Tried table table for first time. Staff not interested (walked away as walked in) we had a dog so knew we would sit outside but outside the tables were all pushed against hedges, thrown across grass and umbrellas falling over. Absolutely awful. Gone to beefeater instead

We visited this place for lunch. We had 1 x mixed grill 1 x rump steak Both meals very nice and cooked as ordered. The mixed grill was a nice large meal with plenty of meat to eat. The steaks on both meals were very succulent. The lady serving us has bags of personality and is very pleasant. The disappointment at this place are the toilets. A bit grotty and the middle sink in the mens toilets is a disgrace. Never been cleaned behind it in months. There is rotting mouldy paper there which should be cleaned. Add to that missing tiles and the tatty appearance of the rest of it. Overall a decent place to eat but steer clear of the grotty toilets.

Had one of the nicest breakfast ever, so much to choose from and great quality food. We liked it that much we nipped in for Sunday lunch, the carvery was lovely. Plenty of choice and plenty of meat offered. Highly recommended.

Probably fairly typical of the breed. Was pretty dead, but even so was a bit slow. Food was ok, beer a bit past it's best. I guess it's location makes it more of a business hotel service, but even so it could do with a bit of a kick up the backside.

Me and my son come here every Saturday for breakfast. We both love it here, the staff are amazing and so friendly and helpful and the food is delicious.

Awful, better service, atmosphere and food at the Maccies over the road. Booked for today (father's day) and clearly couldn't handle any aspect of the morning. No cups, no plates, massive wait for food. If you can't handle the amount of people, why allow so many to book in? Tried to get a refund at the bar and waited for 15 minutes and didn't see a member of staff, just took the hit and walked out.

My daughter and I had dinner on Saturday night and not only was the food delicious (chicken and ham pie and a trio of mini pies) but the welcome and service from Amy and Brett were terrific. They couldn’t have been nicer!

Friendly staff, nice food at reasonable prices. Popped again last night to celebrate a friend's birthday. Bret served us and was very helpful. We enjoyed our night out and would definitely go again.

Staff are all lovely but the service is so slow. Sat down ordered drinks and they arrived about 20 mins later. Only one style of chips available ( skin on ) not good for fussy children. My piece of gammon was so small. Felt like I was eating a child’s meal. The pub itself was clean and tidy.

Quite expensive for what it is. Average food. Wetherspoons in town is less than half the price and just as good food with faster service and a livelier atmosphere.

I enjoyed the food here it was very good. The only things I didn't like were: I saw three members of staff all walking around the restaurant whilst chewing food . I think they should eat their food out the back. The other thing was the wooden rails by the entrance is broken and has sharpnails pointing upwards. The food was definitely good

Stayed at the premier inn this weekend with family as we were going to Alton towers, visited the pub Friday and Saturday. Absolutely brilliant experience, food was excellent and customer service was on point! Big shout out to Sophie and Brett, none of your customer service skills could have been any better. You were both fab! We will be returning.

Had a nice carvery here. First time we’d been in a while. Good choice of vegetables etc and something for the veggie in our party. Brett was our waiter, he was really friendly and attentive!

Called in for food on the spur of the moment as we were passing through. The staff were so helpful, there was no table free in the restaurant but they found us a table in the bar and we had a carvery in there. Food was hot, plentiful and delicious. Excellent value for money.

Went here for the 2 for 11.99 offer. It's great value too. We had starters which added another 6 quid but still great value. Service a bit on the slow side mainly because the lovely serving lady was having to do everything as the other lady did next to nothing. Overall an ok place to go for food.

We have been staying in the adjacent motel for 4 days over Easter so have had 3 breakfasts and a carvery so far; the abiding impression is of a lack of staff but reasonably good food for a restaurant of this type. However, the few staff present were invariably helpful and friendly. Breakfasts have been the worst examples of under-staffing with queing right back to the doors, apparent IT glitches over booking times, and a lack of items on the hot buffet and queus for drinks, toast, cereals and jams. Given proper staffing levels, the dining experiences could have been so much better.

The meal obtained was breakfast. Breakfast is self-serve and freshly cooked. Cereals, etc, are also available all in the one price. A good place to eat if you are in the area.

