Great seasonal menu, with more hot dishes in winter and more salads in summer. Almost everything, except the bread and rolls is home made - Ruaraidh the chef makes the scones and sausage rolls, while Amy, the owners daughter, makes of all the cakes and tray bakes. Friendly staff and always someone to chat to amongst the regular customers. Local guide books available to buy at the counter, including the Guide to the Battle of Langside (1568).

Nice little cafe, nice coffee and their Turkish bread looks lovely but i was a but put off by the saucers & plates on the counter with big broken chips out them. I was always told to bin these due to germs collecting.

Always a warm welcome form the owner and his team. House specials include home made sausage rolls and scones, both made in house. Owner's daughter does all the other baking and has added cinnamon marble cake to the list of "afters", which includes "school cake" for those who can remember it. Dogs welcome with well behaved owners. They also stock some interesting booklets on local history.

My Mum and I were here for lunch today, the food was delicious, there was a very minor issue with one coffee which the male staff member quickly rectified without any fuss. The male staff member was also very kind and welcoming to our two dogs which we really appreciated. I've been here quite a few times now and it's consistently great. Thank you!

Just around the corner from our Airbnb, this friendly wee place quickly became our favourite go to cafe for coffee, breakfast and lunch, special mention must go to the sausage rolls, you just have to experience them to know how good they are, freshly baked on the premises each morning, great coffee and a friendly relaxed vibe

I Stumbled upon Common Ground by accident when I was in the area with time to spare and was amazed at the quality of food on offer. It’s a small cafe type business but the “kerb appeal” belies the outstanding quality of fare on offer. The roasted Mediterranean vegetables on Turkish bread is absolutely fantastic and you better be hungry because the portion size of everything is huge. My cycling buddy and I like to end our weekend cycle run here where we devour our treat as a reward for the hard graft. Neil and the staff are lovely people and are delighted to see returning regulars.

I've eaten a fair few sausage rolls in my lifetime but I've never tasted one as good as the one I had yesterday at Common Ground. I went for the added chorizo version but they also do versions with apple sauce or haggis. I'll be back to try them later. The thing is, I only stopped by for a quick snack but these sausage rolls are huge and will stave off hunger pangs for hours. We're still not allowed to enter the premises due to Covid restrictions but service at the hatch was quick and cheerful.

So delighted to have found this spot. Cakes are delicious and coffee is on point. Main reason I go back though is the staff. They are so nice and welcoming such a brilliant change from the pretentious hipster halfwits running every other cafe gaff in the southside. Keep dishing up those massive sausage rolls and never change ! Dog friendly too

Despite asking for extra hot coffee, gave me three coffees that were cold. Won't go back and would recommend that you avoid. Overall very poor.

Great food and coffee, very well priced. I think it’s fair to say that it’s all too easy as a coffee lover today to spend money when you’re out at chains, it is often overpriced, sub par and is going to a faceless corporate entity. Common Ground in the south side of Glasgow near Mount Florida train station has excellent quality coffee and food, excellent value and excellent service. Gluten Free is well accommodated. Such a pleasant and affordable experience that in my eyes it sets a precedent of care and respect for local people - as every local coffee house should be! It’s really and only when a place delivers to this standard and price that you realise how lucky you are to have it so close. Thank you Common Ground

Went for afternoon tea with my friend and was certainly not disappointed, the owner of the shop was a lovely friendly person and the sandwiches scones and cakes etc were delicious, we were also given a welcoming soft drink with little exploding fruit bubbles which was a pleasant surprise . I would definitely recommend a visit wherever you live in Glasgow or surrounding areas it’s well worth it. Anything left over you get a box to take home

Delicious veggie food We stopped in for brunch on a sunny Saturday. I was intrigued by the smashed peas on sourdough, and it was not a disappointment! Deliciously minty with spring onion and a hint of chilli. The halloumi on top was perfect. A good selection of teas and coffees, and other juices etc. A brilliant option for veggie or vegan breakfast, lunch, or brunch. I came back the next day to get some of their fantastic pastries!

Really disappointed after reading about the hype surrounding this place. Overall it looked the part and had a quirky style but there was little genuinely Turkish about it. Service was ok however was restricted to bringing out the food as you had to order it through an over engineered app resulting in my cake being brought to me before my lunch. Coffee was decent but nothing special, cake was dry and the shawarma was like something from a cheap kebab shop - wouldnt rush back.

My first visit during my Glasgow stay. Came here and had a late breakfast consisting of a raisin scone and a pot of tea. Super cozy atmosphere, feels like a local regular cafe. Very nice owner who gave me some tips on other places to visit nearby.
