Recently have been calling to this place when we fancy a chilled family meal. The staff are lovely, the food is always great. Steak for myself and the children's meals are a good portion. We tried the Sunday lunch today and weren't disappointed! Great value for money and you never have to wait to long for food to be served.

Waited over 25 minutes for a takeaway dinner, which then came out freezing cold as if the dinner had been in the fridge. When we got home and opened the dinners the stuffing was raw, “mash” was a boiled potato mushed down with no seasoning on the whole dinner. Chicken was chewy and again not an ounce of seasoning. Would not be going back.

Really enjoyed the meal and the service was great. 9pm closing was early though.

Food and service are awesome. We as a family have been coming here for many many years. Many moons ago my family owned this pub as well, and it brings back so many memories whilst having sleepovers with my cousin's. Nice to see the same values are present today as when my family owned it back in the 70’s xxx

Imprompu stop at The Colliers in Llansamlet, though we have visted before. Pick a table and order at the bar. Food was great, prices were good and the food was on our table within 15 minutes.... Will def' call again👌

Ordered chilli and jacket potato which was 949 on menu MY husband ordered steak and ale pie and chips when I went to bar to order the girl behind bar was really assy she said do u want the chilli as a meal I said well whichever one is 949 that's what ide like she then said we'll that's not what u said so u want the chilli as a meal with rice I said ok oh but when food came no rice on plate what a joke my husband meal was crap it was a pastry top and wasnt nice and chips were like cardboard so wont b going back there

Had a lovely birthday meal tonight , seven people eating and drinks , eighty pound , so pretty reasonable and food was spot on and nice size portions to , will be back in the future 👊🏻😎👊🏻

fab food as usual whetheri its a baguette, evening meal or sunday roast. The whole place is spotless and the staff very friendly - our favourites are the steaks and sunday roast.

Called in for lunch after being told how good it was. Our order was curry and gammon. Food arrived fairly swiftly. First impression was good. Curry, rice and chips was good, except for the chips- a bit sad looking. Gammmon was delicious, not salty, again chips a bit meh. The sides with the gammon seemed odd. The usual egg, pineapple and peas, but then mushrooms ( cold), side salad and onion rings. All a bit much.

I used to love this place lovely service but the it was cold in the dinning area people had their coats on my meal and husband was bland and cold .not like the colliers always had beautiful food .can't fault the staff .

Me and my family often visit the Colliers which is an amazing restaurant/Pub. The Colliers do tasty dishes that are never over priced. The staff are very helpful and friendly!

Had a Sunday lunch today , not like the usual ,, bit disappointed.. maybe just me , ?? But everything ??? About it wasn't good, roasties were burnt ,and carrots were also the same , always had a good meal other times , can't fault it ?

Great homemade style food. Excellent choice of food on the menu. Very reasonably priced . Wonderful Xmas Dinner for under £15. Well worth a visit.

Had zinger burger, large size meal, service was good, but guy who fetched food never explained or offered condiments ....plenty of seating areas..ideal for families..

Went for food today, beautiful as usual, couldn't do enough for us, and happily made my daughter what she wanted as she's a really fussy eater.

I ordered medium steak and it came well done and cold but the chips were hot. The staff were really good and redid my meal albeit 15 minutes after my partner had finished eating.

Outstanding value for money. Unfortunately I could not finish my meal because it was huge. Just over £6 for the chicken burger is a bargain. Fresh home made chips and a decent side salad. Definitely returning.

Fantastic Sunday lunch, plenty of it as well. If you have a small appetite then I suggest to order a child's portion. Staff are really polite and friendly.

We stayed at Mercure hotel, which was 10 minutes walking from this pub but we didn't want to eat at the hotel so we checked online and went there. Traditional pub food, great value and extremely kind people. The lady at the bar called a taxi for us when we finished. Highly recommended!

Whent there today for lunch with my daughter it was amazing the food was amazing the whole thing was beautiful from the time you walk in and leav they make you rely welcome 😋

Good food, fantastic value, friendly staff

We went here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised, the bar staff was friendly and helpful. The food is all cooked fresh and a good menu range, the parsley sauce and ham I had was really lovely the ham just melted 😋.

