to by a member of staff. I would return if I was in the area a needed a beverage.

This is a new standalone café as part of the union garden works. Just got 2 coffees which were good and so was the vibe, especially the book swap wall. Pretty quick and friendly service.

I came here Sunday lunchtime: 1. The location is amazing, especially on a nice day. A great place for views of Union Terrace Gardens. 2. It’s tiny inside. Not much room to move about, and you need to be lucky to get a table. 3. Service was very good. 4. Food was delicious, as was the coffee. 5. Portion size was poor. I got a soup (which was delicious) but the bowl was only half full. I also overheard staff say they’re almost out of toasted sandwiches. Not great if you want to encourage customers to come back. 6. They add a service charge onto your bill automatically, which I am not a fan of personally speaking. Overall I had a pleasant experience, but I’d have liked a bigger portion for what I paid.

We arrived at 6.30 and had a relaxing evening of cocktails, wine and food. Not a restaurant more a grazing with pals and family place or drinks before the shows at the theatre, which is just across the street. Food is not so small plates of international food. We had gyoza, satay chicken sticks and Thai steak wraps followed by a very satisfying cheeseboard and Victoria sponge. Closes at 8pm so get in early, relax and enjoy. Loads of people having coffee so a space for all. The setting is beautiful and service just right. Well done 👍🏼👍🏼

We visited this Costa this afternoon after what had been a long tiresome day hoping to get a nice coffee before our journey home. There were dirty tables and when we asked a member of staff to clean one so we could sit down we got a mouthful of abuse. So we left and went upstairs to the Pret a Manger which was much busier but they had nice clean tables and welcoming staff. Will not be visiting Costa again but would definitely recommend the Pret a Manger if you are visiting the Bon Accord Centre!

Personnel très sympa. Chocolat chaud aussi délicieux que d'habitude. Dommage qu'il n'y avait pas beaucoup de place...

Have been to the coffee shop with friends twice recently. The first time was in the afternoon on a Saturday and we didn't realise that the coffee shop closed at 3pm! The assistant closed up and started vacuuming but did not rush us away and we stayed for another half hour chatting. It is a shame it is not open a bit longer. The second time we went in the morning and the coffee shop was busier. There are quite a number of tables so plenty places to sit. Both times the staff were pleasant. and the coffee shop clean. The scones are very nice. Would come back again.

Delicious warm blueberry muffin and an apple and cinnamon muffin here for breakfast. Coffee, however, not good, tasted like dishwater, so neither of us finished our drinks. Would visit again for muffins but not coffee. Toilet out of order, but used for staff to change. Staff friendly.