We came across this restaurant by chance on the way to Alton Towers late the other evening. The food was really great. Very friendly and efficient staff. Karon and the others could not have been more friendly or efficient. Really tasty food with great menu choice.

Went for the breakfast this morning,(17th),very disappointed.Customers queuing for breakfast items regularly,what was on offer did not equate for value for money.

My parents often go to the Colliers with friends and for myself this was my second visit after moving to Rugeley; on this occasion I went with my folks for my birthday lunch and I cannot thank enough for the fabulous, friendly and fun (banter always a plus) service provided, the food was spot on; tasty, filling and good value, and then of course I enjoyed a couple of lovely glasses of wine (it was my birthday!). We highly recommend and have decided to frequent and to be honest, I would be happy to dine alone here. Thanks guys

Good food, couldn't complain, the food was delivered to the table not to soon or to late, didn't feel rushed, the service was really good, was made to feel welcome and didn't feel like just another customer, our waitress was chloe so if you choose to eat here I'd recommend asking for her, all of the other staff were just as good definitely recommend

We love coming here the food is great every time and the staff are lovely. Amy our server was amazing and really looked after us! Would 100% recommend. It’s our go to for date nights and family meals.

Enjoyable meal at lunchtime, staff friendly and helpful. Quiet eating environment and is a place worth considering. Plenty of parking linked with Premier Inn next door.

Went for a drink, and on arrival, lady behind the bar told me that I would have to wait whilst she served 3 tables, I waited patiently for over 10 minutes before leaving. Went to a nicer place down the road. Thanks to everyone at the Ash Tree for taking the time to look after your customers.

Went here for my birthday with my son's. Had a lovely meal. Karen looked after us and she was very busy,but still made sure she checked on us,if anything we needed. Really had a lovely time

We're regulars at the Colliers. They have lovely food, friendly staff and great prices. Would recommend to anyone in the area (especially their Sunday carvery).

First time here it was my brothers birthday party got seated at 7.25pm didn't receive our starter until 8.40pm main meal arrived after 9pm desert was after 10pm. If this is going to be the case everytime I definitely won't be going back.

Not been for a long time as last experience was not good. Once again very disappointing, Had a carvery food tasteless, partner had burger which came out luke warm and again was tasteless. Will not be going there again!

The staff here are excellent, Karen and Chloe looked after us and were friendly and welcoming. We had a large family gathering and had a brilliant evening. I would highly recommend this establishment and we have visited many times and we will definitely be coming back again. Well done to all the staff for accommodating a large group of us at short notice.

As always in my experience, good food, good value with excellent Customer Service. April was our waitress and what an amazing effort she made to make our family Christmas get together special. Well worthy of travelling out of our way to eat here. Would certainly recommend and we will definitely keep coming back

Had a nightmare one and a half hours wait for starters another hour till what loosely was called a main course finally desserts three and a half hours + another 30minutes to pay

Would be 5* but there wasn't enough food being produced for the offer for everyone in the place.

Called in on the off chance for a meal,got a table no problem,must say the young man,P, Karen that served us very well polite with great manners,and to top it off the food was lovely,well done thanks.

Stayed in the premier inn next after an excellent refurb, had dinner and breakfast in the colliers. Service and staff brilliant as per normal special mention to Scott,Karen and Chloe brilliant service as always 👍

Waiters and waitress very friendly a great afternoon

Considering that the place wasn't very busy the service was appalling. Over an hour for our mains which were of very poor standard when they arrived, Luke warm chips and a cheese sauce like rubber. This used to be an ok place but I won't be going back anytime soon

Great place, clean, tidy, the food was tasty and freshly cooked good value for money, staff are really nice and helpful, also friendly, it's a nice big place ideal for a large get together or a small cosy meal for two, I would definitely recommend a visit and look forward to going again. There is also a hotel next-door.

Booked a table for 5.15pm for a Carvery, arrived 45mins early which was no problem as planned to relax and have a drink first,was informed that the carvery was no longer available just the main menu, which to be honest there was not a great deal of choice and well over priced. Finished our drink and left disapointed. If your looking for a Carvery or food on a sunday i would DEFINATLEY AVOID THIS PLACE.