Me and my wife go here regularly for Sunday lunch its great value 3 courses for like £14 pounds the food is freshly cooked with a big selection of choices of meats and veggie options great value will definitely be visiting again highly recommended

A mediocre pub, perhaps good for locals to drink in if you like the view of the car scrap yard, but not really recommendable. Arrived on a Thursday night and was empty, yes they do food at reasonable cheap prices but they close the pub at 9:30pm There were 8 of us and some had good meals, some had terrible undercooked meals. It seemed to be a hit and miss and perhaps some of the reviews were real for years ago, but I would personally go else where. Only bonus was teh young blonde barman was cute

I cant even describe how delicious and plentiful the Sunday lunch was. Piping hot, delicious gravy, vegetables cooked to perfection and the beef was huge and melted in my mouth. I've not had cabbage, peas and gravy like this since my nan passed in 2007. Absolutely phenomenal! We'll be back next week

Second visit here and second good experience. Staff really friendly and helpful. The Steak & Ale pies was delicious with plenty of meat and big fluffy pastry. If I had to find fault then the gravy could be a tad thicker, but it didn’t matter, it was lovely. Hand cut, deep fried “real” chips, oh they were good. Reasonably priced, yes Wetherspoons is cheaper but this food is better. Oh and the Honeycombe Cheesecake with Ice Cream was also very nice. Will happily go back. They are open on Saturdays, even though Google says they’re not.

The worst Sunday dinner we ve ever had here ..the one before was lovely I don’t know what’s happened but the food was all microwave food we ate it well some but we will not be back …I ve never had cabbage with burnt black bits in.we had food when we got home as we were all hungry coming away …sack the chef

Great food at competitive prices. However, the dining area was freezing, so much so that the food on your plate was cold by the time you got to the end of your meal. We know fuel prices are high, but eating with your coat on and cold hands is not a pleasant experience 1

Went here with my daughter. Staff lovely and friendly but food was very disappointing. The steak was tough and our food wasn't very hot at all. Neither of us would go there again unfortunately.

Called into the pub today for a family meal.. Daughter inlaw is heavily pregnant, wanted a roast dinner.. Ordered 4 roast beef dinners. When the meal came it looked awful. I said hope it taste better than it looked... Gravy didn't even taste like beef. Horrible colour on the gravy. 1 thick slice of beef followed by 2 very thin small slices. Full of fat, couldn't eat it... Stuffing in Yorkshire pudding wasn't cooked. Looked like it was just made and put into a solid Yorkshire pudding which you couldn't cut without eat it.. My mother's beef was just chucks of beef not even slices, she said on way home in car it was like the beef was covered in Peper. Burning her mouth. She didn't want to tell me. She's 79 yrs old. Roast potatoes looked awful and tasted like they been cooked last week. Fresh carrots but swede was frozen.... Told the barstaff who served us we didn't enjoyed the meal and it was awful. He just give a little giggle and took out plates away without saying a word... Wouldn't recommend this pub tbh. Meal was very disappointed. Paid £46.for basically rubbish .

I’m so glad they thawed out the frozen food before they served it. Second time I’ve been there both times I was bitterly disappointed ☹️ I can’t believe that place is still trading.. not even deserve a one star 👎👎👎

Very large Sunday dinner it was nice but not lovely, we did go at the end of the day so food had been kept warm. I could imagine if we went at the beginning of the day the food would be spot on. Definitely worth a try

Oh dear what a mess! Recently had Sunday Lunch here with my wife. We had the nut roast option. The food lacked taste. The cabbage had been beaten to a pulp. The carrots and swede tasted like frozen vegs warmed up. They had lost any flavour they had. The Yorkshire Pud was obviously from a packet and was like a Frisbee. Difficult to cut! The nut roast was tasteless. Compared with other places who charge a similar price for Sunday Lunch, this was poor and not value for money. Mint sauce delivered in a sqeezy bottle. Not nice. We won't be going here again.

Staff pleasant and friendly. Old established run public house Food very disappointed 2 meals served. 1. Steak left /not eaten jacket potato size of golf ball not eaten. Additional sauce / mushroom and Stilton ?? Peas cold.😱 2. Mixed grill not as bad as above. House management offered to replace some goods offered drinks to replace dissatisfaction. Unfortunately won't be calling there again

Very well presented (takeaway) took our plates - yes i can cook but didnt have time this week - food very nice with large portions and heaps of gravy served separate - All veg fresh - only frozen veg were the peas and the yorkshire ( we all use frozen peas and frozen puds) - i do prefer leo peas but same they are out of a box - cant please all! Meat both had Beef melted in your mouth - well done kitchen - will return defo.