Dropped in here today for a breakfast. £9.99 and there was no hot food. We waited but after 25mins only got a bowl of mushrooms, 6 eggs and 6 slices of bacon for a whole room of people who were waiting. Waitress said it is always busy on Saturday mornings but bringing out 1 bowl of hot food at a time will never get you a full english breakfast like the pictures. Fail. Won't be going back... got a refund

This is a great place to eat. The staff, April and Jade, are so attentive, friendly and quick to serve. The food was well cooked and hot. Will be back. Also very clean which is always a bonus

Love going for the £9.99 eat all you like breakfast. The quality is great and the price keeps me and my partner returning when we just can't be bothered to make our own or are in a rush. Best breakfast around in my opinion. Spot on.

Came in yesterday about 4pm and we was greeted by a lovely lady called Sophie B And she took our drinks order straight away and delivered them straight away aswell then she was very helpful about the menu Such a chatty lovely young lady Definitely be coming back

The staff made me wait 5 minutes for a drink while they chatted out the back.the table opposite me has still got desert dishes on it my fish is dry no one has asked if my food is OK. Terrible place. Don't bother coming here. McDonald's across the road is a better bet

Was OK we only went in for quick drink on way home only had a few chips had to wait a long time staff were friendly and helpful were thinking of going for a meal maybe we will try later on looks nice inside??

Took over 40 minutes to get meal.

Service very slow we were in there 2 hours for 1 course kids had 3 course meals bought out the wrong starters, then over an hour for the mains. The kids were getting fed up, when mains finally came out they'd forgotten one of the toddlers meals so he was crying had to wait again for it to be cooked. We didn't bother ordering deserts we didn't want to wait for another hour.

Friendly staff good lunch with the grandchildren. Also they have allergy menus

Visited with family from NZ, found the place by chance!! Was bowled over by how attentive the staff were, the young man that gave us table service was faultless. The food was beautiful and we thouroughly enjoyed our visit.

The food was lovely. Really enjoyed it. The service was good apart from when we first went in, had to wait for a while to get a drink. There was nobody really designated to stay on the bar to serve drinks. Other than that, enjoyed it. Xx

Not sure what to say really, try and find the positives but difficult today. Booked for fathers day, arrived on time, got our table quickly. Had to pay upfront. Myself and son went to get hot drinks whilst my wife and daughter went to queue for food. They also ordered gluten free toast for both of them. We got our drinks, no glasses though for juice. At the food, for my wife and daughter, half of the things were missing and they were waiting for a while before some stuff came out. Myself and son went up for our food, there was only mushrooms, beans, and a few sausages. No bacon, no egg, no hashbrowns. Half the people got fed up of waiting after 10 mins and sat down. We waited about another 10 mins. The hashbrowns came out, waited a few more mins, eggs came out, waited a few more mins and bacon came out. Really poor service and us and others were really fed up. Half the food was cold as we picked it at the start then waites ages for the rest. Hot drinks we got at the start were also cold due to taking 20 mins to get some food. Yes it was fathers day, but this happens ever year so to consitently run out of food, juice, cups etc just shows bad planning and lack of organisation, no wonder they took money in advance. Also there were no crossaints, no pan eu chocolats, hoc choc machine just gave out hot milk.. dreadful.

Booked for Fathers Day Breakfast for 10:45am. Had a phone call the day before to see if we would change to 10:30am which we agreed to. Arrived at 10:30am and stood there for 10mins waiting to be seated. We then went up to the Breakfast Buffet only to find 8 hash browns, half a tub of beans and a few black puddings. We waited a further 15mins incase any food did come out (currently a queue of 15 people waiting) and then had to walk out by 11am as we were starving. The building was very hot and there were half empty plates of food stacked up on tables everywhere!!! Definitely a staffing issue! I dont blame the staff just bad management really. Had they called to say they had too many tables and cancelled on us the day before at least then we wouldn't have wasted out fathers day morning. We walked across to the McDonalds and Im glad we did. We were welcomed at the door by a friendly woman, it was a much more calmer atmosphere in an air conditioned room and obviously half the price.