Firstly, I am not trolling. I have seen many great reviews about the Sunday roast and the wife suggested I try it out whilst she was working, so that if I liked it we would go when she was off work. I turned up to find the restaurant very busy with a high energy buzz, so I was expecting a great meal. I had to sit in the bar and the food took about 20 minutes, which was ok. However, when the food came it was ridiculously hot and I had to wait for it to cool before I could eat. I asked for mint sauce but it never came! I did not have swede or cabbage, so I expected them to make up for it with other veg but they didn't and I still paid full. I had only one roast potato, which was soft, not crunchy like you expect and had a consistency like the bought in pre-cooked frozen ones. I had chicken, which was breast meat and is naturally a dry meat and a pile of mash. However, there was nothing more than a drizzle of gravy, making everything almost too dry to eat. As a result, I left the most of the mash and chicken and about half the food. Yes, I could have asked for more gravy but I wanted to sample their food against what we cook at home. In fact, it was so dry I was using my drink to wash it down and I was so disappointed by it, I didn't bother finishing my drink and left. I understand many people really enjoy it, especially as there seemed to be a great atmosphere in the restaurant, but on this occassion to food was a very poor standard for the price and NOTHING like any of the photos people have posted.

Home-cooked, filling and delicious food in a homely pub. Good variety on the menu and decent drinks on offer. The reggae reggae chicken is especially good. Proper chips too! Friendly staff and a fab beer garden.

Ok but the table's were very sticky tpilets ok but handle to open door to get back in was taped up

I went here today with my family and the reviews and the recommendations we have had were every bit true...the food was lovely, it was like a homecooked roast which is absolutely what me and my family were after, the portion of the meal was generous and we were fools to try and go for 3 courses but we did, all the food was yummy and perfectly cooked and tasty, nice amount of gravy comes on the roast. I couldnt have a starter as they were both mushroom starters (mushroom soup and breaded mushrooms) which i dont eat so that was my only negative, but a starter isnt needed with such caliber of main meal, only providing a roast on a sunday is sensible to keep up with the demand of here, i can see a lot of the people are regulars here which speaks volumes in itself. The staff and sevice is welcoming and friendly whicb is lovely being new to a place. And we sure will be back. 100% #willbeback #English roast #nevereatingagain

Have been to the Colliers many times in the past few years, generally nice, but today was absolutely shocking.!! Ordered bacon and cheese baguette with chips, the simplest of things to do, what I had was awful.!! Bacon and cheese clumped together as if it had been warmed up from day before.!! When I told staff, they were not interested.!! Extremely disappointed

If I could rate it zero I would. I don’t usually write a review but our experience was so bad I felt compelled to. My partner and I use to visit the colliers regularly and have always had a lovely meal but haven’t been for a quite some time so decided to give it a go. My partner ordered the mixed grill and well what came can only be described as shocking. The lamb chop was so over cooked he could hardly cut it with a steak knife, the chicken was cold, rubbery and dry (even with sauce), the eggs looked like they had been cooked in the microwave and the most shocking part the gammon or pork chop (we couldn’t tell) was completely raw. It had only been sealed lightly on the outside. My partner had already eaten a small amount before noticing he had been eating raw pork. No body come to ask how our meal was and we didn’t see any staff till we were about to leave. My partner politely told the waitress about the issues with the meal and actually apologised for complaining. The waitress disappeared into the kitchen, come out then went to clear more tables. There was no apology or anything from any of the staff. My partner was very poorly that night. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was food poisoning. It was the worse meal we’ve ever had and the complete lack of professionalism from the staff was the icing on the cake. We will never go back and will be telling all our friends and family to avoid at all cost.

The staff are brilliant! The food is gorgeous and plentiful, I've personally never had a bad meal here.. and the price is better than anywhere else.

if you want cordon bleu cooking and surroundings you wont get it here - if you want a good meal with friendly staff at a reasonable price then this is the place to come to. Nice and clean, with good meals and good portions. Hidden gem!

The chips were cold the sausage was burnt the peas were like gun pellets and my gammon was raw and the chicken nearly choked me it was that dry sent it bk didn't even apologise or offer a partial refund avoid people before you end up with food poisoning
